The Thunderbird Tiny House

The Thunderbird tiny house is located on the Thunderbird Ranch about 13 miles west of Mountainair, New Mexico. We are surrounded by the Cibola National Forest on all four sides. The property is owned by the Wester's and has been in their family for almost a hundred years. We also have other vacation homes for rent so if you want to bring another family we can accommodate that. This is one of the most tranquil places I've stayed. The mountain views of the Sandia Peak was very calming and therapeutic. If you want a peaceful place with beautiful surroundings and have a deep appreciation for mother nature, then book here. My basic travel amenities were met for a great price. You do have travel 10 minutes into town if you need to shop or dine out.

A large terrace extends from the house, offering views of the surrounding mountains under a twilight sky. Expansive glass windows allow natural light to illuminate the interior space, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor areas.

this was a great spot, great landscape, beautiful night sky! it was almost as if we got lucky being able to find this place. In love!

Exceeded expectations to find a comfortable place to stay while attending an SCA event down the road. Superbly clean throughout the mobile home. Each bedroom has their own bathroom with the master having a spacious bath and separate shower. Amenities like Roku TV and a Primo water dispenser are the cherry and whip cream on top.

Such a wonderful mountain getaway! I grew up in the area so it felt amazing to be able to stay so nearby to all my memories. The bed was very comfortable and the window overhead was an amazing feature. Shower was comfortable enough for a 6’3” man and most of the areas while small were not too uncomfortable. Definitely would love to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in beautiful house with neat New Mexico flavor. The place is clean and large for a small group. We loved the Kurig coffee and drinking it on the upstairs patio with amazing view. Hosts are great—fast to commicate. Overall, we would love to return

Absolutely would stay here again! Was a perfect spot for us to spend the night. Nathaniel was an excellent host who met us on site and was around to show us everything and was very welcoming! Loved the beautiful view of the stars at night from the hot tub and the view outside in the morning.

Truly a special house. The owners have impeccable taste with the appointments. The house itself is a great floor plan with the open kitchen/living room area and tons of light with great views looking both North and down the valley to the west overlooking Albuquerque. But still an easy drive into Albuquerque and airport and plenty of stores within a 5 minute drive. Dont miss the hiking into the hills behind the house. Up hill all the way, so is a workout, but the rock scrambling and scenery make it worth it. This is a stay not to be missed if coming to Albuquerque.
