Cottage vacation rentals in Central California

We’re very familiar with the surrounding area and this home is classic to the Russian River vibe. It’s easy to access Jenner Highland preserve, Armstrong woods and river activities. We found the listing to be accurate and very clean. We did not access the small secondary building but appreciated the hot tub. We also were glad we left our dog at home as there is no grass on the property and several stairs to navigate. It would certainly work for some dogs, but not ours was quite large. We did appreciate David’s immediate response to our request to edit our reservation when we decided not to bring our dog; excellent communication!

Had a great stay here, would definitely recommend. Perfect for a couple or small family. Mostly private surroundings. It was nice and quiet during the weekdays and weekend, exactly what we were looking for!

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We walked to the beach to boogie board, went to the boardwalk and enjoyed the local farmer’s market. The house was amazing and more than we expected. We enjoyed the backyard with all of its amenities including the hot tub and outdoor shower especially after coming back from a day at the beach. Shari was very proactive in her communications and we are looking forward to coming back again for a longer visit.

Cara’s place is a gem and we’re glad we found it. The perfect getaway from the busy Bay Area. Certainly, the creek just beneath really is the unique part of the whole experience. Of course we loved the hot tub and all other amenities too!

My tiny family (3 of us in total) had a lovely time at the “cute green cabin!” We spent a day in Yosemite and another day exploring Bass lake (Forks resort burger is a must!) Every night we enjoyed some time in the hot tub and we couldn’t get over how quiet the neighborhood was! We will be recommending this gem to all our friends!!

Our second time renting from Tom but first time to this location. We had an amazing experience! The location is stunning and the house is cozy with everything you need. We used the gas grill and hot tub, both were easy to use and clean. Tom and his partners were super responsive and lovely to communicate with. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Karen's place was amazing! It looks beautiful in the photos and even better in real life. It's so peaceful—we saw deer and foxes from the balcony. The wonderful view from the hot tub is also so nice. It's one of the best Airbnbs we've stayed in. Location, privacy, size, etc, everything was perfect. Highly recommended!

Loved the property. Very peaceful. The best part was walking around in the morning, listening to bird song (identified 30 species) and enjoying a cup of coffee.

I highly recommend this place, it’s perfect for getting away from the city where you can relax and enjoy the tranquility of nature. I love that is pet friendly, Romeo my chihuahua loved the back and front yard he was obsessed being outside most of the time. Kimberly is an amazing host and keeps her place very clean to me that is a plus.

We loved our stay here! The cabin is beautiful, super well stocked, and the hosts were very helpful and flexible. The kitchen was great—such a nice space to cook and hang out in. I’d definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a relaxing nature getaway with friends or family. We’re looking forward to coming back in the future!

This cottage is a little gem in a desirable part of the city. The upstairs sleeping loft is spacious and well laid out with plenty of closet and drawer space. We loved the thoughtful touches like high-quality coffee, a bottle of wine, extra sheets and towels, and attractive decor and books. Host Johnny was very responsive to our questions about the heating unit and fixed it right away. Not a problem for the physically agile, but guests should be aware that the outdoor side entrance is maybe 24 inches wide, and that the steep loft stairs are necessary to navigate to use the bathroom. Overall, a wonderful stay with a kind and thoughtful host!

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon! It was our first stop in California and it was absolutely worth it! The accommodations were beautiful, the kitchen made it easy for us to eat meals together at home, and furniture was clean and very comfortable! We would definitely recommend staying here!

Great host and beautiful cottage with easy access to Kings Canyon and Sequoia. Hummingbirds visited everyday and Nancy was responsive and kind.

I think I literally gasped when I got out of the car. Walking across the bridge over the creek, I felt like I was entering an enchanted cottage. The setting is so beautiful, the cottage was sparkling clean and just the right size for me, and everything worked perfectly. Sitting outside on the patios with my dogs, listening to the flowing stream, and just relaxing was heavenly. However, it's probably not for everyone. The owner rightly warns against small children (that lovely flowing creek). It worked well with my dogs. I brought a couple long leads and they were happy staying beside me outside. If you have dogs who tend to dash off, be careful, because the property is not fenced. It's also a bit of a chore to unload and load the car, carrying everything across the bridge. For me, it was totally worth it.

Such a peaceful, quaint, cozy cottage surrounded by beautiful Redwoods, and a short drive to the ocean. Can't wait to return to Sofanya's property in the future!

The little red house was a perfectly peaceful getaway after running around enjoying the sights and visiting Yosemite. Great proximity to different entrances to Yosemite The home was perfectly comfortable for a small group.

This is an amazing Airbnb— my wife and I booked it just looking for a day away from home, and this was the perfect choice. Super clean, adorable and exactly like the photos with a great little backyard garden, and all. We loved it, and our toddler (18 months) had an absolute blast there and at the nearby beaches. Thank you Meg! Wonderful place and a wonderful stay. Super quiet and peaceful. The first thing we did upon arriving was recline on the deck in the gravity chairs with birds chirping us to sleep! Great kitchen and also great local food.

We had a wonderful stay at Vickie’s. She was very communicative and friendly! The bnb is in a cute small town and perfect if you’re looking for somewhere to stay near national parks! Vickie put together a wonderful binder of information and restaurant recommendations that was fun to look through. Overall wonderful, comfortable stay!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location, nestled in a forest. We spent four restful days exploring the natural beauty of the 17-mile drive, walking in the forests, relaxing on the beaches, visiting historical locations such as the Carmel Mission and the lighthouse in Pacific Grove, and enjoying fine dining nearby. The full kitchen was nice to have for breakfasts, lunch preparation, and for evenings when we chose to eat in. Well provided with amenities and descriptions of how to operate the appliances and electronics. The hosts made check-in and check-out very easy and convenient.

Cute and comfortable cottage. I love how private it is and the natural surroundings. Jeff was a great host and gave really good tips and recommendations. He was very communicative and gave us tons of information that made our stay enjoyable. He would turn on the A/C remotely to ensure our comfort upon arriving from a long day trip. There was an ice pack in the freezer ready for us to use along with a cooler bag to carry. There was an awesome spice rack and there were clear directions throughout the cottage for when it comes to utilizing the amenities. We felt very welcomed and our stay in Jeff’s cottage was well worth it.

Quaint little cottage and private deck away from and yet close to the town. Excellent and super-responsive hosts, very sweet and kind. Highly recommend for a serene experience in nature on your next Petaluma trip. :)
