Secluded and Romantic Paradise on Somerset Levels

SueRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A beautiful restored Water Mill with artistic history linked to Picasso through Clementina’s Father , fascinating with book written in the Mill . On the day we were to arrive the weather was horrible and Clementina lit 🔥 a beautiful log burning stove and turned on the central heating to make us feel at home , she welcomed us a little early and showed us around and explained in detail about how to use the facilities in the mill . We have eaten at at 4 of the 5 restaurants she recommended and our favourite by far was The Boar at Barrington ( must book to be sure ) all the others were good but The Boar stood out by far . A big thank you to Clementina and Ben the garden looked amazing. Sue W 🐝🦋🐝

JulietteRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Fantastic place! Better even than the pictures. Very relaxing, the bath is amazing! Lovely, private courtyard to sit in and listen to the birds and relax. Bed extremely comfortable! Lovely, extra special touches from the host made Tin Bath a perfect getaway. Francis was extremely helpful with messages and information right from booking. Highly recommended and we definitely hope to return.

Relax in Myrtle Cottage at The Old Thatch, Pitney

JuliaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Myrtle Cottage was a lovely place to stay. Clean, well equipped, good facilities & all in the heart of the countryside. A warm welcome was provided by our hosts and dogs. Basic provisions left in the fridge were a bonus. We were given tips on where to eat out & a few ideas of local walks. All in all we had a great stay which was all too brief.

Characterful barn on the Somerset Levels

MaggieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beautiful barn in several acres of land down a very quiet country lane with walks from the door. Very well equipped, everything you could need. Showers were amazing and lovely bathroom products to use. Very comfortable beds and crisp linen. Loved spending time with the chickens who roam free during the day, and sitting listening to the birds. Lovely pub in Hambridge, very friendly, full of character and great food, about 1.5 mile walk each way. Andrea recommended Queen of Cups in Glastonbury for middle eastern tapas type plates…..food was amazing. We spent a lot of time at Avalon Marshes and RSPB Ham Wall (about 40 mins drive) which give a flavour of the landscape and saw some brilliant wildlife. We also explored Ham Hill which is beautiful with 360 degree views.

Cider Country Hideaway

RalphRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The cottage oozes character and we had a lovely, peaceful stay. Very clean too. The garden is a sun spot and could have happily stayed there the whole day listening to the birds. Burrow Hill Cider Farm is a stone's throw away and well worth a visit, per James' recommendation. On which note, James was a great host and the welcome goodies for us and our dog were thoughtful and much appreciated.
