Places to stay in Llanfynydd
Lan chalet sits on part of our 13 acre smallholding with it's own access off a country lane to a gravel parking area, large garden and raised decked area where you can see our two alpacas and take in the view. Lan Chalet is situated in Broad Oak just 3 miles from the picturesque town of Llandeilo where you will find an abundance of award winning pubs, unique shops, and bistro cafes. Just on the edge of Llandeilo is Dinefwr Castle and Newton House which is a great day out for all the family.
The Chalet has an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, the great thing about this space is the two large bay windows where you can sit and watch our alpacas and pet sheep whilst taking in all the views. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Off the hall are three bedrooms each sleeping 2 people, two with double beds and one with two single beds. There are also two bathrooms one with a shower and one with a bath. On the side of the Chalet is a porch room with a washing machine and plenty of room for your muddy boots after your walks. Outside there are flat and sloped grassed areas leading down to the alpacas field where our very friendly pet sheep will often come up to the fence for a stroke. There is also a raised decked area with table and chairs for 6 people so you can sit outside and enjoying the view and relax whilst the kids and dogs can run around and play.
There are plenty of dog friendly beaches as you head towards the coast. Our favourite being Pembrey country park and beach which is a 40 minute drive and boasts 8 miles of golden sandy beach and 500 acres of woodland to explore, perfect for cycling. Within the country park there is a dry ski slope, toboggan ride, crazy golf, minture train rides and adventure play area. If you are looking for a more relaxed day Aberglasney Gardens is just a 7 minute drive away which is one of Wales' finest gardens. The national botanical Gardens of Wales is a 20 minute drive away and offers dog friendly days every Monday and 1 weekend a month (check their site for more info and dates). National trust dolacothi gold mines is a 30 minute drive away, great for dogs with lots of walks and kids will love it there exploring the old gold mines. Carreg Cennan Castle is a 20 minute drive and a great place to visit if you want to venture onto the Brecon Beacons. For those of you who like mountain biking or are looking for a great dog walk Brechfa Forest is a 30 minute drive and offers lots of mountain biking trails and walking routes.

  • Grace is a wonderful hostess, responding very quickly to messages and going the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and safe during our stay. All kitchen equipment is provided as are bathroom amenities - we had no problems at all cooking an evening meal. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, matching the surrounding countryside beauty & peacefulness - it is a lovely location. The bed was amazingly comfortable & I certainly slept well! It was lovely to sit and watch the singing birds outside flittering to the bird feed in the morning. Thank you!

Spent most of my stay looking out at the birds, squirrels, cats and the view. Perfect stay. We will be back!

  • Helen's place is a little gem. I booked this for my daughters birthday to switch off and enjoy some time together. The hut has everything you need, and the log burner makes it very cosy indeed. The welshcakes, fresh eggs and BBQ pack were great. The books and games kept us entertained for hours. The hot shower was a real treat. We hope to visit Helen and her family again, not forgetting all of the friendly animals too.

  • Wow what a place. We’ve had such a restful stay. Due to a storm we arrived later than planned so Helen lit the fire and a candle, and put hot water bottles in the bed for us. Such lovely thoughtful touches. The cabin is super cosy, has everything you need, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The home made welsh cakes on arrival were lovely, and coupled with the amazing welcome we received made the stay awesome. I would definitely stay again. We went for dinner locally to the Angel and that was lovely. But just being able to switch off, and enjoy the tranquility was a wonderful but very rare treat. Thank you so much Helen.

Spacious and comfortable, the cottage is a converted barn with a wood burning stove. Located up a rural lane with stunning views to the Black Mountain and the western edge of the Brecon Beacons. Three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin bedded. Very quiet, but only two miles from the A40 and 7.5 miles from Carmarthen. Please note that the per night rate quoted is for up to 2 guests, there is an extra charge for each further guest. You will see the total per night cost when you enter your number of guests.
This cottage is rurally located and full of charm it overlooks a marshy sheep meadow. (Waun-yr-Ewig is Welsh for "The marshy meadow of the female deer") There are fantastic views and you can enjoy quiet countryside walks. There is a large lounge with a vaulted ceiling, a bathroom with bath / shower and toilet, and a second toilet in the utility room. A breakfast / dining area is located in the sun room, there is a fully equipped kitchen and a utility room with washer and dryer. The cottage is family friendly and we have a cot, a crib, a stair guard and fire guard available. We are happy to provide toys for todlers and have those available on request. The garden is safe for children and we provide table and chairs for your use.
The cottage is located in a very rural area, up an unnamed road from the A40 at Pontargothi. Carmarthen is 7.5 miles West and Llandeilo 7 miles East on the A40 from Pontargothi. The village of Nantgaredig is on the way to Carmarthen and has the Railway Hotel in Station Road, which is great for Sunday lunch and evening meals. In Pontargothi itself is The Salutation, a great pub for food and the local Felinfoel ales, especially the famous Double Dragon on draught. A couple of miles the other side of the Tywi River, on the way to the National Botanic Gardens of Wales is Y Polyn, a very well regarded gastro pub, again great for a Sunday lunch. Carmarthen is the oldest town in Wales, and has a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and entertainment including a Vue multiplex cinema and a theatre. All the multiples are represented, there is a Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl etc.
  • Great location for a quiet break away but also close enough to plenty of towns etc.

  • We loved our stay at this beautiful cottage. Stayed during a storm and it was the perfect place to relax in the bad weather! Fire was lit when we arrived and a new basket of wood was given to see us through the weekend the following day. Great communication with the hosts who couldn’t do enough for you, I would definitely recommend and we look forward to returning soon!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Jeannette and Steve's place. They were great at explaining the location. They live next door and showed us around when we arrived, but otherwise were unobtrusive. The space was lovely for the two of us but would have been great for 5 or 6 people too. The main central lounge space was spacious yet cosy, and the wood burning stove was fabulous.

  • Great stay whilst attending a wedding in Carmarthen, hosts went out of there way to be helpful

    David2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stylish place with plenty of room and plenty of amenities for our short stay. Used this place for a base as we was having our first child in glangwilli so didn't get a chance to see much of the local area but we did manage a meal on the first night in y polin which was 7 minutes away and definitely worth a visit. Stephen greeted us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. Lovely peaceful setting.

  • Lovely accommodation. Clean and spacious. Suited us for our short stay would recommend

  • Excellent accommodation with every thing you would possibly need for a warm and comfortable stay. Wonderful hosts, very helpful and very quick to respond to requests. The cottage is very quiet and rural but not to far from the town of Carmarthen with all of its amenities. Dog friendly too. We would definitely book here again if in the area.

Grade II listed, the small, but perfectly formed Glandulas Lodge is possibly the most charming, pink, octagonal property available on Airbnb in South West Wales. Right beside the A40 in the beautiful Tywi (Towy) Valley between Carmarthen and Llandeilo, it is ideally suited to walkers - being situated between the Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire Coast National Parks, and the Gower Peninsula. The Tywi and Cothi are renowned as the best sewin (sea trout) fishing rivers in the United Kingdom.
Glandulas Lodge consists of a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove (first basket of wood is provided free of charge), dining table, and TV. The bedroom contains a king-size bed and ample storage. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, dishwasher, and washing machine. The bathroom has a bath/shower. The lodge is centrally heated and has WiFi available throughout. Bed linen and towels are provided. Outside is a large garden with chairs and a table, and parking for one car.
Carmarthen is our nearest large town - 10 miles away - and has two large supermarkets as well as all the standard High Street shops and a multiscreen cinema. Llandeilo is only five miles away and is a small, pretty town full of pastel-shaded houses and mostly independent shops, art galleries, restaurants and bars. A local community-run shop and post office is a 20 minute walk from the lodge. For garden lovers, Aberglasney and Wales's National Botanical Gardens are within a few miles, while Llanelli’s Millennium Coastal Path provides miles of traffic-free cycle paths. The county is full of ruined castles including (amongst others) atmospheric Carreg Cennen, Llansteffan, Kidwelly, and our own local castle at Dryslwyn - just one mile down the road.
  • A beautiful space and location for exploring Carmarthenshire.

  • The lodge was very well appointed and very cosy. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend. Martin was very hospitable - leaving us some welcome treats - which were much appreciated.

    Abby2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful and historical place was the perfect house to stay for us. It is centrally located in rural Wales, and is an old charm to stay at. A grade two listed building, it was very well equipped and warm for our chosen winter visit. Heated by both hydronic and wood fire heating made the stay even more homely. And after a couple of long days out driving the coastal roads and national parks, the hot bath was very welcomed. Although Martin left a detailed list of places to eat out, the kitchen was really practical and easy to cook in. We went to markets and purchased local foods and cooked at the house for part of our stay. We enjoyed a couple of scotch whiskey’s by the fire and slept really well in the super quiet and warm room. Hardly a sound to be heard. You will need a car to stay here, and that’s why we chose this place. Drive, explore and come home to relax and wind down. Thanks also for the welcome basket of goodies. Perfect base to explore!

    Darren2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is an absolute gem. If you're after a quiet quirky getaway this is it. Comfy bed and bedroom, snug living room (loads of books - so many and so little time to read them all!) with a brilliant wood burner (dog collapsed to dreamsville each night after a day's walking in front of it - come to think of it so did we!). Compact but well-appointed kitchen with ample room for cooking (and I'm fussy when it comes to cooking) - ample pans, pots, utensils, I was in cooking nirvana! (Hint: great salt marsh lamb if you head west to the Gower). Great hosts, everything we needed was there - and really nice thoughts like a pint of milk, small loaf of bread, treats for us (and treats for the dog too!). Our only problem is sorting out a date when we can go back there.

    Steve2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tiny bit perfectly formed. Warm and cosy, quirky in all the right ways. Pictures and books; a wonderful comfy bed; and amazing shower. Remember your slippers for in front of the fire. Wonderful local walks; a pleasure

  • Just gorgeous! The little pink house won't disappoint, we loved staying there and I'm sure we will be back! Sitting by the fire of an evening, it was the perfect getaway! The Local area is gorgeous. Highly recommended!

  • This place has everything you need and is very cosy and comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights but wish we had longer. Lots to do in the area, we enjoyed Aberglasney Gardens the most, beautiful. We loved the extra touches like leaving us bread, milk & treats. The kitchen is fully equipped and everything was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend this place.

  • A friendly welcome from Martin. The cottage is spotlessly clean, comfortable and homely with everything you could need for a relaxing break. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout. • Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay at Serenity Lodge. The weather wasn't on our side but we came well prepared. The drive and walk to the lodge was very bumpy and slippy but the host was very helpful in getting us there with our bags just make sure you bring your wellies! The lodge itself was very clean and nicely decorated. It was very cosy and had everything we needed to cook and eat. There was a small basket of goodies waiting for us including marshmallows to toast and Welsh cakes, yum! The bed was incredibly warm and comfy! The toilet is located just behind the lodge but it's nicely decorated and very clean so that didn't cause any problems. Carly was a great host and we really enjoyed our stay, especially listening to the stream at night, very relaxing! We plan on returning when the sun is shining so we can use the firepit!

    Martha2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Carly have evidently put so much work into making this place look and feel like the perfect little getaway. We had a great time cooking marshmallows on the fire and exploring the area. So peaceful!

  • I had a lovely stay in your cottage. The room was lovely and cosy, and the shower a joy. It did feel a bit strange not having a door to the showerroom but the curtain worked well. It was also great to have a kettle and tea facilities in the room too. The countryside is beautiful and the village was peaceful and I couldn't have had more friendly and welcoming hosts. Just what I needed for a relaxing break from work and thoroughly recommend it, 5 stars all round.

  • Really enjoyed our stay at Andrew and Tai's. They've put a lot of thought into the facilities and amenities to make this an exceptional and easy glamping experience, especially for those new to it - fire pit was pre-laid for us to just simply light when evening came, provided with milk and water in a coolbox that stayed cool for the duration of our visit. Was made to feel comfortable and welcome upon arrival. Great hosts, great location, great amenities, already planning a return trip.

Come and stay in cosy surroundings with stylish decor and all the amenities for a break from the hustle and bustle. Relax and unwind in a peaceful village setting close to many beaches, castles, walks and quaint market towns. It’s a countryside location so very quiet except for the sounds of some animal neighbours and the odd tractor going by. Off the main road so no car noise to keep you awake at night.
Small ex servant cottage that has been renovated recently. Located on a small holding with plenty of space to relax. Recline on the corner sofa in front of the fire, take a dip in the sumptuous bath and refurbished bathroom. Stylish cosy decor throughout with a home from home feel. A great base to explore wonderful Carmarthenshire or beyond to Pembrokeshire, Gower and the Brecon Beacons. There’s an extensive welcome pack with lots of ideas of places to visit, good food stops and all the history the local area has to offer. If you have any particular interests or requests we’d be happy to help. Please help yourself to whatever may be in the kitchen cupboards and fridge - they are left for your use. Plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate (including marshmallows) as well as basic store cupboard ingredients. The fire will be laid ready for you to light and there will be a basket of logs available to get you started. The bed in the main room is a king and a single in the second bed. If you did want to bring an extra guest please contact to see what we can do to accommodate you. **Please be aware that this is my home therefore there will be some personal belongings around the house.
Llanegwad is a quiet little village - no amenities within the village apart from plenty of country walks. Nearest shop/garage is 8 min drive away however there are two country pubs called The Creselly and The Salutation less than a mile away. Take-aways aplenty in the nearest town of Carmarthen or Llandeilo. Both 7 miles away in either direction. Supermarkets are located in Carmarthen however most main stores will do an online delivery should you wish to set something up before you arrive. You will find Wright’s Emporium in the nearby village of Llanarthney which is a lovely spot for brunch and to stock up on deli essentials including some Very good wines. Another favourite is the Hangout just a short drive away in Llandeilo, great for breakfasts, coffee and cake. While you’re in Llandeilo pop to the Ginhaus for a tipple or a browse in their deli. Heavenly chocolates are just on the high street where you can buy delicious ice cream and homemade chocolates amongst other gorgeous treats. Another fantastic restaurant is Y Polyn - booking is usually essential. The Sunday lunch is particularly good as is there credit crunch lunch.
  • Absolutely beautiful house, impeccably clean and incredibly stylish, I would say it's the nicest place we've stayed. The village in which it is located is also beautiful, with some great walks and pubs within a short distance. The host could not have been more accommodating, went well above and beyond what we would expect of a host, thank you very much. This place is highly recommended!

  • My wife and I booked for 4 nights over Christmas and had an absolutely brilliant time. The house is in a fantastic location if you like peace & quiet, with many great walks in the nearby Brecon Breacons. It's also a short drive from some lovely beaches, and we enjoyed exploring nearby Carmarthen. The house itself has everything you could ask for and more, with lots of nice touches such as a whole host of walking books, games to play and we were greeted by some lovely Christmas decorations including a gorgeous Christmas tree. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, it was great to curl up in front of the fire after a long day hill walking. Maria was really friendly & helpful, on the one occasion I needed to get in touch she replied to my text message within 2 minutes. It really was fantastic value for money and we couldn't recommend Maria's place more, it would be a brilliant place to stay at any time of year

  • What a fantastic Cottage, beautifully decorated and stocked with everything you need. Great location for the Brecons and not far to the beach. Maria is a lovely host and everything was sparkling clean with thoughtful extras. Can’t wait to visit again.

  • Beautiful cottage with lots of modern touches. We will be definitely staying there again! Thank you for a lovely visit Maria 🙂

  • Such a relaxing atmosphere, super duper clean and the cosiest stay! I’d Recommend to everyone

  • Maria's cottage is First Class. A superb, comfortable and spacious 'home' from which it is easy to explore the delights of South Wales. It was a lovely place to return to after a day out exploring. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage. Maria herself was the perfect host which made it such a great holiday.

    Raymond2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is definitely a Cosy Cottage for a perfect getaway. Maria has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable in a beautifully decorated environment. The dairy & gluten free cakes, plus milk were an extra special touch. Thank you so much. We will definitely be returning 😊

Wild Dragon Escapes' latest addition, Mr Imp has had her decks scrubbed, her insides refitted and has now been dry docked in her very own field on the 22 acre private nature reserve. Mr Imp has room for two passengers and is ready to take you on an adventure of a lifetime. Fitted out with 1 double bed (incl bedding), wood stove, gas hob and grill, fire pit, showers, WC and compost loo, Mr Imp has all you need for your voyage.
Mr Imp is 2 berth 25' yacht which includes a wood stove, gas hob and grill, sink, led lighting, a double bed (NB bedding NOT provided), fire pit and compost loo. WC, shower and laundry also available nearby. Dry docked in her own field within a private 22 acre nature reserve with lakes, ponds, flower meadows, huge oaks, hammock swings and a Whomping Willow, Mr Imp's guests are invited to enjoy the peace and explore locally. Surrounded by wild land, Mr Imp is situated down a long track. There is no litter, no dog mess and no traffic. There are trees to climb, dens to make, and streams to play in. There is an indoor play space with ride on toys, a large trampoline, and a basketball hoop. There is also a massive bird box in the barn, but that is for the owls! As you adventure round the land you can spot the other owl boxes and will also hear the owls almost every night. Due to some hazardous drops Mr Imp may not be suitable for very young children. The nature reserve is not a tidy place, what is mess to adults can be prime real estate for wild animals or fun stuff for kids. In our long career as parents and foster carers we have found that children (and adults) tend to be happiest when they can make dens and play in the wild. Our aim in setting up this holiday business was to create an environment that gave native wild animals and children some much needed breathing space. We aim to keep the nature reserve free of harmful chemicals and we provide eco friendly shampoos and soap for our guests. Even the water here is chlorine and fluoride free as it is from our own spring. We believe we are creating a children's wonderland and it's pretty wonderful for adults too! If all this clean living is too much you can escape to the excellent village pub which is an easy walk away! Nearby Llandeilo is a beautiful market town with great cafes, pubs and bars, antique and craft shops. Other local attractions include Newton House, Dinefwr Castle, Carreg Cennen Castle, Aberglasney House and Gardens and The National Botanic Garden of Wales. There is fabulous walking and mountain biking in the Brechfa Forest and, the beautiful beaches of The Gower, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion are just an hour away.
  • A wonderful find. The nature reserve is magical to explore and it’s all v practical too with everything you need. Mr Imp has its own field with a hammock and swing at the bottom. And I never knew a compost loo could be so nice!

  • Expect the unexpected with this adorable place. It was truly an experience and the kids just LOVED IT! Thanks to Sheila x

  • Great people, great place. Highly recommended.

  • Wild dragon escapes is the most amazing place. We have had a wonderful stay aboard Mr Imp and are looking forward to visiting again soon. We are a family of 4 and found we had enough room. The reserve is an incredible place to make memories. Our children loved the nature package and can't wait to visit our family tree soon. If you are on the fence about visiting, just do it. You won't regret it. The whole team at wild dragon are welcoming and friendly but we also felt we had the privacy to enjoy our holiday our way.

    Amy2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a great holiday and experience. We were concerned that the space might be too tight for 2 adults, and 2 fully grown children, but it wasn't. You would have less room in a tent, and this was much more fun and quirky. Such a different experience staying in a boat on a field. Location was amazing, privacy was amazing and everything we needed was to hand. Couldn't ask for anymore. And our hosts were friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and were okay. What a fantastic trip, enjoyed by us all. Thank you for providing an experience we needed, enjoyed and will remember.

    Darren2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a amazing and magical place to go and stay, the ship itself was incredible charming and the land around make me feel like a was a nature reserve.

    Dylan2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time staying in the boat. Cliff and Sheilas place is so beautiful and tranquil it was great to relax here. Will definitely be back for more!

    James2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Well there are very few places that feel as magical as this. In the middle of the beautiful welsh country side you’ll find a cozy boat, Mr Imp, to rest your head. And even while you walk around the lovely walking trails you’ll see a double decker bus and even a massive shoe! It’s a place made for fairytales. I absolutely loved getting away from the world for a bit and really taking in the fun nature of the place. You’ll find ponds, sitting trees... it truly felt like you would discover something new at every turn. Nearby I was also able to visit the local Castle and the town of Llandeilo has lots of fancy shops and restaurants. I highly recommend Mr. Imp for a cozy and fun experience. Sleeping in a boat, on land, is definitely a unique experience that I will surely remember for a lifetime.

Set in a beautiful countryside setting, overlooking the Tywi Valley, The Loft has the advantages of being rural yet only a few minuets drive (or 20 mins walk) from the bustling town of Llandeilo with its charming shops, art galleries, restaurants and cafes. This pretty barn conversion has been lovingly decorated to provide a comfortable studio flat for up to two people. The property is a wonderful base to explore the Tywi valley and the spectacular countryside beyond.
There is a large room with original low beams. The room contains a double bed and desk plus drawers and chairs. Off the main room there is a small kitchenette with a fridge, toaster, sink and microwave (there is no cooker) as well as tea, coffee, milk and basic breakfast provisions - bread, jams, cerials. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. There is a hairdryer in the bedroom plus WiFi. There is a charming stable door - on warm mornings you could lie in bed admiring the view of the garden! Outside there are 6 acres of grounds that are available for guests to walk around and a small area with two chairs and a garden table - ideal for enjoying the lovely scenery with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. There are ten steep stone steps leading up to the front door. The studio flat would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues or for young children.
The Loft is not far from the charming town of Llandeilo with its wonderful shops including Toast, Heavenly Chocolate and Peppercorn Kitchen shop. Llandeilo also has many lovely cafes, pubs and restaurants. The Angel and Cawdor Hotel have very good food and The Gin Haus has a fabulous coffee shop with an excellent lunch and dinner menu and over 100 speciality gins! The are also several art galleries in the town. The award winning Wrights Food Emporium is only a 10 minute drive away. The National Trust property of Dinefwr Park with its stately home and castle are literally on the door step ! A short 10 minute walk down a track takes you to the park or you can drive. Aberglasney Gardens is two miles away and The National Botanic Gardens are 20 minuets drive away. There are lovely walks from the property and The Brecon Beacons National Park is not far away with wonderful walking country and many tourist attractions like Castle Carreg Cennen. The Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion Coast is only an hour away as is The Gower Penninsula - beautiful beaches abound on all theses coast lines.
  • The Loft is exactly as advertised. Comfy, cozy and incredibly peaceful. We spent a long weekend away in the loft and we found ourselves not wanting to leave! Kate adds so many extra amenities like home-made snacks, cereals, yogurt etc which really show that she cares. The weather wasn’t fantastic during our visit but we didn’t mind in the least because the loft is so warm and inviting that we found ourselves playing board games, reading and just enjoying a nice cup of tea (out of some beautiful hand-made mugs made by Kate herself!) Kate was easy to contact and always available via the airbnb app or by phone. And she offers an information booklet which helped us out tons as we wanted to find local things to do. The area is stunning with beautiful national trust properties nearby and we enjoyed some lovely hikes around the area as well. Overall, a quiet and serene escape from the everyday life and we will most definitely be coming back. Thanks so much!

  • bought my parents a trip to llandeilo at kate's place and they said it was the perfect weekend away, Kate gave plenty of advice where to stay and also took my parents to a local pub and picked them up on the way home. They couldn't recommend it enough.

  • Kate's Loft Hideaway is always my favourite Airbnb . My sister and I continue to come back year after year because it is so wonderful and so is Kate! Absolutely amazing hospitality and hosting. Every detail has been thought of and it's so warm, cozy, in a gorgeous tranquil, Welsh country settting, tons of space around you. The location is a hop and a skip to Llandeilo and located favourably for everywhere you may want to go in Carmarthenshire and even easy access back to Swansea or the west coast. Truly an oasis and you will want for nothing. The bed is comfy, the movies and books are fabulous, the breakfast foods are customised according to what you need, teas, coffees are all quality delicious, you can cook using microwave and one hot plate, seat 4 at a table if you need it, the linens and towels are gorgeous quality, sheets are ironed, the place is enchanted! There is plenty of hot water and if you need gifts to take home, Kate has a gorgeous selection of her hand made ceramics in whimsical wonderful designs which she paints. I cannot say enough about how fabulous this place is and know you will hear spectacular birdsong, catch glorious sunrises and sunsets, Aberglasney gardens and Dynevor Castle all offer back in time experiences, superb restaurants and a lovely boutique town (Llandeilo) make this little stop somewhere you'll want to stay and unwind at over and over again. Such a gem!

  • Beautiful place, warm and welcoming. Sonia and Tim are really friendly and showed us around the property. I highly recommend to stay in their farmhouse.

  • Beautiful place with lots of character and a gorgeous wood burner, really friendly and laid back hosts. Such a great find, would certainly come back again.

    Zoe2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A special house. Warm and homely and just up the road from gorgeous Llandeilo. We really appreciated the logs and extra time today when Storm Dennis was doing his worst.

    Elisabeth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • After a lovely scenic drive Sonia and Tim greeted the family as we arrived. After the quick introduction we were walked around the grounds surrounding the property, which was perfect for the dog, and then through the house itself. Sonia had freshly baked and acquired some local delicacies which were left in a hamper in the kitchen, safe to say they didn’t last the day. If you’re looking to sit and disconnect for a few days there is a log fire in the front room or a conservatory surrounded by the garden which you could literally sit in all day watching the world go by. Sonia and Tim were amazing hosts as they were there if you needed anything at all, but if you didn’t, then you were left to your own devices to soak up all Glanddu had to offer.

    Thomas2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sonia and Tim's place. It's a lovely old property set in beautiful gardens with surrounding grounds perfect for dog walking or for children to run freely in. It's a lovely setting with gorgeous countryside views and also only 3 miles for Llandeilo so an easy drive or taxi ride to all that this delightful market town has to offer. The house is large and plenty of space for us four ladies who were enjoying a night away together. Sonia left some welcome provisions including freshly laid eggs from Margaret the resident chicken. We particularly liked the log burner in the lounge. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the heart of the Carmarthen countryside.

Sannan Court is a large stone house built in 1868 as a vicarage, and later divided into 5 spacious apartments. The pleasant garden to relax in is bordered by a small river in the centre of an attractive rural village, opposite the church and the friendly pub. The house has been undergoing major refurbishment since the owners bought it (as seen on TV’s ‘Homes Under The Hammer’) and Apartment 1 is a freshly renovated, bright and comfortable space.
Bright décor and double-glazed large sash windows make Apartment 1 a relaxing, cheerful and inviting space in all seasons. The spaciousness reflects the grandeur of the original house.
Llanfynydd is an attractive rural village at the centre of a small Welsh farming community. The village stands at the foot of Llanfynydd Mountain, and has a lively pub and restaurant open Wednesday to Sunday where visitors are made most welcome. Bar meals and snacks are also available. A short drive away are other pubs, great restaurants and cafés. We are close to Brechfa Forest which is great for running, walking and mountain biking. The Lost Gardens of Aberglasney, the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, and the British Bird of Prey Centre are within a short drive, as are The National Trust's Dinefwr park and castle, and Paxton’s Tower. Dryslwyn castle ruins, perched above the beautiful River Towy are just a few minutes away. Within half an hour’s drive you can be up into the mountains and the atmospheric Iron Age hill forts of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The county town of Carmarthen has extensive facilities for all needs, and has a restored steam railway nearby. Nearest sandy beaches are at Llansteffan estuary, about 18 miles, or Pembrey sands. The glorious Pembrokeshire beaches of Tenby and Saundersfoot are within an hour's drive. Nearer still are Pendine Sands, famous for world land speed record trials, and the estuary town of Laugharne, home of the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas and the TV drama ‘Keeping Faith’. The western coastline of Ceredigion, with its completely different coastal settlements, is little more than an hour’s drive away. There’s just so much to see in whichever direction you choose! Sannan Court is an ideal location for exploring everything that Carmarthenshire and its neighbours have to offer.
  • We had a great time being hosted by Derek and Penny. The location is a little off the beaten track but it's very beautiful and tranquil. It's also conveniently located for driving around to different sites - everything is fairly handy. The pub at the end of the street was also handy, particularly after a long day exploring! We would thoroughly recommend this to anyone wanting to get out of the city and enjoy some beautiful rural Wales!

    Neil & Heather2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had the pleasure of being Penny and Derek’s first guest in this newly refurbished apartment so it was immaculately clean and well appointed. I was invited to see in the New Year in with them at the pub opposite, which was really welcoming and great fun. The pub is a real hub for the village and couldn’t resist an invite back to take part in the weekly quiz night! The location was ideal for an equine interactive therapy course I was on in neighbouring Brechfa with Hope Through Horses. Such beautiful countryside with lovely walks through woods and along streams and rivers that my dog really enjoyed. I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from hustle and bustle and relax!

  • Enjoyed our stay. Lovely quiet resort over May half term. Pool was a hit with the kids.

    Claire2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Adams place is better than it looks in the pictures. Good sized dining kitchen and large living area. It's full of character and there's plenty of space for six people (we were a group of 5). Everything worked, the kitchen was well equipped. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. The upstairs bedroom is open to the staircase and you can clearly hear if someone walks around up there, in case that bothers you (it didn't bother us). The grounds are extensive and lovely. The property is at the entrance to a quiet leafy holiday park with Swiss style chalets, and you get full use of all the facilities, which are a 3min walk up the drive. They include a decent little pool, gym, tennis courts, playground, pool, snooker, darts, table tennis, restaurant, small indoor playroom, late opening coffee shop.... all for free. We enjoyed them all and they were not busy. Would definitely recommend!

  • This is a lovely, friendly, well-equipped house - we were travelling with my elderly parents so it was great to have bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. An excellent location for sightseeing - we didn’t have time to do more than a fraction of what is available!

The shower room is tiled and has a double shower . If you are bringing your pet with you please ensure that you inform us when booking. We are in a rural location, there are no street lights so it gets very dark . There is no street or road noise just the birds and livestock during the day and the owls and occasional fox at night. Wales is mountainous and you will be hard pushed to find flat land near us so be prepared and wear your walking boots. The boutique town of Llandeilo is 7.5 miles away with a wide range of speciality shops, lovely coffee shops and pubs, The Pen-y-Bont pub is 3 miles away a shorter walk cross country is you are feeling adventurous. Carmarthenshire is seemed in history with more castles, stately homes and historic buildings that you can see in a week, eat a cream tea on the Gwili railway steam trains, pan for gold at the Dolaucothi gold mines or watch the feeding of hundred of red kites and the feeding station - all within a 20 minute drive. Carmarthen is our nearest large town with the usual shops .
  • Lovely place, a great mini break to escape reality.

  • My girlfriend and I had a really lovely stay in Alex and Gordon’s cottage. They were both very welcoming hosts and the cottage had many thoughtful touches like robes for the hot tub and a lights along the path down to the riverside cabin. Would definitely recommend this for a quiet getaway!

    Tim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location away from the maddening crowds of our cities. A very warm welcome from Alexandra and a clean spacious, but cosy place to stay. You won’t be cold as the heating is more than efficient and the hot tub is the perfect way to relax after days of sight seeing in the rain. Well it wouldn’t be Wales if it didn’t. I can’t recommend this place enough - Get it booked.

    Michael2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our weekend at Alex and Gordon’s cottage. The cottage is warm and cosy, the perfect size and has everything you could need. It is a bit out of the way, but ideal for the sites we wanted to visit. Unfortunately, there was a big storm during our stay so we were unable to make these visits, but we had a lovely and relaxing time staying in watching movies at the cottage instead. Alex was also very helpful on check out in advising us the best way home due to flooding.

    Lauren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely few nights at Alexandra and Gordons cottage for my partners birthday. A very lovely place to go and relax in peace and quiet. The cottage was very cute and cozy and the log burner made it better! There is a well lit path leading down to a log cabin by a stream which was extra special. The hot tub was AMAZING! Would recommend this place to anyone who would like a few nights to relax! Alex and Gordon were great hosts.

    Tyra2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a little peace of tranquil heaven. It is so peaceful and so relaxing and exactly what we were looking for in a few days away. The cabin by the river is particularly exceptional - a completely lovely and remote hideaway with spectacular views of the river. The place is also great for dogs and Alex was fantastic, leaving treats out for our dog, as well lots of blankets so he could cosy up with us on the sofa. Can’t recommend this place enough.

    Sophie2020-01-10T00:00:00Z

  • My boyfriend and I loved Aled’s Tiny Home! It’s such a great place, very cosy and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay. There was bread and milk on arrival which was a thoughtful touch. Aled was very helpful and always quick at responding if we had any queries or needed anything. The location is amazing and so quiet with great places close by to eat. We loved Wrights Food Emporium so definitely a place to check out. We booked a tiny home for the experience and definitely loved it and would do it again. Thank you again for hosting us! :)

    Abir2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the tiny house, Aled and his family were super welcoming and gave us lots of insight into the local area. This was a great escape from the city, really relaxing & lots of delicious Welsh food to be found in neighbouring villages. Thanks Aled for a brilliant stay! Connie and Tom x

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Tiny House! It has a very stylish design and the space is used well. There is a log burner, cooking facilities and a comfortable sofa and bed with toilet and shower facilities very close by. Everything was as it was shown in the pictures and we will definitely be returning in the future.

    Sam2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house really is a beautiful place to stay. Super stylish, spotless, comfy and cosy with lovely friendly touches like fresh bread and milk left for us and a welcome from Aled the owner. We would definitely recommend staying here and I'm sure we'll do so again - with local pubs and Wrights restaurant, along with gorgeous views whats not to love!

  • Very quiet, charmy refurbished old cottage where you can really relax. Very well maintained huge gardens and green areas. The host - Monica French is very supportive and helpful. Some very interesting historical place nearby - Dryslwyn Castle, etc. I recommend Dryslwyn Fawr to every one.

  • Overall the cottage was in a great location for exploring the Botanic garden of Wales, Aberglasney gardens, several castles and other interesting sights. The cottage itself was well equipped for two people and was wonderfully peaceful and quiet, we would definitely return again!

    Alison2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • As other reviewers state, the photos do not do this place justice! It’s a gorgeous location with a hill hosting some remarkable castle ruins just a five minute walk down the road. Monica was lovely and left us welshcakes, tea bags, sugar, even milk in the fridge! We had an amazing time hiking the local area as well as viewing the breathtaking botanical gardens - only a fifteen minute drive from the residence. At the end of the day we were able to curl up by the fire and watch a movie. A 10/10 stay!

    Gabby2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely, spacious cottage (much bigger than the photos show), perfect for the two of us to enjoy a break away in this beautiful part of wales. The little touches provided by Monica were a lovely gesture and her warm welcome was very appreciated! There is a table and chairs outside which meant we could sit and enjoy the glorious weather that we were lucky to have this weekend! Perfect location for Wrights and a lovely walk to the castle and river nearby! Would definitely recommend a stay!

Peaceful area where you can just hear the wildlife. One mile away from the Brechfa bike trails and within beautiful scenery. • Had a very relaxing stay in Gorlech cottage. The cottage is located in a stunning rural area. It’s spacious, clean and comfortable with wonderful views from the terrace at the back. A perfect location for cyclists and walkers or anyone who just wants to have a peaceful time away. Hope to go back one day

  • A brilliant find. This is a spacious and well equipped cottage in a very quiet rural location. We can’t wait to go back.

    Andrea2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place, perfect setting a stones throw away from the mountain bike trails, pub in Brechfa a mile away if you fancy eating out, you could hear a pin drop in the back garden, literally ticks every box for a weekend away with the boys mtbing as we did, but equally apt for a lovely get away with the wife which I intend to do another time soon. Welsh cakes and milk in the fridge a lovely touch, look forward to the next stay!!

    Claire2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stephens place is clean, very well equipt and very quiet. We were greeted by Stephen but there is also a key collection box incase the host is not around. We can't comment on what's in the local area as we used the let as a base to look for property in Wales. One thing to note is the only shop close is a cute little community shop that is only open until 6pm.. get caught out and you have a real trek to find somewhere else open. We had two large breed dogs with us and feel the garden space is better suited to small or medium size dogs. The cottage itself is clean, comfortable with lovely views of the forest and it is very, very quiet. We are sorry if between our dogs and 5 year old son we disturbed the peace! Highly reccomended to those looking to escape to peace and quiet & for outdoor activities.

  • We booked ‘The Cowshed’ for a short break with our daughter and pet Cavapoo Bailey. A lovely cottage and a great host in Alice. Would recommend to all.

  • We stayed for almost a week at the Cow Shed. We're there with the two of us + a baby and there was plenty of space! A large living room for us to relax and play with the baby. From the Cow shed you are within an hour drive from a lot of nice things to visit! We saw the Brecon Beacons, went to St. Davids, the South Coast of Prembrokeshire, Cardiff, and all the beautifull things just around the corner like the pretty town of Llandeilo with Dinefwr, Carreg Cennen and the Aberglasny gardens. Lots to do! And Alice was a wonderful host, quick to react to al my questions and very willing to help us. Would definitely recommend it!

    Jara2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Cow Shed exceeded our expectations - beautiful space, thoughtfully decorated with everything you could possibly need. The water pressure was excellent for hot showers, the twin beds super comfy, great quality linens and spotlessly clean throughout. Alice had left some lovely treats for our breakfast that were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The sofabed wasn’t comfy, so would recommend only for those that sleep well anywhere, but otherwise our stay was wonderful from start to finish. Loved the beautiful views out the window and fabulous walks to be had. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality!

A 4 birth lovingly converted bus, incl. wood stove, fridge, oven, dining area, 2 bedrooms (2 doubles or 1 double plus 2 singles) and compost loo. WC, shower and laundry also available. Set in a private 22 acre nature reserve with lakes, flower meadows and huge oaks, guests are invited to enjoy the peace and explore locally, which includes the local village pub. Just 3 miles from the market town of Llandeilo and within easy reach of many attractions.
Surrounded by wild land, the Weache Bus is situated down a long track. There is no litter, no dog mess and no traffic. There are trees to climb, dens to make, and streams to play in. If it rains there is an indoor play space with ride on toys, a large trampoline, and a basketball hoop. There is also a massive bird box in the barn, but that is for the owls! As you adventure round the land you can spot the other owl boxes and will also hear the owls almost every night. Due to the steep stairs in the bus and the wood burner it may not be suitable for toddlers. Meanwhile, the beautiful beaches of The Gower, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion are just an hour away.
  • We had an incredible stay on the bus. Sheila and Cliff were lovely hosts and couldn’t ask for anymore from them. My children throughly enjoyed staying on the bus and exploring the grounds. There was everything and more that were needed on the bus to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The electric bed heaters were amazing. My 12 year old daughter didn’t touch her phone haha. The kids had a lot of fun on the trampoline too. None of us wanted to leave. Thank you again Sheila and Cliff. We hope to see you guys soon 😁

  • We stayed for two nights and wish it had been longer. Everything was perfect. Communication was easy with the hosts and the bus was amazing. It was very outside but lovely and cosy on the bus with the log burner. We ventured out for a walk to the pub for dinner, 10 minutes down the road. We spent hours exploring around the land the bus is located on and the kids absolutely loved it. They also spent hours in the play barn! The bedrooms were beautiful with an amazing view and even heated blankets on the beds! You wouldn’t regret booking this Airbnb! Thank you for having us :)

    Vicky2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay with fantastic views. You step outside and there's a whole nature reserve to explore. Could not recommend more!

  • Celebrated the new decade in this bus and had a great time doing so. The bus was a bit nippy but warm once you got the fire going. Would definitely recommend it, something different.

    Matt2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic and special getaway with a difference. Our boys loved staying in the bus, having cosy evenings in by the log burner (and out by the firepit area). It was great that they could explore the grounds (don't forget your wellies in winter), which offered them loads of opportunities for adventure. There was plenty of room for our family of five and we were made to feel very welcome. The playbarn was great for expending the last bit of energy after exploring the local National Trust property (well worth a visit).

    A2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the Bus! Beautiful views and lovely quiet location great for a romantic getaway or a getaway with kids, plenty of room if you're a couple or a family of 4!

    Molly2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved how the bus had been converted to a living space - preserving key bus features such as the stairs and hand rail, luggage rack and of course the driving seat which is apparently all fully functional still. Very clean and excellent rural location. We particularly loved the re-wilding of the old farmland. The play barn was a hit with my 9 year old son...and us! We hope to visit in the summer sometime when it's warmer.
