Places to stay in Llangennith
A fabulous holiday cottage based in the quiet village of Cheriton, nestled in the North Gower peninsula. The cottage has a double bedroom, bathroom with shower, kitchen, living room and further sleeping space in the upstairs mezzanine, which is accessed by a space saver ladder. The barn also boasts a private garden with patio area and a private Hot Tub.
A lovely self contained holiday cottage which has been newly refurbished. The cottage has underfloor heating throughout. A handmade oak ladder staircase offers access to a mezzanine bedroom above. Exposed oak timber throughout. The holiday cottage has a private garden area and boasts a private hot tub for guests.
The cottage is located at the top of the village which means that there is plenty of peace and quiet, especially at night. The barn is located at the roadside which offers easy access. There is very little road noise though as the road is very quiet at all times. Parking is available next to the barn with gated access onto the road.
  • Just as it appeared. All very clean and comfortable. Perfect as a base for exploring the Gower and coming back to a soak in the hot tub! Definitely recommend.

**NEW BOILER FITTED OCT 2019** Our house has been lovingly hand made using reclaimed materials and a unique, inventive design. We have an open fire in the living area to keep you cosy and in the winter evenings Outside we have a large garden space with multiple seating areas and a BBQ for those long summer nights Our home is perfect for a cosy romantic getaway, a catch-up with old friends or for a family treehouse adventure, kidds love it! We allow dogs but charge £10 per dog that stays 😊
Home of the designer builder of the solar showers and recycling ‘Reclaimator’ at Glastonbury from late 1980’s and first ‘Green Gatherings’ Passive solar designed for natural winter heating/summer cooling and a TMSthermalstore Our Beautiful Eco-Home, nestled in the treetops of Three Cliffs Bay, will tantalize your senses and make you feel OH so at home. Hand made from logs and recycled materials - There is love in the walls. Designed to maximise internal space but minimise the external (for energy reasons) – Is truly like an eco ‘tardis’ The house is 4+ bedroom, however not in the conventional sense - Two bedrooms are on upper mezzanines (hence the 4 dbl beds) and the 5th bed is a single in a cozy annexe snug. Be aware that the house is open plan and privacy limited - so if you are all on holiday 'together' as a group - one big family, then Treetops is perfect! Just let the tree trunks and flickering flames from the open fire sparkle the earth pigment lime washed walls to create a timeless atmosphere! Space - I lived here happily with my partner and two kids for many years, and we have even had groups of 10+ people stay. Kitchen - recently refurbished, open-plan so you are all together, with fridge, toaster, kettle and a new oven & hob (2019) - enough equipment to cook up delicious dinners! Bathroom - shower with water heated from solar, wood or gas. Cosy & homely, and perfect to wash the sand off beachy feet. Bedrooms - Two downstairs bedrooms, both sunny and bright, with curved hand carved walls and beautiful wood. Two mezzanines, one alice-in-wonderland, up a spiral staircase, which kids absolutely love. The other over-looking the sitting area, for more responsible monkeys, and a grand view of all that is going on. Outdoor - There is a open patio with a large table, a barbeque, outdoor fire pit, and large outdoor sink..perfect for washing wetsuits! Also surfboard storage, padlock points for bikes (cable type locks needed) and covered places to drip dry wetsuits & clothes. The garden sweeps upwards over terraces, spaces for yoga, apple trees and paths of sea shells. Our home makes a beautiful romantic getaway for couples, wine in hand, logs crackling on the fire and with no disturbances. For families, Treetops is a weird and wonderful adventure house, children love the magic of the mezzanines, the tree trunks running through the house and the excitement of the open fire, more communal than televisions! The open plan space allows for a real sense of togetherness. It is also wonderful for groups of friends meeting to catch up and have a good time! However we must add that we are not the house to use for a wild party as we must respect our neighbours. Sound travels to their house quite easily so noise must be kept to a minimum during the night. I.e. no loud music... Sorry!!
Treetops is more or less as close as you can get by car to Three Cliffs Bay. You can walk to the famous Pennard castle with it's glorious sunset views over the river and beach, within 5 minutes. The beach is then a further ten minutes from there. Around the corner is another beautiful beach, Pobbles. By car you can quickly and easily access all of Gower's award winning beaches. Treetops is on Sandy Lane, famous for it's hippy vibes, open minded and down to earth people, its green spaces and quirky hand built homes. It is a special place, famous to many people, and a real getaway from the hustle and bustle of normal life. An experience in itself! Nearby are farmers markets, the busy fishing village of Mumbles, with many shops, cafe's and restaurants, and the Gower Heritage Centre. Pubs are within walking distance (one only 5 minutes away, perfect!) Padlock points for bikes (cable type locks needed)

  • Lovely location lovely place.

    Justin2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a quiet getaway & Gilli's place ticked all the boxes - we had a lovely couple of nights at her beautiful place in the Gower in March. The weather was Scottish style driech, so not much of a view, but being inside was very pleasant with the log burning stove and central heating. Also well stocked with games, books and all the essentials. Plus a very welcoming welcome pack! The house is extremely comfy and spotlessly clean with beautiful clean white linen on the comfortable big bed and some rather nice paintings on the walls. Even though the weather wasn't great we had a go in the fab hot tub after a fantastic lunch at the Michelin-starred Beach House restaurant on Oxwich beach. Also worth mentioning the local pub, The King Arthur. And local Post Office with Welsh cheeses and bread. Gilli is making every effort cleanliness/coronavirus-wise but still greeted us warmly (from across the garden gate at a safe distance). Highly recommended and thank you.

  • We were meant to travel to Berlin this weekend however, due to the uncertainty of not being able to fly home we booked this wonderful air bnb for 2 nights. I can’t express enough how wonderful Gilli & Michael’s home is. Absolutely beautiful. Sparkling clean. Gorgeous views. Lovely touch with the fresh bread, jams, butter, coffee and milk. We even had the opportunity to soak in the hot tub to star gaze and snuggled up with the log burner in the cosy living room. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only downside was that we didn’t want to get out or leave. We will definitely be returning!! Thank you so much ❤️

  • What a beautiful Airbnb, very comfy and homely. The cold weather didnt put us off using the hot tub (which was already turned on when we arrived so no waiting around) and the log fire was the perfect way to warm back up afterwards... Gilly and Michael were the perfect hosts, very friendly and on hand when required both in person and quick to respond to messages. We were welcomed with some essentials provided (Bread, Milk, Tea, Coffee, etc...) The King Arthur pub is only about 350 metres from the house, where we had some lovely food and sunk a few drinks, good atmosphere and very welcoming, highly recommend... We will definitely be looking to come back to enjoy your lovely home again. Jon and Bex.

Bright and airy coastal house a few minutes walk from the no. 1 beach in the UK! Totally relax with some sea views, spectacular walks in national trust land all around, wonderful secluded beaches accessed across farmland, and a very well equipped, spacious home. This is my own home so not pristine luxury furnishings, rather beach house attire that is robust.
Very bright and spacious with 4 double sized bedrooms (2 King, 2 twin), large open plan sitting room and kitchen diner with Aga style cooker, sea views and very tranquil location. The property is not a commercial let and price at less that £20 per head is designed to reflect that. Meant for fun family relaxation without having to worry about things. If you want 5 star luxury with new furniture then this will not be the place for you.
Outstanding natural beauty with beaches, cliff and hill walks and wild ponies. The whole area is national trust owned to maintain its secluded perfection.
  • We had a wonderful family weekend at Kate's house. It was lovely and warm with sea views and within walking distance of the sea. It was very well equipped and very comfortable. It had a lovely big double room upstairs with sofa's and TV with a view of the sea with onsuite shower and toilet. We would highly recommend staying here.

    Philip2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is far more roomy than I expected. Beautifully clean, spacious, warm, beds very comfortable. Great sea views. Very practical flooring if you have a dog with you. Well positioned for walking the coast path and the local scenery is quite spectacular.

  • Such a beautiful house with so much space. Everything around is so close with just a short walk to Rhosilli Bay. We will definitely be going back!

  • A beautiful house with perfect glimpses of sea views. Well decorated with cosy touches and a very well equipped kitchen. Cooking on the Aga was an experience in itself! A safe and secure garden for dogs and children. Walking distance to beautiful beaches and countryside walks., plus cafes and museums etc etc. Perfect!

  • We had the best, most relaxing time at Kate’s place. The accommodation felt homely, and had the most amazing sea views. It’s situated just a short walk to Rhossili Bay, where you will also find great places to grab a coffee or have a bite to eat. Kate’s place is well equipped, bright and spacious. There were even games to keep the children amused! Highly recommend

  • We are a family of 5 - 3 teenage children + niece, nephew + sons girlfriend joined us too - so 8 adults fitted fine in this house. We have a tradition of going away between Christmas and New Year over the last few years to go for walks and play loads of board games. This house was ideal for this Had a great time. House was a perfect for us size for us. Wife appreciated the well stocked kitchen, I appreciated the location. We all appreciated the warmth of the house. The mattresses were very good quality too (I have a weak back - so often struggle when going away). Overall - perfect fit for our family. Did 3 coastal walks from the house itself without driving and 1 walk with driving about 20 mins. Nice open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen too. Recommend to any family looking for a base in the Gower

  • We had a lovely few days over Christmas. The place was really warm with all the home from home comforts and amenities to make a prefect roast dinner! We were fortunate with the weather as it was glorious on Christmas Day. We especially enjoyed our walk to the beach, which is not far at all. We hope to come back and stay in the summer. Xxxx

  • A perfect, cosy stay in the hut - not even storm Dennis could stop us enjoying this lovely spot! It was warm, dry and the most relaxing place to read a book, drink wine and listen to the rain. When the clouds cleared we got a superb night sky to gaze up at. The dogs also made themselves at home and none of us wanted to leave. The only thing to bear in mind is the shower/kitchen is a bit of a walk from the hut but I probably wouldn't mind this in dryer weather! Luckily the toilets are just a few steps away. Would definitely recommend and would love to return and explore the area more in the warmer months.

  • Staying at the Bake House was a real winter treat for us. It's located a short drive from the beach which meant easy access for surfing and had a brilliant little outside space to store surfboards and wetsuits. The cottage itself has all the amenities you need for a long weekend with ample cooking facilities and an amazing wood burner which kept the cottage nice and toasty. And it's walking distance to the local pub! Definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area and want somewhere quiet to relax and enjoy the coast.

Common Stone Barn is located in the picturesque Gower village of Llangennith. The village is located at the Western edge of the rugged Gower Peninsula. The area is famed for its stunning beaches and beautiful scenery. Common Stone Barn is ideally located in the centre of the village being situated within comfortable walking distance of the local pub and beach. Common Stone Barn was built in 2006 being based on the Old Rocket Cart House which is located on the foothills of Rhossili Bay. The barn was converted into living accommodation in 2013. If you have a larger party further accommodation can be arranged for you in our bed and breakfast. There are two double bedrooms which are accessed by a contemporary oak staircase; one of the bedrooms has a cabrio window balcony and the other with large velux windows with views across Rhossili bay towards Tenby. There is also a bed settee. There is a fully equipped kitchen which includes an electric hob and cooker, washing machine, fridge and toaster etc. There is a small breakfast bar and seating at a dining table for 4 people. Please note the price quoted is for 2 people there may be a slight addition for extra guests. Lounge area has a large corner settee, freeview TV and woodburning stove (free basket of logs provided). There is a large sun veranda and external deck area which includes a BBQ area. Off road parking for up to three vehicles.
  • Lovely cosy place for a bit of walking around the beautiful Gower Peninsular.

  • This was our second trip to Llangennith and the barn did not disappoint. Really well set up for a surf trip. The log burner and stunning decor make it a lovely place to spend time when the weather isn't on your side. A short drive to lots of great surf spots and a smashing village pub with a great menu and local beer. Steve and Pippa were excellent hosts. Super communication and very welcoming. Thanks again. Hope to come back again soon.

  • A wonderful stay in a beautiful house, couldn’t ask for a better location. Only thing to mention is the stairs to the bedrooms were quite steep and I was concerned for my mother who’s in her 70s. Apart from that I would thoroughly recommend!

    Fr Sebastian2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and well equipped with sea views from the bedrooms and close to a good pub. Remember to book if you want to eat in this popular venue. Also very pleasant outside space.

    Steph2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay! Kindly hosted by Steve & Pippa over the weekend. Only a 1 minute drive to the best beach in the U.K.! Can easily be walked, but we have young children so a concealed unit was necessary to keep them in one place for decanting onto the beach :) We could easily have stayed there for a week. I highly recommend a stay at Common Stone Barn. We’ll done guys, keep up the great work. xxx

  • A lovely little cottage really close to the beach. Perfect for a getaway with the family, we would definitely come back!

    Joanna2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this cozy, funky spot. Well equipped for a family of three. Lovely wood-burning stove to come home to at the end of a chilly but fantastic day of exploring the gorgeous local beaches. Three minute drive to a great little stoney beach. Had a little problem with a beeping smoke detector, but Steve (pippa’s husband) sorted it out cheerfully just moments after we called. Now that we’ve found this gem, it’s on our list of places to return in the summer.

  • We had a lovely time at the cottage. The beach very close by and despite the weather was still beautiful, and great for dog walks!

  • A wonderfully snug little cottage which is perfect for two people in a wonderful location for the coast path. There is a delightful garden for sitting in when the weather permits. The the cottage has all the amenities you would expect and the woodburner is a wonderful bonus and makes it all so cosy. I love the way space has been so cleverly used and it is such a relaxing place that I really did not want to leave!

  • Wonderful place to escape to for a few days. The cottage is perfectly located for walks along the coastal path and beach and there is a pub within walking distance (10 mins). The cottage itself is lovely and cosy, the space works so well and had everything we needed. Thank you, Kate!

  • I had spotted this little cottage whilst out on a walk on a previous Gower break and I had kept their business card, pleased to see it was suitable for 1-2 people (I have found in the past that most self-catering accommodation sleeps 4+ and is therefore priced accordingly). It is a lovely little cottage, small in size but cosy, with a warm rustic feel to it, comfortable and well designed, as well as thoroughly equipped. The wood burning stove is very enjoyable in the evenings (a must for me when I select accommodation) and the south facing garden, with table and chairs, is perfect when the sun comes out. The digital radio was a pleasant surprise and so was the extensive library of books and DVDs. The location is superb, with one of the most beautiful stretches of the coastal path just at the bottom of the field. The Middleton bus stop is just a few steps away, making it very easy to reach this cottage on public transport. Rhossili with its stunning beach and the Worm's Head pub, for a pint with breathtaking views, are also easy to reach on foot. A pretty detour on a footpath across the fields makes a pleasant 20 minute walk to the village, off the paved road. Owners Kate and Steve are very welcoming, as is their little dog Djenko. I make regular visits to the Gower, as I love walking in the area, and this little cottage makes a perfect base. Thank you!

  • Claire and Sian were wonderful hosts, my experience of staying with them was completely positive. The bedroom window opens to wonderful views. Penclawdd is well situated for exploring both Swansea and the western Gower villages, and, provided that there is a bus (and there are some!), it promises great outdoorsy days.

  • Perfect place for an overnighter if you're visiting the Gower or Swansea. Don't trust your satnav to find it however as it'll take you up a steep narrow dead end 200 yds away! Very friendly hosts were most welcoming & hospitable.

Situated in the heart of Llangennith, we offer a drop off and pick up service to the Luxurious Fairy Hill , Old walls and King Arthur wedding venues. Our beautiful, loved home nestled in the village of Llangennith, Gower, offers picturesque views of Rhossili Downs and Llangennith beach. By day the birds sing and fly over the sea and countryside and by night, the moon illuminates the waves and the quiet nature which surrounds us makes for a relaxing, soothing treatment for the soul.
For those of you looking to explore the area, we are 5 minutes’ drive (30 mins walk) from the exquisite Rhossili Bay, charming Broughton Bay and the enticing Blue Pool. For spectacular and stimulating cliff walks, we are also close to Burry Holms. Our home offers you the chance to get away from the city and relax in nature; the perfect remedy to calm the mind and truly unwind.
We are surrounded by nature, hills and the sea which make us an ideal place to stay for walkers and surfers. Many of the walking paths surrounding us are of a low gradient but there are more headier ones for the more experienced walkers. Just down the road is the 17th century Kings Head Inn which offers traditional ales and pub food. The air here is fresh and clean, due to the abundance of nature and the fact we are nestled in the Gower Peninsula – the first place in the UK to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956.
  • David and Flor are lovely people and most helpful hosts. We stayed with them to go surfing and they helped us with drying our wetsuits ready for the next day. Their house must have some of the best views in Llangennith. We were very well fed with a fabulous breakfast each morning. It is so peaceful and relaxing here and the bed is comfortable. We would like to come back soon, thanks

    Emma2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Waking up to the ocean views and eating David’s famous Welsh breakfasts was an extra treat to an already great stay! We booked for our anniversary and the special touches made it all the more special.

  • For me the people are what make a place special and with David and Flor as hosts, our stay was unforgettable! David and his wife Flor were charming, kind and generous. They went above and beyond to make a our stay the best experience possible. We had a fantastic wedding at Fairyhill. David provided a safe and punctual taxi service which was greatly appreciated (especially as we were running late!) David and Flor were so kind and charming throughout. They made us feel very comfortable and we were honestly sad to say goodbye. They also went above and beyond when we had difficulty with the flooded roads and for this we are eternally grateful!!! We both had a great night's sleep and the breakfast was superb. I could not recommend this place more strongly! 6 stars!!!!

    Samuel2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, fantastic host, lots of little touches and great information about the local area and things to do from David. Amazing view of the sunrise/sunset from the room, very comfortable and warm bed, and oh my, the breakfast... to die for... left very satisfied each morning, our compliments to the Chef (aka David). We were made to feel very welcomed, as if it were our home. Would definitely recommend!

    Sam2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, great breakfast and lovely to have little extras like shampoo and toothpaste as we had forgotten ours. Local pub food great.

    Carl2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks so much David for a wonderful stay! Your place was lovely and clean, views were stunning, lovely touches with water, tea and biscuits in the bedroom, comfy bed and pillows, silent, incredible breakfast with local products, we followed your suggestion of walking up the hill behind your house to find breathtaking views... I would absolutely recommend this place and you well deserve your super host status. Thanks again for everything 😊

This 18th Century Grade 2 Listed renovated Chapel provides a lovely and airy place for a couple to spend some quality time. The Chapel still contains the stain glass windows along with the pews now being utilised as the wooden floor. The open plan kitchen and living room focus on the vast log burner which blends seamlessly into the mezzanine floor containing a double bed and shower room over looking the vast living room space .
The vast floor space and high ceilings lend Y Chapel to spending time round the vast log burner in the winter months. In the summer months the close proximity to the beautiful beaches of the Gower, most reachable within 15 minutes, means you will want to keep returning to explore the area tome and time again.
A lovely rural setting nestled in the heart of the Gower providing quick access to the many beautiful beaches.

  • We loved our stay here, it had everything we needed for one night, and everywhere was within a close driving distance. The King Arthur Hotel and The Beach House at Oxwich Bay were both amazing places to eat out at. And being within such close driving distances of the beaches was great. I'm sure we will be back to visit the Gower again soon and would not hesitate to stay and also recommend Neil's place!

    Lynsey2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely annexe in the heart of the Gower. We saw wild ponies on the marshes as we drove down. Neil and Sally are so hospitable and kind, we really felt like welcomed guests. We had a lovely walk on nearby Oxwich Bay and Neil had plenty of recommendations for eateries etc. He also offered to drive us to our car in the morning if we’d wanted to have a few drinks. The space is clean and comfortable and has everything you need, including a spacious fridge, crockery and a sink for washing up (separate from bathroom). We will be returning, hopefully for longer next time. Thanks for a memorable weekend guys! 😊

  • Great place to stay right on the estuary - very comfortable, everything you need, and very clean. Didn’t realise that there were no cooking facilities there, but made no difference really! The hosts were very friendly, we enjoyed a glass of wine in their lovely home, and they were more than happy to help us with taxi firms etc. Very comfortable bed, amazing log burner, plenty of hot water (much appreciated after a long day walking the incredible beaches of the Gower coast, and exploring the castle ruins). Highly recommend this little guest house. And definitely recommend a cwtch from Dot the dog! Thank you both!

  • This was a lovely, quiet, relaxing place to stay. It worked very well for us as we were visiting family in the area. It's a good place to stay to visit Gower, enjoy the scenery & take me scenic walks. Sally was an excellent hostess & we had all we needed. We were very comfortable & hope to visit again.

    Steven2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sally is an outstanding and flawless host. She has gone beyond normal expectations in making us feel at home. She had kept things for breakfast which is usually not included in majority of places. Her place was neat and comfortable and we did not feel we were away from home even a little bit. Her house location is excellent with many places to visit at a walking distance ( Pennard Castle, Three Cliffs bay, Pobbles bay, etc) for people who prefer hikes. For people with a car it's like heaven on earth. The Premere shop is at a 4 mins walking distance which has sufficient stock for basic grocery needs. If you do not have a car please keep in mind the bus schedules as the number 14 bus is scheduled only once per hour. We will definitely be back!

I haven’t been here since I was a little girl and this place did not disappoint! I would highly recommend staying here! Sally was really lovely throughout the whole process and extremely helpful! 👍🏼

  • I enjoyed my stay in Sally’s comfortable room, the breakfast was delicious and the hot shower very welcome after a days walking. But the best thing about this place is its location 5 mins walk away from the coast path with coffee shop/ pub nearby too. Sally was very helpful with local information and I sorted myself out walking along the coast and catching a bus back.

Sally left cereal ,bread and jams and even fresh fruit. There was orange juice ,tea, coffee and plenty of milk. Would definitely recommend, you wont be disappointed. Nigel and Denise

A delightful stone cottage we call the Stable. The house was build in the 1700’s, just perched above the village green. Our holiday accommodation boasts spectacular estuary sea views. We are located just 100m from two dog friendly country pubs. Llanrhidian Marsh is part of the Welsh Coastal Path, ideal for walkers. Adjcent to our home is the local church. Our holiday accommodation is ideally positioned in Gower close to wedding venues and for holidaying by the seaside. NO EXTRA CLEANING CHARGES.
The Space. A small but unique country style two floor open plan self catering cottage, with a double ensuite bedroom. The lower floor has a living area with a kitchenette. Includes: (Portable oven, 2 stove cooking elements. A microwave, Tefal chip fryer. Plus a toaster, kettle and fridge.) We also provide complimentary tea, coffee and milk. Plus a cereal pack. Number of guests. The cottage is ideal for 2 guests but has a sofa bed option for a further 2 guests (£20 extra charge per guest over 2 persons. Extra bedding and towels will be provided.) N.B the ensuite shower & toilet is to be shared by all guests. There is a TV with DVD player. We have a selection of DVDs, plus a small library of books. There is an electric fireplace with steam effect flames. Parking. We try to keep a space free just outside our house. Although we do appreciate that 1 Space is kept free for our neighbour who drives a grey volvo. He parks near his house opposite. However it can be busy with weddings so if you are struggling to park then please let me know and I can arrange a space at the rear of our cottage to park. Dogs. Dogs are very welcome to stay free of charge. Max 2. Dogs are not to be left alone at the property. Guest privacy. We respect guests privacy and please make yourselves at home. Soon as you have your front door key you are free to come and go as you please. In the late summer evenings its lovely to sit outside on the garden furniture looking out at the estuary sea views. With a glass of your favourite tipple. All we ask in return is to consider the neighbours. If you require any further information and tips of local knowledge then please drop us a text on the airbnb app. Alternatively you can knock on our door. We are very friendly and we always enjoy meeting our guests.
Some people miss out on magical places because they head straight for the beaches and who can blame them. However Llanrhdian village has some amazing senary that attracts walkers from near and far. Weobley Castle is easy reachable from Llanrhdian, just a 30 to 40 minute walk along the Welsh Coastal Path. And finally not forgetting the Dolphin Inn beer garden, one of the best beers gardens on Gower.
  • This is the first time we stayed at this accommodation. We booked for one night with the intention to explore the local area. The accommodation was in an ideal location for exploring the local beaches and sights. It was around 10 minutes away from the Three Cliffs Bay and Whiteford Beach. The accommodation itself was easily big enough for two people and was exceptionally clean. The kitchen is small but well equipped. We went to The Welcome Inn (which was a stone throw away) for dinner. They served typical pub grub which was nice but a little pricey. Overall we had a lovely stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back! Thank you!

    Lauren2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Airbnb, would highly recommend. The cottage was spotlessly clean and really nicely decorated. Communication from the hosts was excellent as well.

    Alicia2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay.

    Ruth2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The stable was a perfect size for two in an ideal location and the fact you can take your dog was a massive factor in choosing this accommodation. The hosts provide thoughtful little touches like a highlighted map of things to see, cereals, proper coffee, milk and welsh cakes. It was super clean and everything clear and easy to use. Don't panic when you can't see a hob or oven as these are portable to use if you want to cook, however there are two great pubs within an easy walk which are dog friendly too so eating out is an easy option.

    Tansy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A sparkling clean and well designed little cottage with a nice garden space which would be nice in the summer! We did miss not having an oven, but would cater with that in mind next time!

  • Fantastic place, the beach is beautiful, a lot of castles and history a short (10-20 minute) drive, Swansea is 25 minute drive for nice meals. The house is amazing, no other word to describe it. Only downside is wifi connection is really poor so tv streaming didnt work or tablet (DVDs are provided though and CEX is down the road where we brought some of our own too).

    Chad2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage close to centre of village and walking distance to harbour and beach. Like home from home with plenty of kitchen equipment to use. Great communication with owner, before and through our stay. Loads of info in the cottage about the local area and all equipment in the house.

  • Driftwood Cottage is fantastically positioned for exploring the Gower and beyond. It is wonderfully equipped with more than you would expect. We stayed with our dog and she loved walking along the nearby beaches and with dog bowls, towels and poo bags all provided. What more can you ask for. We had a great time

    Paul2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Driftwood Cottage is a comfortable and well equipped home with easy access to Camarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. It's a great base for a family with dogs as it is easy to keep clean and has an enclosed garden. The cottage has been tastefully renovated to a high standard and it was exceptionally clean and well maintained. There is a lovely beach and local amenities within walking distance and Pembrey Country Park is amazing. Highly recommended.

    Jane2019-10-17T00:00:00Z

Lovely front of house room with a great view out towards the sea and the Gower Peninsula. It has a Victorian oak paneled library, feature fireplace ( not in use), new cast iron radiator, desk and various chairs. It was the music and study room but with all 3 girls finished with studies now it is rarely used. We usually have fresh eggs for sale and goats milk to sample. Our home was featured on TV in the Channel 5 series To B and B the best, episode 21 if you would like to see it and us!
Comfortable double bed. The library has the original oak paneled wall and a fireplace which is not for use. There are chairs in order to relax, read a book or browse the internet plus a desk for catching up on any paperwork. WiFi and ethernet cable. Private tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary 'welshcakes'. The bathroom facilities are in the cloakroom through the huge luxury kitchen/diner which includes a shower. TV and DVD. A travel cot and highchair is available on request.
Bronllys Farm is one of the original dwellings in the village. We are set up a short hill from the main coastal road. The private grounds of Bronllys Farm are peaceful and private and have a panoramic view over the Loughor Estuary towards the Gower Peninsula that cause gasps of approval. It is a quiet location on the edge of the village with surrounding farmland. This a great base to explore the coast, castles and countryside of the region. The city of Swansea and ancient Carmarthen are within easy access. We have a small convenience store in the village, a Co op supermarket and a lovely pub/restaurant, The Bryngwyn, plus a few other pubs. Nearby bustling Llanelli has all amenities and many large supermarkets. Burry Port with its picturesque harbour and lighthouse has a well stocked Coop supermarket and plenty of smaller shops, cafes and pub eating places. I'll give you a map of the main locations and some recommended places to eat but please just ask if you require any other tips and advice.

  • We spent a wonderful time in this B&B, we felt better then at home, and Pippa and Steve are very kind and helpful.

    Domenico2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We've spent an amazing weekend at Pippa's, the place is amazingly colourful and warming and we felt immediately at home. Pippa and his husband are extremely kind and helpful, we were in late and managed to do a very late checkin without problem. They are open for a chat, friendly and they gave us tips to explore the area and Wales in general. The location is super nice, in the middle of the Welsh nature but close to any amenities and super close to the beach of Llangennith. Moreover if you'r driving from south west uk, consider this as the perfect intermediate stop to explore the Gower Peninsula before going in Pembrokshire, this is what we did and it was the right choice. Highly recommended :) Diolch!

Ideal location in a woodland setting, a perfect base to explore Carmarthenshire. A small one up, one down, compact, rustic, cozy, detached cottage set in a rural quiet location, next to a brook. There is a pub within a 5-minute walk. Warm in front of the log burner in the winter or relax on a sun-filled patio in the summer. 8 miles from the Wales oldest town, Carmarthen, close to Pembrey country park & superb Beach, Ffos Las Racecourse, Kidwelly Castle, Llansteffan & Botanic gardens
The cottage is compact and quaint with everything you need for a relaxing visit to Wales. The cottage has one bedroom with a double bed, a small shower room , a kitchen lounge with dining a table and a log burner. Dvds only. Outside are views over the valley, a patio area looking on to the brook and a chiminea. There are 2 dogs at the property but they do not have access to Brook Cottage. Please note.. The cottage is situated right on a lane, it is very quiet but care must be taken when entering and leaving the cottage.
The cottage is perfectly located, an enjoyable leisurely stroll down the lane over an ancient bridge and river to the local pub. We recommend the local pub, the food is home cooked and the locals don't bite :) There is a shop a mile and a half away with a post office, petrol, and chemist. Also, there are some good places to eat within a 2-mile radius plus very good taxi service. There are many places to visit, the National Botanical gardens are a short drive away and Carmarthen holds the Antique fairs once a month at the Carmarthen showground. The Cynheidre Railway is 2 miles away for railway enthusiasts. You can go further a field, Tenby is only 45 minutes away and a visit to Narberth is a must. The Ffos Las racecourse holds many events each year and is hugely popular. Closer by LLanelli wetlands are worth a visit and so is Burry port with its new Lifeboat station and great fish and chips. Pembrey country park 5 miles away has everything, acres of woodland to cycle, a fabulous Beach framed by sandunes. The renown Glynn Abbey golf course is 2 miles away,

  • Just wow, lovely hosts in a friendly village, great location base for days out. Great value little cottage.

    Rob2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Keri was there to greet us and showed us around the cottage - she was very welcoming and gave us lots of info about the local area and recommended some days out. The cottage is very cosy, just what we wanted and better than we had expected. They had put out some wine and fresh flowers which was a lovely touch. The cottage has everything you need in the compact space - they have thought of everything! We chilled out by the fire and watch a film, had breakfast in bed and the cottage also has a nice patio area with a BBQ which we used one evening. We used the log burner and Keri was quick to offer help with this. We did lots of exploring but also spent time relaxing and chilling out in the cottage. We went to the Incline Inn for dinner one evening (10 mins down the road walking) and they were very friendly and the food was delicious. We also had a carvery on the Wednesday at the rugby club which again was delicious (about 5 min drive). We visited Kidwelly castle - can explore the castle and has lovely views. Burry Port which has a beautiful sandy beach. The botanic gardens which had an incredible bird show and The mumbles in Swansea which is a pretty costal town. Overall we have a lovely stay at the cottage and would love to return. Thank you so much for having us.

My place is very close to the beach (3 minute walk), Wales Coastal Path (1 minute walk) and Oxwich Bay Hotel (3 minute walk). You’ll love my place because of the privacy, ambience, outdoors space (backdrop of a wood), neighbourhood, and 50 Mbs FTTP Wifi. It is good for couples or a family, for the beach, or lots of walks, or functions at Oxwich Bay Hotel. Enjoy the 1st AONB in UK with the world's 2nd highest tidal rang on the doorstep, and a Gower Ambassador host.
You have a large lounge come dining area with a well equipped kitchen. The sofa changes into a double bed, in addition to the two singles or one Superkingsize-width bed in the bedroom.
A small village beside the beach
  • An excellent base for exploring the Gower! Very well appointed flat with everything a couple or family with small children would need.

    Tom2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Claire’s flat is tasteful, comfortable, very convenient for the beach, and spotlessly clean. The bed is very comfortable, and the bed linen is lovely. Claire adds lots of nice touches .. flowers, fresh eggs, maps, etc etc, (and on this visit a range of antiviral sprays and wipes!). This was our second visit, and we plan to return.

    Fiona2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Good hospitality, great local knowledge, fab location (2 mins from the beach), really recommend 😀

    Emma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at the house for a wedding at Oxwich Bay hotel and the local is absolutely perfect. The house itself has everything you could need, a lovely space for a weekend trip. Claire was very helpful and accommodating, couldn't fault a thing

    Jenna2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This one bedroom (plus sofa bed) cosy annex to Alan and Claire's home is a superb stay. Information beforehand was excellent, especially lots of messages about the status of the area in the middle of storm Dennis just as we were due to arrive. The location on Oxwich bay is perfect. We walked to the stunning Three Cliffs bay and back, with gorgeous light, a rainbow and big skies (small detour for lunch at the Gower Inn). We also took a bus to Rhossili (bus stop two mins from house) and hiked back all along the coastal path, about ten miles. With a stop in the pub in Port Eynon. In Oxwich itself here's a fancy beach house for Michelin starred food, or the Oxwich hotel for a bit lower key but we didn't make it to either. The apartment itself has underfloor heating throughout so it's super cosy. It was lovely to arrive to milk, juice, bread, tea, coffee and two hearty slices of Barabrith! Alan's enthusiasm for the area is infectious, and his knowledge encyclopedic. He even managed to lend us a coat when my son forgot to bring his! All in all, a lovely, homely, comfy stay in a superb location, with lovely hosts. Thank you so much!

    Laura2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Good communication, Claire and Alan seem to care a lot about their guests, I felt very welcomed. Would definitely recommend if you're an outside person though there isn't a lot more to Oxwich than the beach/walks, but if that's what you're looking for you've found the place.

    Cormac2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent time at Claire & Alan's, and fantastic orientation chat on arrival. The place was sparkling clean and the location is amazing - a stone's throw from the beach. Plus views over a delicious garden. Thank you for your great hosting A&C! We will be back.

    Alex2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous stay and loved the location for our walking trips along the coast. The house was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed for our weekend. Was lovely to meet Alan and hear the local tips too! We’ll be back! :)

  • Highly recommend. Marian is lovely lady and the cottage is very clean and well equipped. Marian goes the extra mile to make your stay comfortable (apart from the yummy homemade scones she sourced me some chamomile tea!)

  • Super location and wonderful property. Marian, the owner was really good at responding to my queries and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

  • Such a brilliant space, its renovated ti a high standard. The kitchen was brilliant, like the fact theres a hair dryer as well! Brilliant location close to sone of the most stunning uk coastline I've seen (only 7.5 miles away at Rhossili) Marian was so helpful as well. There is a local shop close by, but worth visiting supermarkets in Llanelli on your way through. All in all a brilliant stay and will be visiting again to explore lots more of the Gower!

  • A warm, cosy & welcoming cottage in a beautiful location with everything we needed for an all too brief stay. Marion was quick to respond to any queries, & very helpful contacting relatives on our behalf as there was no phone signal. A rail by the 2 steps into the property then level & step free accomodation made it the perfect place to stay with my Mum who has mobility issues. We're already planning dates to return!

  • We had a fantastic stay. The photos and description of the cottage are very accurate so you know just what to expect. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and practical. We especially loved the view of sea from every room and the perfect layout of kitchen/living room which meant we could cook and relax at the house in the long winter nights. It's a short walk to a nice local pub, and of course the beach (although we drove as our stay was mid-winter). Communication with Duncan was quick and easy.

    Abi2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, clean, tidy. Great location. Defiantly would stay again

    James2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Another fantastic week in the Gower. This is the perfect location for us to explore the area. The house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and very quiet. For once the Gower weather was kind, although we did get caught in a couple of Gower showers! A few highlights: walking over Rhossilli Down and back along the beach, Mewslade Bay, and the salt marshes, national trust reserve and tea room at Llanmadoc (Cwm Ivy). Definitely did not want to come home. Thank you.

    Lee2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Duncan’s place is in an excellent location in one of our favourite places on the Gower Peninsula. The cottage is light and airy; clean, tidy, well equipped and well appointed. It’s the perfect holiday let. There are no essentials in the kitchen in the way of tea/ coffee, so do bring your own if that’s your inclination. We arrived on a stormy weekend; we enjoyed being warm and dry and having space to store wet coats and boots was a bonus (& wetsuits!). That area could only be improved with running water for rinsing muddy / sandy / seawater from these items. Beds were comfy - plenty of hot water for four adults & lots of entertainment (board games, books, Xbox, DVD & Blu-Rays etc). Wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks for fabulous stay!

    Vicky2018-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy the peace and quiet of such a beautiful part of the world. It’s clean and well equipped with great open plan living space. Some amazing views from all the windows. There’s a large screen TV with Xbox and Blu-ray player if you’d like to veg out on a rainy day. There’s loads of garden space, and a patio with views of Worm’s head. The beach is magnificent and you can tell the locals cherish it as it’s spotless. The local pub, the Kings Head has a nice beer garden out the front, which is a bit of a sun trap. The food they serve is classic pub food done well, without trying too hard. We’re definitely hoping to come back again in the future.

    Dan2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This house has stunning views out over the coastline and is very well equipped, from places to storing/dry wet kit and surfboards to a kitchen that you can cook a roast dinner in! The local pub provides great food if you want to eat out and has a massive selection of gin! We will definitely be coming back for our next surf trip.

  • Our 3rd visit to this house in 3 years and it never let's us down. Perfect size for a family of 4. Spacious, cosy and wonderfully equipped. A charming house in a charming village. The walk over the downs and back along Rhossilli beach wad just perfect. The Kings Head pub is well worth a visit. And a real bonus was beautiful weather...in February. Thank you.

Off grid yurt accommodation with bedding for up to five, with stunning views overlooking Rhossilli Bay. This accommodation is unique and a great place to get away from it all, occupying a half acre field with orchard.
The yurt (6m diameter) is set in it's own half acre field of semi - woodland and Orchard. There is a clean compost loo with hand basin and running water. There is an unheated 'alfresco' shower off the back of the deck, and also access to a free hot shower a 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive away. Ice packs and coolbox are provided. Bedding is included and there is 12v lighting inside the yurt and toilet, provided by a small solar/battery system. Your first basket of logs for the wood burner is included, further logs are available for a modest fee. It's only a 10/20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to either Boughton or Llangennith beaches where there are campsite shops. The local pub (The Kings' Head) is a 10 minute walk away where you can sample a range of locally brewed beers and a comprehensive menu. There is a childrens (and adults) play area/sports field behind the village hall opposite the Kings Head on the corner.
From the yurt you can access footpaths to Llanmadoc Hill (on the other side of the hill is The Britannia Inn, Llanmadoc, which is another very good pub that serves great food). Rhossilli Down is within walking distance and you can walk to Rhossilli along the beach or over the top of the hill, from where you can cross the causeway to Worms Head (2.5 hours either side of low tide - check at the coastguard hut). You can walk down the lane from the yurt then connect with footpaths to take you down to Llangennith and Broughton beaches.
  • Amazing space to spend the weekend it. The perfect spot for a little bit of quiet!

    Dan2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is gorgeous! Three of us stayed here for two nights and we were very comfortable and warm, and the log burner really made the place feel so cosy. The eco loo worked really well and we were pleasantly surprised that it didn't smell, it was also very well supplied with loo paper. Keith also supplied us with bottled water as the tap water is not drinkable (it is rain water for hand washing). There is no hot water at the yurt but we took our hot showers at the campsite down the road, and that was easy. The beaches are stunning, and the walk out to Worm's Head at Rhossili is well worth it, but check tide times first as you have to cross a causeway. Also, you need to be reasonably fit and steady to make this crossing as the terrain is quite tricky. The Kings Head pub in the village serves really good food and they'll do take outs too. We really loved staying in the yurt and we will plan to return sometime next year to explore more of the glorious Gower.

    Ruth2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had read all the reviews and could not quite believe it'd be as good as all 5 stars. But we fell in love with this place immediately. SO stylish and comfy, it made me harken for a simpler life and I was sad to leave. Nothing but crusty bread, soft cheese and wine all weekend followed by long comfy sleeps. Even the grass was the softest under bare foot that I've ever experienced! I want a yurt!!!!

    Thomas2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The communication from Keith for start to finish was excellent with easy to follow directions and check in information. The yurt was in a lovely secluded spot and was immaculately clean. It’s about a 15 min walk down to the beach and about 10 min down to the local pub(which is excellent). Can’t recommend the yurt enough, will definitely e booking again.

    Thomas2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Keith's idyllic yurt in the perfect setting! A really great space for a peaceful escape with lots of lovely beaches to explore nearby.

    Heather2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • So well hidden, no one could know you were there and your views are of dunes, trees and the sea.. not one sign of a house or caravan... magical!

    Madeleine2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was really fantastic. When we got off the bus we followed Keith’s clear directions up the country lane and found the gate to Hayes Field. The plot of land has levels including the and orchard, fire pit and upper level with yurt, eco toilet and decking with sensational views across the farmland and beach. The yurt itself is spacious, warm, homely and has extra touches to make the stay great. The view when waking up and walking out onto the decking is just fab! The local area is lovely and the locals are so friendly. The King’s Head Pub is a 10 minute stroll away and has lovely beer and food and also good coffee and views! We spent our time exploring the farmland. We walked freely to Llanmadog and then Rhossili they next day. Over 40Km and the yurt was the perfect base to come home and relax. We successfully got a fire going in the fire pit and made nice tea in tins! We cannot wait to stay again in this excellent, eco-friendly spot! Thanks again!

Enjoy the spectacular setting of our cosy bungalow on the beautiful Gower coast, within Britain's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The quaint village of Llanmadoc with its popular pub, churches, local shop and two cafes is a short walk away, as is the lovely long stretch of golden beach at Whiteford Sands and Broughton Bay.
The Manse porch enters into a small kitchen diner with a sofa, dining table and fitted kitchen. We have one double bedroom with its own en suite shower and toilet. The second bedroom has one bunk bed with an additional pull out mattress to sleep 3 (these are shorter than standard length measuring 5 ft 4 inches, so more suited to children or shorter adults). There is one full size single bed. The second bedroom also has its own shower and toilet. The cottage provides cosy living space for four people but also allows for an excellent opportunity to sleep up to seven people at a very competitive price.
The Brittania pub in the village serves really good quality food, and the community run village shop serves home made cakes and local produce. Cwm Ivy is a lovely area for exploring alongside St Madoc site and its own Cafe serves delicious home-cooked food and cakes, and sells an assortment of local crafts. Gower itself has many places ideal for visitors, from castles like Weobley a short drive from the cottage, Pennard and Oxwich, ancient churches, Iron-Age standing stones and Heritage Centres – like the one at Parkmill. Worm’s Head off Rhossili Beach can be seen from the St Madoc Centre, and is well worth a visit. For a more lively experience the picturesque and bustly village of Mumbles at the far end of Swansea Bay is great for small boutique shops, and a wide choice of eateries. There are many walks and hikes marked on Gower to ensure avid walkers enjoy a different view every day.
  • Great location. Perfect for walks along the beach and into the village. Great for our family of four children. Lots of space and the bungalow was cosy and clean.

    Sian2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely spot! We were two adults and two children, the house is compact but was perfectly suited to us. It was warm and cosy with everything we needed. There is a beautiful beach just a short wall away. The kids loved playing football on the grass outside and we were even given a chance to see the newly hatched chicks. We will definitely book again in the future.

    Helen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a great stay - it was warm, comfortable, clean and spacious for our little family. Our toddler loved the St Madoc Centre and the beautiful beach is so close. Thanks for making us so welcome and providing everything that we needed.

  • Really wonderful stay highly recommend :-) :-)

    James2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely space, clean and well fitted out, it would be particularly good for a family with a few kids, two bathrooms is very handy! The beach is within easy walking distance although it is a bit of a climb down and back up from it, but that's been my experience of most beaches in the Gower. It is very rural with some very small roads leading up to it, which is exactly what I wanted, proper dark night sky and only able to hear the sea and the birds/animals no machines or roads, it was lovely! I would definitely go back for a longer stay.

    Sarah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for anyone who wants to be out in the country and have a bit of peace and quiet. It was great value for money for a group of 5 for one night. Keep in mind that this location is quite remote and you will likely need to be able to drive to get to the closest amenities.

    Dan2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice property surrounded by breathtaking views of the countryside. A nice quiet place to stay :)

    Sam2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious bungalow a few minutes walk from deserted beaches and cliff top walks on the doorstep. The comgortable bungalow had everything we needed and also use of outdoor facilities including table tennis, tennis court, giant chess, volleyball. We were lucky that we had all 76 acres on site to ourselves as no one else was staying. So peaceful. Robert the caretaker checked on us to make sure we were ok and bought us some of his chickens eggs. Wish we could have stayed longer

We have a small convenience store in the village and a lovely pub/restaurant, The Bryngwyn, plus a few other pubs.
  • A lovely place to stay with a homely feel. It was in a beautiful location with a view of sea. Vic has extensive knowledge of the area and was more than willing to give recommendations for the rest of our trip. We appreciated their hospitality. (We also loved getting to know their lovely dog).
