The Mill House Retreat is set in a park like setting next to the Sugar River. Built in 1864, this stone grist mill has soaring 15ft ceilings, original fittings and luxurious finishes. You will be greeted by chesterfield sofas, a large bar area, and comfortable beds. Just minutes to bike trails, art galleries, live music, restaurants, and bars. Guests are welcome to have local friends over to enjoy the setting and reminisce. Madison, New Glarus and Epic are just minutes away.
“The Mill House Retreat is an absolute MUST for Wisconsin travelers. The space itself is amazing - unique and full of character and charm ... just like the host herself (Lori), as well as the other local shop keeps ... both on and off property. The building’s brick and metal works left over from its days as a functioning mill combined with the stylish and extremely comfortable decor made for a perfect combination. Add in the provided pastries (so fresh and soft), fruits, juice and coffee ... plus satellite TV, giant hanging flat screen, table games, breakfast bar, nice shower, Netflix and ... literally on-site: chocolate shop, tap house, shopping, liquor-tasting bar, taqueria ... AMAZING! But that’s not all ... the cute local shops, cafes and restaurants that dot the rest of the same street are all very interesting and worth visiting on their very own. Plus, the Mill House Retreat is only 15 minutes south of Madison for easy trips in and out of the city, while New Glarus is just a few minutes in the opposite direction for those looking to do the brewery tour scene. The Mill House Retreat is a perfect destination for a romantic getaway, or for a “girls night out”. Very roomy ... nice queen bed, super comfy (and big) day bed ... and two large couches mean plenty of sleeping space is available. Overall, the whole trip completely blew away my expectations. And my wife was equally thrilled throughout! It’s such a unique experience. I had never heard of the town of Paoli before this trip - but I can assure you that now I will never forget it. Thank you especially to Lori and everyone else that made our getaway so memorable - I can’t sing your praises loud enough.”
Located 10 miles from Downtown Madison, the Capitol, and Camp Randall Stadium, Oregon is a beautiful village with a quiet neighborhood feel. The room is located in a historic farmhouse, one of the first properties built in the Village. Whether you're coming for summer fun, the market, or a Badger game, this is a great place to relax after an exciting day!
“We stayed here for a little day trip to Madison and I highly recommend it! We didn’t get to check out the area much but Bridget was a fantastic and very communicative host. The room and private bathroom attached were stylish, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. The space heater was a great touch for some white noise to help me sleep. We were greeted by the lovely and friendly cat in the morning as well! All in all it was a fantastic place to stay.”
Quiet ranch style home in Madison suburb. Midway between downtown and Epic, convenient access to multiple bike trails, grocery store, Target, shopping and restaurants. Enjoy a cozy guest room on the first floor all to yourself, and feel welcome to enjoy shared spaces like the finished basement w/ living room, and laundry if you need it. Fenced in backyard. Off street parking, PLUS I can provide you with evening/weekend parking downtown.
“Wonderful place to stay, almost in between Epic and downtown Madison. Squeaky clean, comfortable, cozy and easy on wallet. Danielle is quite a conversationalist, and suggested some interesting places to visit. Would definitely recommend it and if opportunity presents itself, I will be back there again.”
