Mansion vacation rentals in Iceland

Had a great time at Bjorn’s place. It was very clean, up to date and had a great view. The hot tub was a nice plus on cold days. We will definitely be back again.

This was a great place to be out in the country and enjoy a beautiful view over coffee every morning. The trip to Selfoss was a little bit further than we were expecting, but the benefit of being close to Thingvellir and Nasjevellir parks made it a very cool spot for the week. And you get a head start to all of the places out in the western part of the country like Vik and Westman Islands that would be very far from Reykjavik. We enjoyed our trip!

This place is every bit as incredible as the pictures show. Benjamin has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and welcoming as your own home. The location is great and everywhere is easily walkable. Entry to the property was a little difficult but easy as soon as we realized the key turns to the left and not the right as we are used to. Thanks so much Benjamin, we had a wonderful end to our Icelandic adventure in your home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mountain’s Villa. Beautiful, spotless and ideal for our group of 7, but it could easily accommodate 10. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, each with double beds; a common area with a sofa bed; full bathroom; balcony; and entrance to the glass dome. On the first floor, there is a great room with living area, dining area and extremely well-stocked kitchen (rare for Airbnb rental). First floor also has a bedroom with a double bed and crib and full bathroom with laundry. There was a lot of thought put into the home, from the design to the lock box for the dishwasher tablets (for child safety)—even a bowl full of “Mountain Villa” branded chocolates in the living room—such a nice touch! I wish we hadn’t booked as many hot spring visits, as we could have taken better advantage of the hot tub, cold plunge and sauna—which were lovely. My husband and I took part in the lifting stones challenge in the front lawn—and I was pleased to lift the 45 kg stone to the pedestal.

This was an amazing place to stay. We enjoyed every minute of it. The spa experience of the sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge pool were an extra special treat. The beds were super comfortable and the surroundings were amazing. We liked it so much that we booked it again. Can't wait to go back.

What a fantastic place for five adults to stay on a breathtaking vacation. Tons of space to lounge, eat big meals, and enjoy the hot tub and sauna. Every space fit all of us comfortably. Erlingur & Ingvar were extremely detailed and friendly in communications and it felt easy to reach out when we had a small issue with the cleanliness of the space. It could have used just an extra wipe down of dust and debris/sweep/once-over so that we could feel completely comfortable settling in, but they were very responsive and kind when it was mentioned to them. The views were spectacular from almost every window with the only exception being a bit of construction on the property. Would recommend this place and these hosts. Thanks for an unforgettable stay :)

Laxfoss is extraordinary. Perched over a waterfall, looking down into the river and into the distance where snow capped mountains rise into the sky you are immersed in nature. This was our second visit this year so we obviously love it. It is accurately described in the listing and the house is well equipped. The owners are delightful. We look forward to coming back.

Jon is a fantastic host and was very responsive if we had questions. This location is great for families or friends groups. It was super clean and well stocked with dishes and modern amenities. It was also very quiet, which is nice after long days of touring and hiking. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone planning a stay in this part of Iceland.

We were going to drive up to the cabin from Reykjavik and were told by many people that it would be a thought drive because of an incoming storm so I messaged the hosts and they were incredibly responsive and helpful making sure we were able to get up to the cabin and enjoy our stay on schedule even contacting the road services for us to make sure we would be ok to drive up

We had a great visit to Stykkisholmur. Bjorn was an excellent host and the house was lovely.

Our stay was great! My group was 6 people, and we fit perfectly. Bjarni’s instructions to get in were very clear. It was a little tricky to turn on the radiator heater, but we figured it out. Perfect location, we were able to walk to everything we wanted to get to in town. Thank you for a great home!

Beyond our expectations! The house was perfect , clean, peaceful and felt like home. The host is so friendly and helpful and helped us feel settled right away. The Views were unbelievable! The Location was so nice for us as we were only in Iceland for 5 days but we got to visit so many places from Selfoss. I would go back in a heartbeat ! I’ve traveled to over 25 countries and decided to book this house on my 3rd trip to Iceland. It’s easily in the top 5 of locations I’ve stayed. The scenery and peacefulness surrounding by birds and flowers to the towering fjords above. The drive from Reykjavik is long, but using the ferry can cut down driving time. There is a variety of hikes, waterfalls, and small towns with grocery stores and gas. I will return here someday.

This was our favorite stay during our trip to Iceland with family and our two toddlers. Our flight got cancelled and Lukas was so accommodating letting us stay an additional night. There is so much to do at the house for the kids (sandbox, swing, soccer, zip line, hot tub) and us adults too! Will absolutely be back!

Stayed here for (unfortunately only) one night with a group of six people. Lovely house, very clean and with everything you need. Enjoyed every second of it. Four people could sleep upstairs and two downstairs with two separate bathrooms. Two minutes walking distance from village centre, port and Hering museum. And a beautiful view over the city and the fjord. Big recommendation! :)

This place is a little piece of heaven on earth, a dream come true! Cannot recommend it enough, and the hosts are the absolute best!! Absolutely planning to come back again!

Philip was extremely responsive and very friendly. The place was spacious and had lots of amenities. It also had a beautiful view of the water!

Björgvin is a great host and his place was everything our group was looking for. Remote house, with a hot tub, grill and good vibes. The location and the view from the terrace is beautiful with only a few minutes drive to the nearest town. Björgvin was really friendly and offered his assistance if we needed anything which was a nice touch.

We had a great week staying at Þórður’s place. It was very spacious and exactly like in the photos. The hot tub was also a really nice touch after long days of hiking. Highly recommend!

What a great find! The place was perfect and the rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. The kids loved the hot tub and I loved the books! I read a Steinbeck book which I greatly appreciated. The kitchen was beautiful as was the sunroom. I imagine the sunroom would be the perfect room to see the Northern Lights. The neighborhood was peaceful and we even got to spend a little time with one of the neighbors who was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very spacious, clean & nicely designed. If you are looking for horseback riding our kids LOVED “Riding Tours South Iceland.” Our stay was absolutely wonderful. I would love to return there someday.

A peaceful and private cabin surrounded by mountains and a lake. The house is beautiful and spacious. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook dinners and breakfast. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 1 child to spread out and relax. Thankful for such a kind, patient, responsive host!

Clean and beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The place felt remote but was near enough to Selfoss to make grocery shopping and eating out very convenient. The house was immaculate, very well equipped, and exactly as described. We were able to watch the northern lights from the beautiful deck and we were able to interact with the sweet horses on our way to and from the property. Edda was very communicative and explained everything very well. We would definitely stay here again!

A spacious, well lit apartment with great views and walking distance from the city centre. Edda was a very responsive and helpful host. The apartment was equipped with everything needed for a long trip to Iceland. We would definitely stay there again!
