This is a beautiful little self contained bungalow located at the back of my house. You will have everything you need for a comfortable and unique stay in this (EXTREMELY!) light-filled space. All the windows are leadlight and the soaring window at the front (from a 100 year old church in the Hunter Valley) adds to the distinctive charm. You will have your own access. You can park in the driveway or on the street (unrestricted on weekends and after hours. Otherwise its a 2hr limit from 9am-5pm

Across from beaches, playground, cafes/restaurants and in short walking distance to Merewether baths, pubs, skatepark, tennis and wall-ball courts. Walk the Bather's Way into town or trail bike through Burwood National Park and Fernley track. The studio is suitable for a business client wanting a relax and/or fitness downtime or anyone after a comfortable relaxed holiday with an abundance of mostly free activities at your doorstep.

Hi, welcome to my beautifully renovated coastal style unit. Enjoy an easy stroll to Merewether Beach for a coffee at Blue Door, or a cocktail at the renowned Surfhouse. Lingard Hospital is within walking distance, as is a laundromat, post office, bottle shop and numerous cafes and bars. The unit sleeps 2 adults, and has the availability of a portacot. There is a small outdoor area and a parking space, so you can leave your car and walk to all that Merewether and Newcastle has to offer.

A lovely private space to relax and enjoy. This is the downstairs area of my home and is only used by guests. The living room is big and spacious, has a lovely sunny outlook in the morning, and has a picturesque view over Merewether to the ocean. The separate bedroom has a lovely comfortable queen bed with quality linen. The house is 5 mins (15 min walk) from Merewether beach and coffee shops, close to Glenrock lagoon and the Merewether ocean baths. Fantastic walking trails nearby.

Historic Merewether Cottage| Walk to beach & cafes

We landed at this cottage in quite a state. My father had been flown to Newcastle for emergency brain surgery, and I’d driven from south-west Victoria for two days. With the weight of the world on us, it was amazing to settle into such a peaceful, welcoming, and hassle-free place. I hope I get to experience this location and the cottage again in holiday mode. It’s in a superb location for the beaches, etc., but for us, it was how close it was to the private hospital, which made these challenging days much better for my dad’s wife, who isn’t as confident driving in larger towns. The cottage is perfectly as pictured and described. Very well thought out and simply easy and lush. Gabi and Jake are fantastic hosts! Thanks, Gabi, for being a total angel when we needed one to appear!

What a great apartment. We loved the view from the balcony, over the city and towards the Anzac Walk. The appartment is right on the walkway along the beach and has great access down the Merewether Baths one way and up and over Cooks Hill the other. The girls’ recommendations for local food and coffee were spot on. We could not fault the cleanliness and comfort of the whole apartment and the little touches, tea/coffee, condiments and milk were appreciated. Thank you for hosting us Carly and Katie. We will be back for sure!
