  • We booked Clare’s place as a very last minute escape following the cancellation of our trip to Berlin because of the ongoing Coronavirus situation. We wanted somewhere rural and private as a kind of ‘escape’ from the current situation... and what an escape it was... The location was amazing.... lovely views of the countryside and wildlife... to wake up to chickens and ducks playing in the pond opposite the mill was very cute......you can stay in the mill and see no one if you like, or drive 5 minutes into a lovely quaint town...perfect. The mill is simply stunning....no other words; beautifully finished and furnished... an absolute testament to Clare who project managed the mill’s restoration.. It was spotlessly & professionally cleaned before our arrival, the bath was amazing and the bed ridiculously comfortable. Clare was very generous & kind. The ‘perfect host’. Communication was excellent and all the extra touches on arrival ( I won’t ruin the surprise) made us feel special & welcome. If you don’t stay here, you really are missing out!! In this current climate of uncertainty and anxiety, this is really the perfect escape. We’d love to stay again in the future. Thank you Clare

  • Clare is a lovely host and really made us feel at home in the mill! It is a beautiful property and well worth a visit.

  • We had a really amazing stay at the windmill. It’s such a unique building and really nicely done inside. We really enjoyed sitting out on the staging to watch the sunrise, despite the single figure temperatures. Claire is an excellent host! She was really helpful - lending us some bits to clean up our walking boots after encountering a huge bog on our afternoon walk. Highly recommend a visit and we’d definitely be keen to stay again.

    Suzy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A really special, well designed space. We couldn’t be happier that it rained the whole time as it meant we got to spend the whole stay in the windmill! Thanks

    Steve2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing Windmill and what an amazing location! Clare was also so kind - and even gave us some fresh rhubarb from her garden. She was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of tips for the area. Would recommend this place 150 percent!

  • The most perfect place for a relaxing break away! So unique & quaint, with the most heavenly bedding! Clare is a great host.... we can’t wait to come and visit again! X

  • One of the most extraordinary spaces we've stayed in. Peaceful, and immaculately kept. It's every bit as good as it looks in the listing. Clare's insights on the area were invaluable too - and she couldn't have been more accommodating (eg for a dietary requirement). Thank you so much again.

Oak panelled walls, wooden window shutters, and warm parquet floors surround you. Choose from hundreds of books and read in a secret bed box behind floor-to-ceiling shelves. Family portraits and heirlooms happily coexist with works of modern art.
Romantic and stylish apartment, It's the perfect base from which to explore Edinburgh from. I've already had some great people come and stay, so I welcome you to my home. Edinburgh castle is a short walk away from the apartment, and the National Gallery, St Giles Cathedral, National Museum of Scotland are all close by. My apartment is on the fourth floor of an 18th Century tenement with views on to the historic Royal Mile. With all mod cons and a unique location, this is the perfect apartment to have as a base while you explore Edinburgh. The apartment retains the unique character of the Old Town with oak panelled walls and parquet flooring, mixed with family portraits, antiques and works of art, but also all the modern comforts of a home. It is on the fourth floor and is reached by a spiral staircase (76 steps in all!) For our American cousins that's a walkup :-) There is no elevator. The apartment is South facing and full of light by day. The hall has a cupboard to hang clothes/store shoes etc. There is also an ironing board/iron and a hair dryer kept here as well. The bathroom has a bath and a shower, there is always hot water and plenty of towels for you to have. Then through the main door off the hall, is the open plan living space. Five full height original Georgian sash windows face you as you walk into the space. Floor to ceiling book cases and a large period fireplace with French empire over-mantle mirror. There is free wifi throughout the apartment, also a big collection of fiction/history/cookery/poetry/art/design books to while away the time with and I have a music/radio player with an eclectic choice of C.Ds. Plus cards and board games. A large kitchen space with character and all the modern cons - toaster, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, kettle, induction hob etc. However I don't own a microwave. There is a washing machine and there is washing liquid capsules for it under the sink, just put one of these inside the washing machine drum and close the door and turn to what ever setting you want. I do not have a dryer (it's not that typical here in Scotland/Europe) what I do have is a clothes horses which you can hang your clothes on. Their kept folded up in the hall cupboard. I hate staying in apartments on holiday where there aren't even any basics to cook with like salt and olive oil, so the kitchen is stocked with all the usual larder fare to help yourself to if you're cooking in. Plus coffee and all sorts of teas. I also have an honesty bar if you want to finish off with a drink or two after a long day of walking around town. By the windows is the generous dining space with oak dinning table and six chairs. The bed is a unique 'bedbox chamber' made from architectural salvaged fitted Scottish 18th/19th century carved oak. A floor to ceiling hidden panelled door lets you into this cosy space with reading lights on the headboard and it is fitted out with a British king size mattress - width 150cm and length 200cm, white cotton sheets, pillows and duvet. Mary Queen of Scots would feel quite at home sleeping in it! The living room area of the apartment is tucked at the West side of the room and has two good size sofas, reading lamps and is perfect to socialize in and also have quiet time with a good book. I hope to hear from you. I'm more than happy to answer any questions or give advice about Edinburgh/restaurants/bars etc All the best Calim
Edinburgh is beautiful and historic. This apartment is in the oldest part of the city, close to the castle. Museums, restaurants, and good coffee shops are really close by, as are the train station and airport links.
  • Wonderful. I could stay here forever for I could. Calim is a fantastic host, very responsive and it is clear that much thought and care goes into ensuring that every guest enjoys their stay here. Impeccable.

  • !! very nice !!

    Ryan2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was a dream! I had everything I needed and Calim was super friendly and helpful. The highlight of my stay had to be those windows and the glooorious morning light - especially when the light shone through the chandelier and the room was filled with baby rainbows! I felt so comfortable here and would stay again in a heartbeat.

    Emily2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful few days stay at Calim's place; it truly felt like a home from home. Centrally located, comfortable, beautifully decorated with small touches and kindnesses that really lifted this above your average rental. His recommendations for places to visit, eat and drink, or just take in the atmosphere helped make sure that my first trip to Edinburgh definitely won't be my last.

    Amy2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful! A beautiful apartment in the perfect location and Calum was kind and generous and offered us loads of advice and help during our stay. The best air BnB I've ever stayed in. 10/10.

  • Tess’s place was beautiful and full of light. It was an easy Tube ride to many destinations in London. Tess was very responsive to questions and made our stay comfortable.

  • Nice apartment with a lovely garden, well equipped, 25 minutes from downtown. Two double beds. Trains pass behind the fence but noise do not disturb when sleeping. I recommend.

    Arturo2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is clean, comfortable and relaxing.Tess is really supportive and kind.I strongly recommend this flat. Tess kindly taught me how to use a washing machine, which is difficult for foreigners to understand. The room is bright in any weather. The view of the garden is the best and it is quiet without the sound of the car. There was also a cute squirrel. I sometimes see the train, but I don't mind the sound. The train kid was happy.

    Yukiko2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful place to stay as our first rental of three during our London/Paris trip with my 3 kids and my mom. Tess set the bar high with great amenities, clean place and quick responses. It felt really homey and although it rained one of the days, we enjoyed the backyard view and the sunny sunroom where we had breakfast and snacks after our daily tourist excursions into the city. The neighborhood was quiet with a fruit/vegetable stand at the end of the street where we dropped by to get fresh fruits each day. There's other markets and eateries nearby. Location was great because we wanted a place a little bit away from touristy places to rest. Loved that we were able to do some laundry too.

    Doran2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great accommodation as expected. Tess always responded quickly, the kitchen and living room were enough to enjoy, and the best was the room with the yard. The three children in my house loved this space and enjoyed it every day. When you go down into the space below the ring, you may feel a bit disappointed at first due to the existing entrance, but you will soon be amazed by the wonderful space you enter and meet. Although not in the heart of London, Kil Translation and Queens Park Station are accessible. We often used Tesco near Kil Translation.

  • This is a beautifully presented ground floor flat close to 3 underground stations. It is light and airy and has its own garden. My family stayed here for 3 nights and even though there was a major water leak from the flat above (completely unrelated to this lovely flat), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tess has provided extra, thoughtful touches like local restaurant tips, soaps and shampoos, coffee pods, and a genuinely fully kitted out kitchen. Tess was very contactable throughout our stay and even came back early from her holiday to clean up for us after the water leak. Very highly recommended place to stay!

    Catherine2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay experience is our ideal holiday home. Traveling during the day and returning to the lush green yard in the evening to enjoy the coolness is the most relaxing time of the day. The kitchen and bathroom are very easy to use, and the two bedrooms are also very comfortable to sleep. Thanks again for the enthusiasm and sincerity of the landlord

    2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tess was a great host who was very accommodating and quick to respond to all of our queries. The apartment was conveniently located for our visit and the garden was a nice amenity to have in the city. Certainly would recommend to others.

  • I am at a loss of words! Tessa’s home is an artist’s sanctuary- so inspiring, so much to see, it was hard to leave and explore all that London has to offer. That being said, when we did leave, everything was so close! Camden is honestly one of the best neighborhoods in London, and the location of this Airbnb is perfect. Tessa provides a thorough list of the best eats, shoppes, and visits of the city giving an authentic and well rounded experience of London. I just wish I had more time to spend both in the Airbnb and the city itself, but I suppose that just means I will have to come back soon and stay at this very spot!👌🏼❤️

  • What you can expect from staying with Tessa is a beautiful, comfortable home with a easy walk from the Camden Road Tube station and a variety of fun things to do while you are there! The flat is decorated top to bottom with interesting art and books and faces a garden back lot with Georgian buildings. A nice sized kitchen to have tea in and you might see a few Magpies out the window in the morning!

    Dan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location as apartment a 7 minute walk from Camden station so superbly placed to see all of London. A wonderfully quirky alice in wonderland style apartment with surprises in all the nooks and crannies - seashells, a dolls house, fabulous hats.. Also enjoyed browsing the eclectic book collection ranging from Dostoevsky to Alexander McQueen. Bed was comfortable and apartment was cosy despite me visiting in February cold. Kitchen very well equipped with all the cooking utensils you could need. Check in and communication with host extremely easy and efficient. Great value stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

  • What a nice experience. Beautiful place. Love the grounds. Our bed was heavenly! Beautiful bedding and attention to detail with bathroom amenities. Great English castle experience!

    Donna2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely amazing stay in this fabulous old building. Great bed. Awesome breakfast to start the day. Thank you very much !😀

    Allan2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Just fantastic. Peaceful location, fantastic accommodation, friendly hosts, brilliant atmosphere. Great touches all over the house - and a very welcome attitude to 'explore' and discover. Hats, swords, pictures, blankets, games, a cinema (!) and loads more. Highly recommended!

    Tony2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, a real castle experience. Food was excelent and best part is everyone’s hospitability. Highly recommended!!

    Sergio2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • I’d like to recommend to anyone who is looking for castle-living. That is amazing stay and my kids love it very much. The little one can play at the toy room for a whole day. The castle is close to the Lake District. It is totally fine if you want to go and back at the same day. There is some miss understanding when we booked the room. Wendy give us two beds with a reasonable price, which is really nice. We will surely come and visit next time.

    Fan2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • It was an absolutely fantastic experience staying at Augill Castle and we will definitely come back. Everything was spot on and the food was excellent! The rooms and the exterior are even nicer than in the pictures. We highly recommend this accommodation.

    Patrick2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Augill Castle is truly special. The history of the place, the way Simon and Wendy have restored it, and the way they run it today were all exceptional. I loved the informal nature of our stay--it really feels like you're with family when you're at Augill. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone traveling to the Lake District. And the rooms (and linens!) are incredible to boot.

  • Fantastic location and lovely and clean. Couldn't ask for better for our stay during a work conference.

  • For starters, Agie is the best host! She communicates & checks-in with you all the days leading up to your arrival to make sure everything is perfect for when you arrive. She provided my friends & I with the best local recommendations of places to eat, things to do & transit options. Ok , now for the apt, it’s absolutely breathtaking! It’s just like the pictures but even better in person. It’s decorated as if you are staying in an art studio, minimal but makes a statement. The apartment is very clean & has everything you need for your stay including Netflix 😉 and there are so many windows so the lighting is great. Trust me , once you stay here you will wish you could stay longer 💛

    Jackie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous, central apartment. Agie was super helpful host and we had a fantastic stay. I would definitely stay again.

  • What a great stylish warm comfortable spotless flat. All the things you may need to hand. Situated with many amenities near by . We especially loved the Mexican just up the street called ‘The basement’ fabulous. Easy walk to Stockbridge which is well worth a wander to. There is lots to see and do in Edinburgh and easy access to safe luggage store at Waverley Station/Mall in between checkouts and travel. Agie could not have been more attentive with support and details would definitely recommend.

    Sue2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

Chapel Cottage is a beautiful Grade II listed cottage, which dates back to the 17th century, and is located in the heart of the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water. There are also a wide range of traditional pubs, shops and restaurants, making Bourton perfect for guests of all ages. The village is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, and the many picturesque market towns and villages of the Cotswolds are all within easy reach, as are further afield places, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!

There is a three seater and a two seater leather sofa plus a leather pouff, as well as a pretty window seat.Other facilities include a Smart TV with Netflix access, and a DAB radio with an iPod docking station. Bourton-on-the-Water is arguably one of the most popular villages of the Cotswolds, especially amongst overseas visitors. Having been nicknamed the "Venice of the Cotswolds", its scenery is the main draw for travellers. The River Windrush meanders through beautiful English countryside before passing over rapids next to the Old Mill and arriving at Bourton. The river is fed from many springs, with the source approximately ten miles from the village and, after flowing under the bridges of Bourton, it passes other villages before eventually joining the Thames. There are various attractions in the village, including the famous Birdland, which is home to a variety of birds from around the world. Here visitors can see parrots, pelicans, flamingos and penguins to name just a few, with experienced keepers feeding the birds and leading demonstrations. The Model Village is well worth a visit, as Bourton is the only village in the Cotswolds to have a one-ninth scale replica of itself. It is carefully maintained and has all of the characterful buildings including the Old Water Mill and the Old New Inn. Those lucky enough to witness snow in the winter months will notice photographers at the model village trying to get the perfect picture of the snowy scene. Another family favourite is the Dragonfly Maze. This yew maze leads visitors through the labyrinth, gathering clues in order to find the pavilion in the centre which enables them to unlock the final secret! The maze was constructed by Kit Williams, author of the golden hare treasure hunt book, "Masquerade". Food & Drink Bourton has a variety of places to eat and drink, including cafes, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, with a range of prices to suit all budgets. The list below is a small sample of the options available: The Chester House Hotel and The Croft Restaurant (www.chesterhousehotel.com): Breakfast, morning coffee, lunches and evening meals in a riverside restaurant. You can enjoy freshly prepared, local produce throughout the day and night, with seasonal specials added to the menu daily. The Duke of Wellington (www.dukeofwellingtonbourton.co.uk): A local village inn aiming to provide fresh home cooked food with a friendly service. There is a light snacking menu, a full menu and a wonderful range of desserts and hot beverages. As well as daily home cooked specials, on Sundays you can enjoy a traditional carvery with all the trimmings from 12-6pm. The Mousetrap Inn (www.mousetrap-inn.com): A traditionally run Cotswold stone Inn, with a history dating back to the building of the railways in the 18th Century. Serving home-made food, along with fantastic, locally brewed real ales. The Village Restaurant & Tearooms (www.thevillagerestaurant.co.uk): Traditional, home cooked food in a friendly atmosphere, overlooking the river Windrush, in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water.
  • Beautiful cottage in a beautiful town. Perfect for walking in to Bourton or for using as a base to travel from. Thank you very much!

  • Fantastic cottage just off the high street in the middle of Bourton-on-the-Water. The cottage is very charming but should warn about the steep stairs! The bedrooms were cosy and the location can’t be matched. We had no problems checking in our out and communications with the host were very clear. Would definitely recommend if you don’t have mobility issues or giant suitcases.

  • We’ve just returned home after a fabulous long weekend at Chapel Cottage. The house is beautiful, cosy and a perfect base for exploring The Cotswolds. Little touches like the chocolates were a welcome surprise with out first cuppa! Thank you to Carol & Nick for all the information provided and for letting us stay in this beautiful home. Precious memories made and we are already planning a return trip.

    Michelle2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chapel cottage is in a wonderful location. Stylish, decor throughout, all the amenities you could need and the beds have the most comfortable mattresses and soft linen.Cosy, comfortable. In the heart of the village if you want to explore, but once inside it feels so secluded. A really wonderful cottage.

    Mateja2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Carol were so helpful and quick to respond if we had any questions during our stay. The cottage was so great, just as pretty as the pictures, and the cake on arrival was such a sweet touch. The notes that were sent beforehand were so helpful as well. Would definitely highly recommend. Bourton-on-the-Water was just slightly more touristy than we were hoping for.

    Georgina2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic cottage in an idyllic setting, literally 2 minutes from the high street- This is a warm and cosy place and thoughtful touches make a stay here extra special.

A renovated wooden horse stable with mezzanine bed up a ladder, wood-burning stove (pots/pans/utensils etc provided), kitchen sink with fresh drinking water and DIY outdoor (hot!) camping shower. This is simple, rustic living for those who want to be closer to nature, surrounded by trees and birdsong. The site is not completely free of road noise (see satellite image) but with a light wind through leafy trees it's certainly well masked. Winter visitors be sure to bring appropriate day/night wear.
Biggar is a historic market town, Coulter has great walks and an excellent old pub - The Mill Inn. The woodland around the bothy has many species of birds including sparrowhawks and firecrest wrens, the occasional fox and regular visits from deer.
  • I happened to arrive at the right time to catch Merlin, who was very welcoming and friendly. The bothy was easy to find as the sun was setting and would be easy to find in the dark too! The instructions left in the bothy were clear and helpful and I soon had a lovely warm fire going in the stove. The bed space is cosy and gets the best of the heat, seats are comfy and there were plenty of thoughtful extras without there being "too much". The woodland itself is very well managed and fun to explore, with birdsong all day long.

    Catherine2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay, definitely easier to get around with a car but fairly easy if you rely on public transport too! The outdoor shower is such a great addition to the cabin, it’s also been so great to wake up to the sight of the woods every single day - I’ll definitely be back in summer!

  • My stay at Michael and Nolwenn's cottage was great. It was the perfect base for a weekend getaway from Edinburgh.

    Grace2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage, perfect location for Loch Lomond and surrounds, friendly helpful hosts.

    Jamie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Michael and Nolwenn's cosy cabin. As a non-driver it was wonderful to find a peaceful place to stay within easy reach of beautiful scenery yet right next to the train station and close to local amenities. Michael kindly met us from the station and helped us with our bags but it was so close - just across the road! We walked to the loch and went to the Sea Life and Birds of Prey centres. It was February so the weather wasn't great and sadly we couldn't make use of the pretty deck and gardens, but the cabin was toasty warm and there were plenty of board games, books and DVDs to keep us entertained. In fact, this is the best-equipped self-catering accommodation I've ever stayed in. Michael and Nolwenn have thought of everything, especially in the kitchen: as well as all the cutlery, crockery and utensils you'd need to cook, they provide tea, coffee, oil, sauces, salt, pepper, herbs and spices, even foil to wrap sandwiches in for picnics. These are the little things you often end up wastefully buying and leaving behind when you are self-catering and travelling by public transport. The accommodation was immaculately clean and tidy, the bed comfy, communication clear and efficient. An exemplary Airbnb experience!

  • Michael and Nolwenn were lovely hosts! The place is every bit as cosy as it looks, located very close to Loch Lomond (the cottage has direct access to a riverside path that leads you to the Loch!) and Michael and Nolwenn gave us lots of useful information which we took advantage of during our stay! Would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Loch Lomond area.

  • Michael and Nolwenn are extremely kind hosts, full of useful tips of the area. The cottage is conveniently just a few minutes walk from the train depot, with plenty of privacy and a view of the river. Great place to spend a few nights away.

  • This magical oasis hidden on the River Leven banks of Balloch, is not to be missed. Within the first few moments into the cabin you already feel right at home, with a cosy aesthetic and some of the comfiest sheets we had ever slept in. The surrounding garden is genuinely the most magical area you will ever find yourself. Your inner child will be filled with wonder and adventure as you meander your way around its twists and turns. Waking up to a cuppa on the balcony is the ideal way to start your day and as you watch the sun peak through the trees you’ll realise that you never want to leave. Fisherwood Cottage is absolutely stunning and we can guarantee that it’s the best way to see Balloch.

Authentic medieval mini castle with roaring log fires and all modern comforts. In beautiful countryside on the River Tweed. Ideal for exploring the Scottish Borders. Biking at Glentress 5 minutes; Edinburgh 45 minutes; Peebles nearby. Heavenly walks.
Enjoy staying in a cosy, romantic miniature castle with all the luxuries of the 21st century. There is a luxurious double bed on the top floor and a possible 2 extra single beds in the Sitting Room.
The rolling hills and romantic valleys of Peebleshire are some of the loveliest in the land. World class Glentress is nearby for keen mountain bikers and Peebles is full of charm, with an award winning chocolatier and plenty of interesting shops.
  • This is a must stay place for anyone. The attention to detail is exemplary, sympathetically restored to an extremely high standard. The circular tweed walk (around 5 miles) is certainly worth doing as it's on easy flat terrain. Roaring log fires in both the lounge and kitchen make for cosy evenings in. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

  • Well, how to begin! Barns Tower is amazing! The history is well worth reading, as well. The place is exceptionally clean and tidy. What a wonderful experience to stay in such an old building with so much character. The personal touches - bread, milk, eggs, butter, cereal, and fruit were so nice to have. For us, the location was perfect as we hiked the Tweed Path and other areas in and around Peebles. A definite "must stay" when visiting the area. Even if you are not, it would be worth going out of your way to stay in this incredible place. Thank you, Lulu! We absolutely loved your place...

    Catherine2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wee treasure. We had a wonderful time and loved the environment with the river and abandonned railway. The castle was very clean and comfortable.

  • A truly unique and beautiful place to stay. The property has all the amenities you could need. It is in a great location for walking and for a day trip to Edinburgh.

    Rebecca2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Castle is beautiful and even better than it looks in the pictures. It’s cosy and very peaceful. I’m sure we’ll come back for another visit. Cheers, Jack and Emma

  • Everything was perfect: a warm welcome with touches of attention, perfectly clean places, heated rooms, complete kitchen equipment, sufficient bathroom linen, etc. It was a magical stay in a tower steeped in history in the Scottish countryside. The walks in the surrounding countryside are superb: fields, woods and river ... and Lulu offered us a private tour of the Neidpath Castle: exceptional! One of our best AirBNB experiences

    Fabienne2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic castle! Absolutely brilliant! Lovingly restored to an exceptional standard, warm and cosy - you'll not want to leave!

    Justyn2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing find! A gorgeous ‘castle’ set on the grounds with other properties, we felt incredibly grand entering to stay. The gate and door were so much fun and the history of the castle was explained once inside. Impeccably clean and great cooking facilities, this cosy accommodation is a must stay and with the novelty of the spiral staircase, spacious rooms and considerate additions of food in the fridge, it was certainly hard to leave after our three nights.

***We are monitoring the Covid-19 situation and hope to open more dates soon*** Stay in a 20m2 geodesic dome in a secluded location in rural Northumberland. With a wood fired hot tub, fire pit, and deck with beautiful views of the pond and surrounding trees, it's a perfect spot to relax, unwind and get back to nature. The site is completely off grid - water in containers, solar power, and composting toilet. We believe this makes the site special, offering a unique back-to-basics experience.
Our ethos is to provide a simple but comfortable, tranquil space to 'unplug' from the modern world, with a minimal impact on the surrounding nature so that it can be enjoyed. Please read our description fully before booking to ensure that our dome and site is perfect for you. Satori dome is located on a working farm alongside a large pond. Spend your time watching wild ducks and swans through the panoramic bay window, or explore North Northumeberland before heading back to your site for a soak in the outdoor Japanese soaking tub, whilst star gazing from the deck. Our dome is set up for 2 people with a double bed and Eve© memory foam mattress (bedding is provided.) LED battery fairy lights and lanterns provide mood lighting inside and outside the dome at night, and logs are provided for the wood burning stove and fire to keep you cosy when it is cold outside. Outside on the deck is a gas BBQ for cooking and inside there is a worktop and sink set up for prepping simple meals and washing up dishes (plates, cutlery and utensils provided.) A camp stove and kettle is also provided if you wish to boil water for teas and coffee. A leisure battery powers a small 24 Litre electric cool box to keep food items cool. The battery also has a USB port to charge your devices. Our simple off-grid sink is setup with a 25 litre container of fresh spring water and hand pump tap for washing up. Your outdoor hot tub will be filled with fresh spring water for your arrival. It can be used 2-3 times and takes 2-4 hours to heat up (depending on the weather/season), and will usually stay warm overnight. Please note that in keeping with our ethos of having a low impact on the surrounding nature, soaps are NOT allowed to be used in the tub because of the harm they could cause to the aquatic life of the pond when the tub is drained. We do not (yet) have a shower at the dome, for most people this is not a problem as the hot tub water is clean and does not contain any chemicals, and makes you feel fresh afterwards. The Eco friendly composting toilet is set back from the dome. Whilst it is basic, please be assured that it is both clean and civilised :)
The site is rural (no postcode and the closest neighbours are sheep), but is not far from a main road with easy access to the market towns Wooler (10 mins), Alnwick (20 mins) and Berwick-upon-Tweed (30 mins), as well as the stunning coast (40 mins). There are plenty of local pubs and shops within an approximate 10 minute drive. The location is great for those seeking to explore Chillingham Castle, The Cheviot hills, Ingram Valley, Bamburgh Beach and many other spectacular locations.
  • Go for it! Love what has been created here x

    Alexandra2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely couple of days here! It was easy to find with the directions given, the dome was super clean and we had the most relaxing couple of days. Would highly recommend Hugh & Liz's place and we would love to come back in the summer.

    Jemma2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this stay for my partner's 30th birthday weekend and I can honestly say it did not disappoint. From start to finish the entire stay was perfect. The directions were so simple to follow, the drive alone was so scenic and beautiful. When we arrived we were amazed at how secluded the pod was and how peaceful and calming the environment was. The entire place was immaculate and had amazing touches such as mood lighting, playing cards etc. More than enough logs for the tub stove, log burner and campfire. Tub was absolutely incredible after a long day out. I would 1000% book up to stop here again. Thank you so much for having us.

  • Really lovely place to stay- bigger in person as well. Would recommend

    Kayleigh2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Wow! Wow! This place does everything you think it would do and more. My wife and I spent 3 nights in the Dome and it felt like we had gone away for weeks! Hugh and Liz have a Gem of a location. The dome is so well situated and equipped that it is so easy to relax and enjoy the nature around you! The sounds of nature are like a sleeping drug for the soul. We did a day trip to Edinburgh which was as little as an hour and a half away, I mean hello... I recommend this place big time for people who just want things to slow down a little and get refreshed. Thank you for your great hospitality Hugh and Liz!

    Corbin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Complete isolation and a great view of the lake. Wood burning fire for inside and for the hot tub - plenty of logs provided. The bed is comfortable and the utilities do a basic job well. If you're into this sort of thing, this is just right.

    Ben2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Simply a wonderful experience, so peaceful and relaxing. The dome and its location are stunning, even in the middle of February! Using the hot tub under the blackest starry sky I’ve ever seen was blissful. I was worried about the toilet, but it was clean and very hygienic. It took us mire like 5 hours to heat up the tub, but only because we were being a little too cautious. Definitely leave the ash pan open a little on the hot tub stove to get the fire roaring and I’m sure it could be done in 3 hours. We left the curtains open to watch for shooting stars; just wonderful. We will stay there again in the summer or autumn to experience better weather, but this did not detract from a wonderful break.

    Michelle2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place to get away and switch off from everything, loved all the extra touches and the setting of the dome is amazing. To be able to sit in a hot tub and star gaze on a cold February night was brilliant ☺️

  • I booked this for me and my boyfriend for his birthday. It was amazing, the farm animals..hot tub..jacuzzi bath...quiet farm area...small cabin just for two...nearby beach and local pub...all were brilliant. We went to The Bank in Bude for tapas, rosies for lunch and prestons for lunch. Highly recommend all places. We visited summerleaze beach, the nearby beach (a 25-30 minute walk from the cabin) and did cliff walks which again I would highly recommend. Debbie and her partner were very helpful. We didn't need to contact them but they both visited us (when we checked in and before check out) so any questions we thought of we just asked them then, but they leave their number and were easy to contact. We are already planning on returning when the sun comes to visit as my boyfriend loves to surf but due to the weather he wasn't able to do this AND the cabin has a BBQ which next time we would love to have. Thank you & if you are a couple and are debating booking court farm cabin … you won't be disappointed :)

  • A really cosy cabin with everything we needed for a few days away before the Christmas madness! We didn’t use the hot tub due to the weather.. but the jacuzzi bath was amazing! The local pub Preston Gate is really friendly and does an amazing roast! Andrew and Debbie are really friendly and helpful and full of good recommendations for places to go. We’d love to return with the whole family and stay in the farmhouse.. will hopefully be in touch! Xx

Beautiful Woodland hobbit/fairy/witch house Nestled away in our woodland is our new roundhouse. Built from natural materials, nearly all from the woodland around it and super insulated with gas hob, wood burner and running water. Come hideaway, hibernate, nestle and nuzzle.. tend fires, read, swim in our lake, pick salad and eggs from the farm... This cabin offers the perfect place to step into a different pace, to be at one with nature, to slow down and think about what matters in the world.
The roundhouse is part of our permaculture farm and campsite and is nestled away in 40 acres woodland. It has a compost toilet nearby and there is a hot shower and regular toilet available at the farm. For sleeping it has a double bed, a double sofa bed and big single bed. We will provide all bedding (but not towels). For cooking it has a double ring gas burner (and BBQ/Firepit outside), running water and a sink as well as most of the pots/pans/plates/mugs etc you could need. Its also got 12v lighting and a socket to plug in your phone (but its is truly off-grid and has no mains electricity). It is worth saying that the Roundhouse is in the woods and is about 300m from your car through the field and woods. We do allow dogs, we don't really encourage them but we do recognise that they are often part of your family. Any dogs brought with you must be well controlled at all times, cleaned up after and we also ask that you leave a £10 donation for the cleaner.
We are in a beautiful corner of the world, we are only 10 miles from M'nt Snowdon and only a mile to the beach, on the corner of the stunning Llynn Peninsula.
  • So, at first I didn’t want to even write a review. Only because I kinda want to keep this place all to my self. I 100% recommend this trip to anyone that has an outdoorsy bone in their body. I planned this trip for my wife, my 1 month old baby and my doggy only 12 hours before we left. This farm is pure magic and the energy there is unmatched, the roundhouse was perfect and has everything you could ever want (just be sure to bring some boots). The furnace was warm, having a gas hob made cooking a breeze, and there’s a sink with running water (only cold water, but no complaints there) which made doing dishes so easy, they had more than enough blankets and the scenery is unbelievable. 3 days just wasn’t enough. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a bit of nature and miss the uninterrupted sound of birds singing. If I could give them 6/5 stars I would. Much love.

The highest village in Cornwall is Minions which is a mere 4 miles from Lestitha Farm on the south east corner of Bodmin Moor, and has a wealth of ancient archeological sites dating from the early bronze age onwards and they are really popular with walkers and hikers, these include the Hurlers, three stone circles dated at around 1500 BC, a line through the centre of them brings you to Rillaton Barrow a large burial mound. Alternatively on the top of Stowes Hill, overlooking Minions, you can see the Cheesering, a natural formation of balancing stones formed during the last ice age and by thousands of years of erosion, the name derives from the shape of the stones and will become patently obvious on viewing! The ancient stannary town of Liskeard is at the head of the Looe Valley and is approximately 12 miles east of Bodmin. Liskeard is one of the few remaining towns in Cornwall to still have a livestock market. It serves a number of small surrounding villages and is the gateway to Bodmin Moor. Liskeard is also the starting point of the Liskeard to Looe railway, one of the most scenic railway trips in the country and a delightful day out! Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A 30 is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families. The National Lobster Hatchery at Padstow neighbours Rick Steins empire on the North Coast. The Bodmin and Wenford Railway, the first steam operated railway in Cornwall, takes in 13 miles of countryside. Also just outside Bodmin is the Camel Valley Vineyard who have been winning awards for their home grown wine for the past 20 years. The National Trust have a number of properties nearby - Lanhydrock House, Trerice, Cotehele and Antony (used for Disney's Alice in Wonderland), Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps. Slightly further afield is the Eden Project in St Austell. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. To the east is the Tamar Valley, a stunning, quiet, picturesque region with some beautiful villages including Calstock with its impressive Viaduct dominating the village, Calstock Quay was originally used for transportation of tin as there is a deep water navigable channel at the top of the tides, although the construction of the Tamar Valley Railway in the early 20th century led to most cargo being transported by rail. Further up stream is Morwellham Quay with its fantastic open air museum, Morwellham Quay has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO, the cultural arm of the UN, and is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. Originally set up by the Benedictine Monks from Tavistock Abbey in 961 as a trading route to Plymouth via the Tamar. Tavistock is an ancient stannary and market town on the edge of Dartmoor and just across the border in Devon, it has a wealth of fine pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions.

  • My husband and I along with our spaniel Henry spent 4 nights in this cosy barn. Unfortunately the weather was quite bad and we were unable to use the Hot Tub but we made good use of the wood burner in the evening. Highly recommended! The views were amazing and was a great central location for travelling around Cornwall.

  • This is a lovely space in a lovely location! The hot tub has a fantastic view and for days when it was wet and cold the fire was perfect. The scones on arrival and tips about the local area were great fully accepted. Everything was clean and tidy and there was everything needed for us to cook as well. Can't fault this place!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Shippon and the location was fantastic just what we were looking for. The hot tub was amazing and used most evenings even though the weather wasn’t the best. • We stayed here just for one night for my birthday and it was worth every mile from Colchester! It was so clean and stylish, the hosts were so lovely and quick to reply. They even suggested we go to the Green Dragon for dinner which was lovely! We took a walk in the countryside behind the property which was beautiful! Waking up to the rain on the window, looking out over the hills and countryside was perfect! And to top it all off, their dog that we got to meet was so handsome and friendly! Will definitely be staying again, hopefully for longer!!

  • Beautiful views from a lovely place to stay

    Susanne2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the cleanest properties I’ve stayed in, with a friendly host as well. The property is cosy, perfect for a weekend away with a significant other - plus there is a nice view and good amenities. Overall I would recommend staying here, it’s very nice indeed!

    Christopher2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to go if you want the traditional feel of the Cotswolds! Very clean, and had all kitchen amenities and utensils. Couch is comfy and you can look at the beautiful view. Upstairs you can go out onto the porch and it is stunning. Good water pressure, they provided soap. Outside the bedroom window, you also have a gorgeous view of the rolling hills. Lots of natural light that comes in through the windows. It didn’t get too warm inside, but it just added to the traditional feel :) They provided us with fresh milk, which was a nice touch. It was cosy inside with nice decor and some books to read. Thank you!

    Lucy2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a unique place to stay in a beautiful wild location. I feel rested and recharged after a peaceful two night stay. Even the weather didn’t spoil our trip as the airship is even more cosy in the wind and rain - there’s nothing like an afternoon in front of a wood burning stove with a glass of wine or two, some good music on the radio, good company and a sleeping dog curled up at your feet. Excellent - definitely recommend.

It has all the amenities necessary for a great stay, including toiletries and some basis food supplies. She even left us fresh milk and chocolates! It is in a very quiet area but close to bars, restaurants, Sainsbury’s and bus stops. I would definitely recommend Zoe’s place in Leith and hope to stay there next time I’m in Edinburgh.

Right next to the shore - along which you can walk to the local Inn. Simple, spacious and basic. This bothy is our former home decluttered. One large, light open-plan room. Small range & wood-burner provides heating and hot water. Composting toilet.
This is an old stone building with a more recent stone end built by my brother Donald Icky Maclachlan - stonemason. It is very basic but it does have double glazing. The track down into the bay at Camuslusta is very steep. Although some people can find this a bit daunting, the track has a fairly good surface and all the residents of Camuslusta drive normal cars up and down it daily. The front door of the bothy practically opens onto the beach. Although the track to our house runs between the bothy and the shore. You can watch the gannets, gulls, herons, oyster-catchers, seals and occasionally an otter from the front door or through the windows. With views over to the uninhabited headland opposite, out to the little islands at the head of the bay, or of the shipping crossing the Minch between us and the Outer Isles. The bothy has one large, light and spacious, open-plan living, kitchen, sleeping room. The bothy offers flexible sleeping arrangements - there is a double bed and also a 1930's sofa bed which is probably not that comfortable. Depending on what is required - I can also make up another single bed or another double. Get in touch if you would like to have the sofabed and the two double beds - this is possible. The kitchen is very basic. One step up from camping - it's inside, and there's a sink and a fridge. It has a small wood-burning range which heats the water and also two-ring gas stove for quick cooking. The bothy has basics like an electric kettle, electric toaster, pans, plates glasses and cutlery. We provide basics like milk, oatmeal for porridge (and a recipe), tea, coffee, olive oil for cooking, salt, pepper. At the moment - guests can use the bathroom in our house for a shower. We have towels - not necessarily the fluffiest ever, but fine. As guests you will have the option of using a simple composting toilet outside (until the new grander composting toilet is built) or the toilet in the house. Our house is a short distance along the track and the bathroom is in the extension by the front door. There is a telly but it only plays videos. There are a few videos in the cupboard - a small but varied collection. Do not expect this bothy to be immaculate - it is a more than a little worn around the edges - but it is a beautiful space in an amazing spot.
The view changes with the weather - very atmospheric moody windy wild wet days and then you wake up to the clear beauty of a sunny day - looking across the still loch to the unpopulated peninsula opposite. Just step outside and you can wander along the shore towards the village, to the pub (the Stein Inn) or the small craft shop. You can book a boat trip out from the jetty at Stein. Stein is roughly a twenty minute walk. Or you can walk the other way to find some peace and quiet. The Stein Inn serves food and there is also a small seafood restaurant (for which you probably need to book) - if walking to Stein, you can also walk around the road, which takes a bit longer. Or you can drive.
  • Brilliant hosts and beautiful location. A dream trip for both of us

    Ruairi2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brigid place is a little touch of Heaven. It’s locked away in a quiet wee corner of Skye and if you want absolute peace and quiet, Go There! Brigid is a fantastic host who explains everything then leaves you to get on with your stay, but if you need anything, she’ll definitely help you without hesitation. A true gem of a find.

Great host that was a lot of help and also very generous with help and advice, well worth listening too. Would have already booked another trip if it wasn’t so far booked up lol, honestly didn’t want to leave. Great place

  • The wee bothy has what you need. We were only there 2 nights, which was a pity, could happily stayed for longer. The views are simply amazing! Brigid was great, maintained contact throughout and advised beforehand that there was a slight issue with the track, but it wasn’t an issue for us. We will return to Skye for sure and would happily stay here again :)

The accommodation consists of:- •1 double bedroom 4ft 6" bed with TV/DVD, hairdryer •1 twin bedroom 2ft 3" beds (can be pushed together) •Family bathroom (access from corridor and main bedroom) with small bath and shower over & hand basin •Separate WC & hand basin •Fully fitted kitchen with range-style gas cooker, fridge (with ice box/small freezer compartment), dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle etc •Living room with beach and sea views, dining table and pull out small double bed (large single) for extra guests (supplement charged) ); gas fire, TV/DVD, radio, CD player WiFi, games, magazines and books Leads onto a raised deck with sea and beach views, two outdoor chairs and small table Three steps down to grassed area alongside caravan with bench table/seating and parking for up to two cars On site laundry, payable on site - uses 50p coins; iron and ironing board free to use. The caravan can comfortably accommodate 4 people. For additional guests using the pull out sofa a supplement will be charged. If the weather takes a turn for the worse, there are throws, blankets and cushions to curl up in, magazines and books to read, candles for romantic suppers and a selection of DVDs, music and board games. There is outdoor furniture for al fresco dining and soaking up the sun. Smoking is not permitted and no pets are allowed. Visitors comments "your caravan is absolutely wonderful, relaxing, interesting, clean and the sea view lovely" "the caravan is very nice, cosy, homely, lovely" "the ideal place with the beach and sea so close, and as a base for touring the area" "we walked into your caravan and said "Wow" as it is so nice" The caravan is located at Caister-on-Sea, approximately 4 miles north of Great Yarmouth. It is sited at Elm Beach Caravan Park, which is a small, select, 4 star site that prides itself in offering a safe, peaceful and friendly environment where you can recharge your batteries and "chill out". There are no entertainment facilities, such as pubs, shops and recreation areas at this site. However, these are available at neighbouring parks within easy walking distance. It is also just a short walk into the centre of Caister, with shops take-aways and restaurants. Area We bought the caravan on a whim, after visiting the Norfolk Broads and ending up at the coast. As we stood on the beach it started snowing - it was magical. We thought how nice it would be to own one of the nearby caravans, just a few yards away from us, with amazing views of the sea. And that is how we ended up buying our beachside retreat. Despite visiting many times over the past 9 years, we are still amazed by how much this area has to offer, and how much more there is to discover. Whether you enjoy walking, sailing, fishing (directly on the beach), cycling, wildlife, photography, painting, shopping in the city of Norwich, the thrills of a seaside town, child friendly activites, or just watching the world go by, there is something to suit everyone. BOOKINGS ARE GENERALLY FOR A WEEK AT A TIME AND OUR BOOKING CALENDAR NORMALLY RUNS SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. We can offer a discount on a second full weeks booking..please ask. Out of season we may be able to offer a shorter break, but please ask us before booking - scroll down to bottom of page and press "contact host" button. The nightly rate will be slightly higher, but is inclusive of heating costs. Sorry no smoking and no pets allowed.
The caravan is located at Caister-on-Sea, approximately 4 miles north of Great Yarmouth. It is our own private caravan, sited at Elm Beach Caravan Park. It is a small, select, 4 star site that prides itself in offering a safe, peaceful and friendly environment where you can recharge your batteries and "chill out". There are no entertainment facilities at this site. However, there is are pubs, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. It is just a short walk into the centre of Caister. The area is ideal for a traditional beach holiday with children, picnics, sandcastles, ice creams... Often a small fishing boat brings in the catch and nothing is better than fresh fish straight from the beach! Alternatively if you enjoy fishing you can catch your own directly from the beach. The centre of the village of Caister-on-Sea is only a 5-10 minute walk, with supermarkets, a fish shop selling fresh fish, a butchers and a bakery for all your daily needs. There is a pub 100 yards away and a café at the end of the road as well as restaurants, pubs, take-aways (including Indian, Chinese and fish & chip shops or course!). Great Yarmouth offers old fashioned seaside fun for all the family. If you are feeling energetic, it is possible to walk there along the beach, (takes about an hour) or take one of the regular buses from Caister. There is a Pleasure Beach with rides suitable for all the family, as well as night clubs, casino and places to eat out. The Sea Life Centre and Time and Tide Museum are worth a visit. The Norfolk Broads are 5 minute drive away, from where you can hire a boat or canoe, or walk or cycle along footpaths and boardwalks. The area is wonderful for nature lovers. Rare birds such as the bittern, crane and marsh harriers can be seen, as well as the swallow tail butterfly unique to Norfolk. However, if you prefer a more sedate holiday, you can watch seals swimming in the sea, and even the occasional dolphin, as well as boats and people promenading - all from the comfort of your sofa! Norfolk is apparently one of the driest and sunniest counties in the UK. We have enjoyed many holidays with good weather at the caravan, when it has been raining at our home in Hertfordshire! Further afield There are quaint villages such as Holt, Burnham Market, and Cley next the Sea. Blakeney point has seal viewing trips. Towns on the coast worth visiting include Cromer, Wells next the Sea, Southwold and Walberswick. Norwich is apparently a great place for shopaholics! For food lovers, we can recommend The Swan at Ingham, mentioned in the Michelin Guide, and there are several pubs with good food, such as The Nelson Head at Horsey and the Fisherman's Return at Winterton on Sea. You can also observe seals on the beach - from a viewing platform near Winterton /Horsey. At Horsey you can visit the windmill and it is a great place to enjoy the sunsets. Some of the highlights:- -eating fish and chips on the beach -seeing a bittern, marsh harriers and a swallowtail butterfly at Strumpshaw Fen, and Titchwell Marsh RSPB centres - spotting seals and a dolphin swimming in the sea directly outside the caravan, from the comfort of the sofa - a thrill on the Big Dipper and Segway racing at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach - collecting "hag stones" (stones with naturally occurring holes through the middle) on the beach - canoeing for the first time along the Broads (a good test of a relationship!)
  • What a gem of a caravan! We had a great week and although the weather was pretty awful a couple of days, it was wonderful to sit and watch the waves rolling on to the beach. There is a great pub, Never Turn Back, just a few minutes walk away, that serves excellent food, ideal if you did not want to wonder far. The communication was excellent and the caravan was clean, all your cooking utensils at hand with lots of crockery too. We would definitely book again and really appreciated the homeliness of your home and the extra little touches. Kind regards Ilme & Lenny

  • Jo and Steve's seaside home is absolutely delightful. It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy a relaxing stay. The wonderful interior design is a beautiful creative touch that really adds to a truly unique, home from home, holiday experience. The cosy, comfortable environment makes relaxation so easy. We had an amazing time and left feeling truly refreshed.

  • The perfect place to relax, unwind or just enjoy yourself on the beach. Jo & Steve’s caravan has everything you could possibly need to make your holiday fuss free and enjoyable.

  • Fantastic location. Homely comfy caravan. The dishwasher is a little gem who wants to wash up on holiday. Quiet location, but near Yarmouth and other activities with a short drive.

  • Outstanding location and caravan with a very homely feel. Had a very chilled week with the kids playing on the beach nearly all the time- breakfast sitting outside watching the waves and wildlife. Easy self check in and check out - and a nice welcome pack on arrival. The caravan has everything you need. Lots to do in the area - have already booked to return.

  • The highlight of the chalet is an amazing view. It directly overlooks the beach with a completely uninterrupted view. It feels really peaceful. The chalet itself is clean and well equipped. We squeezed our whole family in (toddler and a baby) and were quite comfortable. We had a very relaxing stay and the kids loved the area, particularly Yarmouth. The communication was great and check in very easy. Thank you for the welcome pack - a nice tough. We’d consider staying again.

  • Brilliant place, my second time here, looking forward to going back, the view is amazing. Don't worry if the weather isn't that great, just enjoy the place, flick the fire on and relax with a cuppa or something stronger. Pub next door is called The Never Turn back was great, nice atmosphere and very friendly. Also worth taking a look around the Lifeboat museum just a little bit further down, that's where you find where the name of the Pub came from and why it is now the motto RNLI. Thanks again :)

  • Fantastic place. It gave me comfort and peace. It is paradise by the sea with everything you need and more. If you are open to receive the space will welcome you.

  • I bought this trip for my parents. They really enjoyed their visit. Tina was quick with her responses and easy to contact. My parents had a minor issue with the heating but all was resolved and no problems. Thank you Tina, my parents had a lovely time.

  • Jasmine cottage is situated in a quiet but central area of a lovely Devon village. We found the cottage in a converted barn warm and welcoming on arrival. Very well designed layout with an open plan living dining kitchen area and 2 ensuite bedrooms arranged on each side. The cottage was spotless, beds comfortable and linens and towels high quality. Lovely walks around the village and Church inn does an amazing Sunday roast. Really recommend its location.

    Sally2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a great place for relaxing at February half term and exploring Paignton and Brixham. Just enough for us 2 adults and 11 year old and 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Shower was great and whole house was warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and we had breakfast at home. 2 pubs within walking distance. Good choice of board games our son enjoyed. Internet connection was good. I’m sure in the summer with more crowd the narrow roads could be a problem. Also parking is tight so smaller car would be better. Would recommend Rockfish in Brixham for seafood. All in all it was a great experience

The Den is a unique space within the Lake District - a Scandinavian style BBQ cabin. A large BBQ pit in the centre to sit around provides a cosy relaxing evening space, and a place to cook! WiFi, Fridge, Microwave, Kettle & Nespresso. Bedding provided, and a heated blanket! 8 minutes by car to Windermere, 5 minutes to Kendal. Easy access to a bus stop and cycle lane. Dales Way very close by. A camping-type toilet and sink (hot & cold water) next to the cabin. Dogs welcome £5/night extra.
Set in 2/3rds of an acre of beautiful gardens with private countryside views. Off street private and secure parking is provided. Toilet is located next to The Den in a separate shed. The sink has running hot & cold drinking water. Please note there are not shower facilities, but the sink with running water is suitable for taking a daily wash.
We are about half way between Kendal and Windermere. The main cycle lane into the Lake District is directly across the road, as is the Dales Way walking path. The Den is in a semi-rural setting with views to the surrounding countryside. For clarity's sake, during busy rush hours there is some traffic noise from the road, but evenings and nights are typically quiet. Please note that we are not the Windermere Camping Site, despite the AirBnB map showing it close by!
  • Very nice experience! Very nice cosy place ♥️

    Bodoczi2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cool sparkley den for a romantic getaway :) Beautiful area and host was really helpful. It was early March so a bit chilly out but the BBQ warmed up the den and the toilet had a heater in so acted as a drying room for us. Great break! Thank you!

  • Very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay here. It made our trip to the Lakes that extra bit special. Thank you for the recommendations Yassmine for where to go we enjoyed everything that you suggested. The room and facilities were fantastic. We were also very pleasantly surprised to meet the Shetland Ponies and Gusto! I highly recommend!

    Caity2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Den is a beautiful made space and holds the most relaxing atmosphere. Matt and Yassmine have thought of everything, providing guests with charcoal, WiFi, tea and coffee, etc. They are also such friendly and responsive hosts! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the den and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, quirky place (the bbq is an amazing feature). Thank you both!

  • Booked for Xmas present for my girlfriend and what a great choice I made. The hut was absolutely stunning from the moment we arrived. Location is also accessible from a number of viewpoints and amenities. The fire pit is a lovely touch where we made dinner. Shetland pony’s were a nice little surprise too. The hit was slightly cold, however to be expected in Feb. Highly recommend staying in this beautiful hut and we will be back!

    Joshua2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lot of fun, even in winter. Just be sure to bring enough coal if it's cold and rainy to use not only for the bbq but also to keep warm. The heated blanket is a great idea. The room was spotless and very well organised. Bbqing inside works amazing! We had some perfectly cooked steaks. The toilet (no shower) is outside of the cabin, in rainy/snowy weather it's less then ideal. But this is communicated in the ad so not a complaint, just a heads up for people checking this location out.

    Twan2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

Gaze out across the rooftops from this bright upstairs flat. The space features a unique mix of antique and modern furnishings, an open-plan living area, a large skylight, a cosy minimalist kitchen, and pops of colour throughout.
My apartment is on the top floor of an 18th Century tenement. With all mod cons and a unique location, this is the perfect apartment to have as a base while you explore Edinburgh. The apartment retains the unique character of the Old Town with oak parquet flooring, wooden window shutters in the bedroom and a mix of contemporary and antique furniture throughout. It is on the fifth floor and is reached by a spiral turnpike staircase (102 steps in all!) For our American cousins that's a walkup :-) There is NO LIFT/ELEVATOR so if you have very large/heavy luggage or struggle with stairs this isn't the place for you to stay and I'd advise booking a ground floor apartment. Edinburgh in general, never caught up with installing lifts in its buildings. The apartment is at the end of the row and South facing, so gets lots of light throughout the day. The apartment has cupboard space for your luggage and places to hang clothes/store shoes etc. There is also an ironing board/iron. The bathroom has a shower, shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/toothpaste. There is always plenty of towels for you to have. The hairdryer is kept in the cupboard under the sink. I don't own a TV.... but there is free wifi throughout the apartment. I've a big collection of fiction/history/cookery/poetry/art/photography books to while away the time with. I also have a music/radio player with an eclectic choice of C.Ds. Plus cards and board games. A large kitchen space with character and all the modern cons - toaster, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, kettle, induction hob etc. There is no microwave. There is a washing machine and there is washing liquid capsules for it under the sink, just put one of these inside the washing machine drum and close the door and turn to what ever setting you want. I do not have a dryer (it's not that typical here in Scotland/Europe) what I do have is a clothes horse which you can hang your clothes on. It's kept folded up in the hall cupboard. I hate staying in apartments on holiday where there aren't even any basics to cook with like salt and olive oil, so the kitchen is stocked with all the usual larder fare to help yourself to if you're cooking in. Plus coffee and all sorts of teas. There is a dinning table and chairs. The bedroom is tucked off the hall and has reading lights and a comfortable British king size mattress width 150cm X length 200cm, with white cotton sheets, pillows and duvet. The living room area of the apartment is at the front with lots of light and a good view of the Old College dome. A good size sofa, armchairs, reading lights and is perfect to come back to after a day in town. I hope to hear from you. I'm more than happy to answer any questions or give advice about Edinburgh/restaurants/bars etc All the best Calim
The National Museum of Scotland is merely yards away from the apartment, and The Royal Mile and Castle are just a few minutes walk away. Live Scottish folk music can be found at the local pub as well as one of the best city coffee shops Brew Lab on the street.
  • Beautiful apartment, well equipped and comfortable. Will definitely be coming back!

  • Calim’s apartment is very stylish, super cosy and the ideally located to explore the city. We loved spending time unwinding in the evenings and enjoying a leisurely breakfast in the mornings - thanks, Calim, for the delicious supplies! We’d love to stay again some time. Big thanks to Calim, and throughly recommended.

    Laura2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing space with an amazing host to match! Ideal for anyone visiting Edinburgh, located a stones throw from some of the cities best sights and eateries. Combine this with a host with an abundance of local knowledge and excellent communicative skills to boot and you come out with something really special.

  • Calim made everything, that your stay is as much comfortable as possible. He left us some accommodation for the first day, bred, butter, milk, shortbread, eggs! He has some really good tips for the city, where to eat or to go out for drinks! He respondet fast at every time! Thanks again!

  • Look no more. This is THE place.

  • A gem of an apartment, perfectly positioned to explore the beautiful Edinburgh. Calim couldn’t have been a more thoughtful and accommodating host for our stay, with the most amazing final touches. 6 minutes walk to Queens Road Peckham Station zone 2 London Victorian terraced house built 1880 Comfortable quiet room overlooks back garden. Modern kitchen Safe neighbourhood Buses including night bus Regular frequent transport, 7 minutes to London Bridge Variety of bars and restaurants nearby , bakery and supermarkets Lively multicultural area Maps, guides, and books about London available. Light breakfast Toiletries/towels provided.
Our house is on a quiet residential street with free parking, 5 minutes walk to train station ( zone 2) . The bedroom is quiet as it overlooks the back garden, comfy bed with 100% cotton bedlinen. Inside the house is spacious and we have everything you need for an enjoyable stay in London, folder with local information and maps/ travel guides. You can use the kitchen /dining area where there is plenty of seating and a tv/radio. The kitchen can be used to prepare simple meals. There is a seating area at the bottom of the garden which is very secluded. Smoking is allowed in the garden. Usually it's just myself and my daughter around, my husband is sometimes away for periods of time on business.
The area is very mixed and multicultural, the transport links are good. People comment on how friendly it is round here and you will see many different nationalities. Nearest station is Queens Road Peckham, 5 minutes walk away, its on the orange line which connects with underground network so getting around is easy. We are right next to Peckham which has plenty bars and restaurants so in the evening you don't need to go far to eat out. There is a rooftop cinema and bar at the Bussey building (an old cricket bat factory) which is nearby and another rooftop bar called Frank's which is very popular. I have a list of recommended restaurants and take aways all within about a 10 minute walk, there are also some good local pubs and bars serving excellent beer. The area is very multicultural and lively yet has all the amenities you would need from supermarkets to cinema and takeaways. Next to Queens Road Peckham station is the Blackbird Bakery for delicious cakes and coffee, a small Tesco supermarket and several take away restaurants including an excellent Chinese one. On Nunhead lane which is 10 miniutes walk away there is more of a village feel with small local shops, a craft beer shop/bar, some good restaurants and a traditional English pub called the Nun's Head.
  • We liked it very much at Carole. We received great tips for things to do, and we were able to move around the house as it suited us without feeling that the family's privacy was being disturbed. We particularly liked the breakfast and the short small talk with Loba, her husband.

    Ute2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Super Airbnb, clean, tastefully decorated. Little touches in the room (chocolate, cakes) that please. Easily accessible from central London! To recommend without blinking!

    Amandine2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The first trip to London was better because of the accommodation. We were new to Airbnb. A spacious, cozy, windowed bedroom Clean toilet every day Bagels and cereals eaten every morning, I was so happy to have a cup of tea and play with cute cats in the backyard. I prepared cookies, water, and clean towels in the bedroom, and thanked me for being careful with the files that included information about London, nearby traffic, and restaurants. In the morning, I wake up pleasantly with the sound of birds To walk around the park and neighborhood It was fun. The bedding is also fluffy, crumbly and clean. Both my host and my husband have useful information about London, restaurants nearby, It was very helpful to be kind and warm. The price is great and not central London, but it takes 5-7 minutes to walk to the subway and the London Bridge is just a couple of stops away. It is recommended to stay in a place like this slightly out of expensive London city. Thank you for your gift of postcards and magnets. If you come to Korea, please come to the morning of Mt. thanked :) This place was really perfect to stay. It was my first time to stay in the private room, but her family was super kind and I could feel that her family try to make us to enjoy our trip. They tell us every information about London and village !! If i come back to London, I will stay here again !!

  • Very welcoming and friendly. The place is very clean. Carole and her daughter even made mulled wine and lasagna for me as if I was a member of their family. The place was clean, tidy and very thoughtfully prepared for guests. Very comfortable experience and would completely recommend if you need to stay in London for a few days.

    Jvr2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure. The lovely house is like a hotel not at least because of the great service from Carole.

  • We had a great time staying at Carole’s house. The room is very warm and the best is the cats and the rabbit is so adorable. We love to play with them. And the breakfast is good too! You will feel so much at home while staying at Carole’s house. We sure will stay again when we come to London one day!

Embrace the quirky, cosy interiors in this romantic getaway. Open the doors to the terrace, and let the sounds of nature waft through the lodge. Fire up the BBQ, enjoy a good meal and then spend the evening in the hot tub gazing up at the stars.
Located in one of Maidstone in Kent's oldest roads, neighbouring buildings used to provide accommodation to pilgrims on their travels to Canterbury in medieval times. Perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all and for those looking for something different, the quirky interior of the Lodge is an eclectic mix of vintage and modern. It offers a romantic hideaway, with exclusive use of the brand new hot tub jacuzzi directly outside your door, and a low height mezzanine sleeping area on a futon mattress, in the double height roof where you can star watch in bed, listening to the local owls. The fully equipped, open plan kitchen/lounge area is cosy in the winter with underfloor heating, and equally delightful in the summer when the bi-fold doors can be opened up to enjoy BBQ's on the deck. With Wifi access, Bose mini sound system, Nespresso coffee pod machine and a flat screen TV, you can also keep in touch with the outside world if you really want to. The Lodge is perfectly located for those who want a car free holiday in the corner of our 1.5 acre garden, about 60m from the main house. Please note that while the Lodge is completely private the hot tub area is not, as you are in the garden shared with our house. A short walk will take you to the ancient village green of Bearsted with its Butcher / Deli / Bakery and a choice of excellent restaurants. For those wishing to take the train, the village station provides services to the coast or to London, to give you transport choices. 5 minutes by car will get you to the award winning Leeds castle, while a 40-60 minutes drive will take you to the many beautiful historic towns of Kent including Tenterden, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells, as well as the beautiful Kent coast line and the EuroTunnel. Perfectly located for weddings and celebrations at the award winning Orangery in Maidstone, why not make a holiday out of your stay? Subject to availability The Lodge can be booked in conjunction with it's sister property 'Knocklofty', a one minutes walk away and can accommodate up to 4 people.
Embrace country life in the medieval village of Bearsted in Kent—the Garden of England. Walk to the village green for great gastro pubs, a butcher, and a deli. For a proper hike, there's beautiful countryside with miles of scenic walks.
  • We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay at Barbara & Mike's lodge. The lodge is amazing and in a beautiful setting in the countryside. The hot tub is an brilliant added extra. Barbara & Mike are very considerate and welcoming. All of this has made this stay the best one yet!

  • Once again we had a fantastic stay at the lodge. On our first night the sky was very clear and we could see many stars from the hot tub and the skylight. Definitely a stand out feature for us. We would highly recommend!

    Benjamin2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is absolutely beautiful in every way, especially the sky light to look at the stars at night, the hot tub and the decor. I definitely recommend booking this! Particularly with the lodge being near both countryside and seaside :)

  • We had a great weekend at The Lodge - Lovely location and The Lodge itself was very cosy and well laid out (we loved the underfloor heating in the cold weather!). Also enjoyed the hot tub !

In response to UK Government advice we have liaised with guests to cancel all leisure stays during April 2020 to ensure we limit the spread of coronavirus, protect our community and observe travel restrictions. During April we are happy to host healthcare professionals, or key workers connected to the coronavirus response who still need accommodation away from home during this difficult time. For the period ahead we have turned off 'instant book' so we can liaise with guests prior to booking.

The Coach House offers a high standard of accommodation, its own hot tub, locally sourced continental breakfast, private garden, super-fast WiFi and off road parking. Local sausages and bacon can be provided for a small charge upon request to create a traditional West country cooked breakfast.
Steeped with Victorian history and dominated by a fabulous beach, Weston is a great place to explore and get to know. It has several long golden sandy beaches and is home to the Grand Pier, the Playhouse Theatre, a bustling high street and independent shopping areas, two golf courses and a growing arts and music scene. The former Tropicana Lido, which hosted Banksy's Dismaland in the summer of 2015, now has a modern cafe, its own programme of theatre events and is an all-round entertainment space hosting concerts and festivals. The Beach Lawns host some fantastic annual events including Weston Air Festival & Armed Forces Day, Weston Beach Race and Weston Carnival. The new dolphin square complex opened in 2018 and houses new restaurants including Pizza Express, Nando’s, 7Bone Burger Co. as well as a new Cineworld.
  • Had a brilliant stay, enjoyed the hot tub and amenities were great!

  • Lovely place for two, great breakfast pack left, comfortable and warm. We never used the hot tub but it looked nice and private. Great Communication , would recommend.

  • The Coach House was the most beautiful AirBnB we have stayed in. The finishing touches to the property and the extras on arrival really made our trip special! Joy and her lovely daughter popped down to show us the hot tub which was lovely, and the arrival instructions were above and beyond anything we have experienced before. Would 100% recommend staying here to all friends and family, and would love to return ourselves! Thank you so much!

    Rosie2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazing. Hot tub works perfectly and you can connect your phone to the build in speakers to make a lovely atmosphere. Everything you need for romantic stay or relaxing time with you friends (hot tab has 4 seats over all). The apartment is great as well: warm, cosy, clean and comfy. Highly recommended.

  • This place is a gem! Lovely little house with everything you’d need. The personal touches are lovely. We loved the hot tub, Thankyou!!

  • The Coach House is a perfect retreat for two people. Tom and Joy are friendly and welcoming. The whole house was very clean and they provided a few extras that we didn’t expect, like milk butter and bread, so we didn’t have to rush off to the shop before making a cup of tea! I would deffo recommend this place if you wanted a romantic few nights away. The hot tub was amazing! We have returned home very relaxed! Thank you both.

    Laura2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect valentines surprise! We had a wonderful stay, we spent two days in due to Storm Dennis, but the Coach House had everything we needed for well needed break. The hot tub is amazing, and the little touches throughout the Airbnb are so thoughtful. The hosts really have thought of everything! I’m usually sceptical when Airbnb’s are reviewed so well, but I’d give this more than 5 stars if I could. We will definitely be returning!

The heated tree cabin is set within a small secluded wood up a steep path. Cedar lined, insulated and oak clad it cantilevers out over a remote mill pond. Wake up in a tranquil heaven only shared with shy wildlife, including deer, hare, the odd badger and a variety of birds. In the cabin are a king-size sofa bed, table and chairs, kitchen area with kettle, microwave oven and chiller. Your own smaller tree cabin, a few trees away, houses a flushing toilet and hand basin with spring water.
Whilst in bed gently falling asleep watch the moon rise over the mill pond through the tree branches and then watch the sun rise the following morning! A romantic getaway for the adventurous couple. Tucked away in a small woodland at the edge of a mill pond you will feel totally secluded as the cabin is difficult to spot from the surrounding areas but the reality is that you are close to a no through road, a village store and the delights of Hebden Bridge. Supplied with electricity and hot and cold spring water you are still part of the 21st Century but at the same time remote from it all. (In fact, so remote, that there is barely any mobile signal or wifi). There is a quality king size sofa bed, chairs for relaxing and dining and a kitchen area with basic cooking equipment and electric heating. Most 'camping style' cooking and eating essentials are provided including a microwave oven and a chiller cabinet. There is also a small portable induction hob and frying pan. A full breakfast is not included, but inside the cabin you will find cereals, fruit juice, milk, fruit yoghurt and of course tea, coffee and sugar. A few trees away there is your own, smaller tree house with a flushing toilet and hand basin fed with pure spring water. Hot running water, face flannels and towels are provided. There is an external hot and cold alfresco shower or for the hardy (or foolhardy!) take a dip in the mountain stream. If the weather is inclement we can usually arrange a time for you to use the shower in the main house.
We are surrounded by public footpaths, bridleways for biking and plenty of fresh air. There is a farm shop under a mile away that stocks everything and is open 12 hours a day. The nearest bus stop with a regular half hourly service to Hebden Bridge is a mile away. We are on a no-through, single track, tarmac road.
  • It's hard to find the words to explain how amazing this place is. Tranquil, beautiful and a little bit of heaven tucked into a gorgeous bit of Yorkshire. It was lovely and cosy and very comfortable. Tony was an amazing host, I didn't get chance to meet Barbara but I will be back so hopefully will get the pleasure next time. The outdoor shower was just amazing. The weather was fairly mild but it was an exhilarating experience none the less. I can't wait to visit again.

  • The pictures and descriptions have literally made me feel excited ever since booking this trip and whilst they were incredibly accurate, nothing prepared me for the overwhelming beauty of the space, as we arrived. Tony was incredibly welcoming and supportive and explained everything to us with so much patience, although we had arrived quite late. The view from the bed in the mornings was probably my highlight, and I don't believe I could put into words how very calming, nourishing and relaxing the little cabin was. On the last day, we braved the elements and tried the alfresco shower and it was such a surreal experience. Despite the cold temperature outside, the water was hot enough to not even notice the cold, and the views were simply breathtaking. Both the main cabin and the smaller "bathroom" were decorated with so much love for details and provided us with everything we could have possibly dreamt of. We had no reception whatsoever, which was great to just be in the moment and take everything in. We went to Hebden Bridge twice for food and coffees and had lovely vegan food and stacked up on some snacks and water. The fairy lights outside the door, as well as the smaller lamps inside the cabin always invited us to stay in, read a lot of books or play chess. Overall this was one of the most beautiful holidays I have ever been on and we are more than excited to hopefully come back next year again.

  • Stunning place even in the rain. Beautiful surroundings truly at one with nature. On arrival Tony & Barbara shared information about the local area and walls. Then to the cabin which was very spacious and tranquil. 100% recommend this place. Would like to book again when I can find a date it’s free, that’s just how amazing this place is. Thank you so much!

  • We had a lovely stay in the cabin and really enjoyed our time there! Feels very secluded despite being close enough to the house in case we needed anything; the perfect balance! Tony and Barbara provided some very handy tips for walks around the area, as well as delicious flapjacks and great selection of hot drinks and breakfast options. Really accommodating of dairy free too, which was much appreciated! Good location, with Hebden Bridge only a short drive or bus journey away. Such wonderful accommodation. Will definitely be looking to stay again next year!

  • We had an amazing stay at Barbara and Tony's, really friendly hosts and beautiful location with lots to do nearby. The cabin itself was really unique and Barbara and Tony provided us with useful ideas for walks and were really quick with communication

  • We stayed at the tree cabin for a little break away. It was absolutely beautiful, great location & the hosts were lovely adding thoughtful touches to the stay including Tony’s homemade delicious flapjacks 😃

    Lauren2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • You have to experience the cabin to understand it's charms. It was everything the details told us but Tony and Barbara's extra bits were great. Homemade flapjack on our arrival was delicious along with all the tea, coffee etc which was so helpful but on arriving the peace was something else. Absolutely no phone signal or WiFi in the unit helped us relax but you cannot stay in the cabin and not relax. We never touched the car until we left walking everywhere and wallowing in the views but the final joy was on the morning we left jumping into the outdoor shower was an experience that will stay with me for a very long time. Thank you for sharing you little bit of paradise.

  • Such lovely hosts, gave us a proper tour of the area when driving back from the station and invited us in to show us some local routes. A very relaxing stay and well worth the money.
