Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in West Devon District

My boyfriend and I visited with two friends, so we booked the entire barn. Helen was there to meet us when we arrived and offered us a tea and coffee with biscuits. We found the barn to be spotlessly clean. The soft furnishings and interior design were lovely quality and comfortable. The beds are lovely and comfortable. The quality and choice of breakfast was amazing and they catered for a vegetarian and gluten free. Helen was a great host who couldn't do enough for us. The grounds are pretty and peaceful with lovely views of the Countryside. The photos dont do this place justice. We really couldnt rate this place highly enough. Thanks Jen

We had a truly wonderful experience staying at Stonelands. Christine was incredibly generous and kind—she upgraded our booking to an entire house at no extra charge, which was such a lovely surprise. After spending a few days in hotel rooms, staying in this cosy house felt like a breath of fresh air. It was spacious, comfortable, and made us feel completely at home. Each evening, our host thoughtfully set the breakfast table, and in the morning we enjoyed a delicious, homemade breakfast that made our days start on such a positive note. She also gave us fantastic recommendations for local cafés, restaurants, and tourist spots, which really helped us make the most of our stay. This stay was one of the highlights of our trip, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and home-like experience.

Lizzie was a lovely host - very friendly and welcoming. The room had everything we needed, although small, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. A great location - right on the waterside in Dartmouth - and breakfast was excellent.

Love staying here! Kenny is a fantastic host and we cant recommend her any it enough. Already looking forward to our next trip!

Some lovely quiet days in a historically interesting place in a rural setting. Princetown is a great starting point for hiking over the moor. It is possible to have dinner in Princetown, which is one km from Tor Royal Farm. Cozy to live on a farm with cows, sheep and friendly shepherd dogs.

We had a wonderful stay at John and Di's little cottage. Charming place, less than a mile from Port Isaac. We didn't have a car, but it was an easy walk into town. Having a car might have been a good idea. John was very kind to give us a ride into town sometimes and he came to pick us up twice. He also drove us to Bodmin to catch a train when it was time to go. His charge for that was much less than a taxi. The best thing about this stay was John and Di's connection to the town. They had lots of stories to tell about Port Isaac and Doc Martin and so on. Really delightful people. And Di made us probably the best breakfasts we had on the whole trip! Not too many BnB's actually offer breakfast anymore, so this was a big big plus.

A lovely stay in this little B&B! I was able to check in about an hour early which was great. The room was very clean and as described, and I had a great nights sleep in the comfy bed. Bathroom facilities were very clean too. Had a very filling breakfast made fresh for me to set me up for my day’s hike. The location is right by the town centre near to everything and you can get a bus straight into Barnstaple or out to Croyde/ Saunton a few minutes’ walk away. Friendly and helpful hosts too, thank you for my lovely stay!

What an absolute gem! One of the best stays I've had in the UK, Patrick and Sophie were very friendly and communicative. As for the space, beautifully renovated to the highest standard, clean, well equipped, our every need was catered for. I can't wait to have another opportunity to stay here soon, and you will not be disappointed!

We stayed at Caroline’s beautiful B&B for 2 nights for a wedding in the area. Caroline was so helpful and friendly ahead of the check-in and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome on arrival. The super king en-suite bedroom was full of charm, had breathtaking views and a very comfortable bed! The breakfast was lovely and non-dairy milk was available as I had requested. I would highly recommend Caroline’s place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

Lovely peaceful location, comfortable and clean accommodation and located just a short walk down the hill to Polperro, which has great pubs, walks and beaches. Also, a fabulous breakfast included.

Chapel Amble Lodge was the perfect location for our two day visit to the Royal Cornwall Show. The Lodge was private, clean and well equipped. Being just a three minute walk to a great village pub was a bonus. Chapel Amble would be a great location for exploring the general Wadebridge/Pasdstow/Rock area. Katherine and her co-host Dominic were both very helpful and the instructions for our arrival were spot on. We had a great time and would like to visit again in the future.

We only stayed one night but it’s a lovely place to stay. The property description is accurate and we found it clean, tidy and with breakfast provided (croissants, grapes, milk, muesli, butter, jam, tea & coffee). Claire was very friendly and responsive. The property is very close to Truro and Nancarrow Farm (which is why we chose to stay there). Good recommendations for restaurants too. Be sure to look at the instructions for finding the property as the satnav won’t take you directly there based on post code.

Lovely place - friendly and helpful

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Jude. She is a lovely, warm, friendly person and I felt at home straight away. The room in comfortable and quiet. The area is quiet, with off-road parking and lots of countryside walking from the doorstep. There is a pub with very good food (wine not so good!) 10ish mins walk through the village, plus a cute little cafe and convenience store. Perfect stay for me - thanks Jude!

Frank and his lovely wife were so friendly and kind. They gave us a very warm welcome and a welcome cuppa after our strenuous walk and Frank dropped us down into the village for dinner. Their cottage is homely, charming and very spacious. It’s spotlessly clean and we had a bedroom, private bathroom, dining room and sitting room all to ourselves. It’s a fantastic proper bnb with delicious full English breakfast and wonderful hosts.

Polly’s place is just beautiful with the most stunning garden and cosy attic room. The bath is just wonderful (roll top) and the whole stay was so comfy and we had a lovely breakfast of cereals, bread/jam s d juice, plus the tea & coffees were in our room the whole time. Polly is extremely helpful and so friendly and lovely. Highly recommend her place and would stay again for sure! Thanks so much Polly xx

We had a wonderful stay here. Both the house and our room were lovely and spacious, exactly what we were hoping for. We received such a warm and friendly welcome from David & Winston the dog which made us feel right at home straight away. We met Claudine later and she was just as friendly and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was nice and hot and we had everything we needed for our stay. David came to chat to us as we left and wished us all the best on the rest of our travels which was lovely. Highly recommend! Thank you so much David & Claudine!

I had a lovely stay at Rita's place. It's a fantastic spot and Rita and Eric are wonderful and very friendly hosts. the room itself is spotless and very homely. the breakfast was delicious. Rita even dropped me off in Plymouth the next morning. couldn't have asked for more. would definitely recommend.

I arrived tired after driving through lashing rain. I was made to feel immensely welcome. Everything was very fine indeed and Rachel had put a lot of thought into providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.

If you are looking for a place to stay where you are made to feel welcome, one where you can come and go as you need to, this is where I recommend you stay. I had a week of being totally looked after from coffee being made for me, fresh strawberries from the garden with breakfast i so recommend you have the cook breakfast, delicious!! I had a great time learning all about the chickens & seeing one day old chicks. I got to see & learn about their home grown fruit & veg. I will always remember how welcome I was made to feel in someones home I didn’t know. They are the warmest, kindest, friendliest & caring two people. I would absolutely stay again. Another guest came every year to see family & would always stay with Suzie & Steve - You will understand why! Thank you Suzie & Steve for making a stressful time so much easier. I think you are both wonderful & if I am ever in the area again I will be over to stay for so many reasons, one being your delicious breakfast - Thank you!!

Josianne's place was perfectly suited for my one night stop in Truro during my long bike ride. Great communication throughout, comfy bed, and nice to include breakfast as well. She was also really friendly and I was made to feel very at home. Highly recommend.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lesleys' place to anyone and would definitely stay there again if I was going to be in the area.
