We had a fantastic stay at Tim’s place! The location was perfect – just around the corner from local amenities and right in the heart of town. It was also only about 10 minutes to the forest and around 30 minutes to Whitby, which made day trips really easy. The hot tub was spotless and ready to use as soon as we arrived, and we were greeted with a lovely bottle of Prosecco – such a thoughtful touch. Tim was an incredibly responsive and understanding host throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back in the future

We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated and well equipped, making us feel right at home. The area and scenery were beautiful, making for the perfect relaxing stay.

Had a lovely weekend at this cottage for my partner’s birthday. Hot tub was gorgeous, even better in the rain. House was beautiful and having the chickens running around outside was fabulous. Marisa was the perfect host. Answered questions quickly and was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely cottage.

3 Railway Cottage is a fantastic base to explore the amazing beauty of North Yorkshire. The cottage is located a 20 minute walk from the centre of Pickering but is in a really quiet and private location. The only exception of course is the opportunity to wave at the heritage railway trains that pass at the back of the cottage a few times a day which is really amazing, especially if you wave from the comfort of the hot tub! I can’t recommend this location highly enough, it is a really comfortable and well equipped cottage in a fantastic location - what more could you ask for?

Lovely cottage in a great location. Walking the surrounding area from the house was great and very near to a pub and tearoom which both served great food. The hot tub was an added bonus!

Really enjoyable stay. Everything was perfect, and I would return if I were back in the area. The location was peaceful, private, and surrounded by beautiful nature — exactly what I was hoping for. The space was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway.

Lovely relaxing cottage with everything we needed. Very cosy and relaxing setting with great views from back windows. Enclosed garden for dog or children. Hot tub was a great perk which was well used by us. Rillington village within 10 min walk which had a small shop and a nice pub ( the fleece). Tips for other travellers The fleece in rillington has a nice garden of weather nice and the food was nice too and dog friendly Ham and cheese which is a 5 minute drive the food was very good and dog friendly too although probably too far to walk Lots of walks nearby, we went to dalby Forrest, mallyham spout in goathland and Levisham near Pickering New Connie’s Chinese in malton was also very good

Amazing Stay at The Old Potting Shed! This break was a last minute booking for us and really exceeded our expectations. The old potting shed is a beautiful accommodation, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The hosts James and Rachel could not have been more responsive or more friendly. I had mentioned it was my birthday and the property was decorated with balloons, chocolates and prosecco. We had fresh eggs in the morning from their hens which was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. Every utensil you could think of was provided, it really was a little home from home! Location was just a short drive into York but there are some nice walks nearby. We also enjoyed the local village pub which was just at the end of the long driveway, food and drinks were delicious. Overall I’m so glad we found this place, it’s a credit to the hosts. We have recommended to family and friends and can’t wait to return. Thanks again for your hospitality James & Rachel x

The cottage is located in a quiet, beautiful small village, close to Castle Howard. It is very well decorated, nicely equipped and charming . The hosts are very pleasant and helpful. We certainly enjoyed our visit. Bonus, castle ruins are next door!

A delightful cottage in a great location. Close to centre of Helmsley, very short walk to shops, restaurants and attractions. Another plus is the parking space for your car. Had a fabulous stay and made to feel very welcome, thank you Jacqui.

This was my second stay - just as lovely as before, very clean, comfy and in a lovely location equally convenient for the town centre and the castle (up and down the hill). Clemmie is a great host - responsive and helpful.

Crossmore Lodge is a very comfortable and welcoming home from home. Its location is ideal for easy access to York centre with its many attractions and restaurants as well as out to the surrounding area. Anne is an excellent host and is on hand to answer any questions and to offer any assistance necessary. We will certainly return to Crossmore Lodge if, or when, we visit the York area again.

We are a family of 3 generations and the property suited us perfectly. Excellent location for Ampleforth College and beyond. Helmsley Pickering and further afield. Very easy to communicate with Marian who gets straight back to you when contacted. An excellent property and lovely and warm in winter. Good parking space directly outside the property.

We had a lovely time, explored the local village, as well as short car drives to Helmsley and Thirsk. The cottage was spotless, with comfortable beds, quality bedding and extremely well equipped kitchen. A peaceful garden with fabulous views. We enjoyed caring for the chickens who rewarded us with eggs. Thank you Faron.

A lovely property with everything you need in an absolutely stunning area. This place really is an escape to the country. Everything is provided, you just need your food. Jess is a helpful host and very responsive. We all enjoyed our stay.

Sara was very friendly & helpful, with great suggestions for the areas attractions. Loved the well in the kitchen floor, amazing feature 🤩 The Garden Lodge was clean & tidy & the kitchen was well equipped. Very private & peacful place to relax. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou Sara x

The Spinney is a cosy comfortable cottage and is well equipped. The location is in beautiful countryside and ideal for a peaceful relaxing getaway. Micheal is a lovely Host and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and he was always interested in our adventures. Both he and Caroline were so friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to stay.

We have thoroughly enjoyed an all too brief, relaxing stay at Tarrs Yard. From entering the charming cottage, to leaving, one can't fail to be impressed by all that Lizzie and Andy have so stylishly created. The helpful, informative folder inside the cottage provides for guests' range of interests and enables visitors to capitalise on the hosts' wealth of knowledge and experience of the area. We can't wait to return and anticipate discovering more of what this area affords, whilst assured of a restful, peaceful property to daily return to. We have just spent the most wonderful week at Crossing Cottage. It is charming, peaceful, idyllic and surrounded by nature but also close enough to any amenities, shops and restaurants in the pretty town of Helmsley. On arrival the cottage was immaculate with comfy beds, great shower and toiletries, kitchen with everything you might need and the wood fired hot tub which we spent many evenings enjoying. Thank you Karen for your hospitality, the bottle of fizz and goodies on arrival and your attention to detail. Crossing cottage is truly a very special place to stay.

What an absolute find. A beautifully refurbished and fitted cottage, immaculately presented and ready for us. The welcome hamper was indeed very welcome. If you are into alpacas, this is a great place to stay as Deborah and Nicky are experts. It’s a great place for accessing the north York moors and coming back to a quiet and restful night (the bed was super comfy). Deborah and Nicky were extremely welcoming and always available. We’ve been to many AirBNB places and can honestly say this is the best one yet. 10/10.

We had a lovely stay in Katie’s cottage. It was beautifully clean and well furnished. The bathroom was very spacious and looked newly done and the kitchen had everything we needed. It had lots of work surface and plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was perfect. I can highly recommend the cottage.

Set in beautiful, peaceful location in the North York countryside. Super comfortable bed and excellent kitchen and shower, all you need for a lovely holiday.

This was our second stay at the property and it was just as brilliant as our first. Plenty to do within driving distance and a lovely local area to go walking. The property is beautiful and our 5 year old boy loved it even more than last time.
