Shepherds hut vacation rentals in Somerset

Had the best couple of days staying at the hut, was greeted by Alexandra who was extremely friendly and helpful she showed us the facilities and hut. hut itself was a lovely little place, we could've happily stayed for longer. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely stay again, thanks so much :)

Sam's place was a joy to stay at! It's an annexe of an old house on the high street with a lovely bedroom overlooking a courtyard and a spacious living room and kitchen area which overlook the garden. The garden is full of fruit trees and wonderful plants and is very well tended. A bathroom and a second toilet made getting out in the morning easy as well. Castle Cary is a wonderful town (recommend the Somerset Wine Company and the Gallery which Sam and his wife run!) We did use the jacuzzi (for an additional fee) and sitting in there listening to the live jazz from the bar and looking at the stars was a dream. We made a new friend in Bobby (the dog) who just wanted to play fetch Loved our night there and would happily return!

I had a wonderful stay. There has been some storm damage to the hut I was due to stay in so Linda called me and let me know she had plenty of other options and put me in a wonderful alternative hut. The hut was spotless, warm (with enough wood to keep me warm all weekend) and cosy. Linda was very friendly and responsive. Moonfleet is a beautiful place to spend some time away from normal life and feel in the country side. I can’t wait to go back!

We had the best time here! Penny and Ant were so welcoming and kind. They gave us maps and recommended nice walks in the area which was so helpful. The shepherds hut itself was perfect, really cosy with the wood fire stove and great selection of games. It has everything you need, nice hot shower and Penny provides delicious breakfast food and scones. Such a special place, can’t recommend enough!

Lovely hut inside and out, set within lovely gardens. Plenty of places to relax outside, especially the hot tub. We drove to the Bell at Broadway, lovely pub for food with plenty of options and majority can be gf too, including the home made pizza with a large selection of toppings.

We had a lovely couple of nights in the Everdene shepherd's hut. It was so peaceful, with stunning views. The hut itself was spotless, and spacious enough for the three of us ( 2 adults, one child ). The shepherd's huts are set aside in a separate area to the main camping pitches. It has a log burner and fire pit, with plenty of logs available. The shared bathrooms were very clean, modern, and spacious. We didn't have any real queries, but Linda was responsive to messages, and we met her in person after we'd arrived, when she seemed to be walking around the site, checking her guests were ok. Moonfleet Farm is a great location for exploring Dorset. The Fox pub is a 10 minute walk away, across a couple of fields. We plan to return in the October Half-term!

Thank you Adam, we had a perfect stay. The hut is beautiful. Cosy & equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed coffee in the garden in the morning & the fridge kept our bottles cold. Listening to the sounds of nature in the hot tub in the evening (including our pony friend munching away at the end of the orchard) was blissful. Walks to Porlock Weir & Bossington and great food on the sun terrace at the Top Ship topped off this wonderful weekend.

We had a great stay at the Pleasant Pheasant! Make sure you bring USB chargers! We only had USBC which aren’t compatible with the charging points. We enjoyed the circular walk from Wheddon Cross village to Dunkery Beacon and would highly recommend Woods in Dulverton for dinner!

Had an amazing 2 nights at the hut. It was genuinely the best part of my visit to Cheddar. Chris was lovely and explained some great hiking options, local restaurants etc. Bathroom was super clean with a nice hot shower, and Chris even left freshly ground coffee which I really appreciated. Would definitely come back!

We loved this little shepherds hut with outdoor shower and toilet. It was in such a beautiful and peaceful location, and wish I had have stayed for longer! Thanks to Andrea who made us feel so welcome.

Really enjoyed our stay at the little hut! It was super cute, so many beautiful little details, very friendly hosts, in a calm area not too far from the beach by car. It is simply a very unique experience! Absolutely loved the little garden paradise, perfect for cozy calm evenings. We would definitely recommend the little hut and would come back here if we were ever in the area again. :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Fiona’s Shepherds Hut. It was decorated and finished to a high standard, very comfortable and actually feels bigger inside than expected! The log fire was great (although it gets very hot very quickly, probably our fault and put one too many logs on, we actually had to open a window at one point!). Fiona was very responsive to our questions and queries, including when the solar power went off due to the poor weather. (The farm shop directly over the road also do an incredible breakfast!) Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and is an ideal base for a quiet weekend away. Thank you Fiona!

Honestly the hut is so beautiful! We stayed for a couple of days to explore the Quantocks and it was perfect! The hut is quality, kitchen was well equipped and we had a BBQ on the Saturday evening. The shower is lovely and it has everything you could want. The grounds are super secure which is perfect for the dog, lovely patio area and pond - so quiet! We enjoyed watching the swallows darting about the valley and the views are incredible. Will def stay again if we’re in the area - thank you!

We booked a short notice night away at the weekend as a surprise father's day trip for my husband. The Shepherds hut was absolutely fantastic and more than we could of asked for. A wonderfully restful and unique experience. My boys (8 and 4) were so excited by the concept and loved the views (as did we - they are spectacular). Check in was simple and Elizabeth was easy to communicate with in the run up to our stay and in person and gave us some great recommendations. The finish was to a high standard and in agreement with all the other reviews, the beds extremely comfortable! I've already sent the link to a dozen friends as this is a hidden gem! thank you for having us.

We had an absolutely amazing stay in the shepherds hut. We were welcomed by Alan on arrival and gave us some information and general chat. Every morning we woke up to the cows and calves by the fence, fed them carrots and some long grass they were eager to see what was going on. Was a beautiful place with stunning surroundings and very quiet. 5 minute walk to the local pub that served gorgeous food. All in all lovely stay so thankyou, we will be back!

A wonderful stay at the Collie for 2 nights. A wonderful well equipped Sheppard's Hut and the extra special touches that Chloe provided from the arrival hamper to the hot tub being preheating for arrival. The views across the Somerset levels are beautiful and the night time sky was perfect for relaxing around the fire/bbq and in the hot tub. Thr local area of Glastonbury and cider farms add to this lovely weekend.

What a beautiful relaxing stay for our 1 year anniversary. Even though it was raining mostly, it didn’t stop us enjoying a relaxing evening in the tub! Andrew was so lovely and the place was immaculate. Will deffo be back! Thank you (chickens were a bonus)

Clean and cosy Shepherds Hut in an absolutely stunning location. The hut has been so lovingly and skill-fully crafted. It has everything you need and is very comfortable. We loved sitting on the decking in the evenings and listening to the birds. Would love to come back.

My partner and I decided to be spontaneous one night and book a get away. This is our first time using air bnb or doing anything like this. I’m glad we chose this as our first trip! Robert was such a gentleman, the hut was clean and had everything we needed along with being well presented and the location was easy to find. All round great experience from start to finish. Great little hide away, the cabin was tidy and spacious even with the bed down. The fixtures are beautiful and the dimmer switch really adds another level of chill to the space. would definitely recommend for a relaxing romantic getaway for couples!

Sally was a great host, welcomed us in and explained everything so we could make the most of the amenities. She recommended great places to go and the shepherd's hut was lovely and cosy. Can't ever go wrong with a hut tub too! Would stay again!
