Cabin vacation rentals in Merrimac

My two best friends and I stayed at the fabulous Refugio Graziella for a relaxing girls’ weekend and it. was. perfect. Most of the weekend was spent lounging and chatting in all the many wonderful spaces the home offers: sipping coffee on the peaceful screened-in porch, relaxing in the hot tub, roasting marshmallows at the serene fire pit under the string lights with ample firewood and supplies, doing crafts and playing games at the inviting dining room table, cooking meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and listening to music in the cozy living room. We did not end up using the sauna (just didn’t have time), but are already planning a winter getaway to RG. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet getaway, surrounded by nature but still a short drive away from anything you need or want. Clearly, so much thought was put into anticipating the needs of their guests, and that makes Refugio Graziella a place you immediately feel comfortable. 🥰

I rented to spend time with my kids and grandkids. Very well set up for family enjoyment. Clean, well kept, and had many extras for all to enjoy.

Wonderful setting for a couple’s getaway. It beautifully combines rustic charm with modern comforts; updated appliances, a stylish bathroom, and cozy furnishings throughout. The beds were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to unwind, though the stairs to the bedrooms are steep and narrow, so keep that in mind. We loved soaking in the hot tub, playing board games, and cooking in the fully stocked kitchen. One of the highlights was renting kayaks from The Minnow Bucket, which delivered them right to us! We enjoyed paddling and fishing on Lake McGinnis and biking through the peaceful surrounding area.

The place was wonderful, clean, very cozy and private. We were there for a couple of days and it was truly relaxing. The house was well equipped with necessary supplies and it lacked nothing. We used the hot tub, fire pit and the cycles. All were in excellent condition. The hosts were very responsive and welcoming. Would definitely visit again.

A wonderful, relaxing stay! We visited for our annual girls trip and this property was everything and more! There was plenty of space for everyone, beautiful scenery and easy access to the river for kayaking. Meg was extremely responsive and helpful. We’d absolutely return for future stays.

Debra is an amazing host! She’s accommodating, respectful, responsive and very professional. Our stay was more than amazing. The house was perfect and everything that’s included with the home was more than satisfactory! We will definitely book with her again!

Everything about the house was above my expectations. Besides its beautiful decorations and design, the home was very clean and inviting. There were many conveniences such as extra towels and bedding, a large variety of cleaning supplies, a washer and dryer, several kitchen items, places to relax both inside and out, and air conditioners that were in different rooms so we could cool each space to our personal preference. I enjoyed the house so much, I honestly didn't want to go. It felt like a home for my family and I.

This is an amazing place to stay! The peace and quiet of the location and to feel as though you were in the middle of the woods was a welcome surprise! We were lucky to have discovered this place! Thank you!

My husband, two dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin! The point of my vacation was going somewhere we could take our dogs and this was the perfect spot to relax with them for a few days. Everything was clean and there was a perfect amount of space for us to relax. It was very quiet in the neighborhood and most of the time it felt like we were the only ones around. It was great to be able to walk to a very nice restaurant and bar a minute or two down from the cabin since we wanted to stay close. The only thing that bummed me out was we went at the end of May and the dock wasn’t put out - and I was hoping to spend time sitting out on the water. That could have been me not realizing the typical “season” but had assumed it’d be out so I recommend checking if that’s important to you :)

Our family of three plus two dogs had a great stay at Rebel's place! We loved that the cabin was set far back from the road, so our pups could safely explore the property. The setting is very serene and the only noises we heard were from the birds and frogs at the pond. The cabin itself was well stocked with everything we could need and the town of Hillsboro was just a short drive away. We would definitely return!

Super cute place, we loved it was away from the hustle of the tourist area , We felt like as guests we were treated as wanted and welcomed guests, fire pit ready and available and super cute game room , you do share the game room with guests from the other cabin, it just depends your openness to share your space with strangers , we bought pizza to come back in the game room but saw the other cabin guests and their kids were in there so we ate our pizza in our cabin, usually we are pretty social but just wanted adult time with wine and food. Our cabin was perfect for 3 people could’ve used one more chair in the kitchen maybe? We loved the woodsy vibe and decor. The towels were awesome, and futon so comfortable with a nice tv. My MIL came with and she is in her 90s the cabin was very assessable for her, may want to bring your own drinking water . Briggsville is super cute tiny town and the local coffee shop is beautiful and the coffee so good. Locals were friendly and helpful.

This place was absolutely stunning. The decorations, the property, everything about it was amazing. There was a trail where we could walk our pups and everyone there was so friendly! It was such a peaceful step away from our normal lives and it allowed us to be able to recharge and relax.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Barbara’s cabin! It was MAGICAL! The property was completely private and peaceful. The most private and peaceful property we have ever visited. The fact that it is located in an area with many Amish neighbors means that there is a peace and quiet as well as harmony in the countryside. We would sit out for our morning coffee on the porch swing and listen to the passing of the horses and carriages. We sat outside all day long every day soaking in the peaceful serenity and the glorious old woods that surrounded us. The best of which was the stunning huge old Oak Tree that graces the front yard. In the morning we would hear the birdsong and the wind in the trees. At nighttime it would grow quiet and last night I heard a Whip-Poor-Will for the first time in my life! Amazing! We bought organic fruit and vegetables at the nearby Amish roadside stand, Busy Bees. The cabin was comfy, cozy& amazingly clean! The windows were spotless! A gem!

The cabin was awesome and comfortable. The porch overlooking the hills was really relaxing and we spent most of our time there. The fire pit was terrific and we loved all the accessories (fire starter, grate for cooking). Perfect location too, just outside of Richland Center and a short drive to stores if needed. If you are in the area , I would definitely recommend staying at this cozy cabin! Jason

So, relaxing, cute, cozy, came home from fishing all day, was so nice just to relax on the couch with fireplace on. Way better than staying at a motel. So glad I treated myself to this place.

The stay was better than in the pictures. It is very spacious and peaceful there. It was perfect for my friend group and I. We will definitely be booking again in the future.

This location was absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back the moment we got there. We actually got to see a black bear and three Cubs right in the yard, but unfortunately we didn’t get to see them again after that there’s also a beautiful area to walk on a trail and see people climbing a rock very nearby! she was super responsive. The hot tub was gorgeous. We have a blow up hot tub ourselves and it works fantastic and it was very clean so is the bathroom. The heated seat toilet was a nice touch. we had anything we needed and the air-conditioning worked great!! I will say definitely don’t eat at the turtle restaurant bar in the area. Service was absolutely horrible. After waiting an hour and a half our food never came and they gave us drink chips which we will never use because why would anyone wanna go back?lol! but that had nothing to do with her. This place was fantastic and they were extremely accommodating. thank you again for a terrific day. We hope to be back soon.

Had an amazing stay in this very cozy Cabin. The hosts really take care of this cabin so it’s only right we do as well, even with frigid temperatures it still felt very warm inside. The hosts also work very diligent to keep everything running smooth. They were very responsive and flexible to help accommodate you. Thank you would visit again!

Warm and welcoming hosts - so nice to have a kind note, lights on, and chocolates and wine waiting for us (although we did not partake in the wine - but loved the intent behind it). Definitely hunting cabin vibes -- we are so jealous and wish we had this type of accommodation for when we go hunting. Another nice thing: we weren't asked to strip sheets, run the dishwasher, wash towels and take out the garbage like so many other Airbnbs (what's the point of the cleaning fee if the guest has to do half the work?). All that was asked was to put used towels in a pile on the floor - so appreciate that when we have to depart for an early morning flight. Thanks John and Kitty - if we are ever in the area in the future, we will be sure to book again.
