Moss Lake Cottage

JenniferRating, 5 stars1 day ago
We love the cottage and it 's location was great. We where able to get to every where. Lori and Don thought of everything that you would need to make your stay more comfortable. They made sure that we had everything we needed. They had tons of brochures of everything you could do. Plus certain items you might of forgot to pack. We enjoyed the cottage. Everything worked well, the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and sitting at the deck watching the flying fish every day. Definitely well worth the money. We would like to stay again

Only 200 Yards From The Beach ! Ocean View !

We had a lovely stay at Jim’s place. We were a bit nervous about the logistics of getting to and from the island, transportation, etc. but Jim and Karla ( the property manager) had lots of great recs and were so helpful. The home is lovely and even cuter than the pics on Airbnb show. The location couldn’t be beat. The beach was pristine and quiet. Best family vacation ever!

We loved our week long stay. The kitchen is fully stocked. The leave was clean and with great instruction the pool and spa were easy to use and a fabulous addition to our beach days. Internet was little spotty. Wished we could have recycled. Grill is small but perfect for the 2 of us. Absolutely amazing and responsive host. This was a splurge for us and we’re glad we did it!

Savannah Tybee Bachelorette | Private Heated Pool

JennyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This was a cute place to stay for my cousin’s 50th birthday! Lots of party supplies at the house, like a cake stand and balloon inflator. It was perfect for 7 of us ladies. The pool in the backyard was a huge bonus so we could cool off after a long day of walking in Savannah. It a great location if you’re looking to spend time in both Savannah and Tybee. 15 mins from each. Very central and close to hop on the freeway. They’ve done a great job of updating the house to be more modern. One thing to note is that the pink room has a step down - so if you have an ADA guest, they will feel most comfortable sleeping in the blue room. Even though the houses are close together, we felt very safe in the neighborhood. The backyard felt private with a newer fence on one side and lots of trees to make it feel secluded. Plenty of parking for 2 cars front to back in the driveway. It’s great that there is a Publix right around the corner too so you can grab last minute groceries. Overall it was great!

Birds Eye View Cottage on Tybee Island / Savannah

ChristinaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Amazing views from the front and back porches and the rooftop deck! It was the first time that my family and I have stayed in a home with an inverted floor plan but it makes sense to have the living areas where the views are! The screened porch was a bonus, as well as the convenience of an elevator! I also cannot say enough about the convenience of the location… 20 minutes to Savannah, 7 minutes to Fort Pulaski, 10 minutes to North Beach, and 5 minutes to the Crab Shack! This beach home is tastefully decorated and my family loved the beautiful artwork and sea turtle decor!

Joan's Seaside Retreat

MeganRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Our stay at this duplex retreat truly exceeded our expectations! We were a group of six adults (three couples), and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out comfortably. The amenities were fantastic. We especially enjoyed being able to cook steaks on the propane grill, which was a huge plus. The location couldn't have been better – it was a short walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants, making it incredibly convenient. We also greatly appreciated the great garage parking on the property; we didn't need to use our vehicles at all during our stay. Tim was a wonderful host throughout our visit. His quick responses to any questions we had were incredibly helpful, and we were so grateful for his hospitality. We highly recommend this property and can confidently say, we'll be back!

I would like to say that from the moment that I booked my stay Kelly was in contact with me; more so than any other host that I have booked with, across any platform! We felt right at home and I enjoyed the separate apartment downstairs. I would have ZERO hesitations about staying at another property that Kelly hosted!

Sunshine E Day. 5 minute walk to the beach!

CarolineRating, 5 stars5 days ago
This was a great stay for me, my husband, and his family. In total, we had 6 adults and brought along our 2 dogs to stay and there was enough room to be comfortable for us all. The house was very clean, furniture was comfortable, and the kitchen was easy to cook in with all the supplies we needed. I loved that the garage was big enough to fit all of our vehicles! There were beach chairs and a wagon available to use if you didn't have your own, and the beach was just a short walk around the corner. You could easily walk the sidewalk from the house to access the rest of the island, and there were cute shops just one house over. We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone as a great location for Tybee and Savannah!

Ty for use of paddle board and tide chart. Newbie here. And, was able to try it, luv’d it! Those jumping fish are CrAzY! Close to crab Shack, bubba gumps, and the hipster shops. Paid to park at beach this time instead of staying g a few blocks away and absolutely no regrets! The sunset on marsh side is spectacular. The amenities are very good. I typically don’t like to stay Dow stairs bc of hearing others move around, but overall this place made up for it. My suggestion for anyone staying g marsh side is definitely do t forget bug spray. A few areas had skeeters. Again ty for the rental!

This was our second stay and it did not disappoint. Shawn is a welcoming host. She checked in with us to be sure we had everything we needed. The location is fantastic. It is nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The sunlight infused apartment is beautifully decorated and we enjoyed relaxing there each morning and evening. The kitchen is well-appointed with coffee maker, coffee filters, ground coffee, pots, pans, some spices, etc. It’s a comfy kitchen to cook in. The mattresses are very comfortable, great pillows, high quality sheets, and a bottle of wine to start your stay. The location is 15-18 minutes from Tybee Island and to Historic Savannah. We appreciated the peaceful stay. Thank you, Shawn!

The spotless apartment is ground level with a dedicated driveway and private patio. Just park your car and then either walk or ride all over the island. The location is on the beach side of Hwy 80 so you do not have to cross the highway to get to beaches and restaurants. Shade trees, paths, and neighborhood roads all the way to the beach. Stephen was responsive and helpful but not intrusive. He is what you want from an AirBnB host.

Your guide to Tybee Island

Introduction

Steeped in history and picture-postcard views, Tybee Island has been one of Georgia’s most popular beach retreats since the late 19th century. You can almost imagine Victorian couples strolling the Tybee Island Pier in top hats and frilly dresses, out for an evening constitutional. These days, visitors come from all over to swim, sunbathe, fish, kayak, birdwatch, fill up on Low Country boil and banana pudding ice cream, and spot bottlenose dolphins frolicking in the whitecaps. Booking one of the beachside bungalow rentals on Tybee puts you within easy biking or walking distance of many attractions, including Georgia’s oldest lighthouse, the North Beach shopping district, and historic military installations like Fort Screven and Fort Pulaski. And with the colonial charms and award-winning food scene of Savannah just a 30-minute drive away, it’s like getting two vacations in one.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Tybee Island

Temperatures on Georgia’s Atlantic Coast tend to be pleasant and mild most of the year, and Tybee Island is at its best in spring and summer, when the mercury creeps up from the low 70s to the high 80s Fahrenheit by midsummer. And this is not a dry heat: expect high humidity and summer rains (August is the region’s wettest month). Be sure to keep up with the news if your trip falls during hurricane season, which runs from June through November. Wintertime highs are usually in the 60s and temperatures can dip as low as 45 overnight, so pack a scarf and sweater for those sunset beach walks. When swimming, be mindful of riptides.

Top things to do in Tybee Island

Beaches

Tybee Island has several beach neighborhoods to explore, each with its own vibe. On the bay side, big and bustling North Beach is home to mom ’n’ pop shops and historical sites, while South Beach has more of a downtown feel, with good fishing off the Tybee Pier. On the south end of town, where Tybee Creek meets the sea, you’ll find two less-visited beaches: The relaxed Back River Beach has gorgeous sunset views and dockside dining, while just across the channel lies Little Tybee Island, a pristine nature preserve beloved by birders and accessible only by boat.

Fort Pulaski National Monument

Though its thick brick walls were no match for Union artillery, this imposing Civil War-era fortification has been fully restored. Today, visitors come for a dose of history and nature: the verdant paths of the North Pier Trail lead to secluded beaches that make perfect picnic spots.

Tybee Island Light Station and Museum

Standing 145 feet high, this iconic beacon is Georgia’s oldest and tallest lighthouse. It’s 178 steps to the top, where panoramic island views await you.
