Monthly Rentals in River Lathkill

Me and my mum had a wonderful stay here. The village is beautiful, and well equipped with pubs! We had a delicious dinner at the Farmyard Inn which was a 10/15 minute walk from the house, there is a pub less than 5 minutes walk away however. It is only a 10 minute drive into Bakewell down some very scenic country lanes. The room itself was super cosy, we had everything we needed, including a smart TV so we could binge watch Charmed in the evening. We were welcomed in person, Phil and Diane are both super friendly and helpful, Ben their dog, is absolutely gorgeous and loved a fuss. There was homemade sourdough bread on the side when we checked in, along with freshly picked strawberries from their garden, drinks, butter, the list goes on, we felt very cared for and appreciated it greatly. We didn't use the sauna but it looked brilliant. Overall we would definitely stay here again, it was so peaceful.

We had a lovely stay at this fabulous place. The house is exactly as the pictures show and as it is described. Tim was very communicative and all instructions were very clear. The house and garden are in excellent condition and lived up to expectations. There were some nice touches too, fresh flowers, a welcoming Bakewell Tart and containers of ‘help yourself’ sweets! Our party consisted of 4 couples and the property easily accommodated us all, both inside and out.

The photos do not do this cottage justice- beautifully finished, clean, comfortable & cosy, with everything you need for a lovely weekend away. In a great location with two lovely food pubs within easy walking distance & the discovery of a lovely little cake shop at the top of the road too. Lots of lovely walks on the doorstep- 5 mins walk down to the river which our little boy and dog loved splashing in. Wendy is a fantastic host, highly recommend.

What a wonderful little charming cottage to have found. The cottage was clean, tidy and had everything you needed for a stay. The surroundings were beautiful with walks from the door and so peaceful! The hosts provided everything we needed for our stay and were very responsive and helpful but not over powering, giving us our space to enjoy our break. We were throughly impressed and so happy to have found Owl Cottage. We will be back for certain!
