Vacation rentals with a fireplace in North Devon District

Kate and Ali were very welcoming hosts with a fantastic decorative eye! The space is wonderful and the photos don’t give justice to the space or quirkiness which was right up our street. They were thoughtful with a welcome pack and provisions for us to be starting off with, especially the eggs! They were readily available with batteries when we needed them and provided lots of helpful input about the surrounding area. We loved the alpacas and the hens and were sad that we only spent time with Spiderman on our first day as he kept his distance thereafter. We really enjoyed the space which worked perfectly for our party, with access to a WC/bathroom on each level. Thanks again, Kate and Ali

Laura’s place is an absolute gem! It is so tastefully designed and well appointed. The location itself is very special too. Everything has been thought of for a comfortable stay. I loved lighting a fire at night and looking out to the garden in the morning. Laura is super warm and welcoming—knowledgeable about the area too. This stay is one of the best in my books to date! Absolutely worth a visit.

Great stay that gives you so much more than you would get for the same price as a Travelodge. Small but well laid out and ample room for 2 + infant and a dog. We particularly enjoyed the location.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Clean, great views, peaceful setting and a perfect base for walking the south west coast path. Ken and Laura were excellent hosts and gave us lots of local information. We hope to return again soon. Highly recommend.

What can we say, from booking our stay, to leaving after an amazing week, we truly felt at home. Kam and Bens home is beautiful throughout, there wasn’t one thing that we thought we needed or wanted that wasn’t provided for. Kam met us on arrival, earlier than we expected, and showed us around her wonderful home, all instructions in a helpful guide in the kitchen, even tide times, for trips. Great advice for our trip to Lundy, she even sent us up to date weather forecast . Kam provided us with mobile numbers if we were stuck for anything, and ensured it was ok for Ben to check the hot-tub, when we were out. Lovely touches, such as robes for getting out of the tub, were much appreciated. Superb hosts, will definitely visit again, our daughter and her partner joined us for a few days and loved every minute, lovely walk to the beach, only 10mins away, and the most amazing sunsets from the lounge and bedroom . Very neat flat in the middle of Woolacombe. Pubs, restaurants, coffee houses and shops all within short walking distance. The are has so many walks and running routes as well as great swimming and surfing so great for active folk. Will definitely look to see if available again as this place is perfect for the area

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean upon arrival, bright and comfortable. Quiet at night. Nice views from the living area over the harbor and looking over the town from the large bedroom. As Suzanne had noted in the listing, there is no assigned parking space which could be an issue. We had to pay to park the day of arrival. It’s free after 6pm until 8am. One item we’d suggest adding would be a clothes hanger for drying as the machine didn’t seem to actually dry anything. We’d highly recommend Seagulls restaurant (book in advance). Unassuming place but food was excellent. We also liked Platform for a Sunday roast and Rise for breakfast. The George was decent. If we’re back in West Bay, we’d definitely stay again.

Lovely two nights in this hidden gem. We were late bookers and delighted with location, accommodation and hosts. For the two of us and our hound it was perfect; we received a welcome greeting and the treats were a lovely surprise. Shame for us we only had two nights there.

We had an awesome couple of nights in Barbrook! The apartment is super spacious- much more so than photos would suggest- and has everything you need for a cosy and comfortable few days exploring Exmoor and the north Devon coast. Spa bath is a really fun touch and great after a day of walking. Amazing location with river and trees literally on your doorstep, and the sea and Lynton 5mins away. Overall this place is great value for money, and we would definitely stay again if in the area. Thanks for a great weekend!

Just got home after a 4 day stay at The Wheatstore and am jumping on the 5 star review bandwagon. Just the loveliest of stays, beautiful accommodation that felt just like home. A 2 minute drive or a 20 minute walk to Polzeath beach. Clare & Mike are lovely people and happy to help if you need anything. Will definitely be back. Our new home from home 🥰

We had a great stay here! Christina was really friendly making us feel right at home. She gave us some local recommendations and allowed us to come and go with zero hassle. The surroundings are stunning and we could have sat by the window all day. Great walking near by. Beach is a drive able day trip too.

Loved our stay. Beautiful apartment, absolutely spotless and had everything you could possibly need. Loved the area it was in- walkable distance from the High Street in Minehead yet very peaceful with great walks from the doorstep through streets of beautiful houses and amazing views. Was visiting our daughter and didn’t realise Minehead was such a nice town with beautiful places such as Lynmouth and Porlock pretty near. Thank you for such a lovely place to stay

Such a lovely restful location. Everything was well looked after and clean. We would absolutely book to come back

First impressions of the resort were very disappointing. The so called bungalows near the car park were shabby, some looked to be abandoned and derelict. Our spirits continued to be dampened as we walked up through the resort towards Sandy Toes but on arrival we were pleasantly surprised. Sandy Toes was in our opinion the best villa/chalet on the resort. The outside was well looked after and had obviously been updated. The decking was great and enabled us to let the dogs wander around freely. Inside continued to impress. It had everything we needed, very well equipped, clean and spotlessly tidy. All bedding was well laundered and the beds themselves were comfortable. The only negatives were there was damp smell in the bathroom, this was more noticeable in the morning or when returning to the villa, oh and we struggled to tune the TV channels but I guess that could be down to user error! Thanks Louise for making sure we had everything we needed for our week away.

Your quick responses made everything so easy, and the beautiful birthday basket you left for me was such a kind and unexpected gesture that really made my day. A Perfect Devon Escape – More Than We Could Have Hoped For! Our 3-day stay at this spacious North Devon villa was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the welcoming touches – including three bottles of wine that set the tone for a truly relaxing getaway. The kitchen was fully equipped, not just with all the essential utensils and appliances, but even stocked with some food items – a rare and thoughtful detail that made cooking a pleasure. Every corner of the villa is beautifully decorated, with stylish bedrooms and elegant dining areas that make you feel right at home. The highlight, though, has to be the stunning garden – a peaceful haven complete with comfortable garden furniture, hammocks, a garden cot with bedding, a grill, a cozy fireplace, and even a camping fire setup perfect for evening gatherings under the stars. Beautiful house, thoughtfully decorated and a pleasure to spend time in. It is also huge so lots of space to make yourself at home. All appliances, white goods etc in perfect working order and all furniture comfortable and tidy, linens and towels very clean etc. The house throughout was very clean. Parking permits available on arrival so very easy and we had no issues with parking during our week long stay. Easy to walk to the seafront, shopping mall, aquarium etc and we enjoyed the walks. Very small asks would be to provide more dinner plates, side plates and bowls. As a family of 5 we went through everything in a day but it’s not enough to fill the dishwasher so no break from washing up on hols! A few basics like salt, pepper, oil would be welcomed to help with home cooking. As I said very small asks. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this home away from home for anyone travelling to Plymouth.

The most stunning home to spend some quiet, wholesome family time and get out of London. The walk down to the beach was definitely worth it (our 4 year old agreed) The house is so amazing with its high ceilings and grand rooms and amazing antique furniture. We had all the grandparents with us and 2 kids and there was plenty of space.

Just spent a lovely week at Jan's in a party of 13. Beautiful house and gardens in a very peaceful location. Garden was huge and had wonderful views of the lake. House was equipped with everything you need, even down to shampoo and extra bath sheets for the jacuzzi! Will definately be visiting again. Thank you Jan.
