Places to stay in Exeter

Places to stay in Exeter
Kate and Liam’s home is located between Exeter and Glengarry, in the picturesque Tamar Valley. This area is located in Northern Tasmania, and is only approximately 50 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania, and 30 minutes from Launceston.
We have recently completed the renovations on a unit that we have on our property, which has now made it a very comfortable and warm environment. The unit is not attached to the main house, so you will have full privacy. And free wifi :-) Guests will have full access to the unit, which has a small bathroom (with shower), queen sized bed, fridge, oven, toaster, kettle, and basic kitchen utensils. Guests will also have access to the outside entertainment/deck area. Our property is a hobby farm where you will see chooks, livestock, and a small cherry orchard. We also have pet dogs, which are friendly and spend most of the time inside the main house. We are happy for guests to bring your dog/s along, however prior notice is requested and they must remain on a leash at all times when outside, and they don’t rest or sleep on our furniture. Please note that the unit is comfortable for 2 people, however we do have a portable single bed if more than 2 people are wanting to stay, to a maximum of 3 people (the 3rd person will be an extra $20). Please contact us prior to booking so we can assist.
  • This was a perfect place to explore the area from, Kate and Liam were excellent hosts, and the apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable - has absolutely everything you need! Would love to stay again!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, so much so we ended up staying a week ! The cabin is well designed, spacious & very well equipped. Liam & Kate were extremely flexible and able to bring our accommodation forward at the last minute. Despite them both being extremely busy, communication before and during our stay was excellent and they provided us with some great local travel tips. The location itself is very central to the Tamar Valley, Launceston, North Coast and the Western Tiers region, so it makes an ideal base. Thanks again Liam & Kate, we're sure we'll be back!

  • Clean and comfortable place for my wife, 2 year old and myself. My daughter loved feeding the chickens and collecting eggs in the morning. Comfy and practical throughout. Would much prefer staying here than in the city

  • We had a lovely night at Elaine’s place. The West Tamar has such hidden beauty and this a terrific place to base yourself from which to explore the region, with great Tassie wineries only a few minutes drive away. The unit was neat and clean with everything you need and cleverly laid out, with great extras like a little deck, outdoor setting, and a Weber barbie as well. The peaceful rural setting was delightful, with a great view of Ben Lomond across bushland off in the distance. Good value and a nice place!

    Vince2019-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, but brief, stay in Elaine's cabin near Launceston. The cabins are located on their lovely property, with a lovely view looking over the dam. This was a great quiet spot to stay as an alternative to staying in Launceston, and the cabin was well equipped and very comfortable for three people. Just wish we had had a little more time there to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet!

    Veronica2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine's cottages in Exeter are the perfect serene getaway in the middle of the Tamar Valley. It is an easy 30 min drive from Launceston and a great base to explore the surrounding. The property is well maintained and with goats, ducks and dogs you have a private little petting zoo. The cottage itself has everything you need, is spotless clean and offers stunning views into the countryside. I would definitely recommend Elaine's cottages and I am sure I will come back at some stage.

We also appreciated the little snacks Ian & Sue provided us with too. Boys enjoyed the pool table also. Will definitely be back if we visit Tassie again.

  • This house was so comfortable! We ate out on the deck with plenty of entertainment from the birds. The yard is full of flowers, and the River walk was lovely at sunrise and sunset. The bathtub was very inviting on a cold night, and so wonderful to have a dryer as well as washer. There is nothing more comfortable than a recliner, and the TV is huge. The kitchen has everything you need, and the treats were appreciated. We also picked blackberries for our pancakes. Great location to enjoy the River Valley.

COVID19 has certainly brought its challenges. Following a short break we are now opening our unit for weekly stays, up to 15 days. Ideally located five minutes' drive from the city centre. Our unit is well-appointed, spacious and private, with fabulous views across the city, river and mountains. The bird life has been amazing in our garden, and the changing hues in the evening and early morning are worthy of photography.
The apartment has a sunny aspect and is clean and comfortable. Fully furnished and up-market, this self-contained unit has a full-size, fully equipped modern kitchen/living; there is separate bedroom with a comfortable queen sized bed and adjoining ensuite. Having your own private laundry facilities, as well as your own private deck and barbecue, make this a great place to be. All linen, towels and kitchen utensils provided, including microwave, full size fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, desk and large flat screen TV. Internet access (NBN) is included - name and password is on the back of the business card on the desk.
The Cataract Gorge Reserve is situated just two minutes away from our Airbnb. Here you'll find walking and hiking trails, the world's longest single span chairlift, swimming pool, restaurant, peacocks and wildlife, beautiful gardens, suspension bridge, inclinator for easy access, and panoramic lookouts with spectacular views. Nearby Duck Reach Power Station was the first publicly-owned hydro-electric power station in Australia and one of the earliest in the world. Situated nearby our Airbnb, it is accessible by a short walk through natural bushlands as you wind your way towards the Cataract Gorge and Tamar River. As the Tasmanian Government guidelines for COVID19 allow, in Launceston city, you can wander down Charles Street with its many bakeries and eateries. Don’t miss a visit to the Seaport precinct – cruise the Tamar River or walk along the marina boardwalk; chose your own restaurant to your taste. At Penny Royal World you can travel back in time to Van Diemen’s Land. Jump aboard a barge and immerse yourself in the daring escapades of notorious bushranger Matthew Brady; or experience the thrill of the cliff walk as you make your way across a dozen rope bridges suspended above the Penny Royal. Challenge yourself on the indoor and outdoor rock climbing walls, or kick back and enjoy local food and wine. Penny Royal offers a broad range of dining experiences for brunch, lunch and dinner. For an even more exhilarating experience, the Hollybank Tree Top Adventure is about a 30 minute's drive away, with zip-line tours, ropes course and Segway tours. Experience a zipline tour with experienced guides, combining the adrenaline rush of a high-wire canopy ride with an informative and entertaining outlook on our beautiful forests. Just north of Launceston is one of Tasmania’s principle wine producing areas. The Tamar Valley is very picturesque with orchards, vineyards and pastures. Whether you choose to eat and drink your way through the Tamar Valley, visit historic sites or simply enjoy the local flora and fauna, there is plenty to see and do. Don’t miss the Beaconsfield Gold mine – location of disaster and triumph, as well as the Platypus House and Sea Horse Farm. An hour's drive to Sheffield, country town of murals and two hours to Cradle Mountain, our Airbnb is the ideal place to choose as central to the northern part of Tasmania. There is so much to see and do; be sure to allow yourself a few days to experience Launceston and surrounds.
  • This a charming apartment with a stunning view. Wendy and Mark were so welcoming and helpful. The apartment is spotlessly clean and had everything I needed for my 2-week stay and more. The kitchen has many things in the cupboards that you wouldn’t usually get in an AirBnB, so I could cook much more than I’d expected to. I was very comfortable I highly recommend a stay here.

    Tim2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful self contained space and close to the Gorge. Perfect that there is a parking space we could use. It was lovely that Wendy came to say hello and give us advice. Would definately recommend.

  • As anticipated from all the positive reviews, we really enjoyed our stay at Wendy's place. We loved the garden and small deck where you can sit and enjoy the sun, the birds and the views. And when we were ready to head inside there were comfy lounge chairs, a well equipped kitchen and a very comfortable bed. It is a quiet spot, a short walk to Cataract Gorge and a short drive into town. We would definitely stay again.

Quirky , small, clean and tidy , close to city, bus stop 2 minutes walk, city 25 mins walk, You will walk past The Cataract Gorge and the Marina to get into the city. Close to the Tailrace park, walking and cycling tracks. Pleasant backyard to sit in , have coffee and enjoy the sunshine. Tasmania Zoo is 25 minute drive away and The Wetlands 10 minutes drive. • The studio was clean, comfortable and Susan kindly left a few groceries for me. The location was good, though as described in the listing there is traffic noise at times. All in all a good place to stay for a week, or longer

    Diana2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place exceeded my expectations in every possible way. The place is very well laid out, which makes it feel much larger than it is. There are extra touches at every step, from breakfast supplies to snacks to toiletries and even scissors when we needed them! What little we didn’t have, Susan went out of her way to provide. We didn’t get to meet, but she made her warmth and generosity felt nonetheless. I wouldn’t dream of staying elsewhere next time I’m in Lonny!

  • Stayed for around a month and I can't say anything bad about the place or about the host. Loved the place, very quiet and clean. And Susan is wonderful, every time I needed something she responded right away. Great choice.

Waterfront home with gorgeous views of the Tamar River. A large block with cottage gardens in the picturesque & vineyard rich, Tamar Valley. Enjoy the stunning water views from the open plan kitchen, dining & lounge areas and the large back deck. Unwind after a day of activities by the river with a glass of wine and the stillness of dusk.
A quaint weatherboard cottage with modern facilities, including dishwasher, heating & cooling, induction cooktop and other cooking facilities. Outside there is a large deck & BBQ area, garden seating, a large grassed area & the river front seating area.
We are located in a quiet street off the Tamar Highway. The house is central to the vineyards of the Tamar Valley so there are many options a short drive away to experience our world class wines. The village of Exeter (2 mins drive) is where you will find the supermarket, butcher, post office and ATM. It is also a lovely place to try the local restaurant, cafe & pub. Gravelly Beach (5 mins drive) is worth a visit... It has a great fish'n'chip shop and long waterfront to enjoy.
  • Wonderful house in a great location. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling in the area.

  • Amazing, beautiful views of Tamar river & mountains beyond . This house is clean, well appointed, tastefully decorated & extremely cheery & comfortable. No issues with wifi or reception on both Telstra & Optus phones. Lynette & John are great hosts, quick to respond & very accommodating. Our 3 night stay was way too short for such a lovely place. Highly recommend.

  • Bosavern was a delightful place to stay. The view of the Tamar from the terrace and living room was wonderful. We found the house to be very comfortable. The garden, leading down to the water's edge, was a joy.

  • Lynette and John’s Place is in the most idyllic setting, on the banks of the Tamar River. While feeling secluded, it is actually not far to supermarkets and to Launceston itself. It is a great spot to launch an exploration of the Tamar valley. The house itself is quaint and comfortable with nicely decorated bedrooms and living room, and comfortable beds. The kitchen is equipped with essential cookware, and the laundry was a blessing. We especially appreciated the well-equipped first aid kit that averted a trip to emergency when our son cut his hand. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days at "Little House by the River". The cosy little cottage was wonderfully appointed, meticulously clean, the location is truly stunning and the view amazing. We found the host, Lynette and John to be very friendly and helpful and responded promptly when contacted. We had no problems with our Telstra reception. We couldn't have wished for more and would highly recommend it. Wendy and Roger

  • An excellent base from which to explore the many vineyards Tamar Valley has to offer. Awesome views from the deck and easy to enjoy some offerings from the days exploration. We only had 2 days. Hindsight say we should have had 3!

  • Amazing views from lounge, deck and down along the river. Great location, sparkling clean, wonderful hosts and plenty of space. Aircon and WiFi all perfect. Would definitely stay again!

  • Julia is one of the best host I have ever meet. She helps us a lot, especially about the local gov announcement. Here is wonderful for couple or with a child to stay and enjoy the brilliant holiday. Pantry with good breakfast is so important for foodie like me. Enough equipment to cook a nice dinner is so good. So romantic to enjoy a meal with husby at the balcony with the sunset/ moon rise and the Tamar river view. I do yoga & workout at the balcony too. So nice to exercise under the sunshine. Super recommend everyone to stay here!

  • Julia's lovely backyard cottage is located under a giant oak tree in a quiet area near to Launceston's amazing wetlands discovery park. There were so many special touches in the cottage from quality reading material to yummy breakfast food to a soft and comfy bed. While the area is not spacious, we were more than comfortable. The surrounding garden complete with chooks is lovely and communications with Julia was easy.

Our comfortable modern industrial style apartment is situated in our private oasis of a garden. With a queen bed, quality linen, fast unlimited wifi and Netflix. We have a few gorgeous chickens, a Springer spaniel pup and red kelpie dog. Located 15min walk to CBD, and 5min to shops and other necessities. Safe on-street parking directly out the front.
The studio space comfortably suits a couple. A kitchenette and fridge for the late night snack or a 3 course meal. The apartment is very private on its own floor with newly renovated bathroom. Our home is on the next level, so occasionally you may hear footsteps from above, as you might see from our reviews this is very rarely an issue, however we want to be transparent about the space. The accomodation is very safe and private with gated entry.
We live opposite Invermay Oval, a stones throw from UTAS Stadium, a short walk to Heritage Park and the North Esk river. We don't have any direct neighbours, so although an active area the accomodation is private and quiet. That being said, occasionally it can be a little active when the oval is being used across the road. Deli, grocery, laundromat restaurants and shops are a 5 min walk away.

  • We had a very relaxing stay at Jenn’s place - it was just as described with many thoughtful touches including fresh flowers, milk, coffee pods and other useful condiments. Jenn was also very proactive, checking in to ensure we were ok during our stay. The balcony is very private being at the end of the row and we enjoyed watching the birds, wallabies and potteroos with sundowners on an evening. Check out the gin distillery next to the onsite winery too - great distinctive flavours and a friendly host/ owner.

  • The apartment is pretty much exactly as listed. Modern, clean and well equipped with views to the vineyard and river, and the bonus of wallabies in the scrub below at dusk. We both loved it and would happily recommend a stay.

Welcome, experience the 1840's in comfort. It is warm, comfortable, spacious & enriched with history and character. Former residence of Frank Browne, first man to conduct xray in Tasmania. Great location, CBD-3 min walk to restaurants, shops, city park & aquatic centre. The interior's been lovingly restored & currently there is restoration work on the exterior including a rear wall. This will not impact your stay.
Experience the heritage of this 1840s building in the heart of Launceston. Everything is in easy walking distance including many main attractions.
Fantastic central location with easy walking access to many attractions e.g city park which hosts events like Festivale, James Boag Brewery who host the beer festival. Also 5 min walk to shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and the aquatic centre. Approximately a 20 minute walk to University/Aurora Stadium and Inveresk museum. Downhill there and return walk is up the hill of Tamar Street.
  • A very clean and welcoming house, spacious living area, with great amenities.

  • Awesome place, cosy and convenient to CBD. Great hosts

    David2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • As Bernadette says in her listing this is a 1840 building undergoing restoration. The unit we stayed in was functional but the floor plan reflects the age of the building. The ceilings are high and the woodwork mostly original giving it a certain charm. It’s a little like stepping back in time but with modern conveniences like indoor plumbing and HVAC. The parking in back is tight and a small car works best. While we were there a larger SUV had to back down the driveway rather than negotiate the tight turns and narrow drive. We had no problem with the compact car we rented. The location is great for getting around Launceston. We walked most places. There is a bit of a hill to walk up on your way home but not as bad as some places. Launceston is quite hilly except for the CBD.

  • Well, I am from India & we are used to big spaces. When I first reached Pod Inn around 3 pm in the afternoon, very honestly I got very petrified. But with each hour passing by, I started feeling very comfortable. The pods were extremely clean, the mattress & linen very comfortable, the washrooms were spotlessly clean & the staff was extremely cooperative. In fact by nightfall I had started enjoying my stay here at Pod Inn. I slept very well & by morning I was completely enjoying my stay. It was a first time unique kind of an experience & I am now looking forward for a chance to stay at Pod Inn again. & I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to my host Zac who went out of the way to help me with everything.

Welcome to the Fernery. A place like no other. This tiny home is a 20ft shipping container in a little oasis.. Surrounded by beautiful gardens & high modern fencing. You truly feel like you are in your own world. A stone bath carved from a single river stone comfortably fits two adults & sits right outside your door. With a fire pit at your fingertips, a cool winters night is the perfect time to enjoy a wine in this steamy bath. The tiny home may lack in size, but it doesn’t lack in moments.....
This space is really like no other. The tiny home which we call the Fernery has been built inside of a 20ft shipping container. The idea of this home was to recreate a low impact, tiny footprint and sustainable way of living. What we have created is a comfortable and minimalist lifestyle for everyone to enjoy including the environment. This tiny home has been created and built by Tiny Homes Tasmania and is available statewide and interstate. The Fernery is located inside Glebe Gardens, an award winning landscape and garden center. Situated on the edge of the Launceston City, you are only a short 15 min walk, 3 min drive or even a nice 6 min bike ride on our complimentary bicycles.
The Fernery is located inside of Glebe Gardens, an award winning garden center which also has a nursery and cafe and is located on the city boundry of Launceston. Only a short 15 min walk into the city or a 5 min drive.
  • Highly recommended! We have -since departing the Fernery- noticed similar sized containers and been amazed that so much has been created at the Fernery. Stylish, comfortable, just magic! And lovely evenings spent relaxing by the outdoor fire were just so special. The stone bath - wow!

  • Big things come in small packages. Hanna's place is a little piece of paradise, inside and out. The rock bath was an absolute highlight as well as access to the most beautiful gardens, all while being just a stone's throw from everything Launceston has to offer. Our stay couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you Hanna!

  • We had the pleasure of staying in the container home for 2 nights. A great little spot within the garden grounds which we explored with a glass of wine in hand. The container house itself is a unique and immaculate space with adjoining outdoor area with an incredible outdoor stone bath, just what we needed after a hike up Cradle Mountain. • Beautiful garden surround Hanna’s place The outdoor bath is amazing as is the water pressure on the shower! Super cute and a great weekend stay - thanks again Hanna

  • The accommodation is small and fantastic, have stayed several times and will continue to do so. Access to the gardens after hours is wonderful, they are spectacular and private, the courtyard and bath are enjoyable. Best for travelling light as not a lot of room, but the place makes up for that.

  • A small yet functional place to stay and explore Launceston. The outdoor bath ,shower and courtyard are the highlights of an unique little place in a private tranquil setting.

All the basics you need to enjoy your stay are on hand (coffee pods, instant coffee, tea, sugar, milk, salt & pepper etc) and of course plenty of crockery, cooking utensils etc. TRUST US, we’ve stayed in plenty of accommodation over the years and know how frustrating it is trying to slice cheese with a wooden spoon or drink that lovely bottle of wine you purchased out of the single plastic cup supplied! The lounge/dining area is well equipped with a comfortable 3 seater couch (which is a sofa-bed, so please ask if you feel the need) and a large screen TV with plenty of input options if you want to avail yourselves of more than Free-to-Air TV or use of the DVD player on hand. A good size dining table will ensure you can enjoy a comfortable meal. You have your very own private ensuite with toilet, shower, wash basin and laundry sink, as well as a front loading washing machine for your sole use. There is a clothes horse supplied, or feel free to use the outside clothesline as well. If you need, there is a clothes dryer available on request. The apartment has its own private entrance, from your very own deck complete with outdoor table and chairs (and a sprinkling of herbs growing there too you may notice), THE perfect place to sit and unwind at the end of the day or make plans for the day ahead. Deck/entrance is adjacent to your parking bay. From the deck you have sweeping views over the property and adjacent vineyard. You are welcome to wander the grounds, or use the BBQ and outdoor area. We have numerous fruit trees growing, including: apples, pears, apricots, mulberries and plums. Over time we will establish our ‘edible garden’ and you will be most welcome to sample our produce as available.
Amble'a'While on Tamar is located on the banks of the Tamar River with stunning waterfront views. Wander 2.5km along Rosevears Drive to the historic Rosevears Hotel for a quiet drink, quick bite to eat or a delicious meal accompanied by local wines. Explore the Tamar Valley Wine Route with over 30 cellar doors right on our doorstep (voted “One of the Top 10 Wine Routes in the world” by Essential Travel magazine UK). Taste your way through the Cradle to Coast Tasting Trail. Take a leisurely drive to Bridestowe Lavender Estate just an hour from us. An easy 25 minute drive north will take you through Beaconsfield (visit the mine and heritage centre), then 5 minutes further on to the aptly named Beauty Point with some lovely local eateries along with Platypus House and Seahorse World for the nature lovers. Head on over and visit the historic Lighthouse and Foghorn at Lowhead and/or book in for a Penguin Tour where you’ll get up close and personal with these cute little creatures. Pop into town (Launceston) and visit the local cafés, craft beer or whiskey bars. Do it on a Saturday morning and visit Harvest Market Launceston (delicious. Outstanding Farmers Market 2017) and sample the local produce. There is so much to do near Amble’a’While on Tamar, feel free to ask us any questions or for recommendations of things to see and do near us.

It is country quiet here and it has a lovely array of bird life through the seasons from Rosellas to Galahs. We are within walking distance of the famous Rosevears Tavern and situated directly under Tamar Ridge winery where one can have the best wine tasting experience with a view. A gorgeous cafe experience can be had at nearby Elmslie and all shopping amenities are served at nearby Legana or Exeter. Numerous other superb wineries are within a 20 minute drive, in particular do not miss Moores Hill and Iron Pot Bay, the latter a secret haunt of ours offering gourmet local food.
  • We usually stay in fully self contained accommodation and were a little apprehensive about no hob, oven or kitchen sink. Silly us. It was perfectly OK as the hosts had everything covered. A super stylish, quiet and well appointed place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay...oh..and the delicious apples, straight from the trees.

    Shauna2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and new apartment for two people. Beautiful gardens and pure serenity, with views of the water. Everything you need is provided, just missing the kitchen sink. Loved the breakfast provisions provided and lovely bathroom supplies. Definitely recommend.

  • Peter and Jancie's place was absolutely amazing, stunning property with a great view from the balcony! couldn't recommend any higher

    Darren2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent place! Stylish, great attention to detail and very clean. Kitchenette is equipped with electric kettle, toaster and microwave (no burner) and all crockery & cutlery. Spectacular view over the Tamar River. Great base for a Winery Tour: We highly recommend Swinging Gate (Doug is really a service wizard and the wine is great, too.) and Holm Oaks. Pete is an excellent host, very helpful and has lots of tips. Don‘t stay in Launceston! Stay here, it‘s much nicer and if needed you are in the city in less than 30 min. We felt very home and love to come back. Highly recommended!

  • Woke up to sounds of the wildlife with a lovely view of the river.

    Kevin2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning views and stylish house! Peter is a great host and his place is a full of thoughtful touches and amenities. The house is right on the river road and very close to Launceston and other wineries.

    Soh2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's house is large, the location is great, it's quiet, the river can be seen at home, and more interestingly, the wild kangaroo is seen in the backyard. We checked out an hour late and the host was friendly.

  • Our 2 night stay was so comfortable, warm, very clean & peaceful with great privacy. What was very much appreciated, just a soft fragrance in the air, not a perfume that was overwhelming.

    Simon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Splendid! One word to describe me and my partner's experience for staying at Abby's place. Her house was very clean, very organised kitchen, wonderful facilities and amenities, both Abby and her partner's hospitalities were awesome, very prompt responses, great communication, and all the thoughtful touches both in the bedroom and bathroom were cool! The neighbourhood around her house was pretty nice and quiet too, so it's perfect for us as we like that kind of neighbourhood. It's also very close to the bus stop and other shops, so the location is very good. Overall, Tyson and I enjoyed our stay at her place. We wished we could have more time to have a chat with Abby and Mitch as they seem like a cool couple! Thank you so much for everything, Abby & Mitch! :)

This is a tiny room on a steep busy street with no parking. You may have to park 300m away. There is a gravel driveway with difficult access and a big step. There is a young loud family of 4 upstairs with 2 dogs, we are not ninjas. There is another Airbnb next door adjacent to the room. The heat pump is next to the bed and may be noisy. Please note we are in the middle of renovating.
  • This was my second time staying here. It's a great little pad with everything you need for a short stay and very reasonably priced especially in light of the impact of Covid-19. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

    Jill2020-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Louis' pad has a peaceful ambience. Due to COVID-19 I'm unexpectantly spending most of my time there and while it might be a little small for some, I've found it has everything I need for a comfortable stay.

    Jill2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Louis' pad is just delightful. I love the decor and it has everything you need for a short stay. I cooked for myself - there were all the kitchen tools I needed to do that. So well equipped for such a small space. It was a very comfortable stay.

    Jill2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Good little room when heading through Launceston. Street parking across a main road can be a bit dicey if you have a lot of baggage - we left it all in the car. But the bed and room was comfortable and clean. Louis recommended Burger Junkie for dinner and it was great.

    Tash2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Funky and comfortable little space. Really great spot in Launceston, out of the hustle but close enough drive to the main cbd areas. We had a minor issue with a faulty power board during our stay but our hosts were super attentive to resolving the problem for us as swiftly as possible. :)

    Georgia2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent communication and easy check in with lockbox, close to town we walked everywhere, cute apartment and breakfast provided - just what we needed for a short stay in Launceston.

92C is available, under very limited circumstances: 1. you must be travelling for 'allowed' work that makes it necessary to travel within Tas; 2. you must not be showing any Covid19 related symptoms 3. you must NOT be a frontline healthcare worker (that's a higher risk category for which Airbnb have nominated places) 4. there are a max 2 of you A highly regulated protocol for cleaning and disinfecting has been put in place.
We built 92C in 2010 to take advantage of the view. Many of the materials used were recycled.
Trevallyn is an eclectic neighbourhood ... many period homes that overlook the river. Lots of families and large gardens. A deli/cafe/bakery/specialty grocer is just up the road (1km) ... Trevallyn Grocer Trevallyn Bakery.

  • The apartment was all we were hoping for and more. A spectacular view up the Tamar, two comfortable bedrooms, fully provisioned kitchen and bathroom, and with all the extra thoughtful touches which make a weekend away relaxing and special. We were never looking for milk, a utensil or bowl or coaster... they were just there. More than that, TVs, DVDs, a Bluetooth speaker, books, cards, etc., together with choices of tea, cereals, and wine (for easy purchase) in the refrigerator. Thanks Jo and Brian for and wonderful weekend. We definitely hope to be back.

Personal touches and actual caring about her clients and what that makes this a great place to stay

  • Our stay at Forest Rd Apartments was all we had hoped for and more. The apartment has a great outlook and is well stocked with all the supplies you could need. • Garry and I loved staying at Tamar Ridge. We had a wonderful two days. The location is superb and the apartment more than comfortable. It was a good place to use as a base to explore Tamar Valley vineyards (Clover Hill and Jansz). Close to Velo for an evening meal, and not too far into town for the Harvest Market on Saturday morning.

  • Beautiful little tiny home with plenty of charm and style. Had everything we needed for a 3 night stay and lovely and quiet setting amongst the gardens. Great location too. Lovely and tidy. Only issue is there is a loft area for sleeping with limited space/headroom and a ladder to climb which wasn’t an issue for us but could be for others. Loved it ❤️ Would definitely stay again.

  • Excellent value for money! Maree and Dave were fantastic hosts, friendly and respectful of privacy. Their communication and directions were excellent, the cottage was sparkling clean and they’d included lots of thoughtful touches. Thankyou again!

  • Maree and David’s place was very comfortable clean and convenient to attractions of seahorse world platypus house and the Beaconsfield mine. I would recommend staying here.

  • Wonderful warm friendly hosts in a great locale. Cosy cottage for a stay in the beautiful Beauty Point.

  • Maree and Dave’s bungalow is a cosy space, perfect for a night or 2. They are warm and welcoming hosts, full of local info, but also left us to our own privacy. It’s generously provisioned, with lots of thoughtful touches, including the muffins on arrival. An excellent bed and a great way-station for our tour of the Tamar Valley.

    Teresa2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • As Airbnb virgins Maree & David made our first experience positive. They greeted us on arrival (Maree with delicious muffins), and showed us the cabin & explained the set-up, then left us to our privacy. The cabin was clean and had everything needed and the decription was accurate. Sharing their local knowledge was valuable and we took their dining recommendation - which was just as they described.

    Peter2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had an great time and Maree was an amazing host. She gave us plenty of local tips for sightseeing and made feel very comfortable. Highly recommend this stay. Thanks.

  • Maree and Dave are awesome hosts. Home cooked muffins on arrival were delicious. The space is small but very cute and charming, spotlessly clean and lots of lovely and thoughtful touches for travellers, and the location is beautiful. Thanks again Maree and Dave

    Terri-Lyn2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Maree and David for the great hospitality, and the welcome home-made muffins. We have had a sumptuous breakfast before leaving.

Domescapes in the Vines is located up the Tamar River, 25 minutes from Launceston, in the heart of the premium wine-growing region. Shops and other amenities are only 10 minutes away at either Beaconsfield or Exeter. The vineyard is located only 5 mins from the Batman Bridge and the Tamar River close to the many local attractions. Of course there than lots of great cellar doors and brewers such as Miners Gold Brewery, and a Wine Tour is highly recommended. Some of these include Platypus House, Sea Horse World, Hillwood Strawberry Farm and Glengarry Maze. But for great coffee, wine and cheese, walk 50m to the cellar door, or pre-order a hamper when booking.
  • A beautiful location with magic views of the vineyard. A perfect spot to relax and reset.

    Nick2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend Domescapes! Was a unique stay, perfectly located. Sitting amoungst the vines, staying within a stones throw to the celler door, magical!

    Dale2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the dome tent in the vines. Stunning decor with attention to detail. We loved sitting out on the deck with a wine in the evening and the breakfast provided in the morning was delicious. We had the pleasure of having a wine tasting here the day before we arrived so we were happy to just head down to the dome and chill out when we arrived. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Launceston, this is a unique and special experience. All the best Doug & the team!

    Charlotte2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay! The Dome is such a unique and wonderful experience. The space is stylish with beautiful views! Highly recommend.

    Sarah2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A must stay when travelling to Launceston! We have done glamping before in our home town of Victoria but this Dome experience is an incredible experience! It is set in the most beautiful location! We were provided with a complimentary wine tasting at the cellar door followed by a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch! A beautiful cosy space and the most comfy bed ever! Very clean and the breakfast hamper was also a great touch! Boris was so accomodating and I would highly recommend this Glamping experience to any of my friends/ family!

    Alana2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Boris's place was exceptional. A novelty experience and we'll worth the price point. The swinging gates vineyard and wine tasting added value to the experience. Highly recommend!

    Jason2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve always wanted to stay in a dome and we finally got the chance. The Dome was really well appointed and had a spectacular outlook over the vines, which made it really relaxing. Being on the vineyard, just down from the Swinging Gate cellar door meant we got to stop in for a tasting at checkin. Suggest pre ordering a cheese board to have with your tasting as the list is really extensive. Doug the winemaker made the tasting experience one of the best we have ever had, explaining the differences between the styles of wine in offer and describing how experimental they are with their wines. We were even lucky enough to taste wines straight from the barrel, as they were bottling the next day. From the tasting we got to choose a bottle of complementary wine to enjoy in the Dome. Amazing experience all round, highly recommended putting this on your list for somewhere to stay/visit in the Tamar Valley.

A short drive from Launceston, our cottage sits on the shores of the beautiful Tamar River. Ideally located on the wine route Lavender Cottage is perfect as a weekend retreat. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you read a book and catch the beauty of the early morning sun on the river. Centrally located in the midst of world-renowned boutique wineries the perfect place for the wine connoisseur.Relax as local birdlife skim the waters while you sip your wine.
This cottage is a rural rustic retreat. The cottage although small is quite roomy with 3 bedrooms(URL HIDDEN) A separate queen sized bedroom.A small single bedroom with one single bed and a trundle bed for extra smaller bodies. There is also a double sized bed in a room adjoining the lounge room area. The lounge room enjoys a very efficient woodheater which is most enjoyable during the cooler months (URL HIDDEN) is spacious with a very comfortable lounge/sofa.The lounge can double very comfortably as an extra bed if needed. The kitchen is cute and functional with all the usual accoutrements. Please nb this is an older style kitchen with narrow benches and small sink. However there is a big wooden table and a moveable island bench for extra bench space. We plan to update our sink and bench area very soon so please watch out for progress reports. Electric stove and oven, small fridge, toasters, electric jug, electric frypan and microwave if needed. Please be aware that because we have chosen not to use insecticides or poisons that there is always the possibility for a cobweb or 2. There is a cobweb broom under the staircase for removing any of these efficiently if you are affected by the appearance of these over a day or two. The bathroom has been totally refurbished and is clean and bright with an enclosed shower cubicle. The toilet is also located in the bathroom. A large living area to the left of the cottage is a gorgeous sun trap and the perfect place to sit and enjoy the early morning sun as it shines over the water and into the front rooms which are all set to catch the sun. Up the steep staircase is another gorgeous sunny room with views up and down the river. The 'reading nook' is a great place to bird watch or check life on the river in general. There is a washing machine in the laundry and drying can be done on the old fashioned hills hoist in the garden or on the drying rack inside. We trust that you will enjoy our cottage as much as we do however please note that we are in a rural, rustic setting. This entails being part of the natural world so bees, mosquitos, ants, spiders, flies and dust regularly find their way into and around the cottage. We do our very best to take preventative measures without resorting to unpleasant chemicals and always do a thorough clean between bookings. We are visited by native animals and wildlife and for this reason we do not use any pesticides or poisons on the property. It is important to dispose of all food scraps in the rubbish bins. Any bread or carbohydrates are considered to be a big no no for our native animals. The large decked area runs along the front of the cottage. Seating for 6 with a chimera wood heater and gas barbecue enables guests the option to cook outside and fully utilise and enjoy outdoor living and the magnificent views. The block is large with a beautiful garden both at the back and front of the cottage. Plenty of parking is available on a level clean surface. There is a small walk from the parking area through the garden to the entrance of the cottage. Mobility-challenged visitors may find this a problem so please be fully aware of the layout of our garden and the cottage entrance and parking arrangements. If you are not able bodied this location may not be suitable for you. Guests are welcome to water the garden as lavender loves lots of water and flower all year round if well watered. We hope all our guests will enjoy this special location, the deep relaxing quiet of the nightime and the clarity of the night sky are a unique pleasure in our device busy lives. We are delighted to be able to share the joys of Lavender Cottage with you.
Exeter is the closest nearby town. A larger hub is the town of Legana. Launceston is the largest close city and is only 20 minutes away.
  • Lavender Cottage is in a beautiful location on the Tamar River, perfect for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle. The house is well kept and very comfortable to live in. Lots of cute animals visit the property and it's a great way to see rabbits, ducks and pademelons up close.

    Simon2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful spot, quiet, relaxing and perfect as a base to explore all that's on offer in the Tamar region. The house was everything that we needed. Really enjoyed the peaceful deck alongside the river. Definitely recommend.

  • If you like something a bit rustic and quaint this is the place for you! Lovely location by the river and cute gardens. Eating in the sleepout area is like being on a boat looking out at the river..lovely! Great value accomodation to use as a base.

  • Amazing place along the Tamar river, with beautiful views. The house is amazing and spacious with lots of things to do. Lots of wildlife to watch as well with Brady’s lookout close by.

    Vikram2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. We were there for 2 weeks. It is a nice mix of old and new. Has a rustic, relaxing feel throughout the place, while the bathroom and kitchen have been done up. Beautiful setting - right on the Tamar river. It has a wallaby family who lives on the property - father, mother, and 2 sons. My children named them Willy, Wendy, Wally, and Walton. They graze on the grass around the house and were not scared of us watching them. Cate and Chuck communicated very well with us. If there was anything we needed they would provide. The house had everything we needed anyway. We hope to stay again next summer!

    James2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cate’s place is in an awesome location right on the river. We loved listening to the water lapping at the shore and the evening wildlife coming to visit in the beautiful garden. The house is exactly as described, very welcoming, with absolutely everything you need to have a homely, comfy stay. The bed is very good and the slow combustion wood fire toasty warm of an evening. It was clean and we lacked nothing. Loved the bird life, the flora and fauna, it felt like a home away from home. Thank you for sharing your space.

Budget priced double-bed room in a friendly suburban home. Off-street parking, NBN WiFi, bedding, towels, electric blanket, heater, desk & chair. Ingredients for a light breakfast. Suit 1 or 2 people who can appreciate this 'cheap & cheerful' room in our busy, unique family home! Share bathroom, toilet & laundry. Profile pic showing your face required. Please confirm that you AND 2nd guest HAVE read ALL my detailed description (Click on 'Read more about the space') or I'll request you to do so!
The quiet, comfortable Airbnb guest room in my vibrant, busy and unique Peel Street West Launceston family home offers you an economical alternative to being in a backpacker hostel or camping. We are actually cheaper than a tent site at the local caravan park and don't charge an additional cleaning fee!! My Airbnb listing is welcoming, friendly, clean, cheap & cheerful. We are a busy, vibrant household with people 'on the go' at all times, and WE LIVE HERE TOO!! My private areas of my home, including my kitchen, are NOT accessible to guests. We are NOT a hotel, you are staying in a room in MY home with no pretense of pristine luxury, and this is reflected in the affordable price I charge for the budget conscious traveller. I care about my guests, and need to know that their expectations will be met. My Airbnb listing is best suited for independent, easy going travelers who appreciate the quirks of my alternative budget-priced, friendly place, understand that they will be sharing facilities (inc bathroom) with other residents, and that this is a vibrant and busy family home. As well as myself and my 30 year old son (Ariel), a Chinese student (Will) also lives in my home (so Mandarin Chinese as well as English is spoken). There may also be a couple of other friends/helpx helpers staying here. Like most Australian families, we have pets. Two cats, "Kilara" and "George", also live here, but they keep to themselves, and we have some chooks that sometimes roam in the garden. Free NBN WiFi available. We are LGBTIQ / Gay Friendly. We are in a safe, quiet suburban neighborhood with off-street parking provided in a designated spot beside my house. As we are on an 'internal block' behind the house facing the street, so there is a long gravel driveway to access my property. Please drive slowly and carefully when you enter and leave my driveway, there is a bit of a 'dip' at the street end. Children OK, if sharing your bed. Your room, which also has a separate door opening onto an outdoor verandah area, is bright, quiet, neat, tidy and clean. It is suitable for either a single person or a couple, as there is only one (double) bed in it, and no space to add another. The room has a heater, desk and chair, mirror, cupboards, bedside lights, and a comfortable double bed with an electric blanket and good bedding. Tourist information, reading material, free book exchange, towels and toiletries are also supplied. Ingredients for a light breakfast, use of a small fridge, microwave and tea/coffee/toast making facilities are provided for you in a utility room close to your bedroom. I provide freshly laundered towels and bed linen, and your room is neat, clean and tidy. When booking, please indicate that you, and the 2nd guest (if there is one), HAVE read ALL my detailed description by writing "Yes, I read all your detailed description" or I will request you to do so before I accept your booking. Please let me know the NAMES of ALL guests and make sure you have a clear photo of all guest's faces. I like to know who is arriving to stay with us here! . I don't charge you an extra cleaning fee or bond, to keep my prices low and affordable. There is no en-suite (you will be SHARING the bathroom, toilet, laundry and other facilities with all of the other household residents), but my Airbnb room is priced accordingly and I offer great value for money for the budget-conscious traveller who appreciates staying in a local family home, and the amenities I make available for them. These include providing ingredients for a light breakfast, fruit, tea and coffee, toiletries, tourist information, reading material and a 'book exchange', as well as laundry facilities on request. You can come and go as you like, and have total privacy in your room, but this IS a vibrant and busy household with visitors visiting and people on the go at all hours... though your bedroom is at the quiet end of the house, with a lock on the door, ensuring privacy when you are in or away from the room. Free NBN WiFi Internet available. All facilities are shared, including toilet, bathroom (with shower and separate bathtub) and laundry (which has a washing machine and dryer, plus washing powder, as well as an iron and ironing board). A small fridge, with its own little freezer, plus tea/coffee making facilities, a microwave oven, a toaster, electric kettle, sandwich toaster and ingredients (bread, cereals, jams & spreads, fruit, milk, tea and coffee) for a light breakfast are provided for you in the laundry/utility room, next-door to your bedroom, so you can help yourself whenever you like! PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION! My home is in West Launceston, a suburb about 10 minutes drive from the CBD, and about 20 minutes from the airport, and like most of Launceston, we are on a HILL and the street is STEEP. We are NOT in the CBD, but are an easy, short drive away. PLEASE note that my exact location is pinned on the map with my listing, so before you book check this carefully, so there will be no need for YOU to make a mistake on 'location' and unfairly penalise me for this!! I get VERY upset when I find that guests have given me a lower 'star rating' for 'Location' because they didn't bother to find the exact address on the map and complain that we were 'hard to find' or that I didn't give them the correct address! There is a large sign on a tree at my letterbox that says that the entrance is via 'this driveway' and this is also written in Chinese at the bottom of the sign! There is a local bus service, and a bus stop just up the road, but we ARE in the suburbs, not in the city, so there are no shops or restaurants in my immediate neighborhood, but there are a couple of supermarkets and places to eat a short drive away. I can usually arrange to collect you from central Launceston on request. To get to my home from the airport there is a taxi (about $45) and shuttle bus service ($25 per person). I can often arrange an airport pick and/or delivery (for $20 per journey each way). My home is number 91A, it is on an INTERNAL BLOCK, access is via the LOWER driveway, DOWN THE HILL from house number 91 and DIRECTLY beside it. I am located BEHIND that house! There is a sign on a tree at the beginning of my long gravel driveway saying "91A Entrance This Driveway". Call or message me if you need more directions.
LOCATION. Please note, I am being extremely accurate about my location... we are in the SUBURBS, not the city! West Launceston is an appealing, safe neighborhood about 10 minutes drive from the CBD and about 20 minutes from the AIRPORT. Like most of Launceston, we are on a HILL. There is a long gravel driveway from the street to my home, which is located on an 'internal block' so is not visible from the street. There is a sign on a tree near my letterbox, saying '.... 91A this driveway....'.

  • Expect a loving lady full of surprises and caring she will come to talk but if you need your space she respects that too. You need any thing just ask her. She goes out of her way to help people.

  • Staying at Yvonne’s place was quiet the Air B & B experience! Amazing hospitality! We had a blast, met some great people and made some memories. Yvonne was a fantastic and welcoming host, she made us feel at home and even picked us up from the bus! My advice is read the description carefully, Yvonne’s place is exactly as she advertises. We will most certainly be back again!
