Vacation rentals with lake access in River Nairn

Really loved this spot! Close to a lot but private as well. Highly recommend

One of our best stays ever! You must have a car to reach there and to get to the "nearest" supermarkets. You can't rely on food delivery while you're staying there. Our purpose was to stay out of the busy areas and enjoy the nature, for that it is perfect, there are many hiking routes nearby, beautiful lakes and rivers. Short drive away and you'll be at Loch Ness. The building itself is beautiful and the kitchen has everything you need. Bedroom was nice and we loved to wake up to the sound of the birds. Tip 1: Look up driving etiquettes for single-track roads in Scotland beforehand. Tip 2: Re-think, if you have fear of spiders (or keep every window closed, there was nothing until we opened the windows).

Sometimes you end up unlocking gems and this one was just that. It was everything we imagined and more. Highland exploration was extremely accessible while the cottage was good enough to just stay there and enjoy as well.

Lovely place and area. Great local pub. Lovely walks. Very responsive owners. Very clean and comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely to sit by the fire, plenty of coal and wood supplied.

I’ve stayed in many airbnb properties, this place is personally my best. Fiona is responsive, friendly, and provides crystal-clear instructions, with everything thoughtfully labeled. The place is incredibly spacious, with every room offering breathtaking views of Loch Ness. The cleanliness is impeccable, and the attention to detail, like labeled instruction, trash cans, and manuals was a very nice touch. The outdoor space is a highlight by itself, a large private yard, BBQ, benches overlooking the lake, and a private parking lot. Nearby alpacas and horses add charm to the experience. The area is quiet and peaceful, I got to hear nothing but the lake, wind, and birds. This stay was beyond wonderful, and my only regret is not booking more days. I am seriously considering to visit northern Scotland just to stay here again. Highly recommend.

George was an excellent host, providing a warm welcome and great communication in advance of our visit. This is a wonderful house in a beautiful location, and perfect for groups of all ages. Plenty of bathrooms and rooms for relaxing. We enjoyed a week here in mid-June. There were nine adults at one stage, and there was space for us all. I highly recommend Zippity-do-da to anyone visiting this part of Scotland.

Me and my parents booked this place for a night on the way to isle of skye and had the most amazing experience. The airbnb itself was way bigger than expected and was extremely clean. And then the grounds around it were even nicer. I was initially drawn in by the pool but we ended up spending the whole night in the billiard room that’s in the old refractory. The staff at the club is super nice and gives you a tour explaining all the history of the place while showing you to the room. Fort Augustus is also a really cute town to explore. overall the best place I’ve stayed so far in Scotland!!

Pristine and super comfortable hideaway in beautiful surroundings. The place is better than the photos portray. Very very comfortable bed and lovely & bright living space. Very private including a lovely little outdoor area to relax in the sunshine. The shed with freezer and dryer was very useful for storing bikes. Leanne & Darrin were very responsive and helpful. The location is superb for exploring right from the door or for going further afield. We loved it so much we’ve booked for next year. Such a restorative place to stay.

What a magical place to spend time relaxing! The abbey and apartments are stunning. With lounge windows facing Loch Ness, a large bathroom with a claw foot bath, a substantial master bedroom and separate twin room, it really was a home from home. Fort Augustus is centrally located, and a beautiful little village. We hired a car and travelled extensively through the Highlands. Glencoe is around an hour away, Ben Nevis around 45 minutes, Inverness around 40 minutes, and Balmoral Castle was 2.5 hours away with a spectacular drive through the Cairngorms. I absolutely recommend staying here as your base. You will not regret it. The only thing I would caution is the apartment is on the top floor. This means climbing 6 flights of stairs. There is no lift, so bear this in mind if you have anyone with mobility issues travelling with you. Jonathan, the host, is fantastic in all his communication. Nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be coming back!

The staff on site and host were very responsive in all the messages. I love taking an evening walk around the lake where it’s peaceful and quiet. Thank you so much for hosting us.

What an amazing place! Keeping the beauty of such a historical building felt like we were stepping back in time. Lots of room for all 6 of us and especially appreciated the kitchen . In a great location to explore the outdoors . Beautiful location! We loved the place and had an amazing time! Loved the amenities especially the pool. The beauty and peacefulness of the place is hard to describe.

Angela's place in Findhorn is simply beautiful and we had everything we needed from the amazing location, to the accommodation itself being exactly as advertised to the way the apartment is decorated and furnished. Angela made everything very easy for us; it is true, she does reply within 1 hour and we felt so welcome when we arrived. The fire was lit, there was prosecco chilling and the lamps we already on. The bay in Findhorn is stunning and the apartment is right on the sea front. It's a short walk to the sandy part of the bay to see the seals and there is a lovely pub, The Kimberley, no more than 100 metres up the road. Everything was wonderful. I would highly recommend Angela's place and we will definitely stay there again when we return to Findhorn. Thank you again.

Great visit, accommodations were nice and rooms were clean. Our kids loved playing by the river and walking the trails. We had several lovely meals, especially enjoyed the boathouse restaurant nearby. We had an unexpected late arrival and the host helped us check in remotely without a hitch.

We loved our stay at the old abbey - we felt a bit like Harry Potter at Hogwarts. The apartment was clean, well equipped and very spacious. The abbey's outdoor area is a dream and the pool is wonderful!

Me, my partner, two of our close friends and our greyhound Louis had a magical week at the boathouse. Not only were we blessed with end to end sunshine, but the boat house was so wonderful, that for several days we didn't leave the accommodation. The photos on here do not do the boathouse justice, it was spotless and brimming with character - not to mention the bathrooms were wonderful! Huge recommendation would be to bring or rent a kayak for the lake, we spent hours having fun on there and it would be the perfect pastime for children too! Perfect spot for a couples holiday, a romantic getaway, or even a family holiday! We will definitely be back.

Lovely old house, very cute decorations. I’m not sure it’s possible to get a large suitcase up those stairs! Cottage is pretty much as pictured and described, though the “breathtaking uninterrupted views” from the property are not from the cottage windows. You won’t have a view of the loch from the cottage. You do have a nice view across the canal to a building that looks rather like a castle. It’s a very quick walk to the loch viewing point. It takes only a moment longer to get into town. The Moorings restaurant is excellent. The Spar will have most of your basic grocery needs. I also found it quite interesting to watch boats going up the canal via the locks. The Loch Ness Center & Exhibition and Urquhart Castle are a short drive away in Drumnadrochit.

Joyce and Gus were wonderful hosts making us feel very welcome. The freshly baked bread waiting for us was absolutely amazing. The recommendations of thing's to do and places to visit was great and we would definitely return again.

Lovely, spacious and spotless house, exceedingly well-equipped and very comfortable. Responsive hosts. Handy location in Newtonmore. There's a £150 security deposit outside of Airbnb, which is mentioned in the House Rules of the description. Having spoken with our hosts, I can understand why they ask for it. It was returned promptly. Highly recommend this if you're after a generously sized, comfortable house in the Cairngorms.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage with our family of four, including two little children. The cottage is very spacious, clean, and well-equipped - especially the kitchen, which had everything we needed. The garden was a real bonus - perfect for the kids to run around and enjoy. The location is excellent! There’s a great café just around the corner, and Aviemore is very close by with plenty of shops, restaurants and a lot of attractions can easily reached by car. The surrounding nature is beautiful, with lots of outdoor activities nearby. Allison was a wonderful host - very responsive, proactive, and full of helpful suggestions for things to do in the area. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

The cottage was beautiful, in a great location and so private. It had almost everything we needed for the nine of us and made for a perfect long weekend. It was clean, cosy and well presented. Check in and check out was incredibly easy. Thanks for having us!

A nice, convenient location in Scotland. Good sized rooms in accommodation. Kids enjoyed having a pool available when it was raining.
