Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Mid Devon District

We had the most wonderful week at the Rocket House. James has created the most wonderfully welcoming and enjoyable space. The house was truly more beautiful than we anticipated. It had everything we needed. The amenities were functional and well-appointed. The whole house was well-suited for our needs and was incredibly livable. My favorite part was the windows. If I have to clean up from dinner, the view made it so much more enjoyable. Additionally, the house was spotless and easily accessible. Check-in and check-out were super easy. Also, learning about the history of the house made it more meaningful to discover the specialness of the location and the house's origins. I CANNOT say enough good things about the location. The SW Coast Path is literally just outside the door. The views were stunning. Working with James was a joy. He was communicative, informative, and accommodating. I have already sent this listing to multiple friends!

Wonderful cottage in a peaceful location. Great base for exploring Devon with the kids. Very dog friendly too and the fenced off woods were a fantastic bonus. Cottage was a typical farm cottage (which is what we like) and was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The kids loved watching the horses each day. We wanted to get away from it all in a part of Dartmoor we hadn't been to before and Steve's place seemed to fit the bill. When we got there, we found that it more than met our expectations! The Barn was exactly what we were looking for: a wonderful peaceful location and extremely comfortable and very well-equipped accommodation. The big selling point for us was the fact that the Barn was on lots of well-mapped walks, so that we could go on lovely walks in all directions without having to get in the car. Steve and Tessa were the perfect hosts; they made us feel most welcome and we found we had a lot in common. We very much enjoyed our short stay and look forward to returning to the Barn before long to explore the area further.

Perfect place for family get together for 50th/16th birthday. Great indoor games space & outdoor grass space (for football) for children age 9-16 and adults. With hot tub being an added bonus. Really spacious & comfortable accomodation. Had all you needed, with lovely additional touches (welcome choc & birthday banner) & very responsive communication from Becky to help with planning. We had a lovely weekend, visiting wimbleball for walk and watersports and knightshayes. We know the area well, growing up locally, so a lovely location to reminis on old memories & create new. From booking to coming home (something I did not want to do) Caroline and Steve were amazing. Great communication, friendly faces, beautiful property, beautiful gardens, the annex is cute and cosy in every detail. Towels and rooms smell divine. This was a great location for our stay near Sidmouth where we had friends visiting over the weekend. Sidbury is a charming English village just outside Sidmouth, with a lot of traditional thatched cottages. The property has a lovely little garden where we sat and enjoyed the scenery and listened to the stream running past. It was the perfect place for a long weekend getaway to rest and recuperate.

Leilas appartment has a lovely view of the harbour. The walk down is fairly steep so consequently so is the walk back. It’s a good central point for checking out North Devon.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean upon arrival, bright and comfortable. Quiet at night. Nice views from the living area over the harbor and looking over the town from the large bedroom. As Suzanne had noted in the listing, there is no assigned parking space which could be an issue. We had to pay to park the day of arrival. It’s free after 6pm until 8am. One item we’d suggest adding would be a clothes hanger for drying as the machine didn’t seem to actually dry anything. We’d highly recommend Seagulls restaurant (book in advance). Unassuming place but food was excellent. We also liked Platform for a Sunday roast and Rise for breakfast. The George was decent. If we’re back in West Bay, we’d definitely stay again.

We had a great stay here! Christina was really friendly making us feel right at home. She gave us some local recommendations and allowed us to come and go with zero hassle. The surroundings are stunning and we could have sat by the window all day. Great walking near by. Beach is a drive able day trip too.

A fabulous apartment in a fantastic location. The place was stylish, very comfortable and oozed quality. Jose was a very responsive, friendly host. The guests I brought had a perfect first stay in Topsham and are already planning their next visit.

Loved our stay. Beautiful apartment, absolutely spotless and had everything you could possibly need. Loved the area it was in- walkable distance from the High Street in Minehead yet very peaceful with great walks from the doorstep through streets of beautiful houses and amazing views. Was visiting our daughter and didn’t realise Minehead was such a nice town with beautiful places such as Lynmouth and Porlock pretty near. Thank you for such a lovely place to stay

An absolutely lovely flat. Comfortable, tastefully decorated and furnished & lovingly styled. Everything you need is there and everything was spotless. The gardens are beautiful and it’s a very peaceful location. Just a 10/15 minute walk along the River Lim into Lyme and the beach front. Samantha is a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful. I recommend highly!

We booked here as two couples and had an amazing stay. Jacqui met us when we arrived and was very friendly and showed us what we needed to know. Everything was spotless and it is a very peaceful area. The swimming pool is fabulous and very well kept. The kitchen has everything you need. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will be recommending to friends and family.

Perfect location for walking to the seafront, shops and restaurants. Very cosy cottage, with a beautiful garden area (prettier in reality than in the fotos) where we sat in the evenings and enjoyed the quiet after a day on the beach/hunting for fossils. Mike was the perfect host, very helpful and easy to get in touch with.

First impressions of the resort were very disappointing. The so called bungalows near the car park were shabby, some looked to be abandoned and derelict. Our spirits continued to be dampened as we walked up through the resort towards Sandy Toes but on arrival we were pleasantly surprised. Sandy Toes was in our opinion the best villa/chalet on the resort. The outside was well looked after and had obviously been updated. The decking was great and enabled us to let the dogs wander around freely. Inside continued to impress. It had everything we needed, very well equipped, clean and spotlessly tidy. All bedding was well laundered and the beds themselves were comfortable. The only negatives were there was damp smell in the bathroom, this was more noticeable in the morning or when returning to the villa, oh and we struggled to tune the TV channels but I guess that could be down to user error! Thanks Louise for making sure we had everything we needed for our week away.

A Perfect Devon Escape – More Than We Could Have Hoped For! Our 3-day stay at this spacious North Devon villa was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the welcoming touches – including three bottles of wine that set the tone for a truly relaxing getaway. The kitchen was fully equipped, not just with all the essential utensils and appliances, but even stocked with some food items – a rare and thoughtful detail that made cooking a pleasure. Every corner of the villa is beautifully decorated, with stylish bedrooms and elegant dining areas that make you feel right at home. The highlight, though, has to be the stunning garden – a peaceful haven complete with comfortable garden furniture, hammocks, a garden cot with bedding, a grill, a cozy fireplace, and even a camping fire setup perfect for evening gatherings under the stars. Beautiful house, thoughtfully decorated and a pleasure to spend time in. It is also huge so lots of space to make yourself at home. All appliances, white goods etc in perfect working order and all furniture comfortable and tidy, linens and towels very clean etc. The house throughout was very clean. Parking permits available on arrival so very easy and we had no issues with parking during our week long stay. Easy to walk to the seafront, shopping mall, aquarium etc and we enjoyed the walks. Very small asks would be to provide more dinner plates, side plates and bowls. As a family of 5 we went through everything in a day but it’s not enough to fill the dishwasher so no break from washing up on hols! A few basics like salt, pepper, oil would be welcomed to help with home cooking. As I said very small asks. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this home away from home for anyone travelling to Plymouth.

This Airbnb exceeded expectations. Super clean, in a lovely and peaceful area, and the hot tub was absolutely the highlight – so relaxing! The sauna was a great bonus too. For the price, it was an incredible value. Would definitely stay again!

The most stunning home to spend some quiet, wholesome family time and get out of London. The walk down to the beach was definitely worth it (our 4 year old agreed) The house is so amazing with its high ceilings and grand rooms and amazing antique furniture. We had all the grandparents with us and 2 kids and there was plenty of space.
