Chalet vacation rentals in Western Montana

Our family of four loved staying at this peaceful cabin in the woods & we were so sad to leave! We loved the screened in porch with the swings and comfy chairs with views of the forest. We had so much fun having Ping Pong tournaments and dart games in the huge game room downstairs. Location is perfect b/c it's private and quiet but also close to downtown Whitefish where there are amazing restaurants & shops. We loved having visits from their adorable dog Atlas and the friendly black farm cat. We met Jen and her husband Jerry & they were so kind and accommodating and gave us a great recommendations of a local place to swim not to far from the house as well as an early check in! We hope to be back!

Stayed here with a couple of friends with kids - the place is fantastic for families. Kids ran around outside every waking moment. The creek was endless entertainment, the fire ring was essential for s'mores and star gazing and the dogs were friendly and well mannered - got along with other dogs in the group and with the little ones. Cody and Georgia are just nice, cool people. Yes, they live on the property as some of the reviews have pointed out but it was actually great that they did. They were responsive to needs and gave great recommendations, but were not at all overbearing. It was like having great neighbors. The house is a little outside Whitefish - which is itself a great town. We spent a couple days doing activities around there and easily could have done more. It was a bit of a hike to get to Glacier National Park so be prepared for that if that's your main focus. We went into GNP 3 times during our stay and were definitely tired of driving by the end.

This property is located in a beautiful location. With only a short walk across the street, we were easily able to ski in and ski out. Although outdated, the place is in good condition. We informed the owners of things needing attention, just so they have a report from honest guests. Bryce’s crew had the place nice and clean. The view from the deck is awesome. Parking will accommodate 2+ cars. The main level bathroom is small but the primary bedroom suite is huge. We are looking forward to returning to this place.

The Expedition Lodge was Beautiful and exceeded our expectations! The living room was so cozy and comfortable and the fireplace was perfect. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped with everything we needed for our Christmas dinner. Bedrooms were all very comfortable and everything was so clean and well supplied and organized. We absolutely loved staying there. We were so impressed with everything, even down to the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Excellent communication from the owner...Thank you!

Cute, clean, and quiet. Information given was clear and easy to follow. Grocery store being nearby was a great positive. Conveniently close to West Yellowstone as well!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The house was amazing, and the views are spectacular. Definitely enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio.

This is our second stay with Mike and Shell and The Refuge is amazing. This stunning home has every amenity you could image in one of the most beautiful spots in America. We saw wildlife galore including antelope, deer, grizzly and black bears, marmots, moose, and so many more. We were able to explore The Bear Tooth Highway, Red Lodge, Lamar Valley, Cody, Mammoth, Old Faithful, and Norris, coming back to The Refuge each night to share a meal together and recap the beauty we witnessed every day. Mike, Shell, and the townspeople of Cooke City are kind and helpful. Only negative was that we had to leave. We will definitely be back…but this time it will not take us 6 years to return. Do yourself and your family a favor and book today. 10/10

Excellent place! very clean, very well set up for ski in ski out off of chairlift 3. Close to amenities needed. Great private grill and hot tub on the deck over looking the slopes. Loved it.

I don’t even know where to begin. Not only was the place, exactly as described, beautiful and clean and private and large enough for our family of nine. Eric and Kristin were responsive to communications and very friendly. We were able to use the bikes in the garage (high-quality and well-maintained), the kids played pool, everybody felt right at home and everything was really easy to find and easy to use. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. Eric and Kristin were kind enough to help us through a bit of an emergency situation as well and we are forever grateful for that. Excellent humans and we will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future.

Spacious, homey, perfect location, very well-appointed kitchen (pans, dishes, pantry), comfortable furniture/bedding, views are amazing. Wood burning fireplace is perfect, including kindling and seasoned wood. The remodeled master bath with steam shower is wonderful. You’ll want for nothing in this condo. The walk from the garage/parking is steep, so not for the faint of heart (site manager, johnny on the spot, was very helpful hauling our gear up the hill with a four-wheeler and wagon).

From checkin to checkout host was helpful, quick to respond, and friendly. The view of the lake, forest, and mountains is breath taking. Lots of space, well stocked kitchen beautiful master shower and soaking tub. A wonderful place to ring in the new year with a few families! Would recommend!

This is our second time staying at Will’s and it was just as wonderful as the first. The house is gorgeous and the sunset views of Bozeman from the porch are unmatched. The kitchen is happy and golden sunlight always pours into the big open windows. Will is the best host we’ve ever worked with— responsive, flexible and kind. Highly recommend this home!

This listing was so easy to get to from Kalispell airport and close to everything! Really made traveling around the Glacier area seamless. Not to mention the incredible view of the mountains from the property. Brooke was super responsive and answered any questions we had immediately. Super clean space and the bed was SO comfortable! We would love to stay again!

We loved our stay. We had trouble with getting the Wi-Fi going and they sent someone right away to help us. We asked if we could get a few more chairs for the deck and they got them for us. We were able to get an early check-in. The house was great and very well equipped. Hot tub on the deck was awesome. Questions were answered in a timely manner and recommendations for the area were helpful. The house is a ski out for the winter months but we were able to use them for walking in the summer. Loved our stay and would definitely return.

Very private location, clean and overall beautiful! We loved staying here and seeing all the different types of seasonings that other people had left. The hot tub was a great addition after a long day of playing in the sun. Everything was close to our location. Plenty of beaches to choose from, chair lift rides, zip lines, biking, hiking and relaxing. I look forward to coming back and staying in this treehouse again!

What a beautiful home! Very peaceful and lots to do! My family and I had such a lovely time! Tina and Pete were very gracious hosts! They answered every question I asked and I asked a lot! This was our first time in Montana and they were very helpful! We felt very blessed to stay at their oasis!

Great location on the lake! close enough to town and amenities. The views from the deck are incredible! We grilled each night and loved eating outside with a view! You can walk down to the lake (a bit of a hill) and hang out by the water. The beds were really comfortable. The host was very nice. She greeted us upon arrival, showed us around and answered any questions. She was also very kind by providing a few local treats. We would love to come back and stay again in the future.

Our family, including several grandchildren under 10 years old, had a great time. Plenty of outdoor items, zip line, trampoline, and climbing wall for kids, and sauna, hot tub and ping pong table for adults. We rented boats a couple of days, went white water rafting and hiking on other days. Great views from the fire pit each night. Overall we had an excellent time.
