Chalet vacation rentals in Lake Michigan

What an absolute "gem" in the woods. We couldn't have asked for a better host. Jennifer was very receptive and periodically checked "to make sure" everything was okay. The house was in a secluded and quiet wooded neighborhood. There is something to be said about enjoying a hot cup of coffee sitting and the porch and taking in the sights and sounds of autumn and the smell of the fallen leaves. The dogs had a great time exploring the fenced in yard. I have a passion for cooking and found the kitchen supplied with an abundant supply of cooking utensils and pots and pans with a large kitchen table to sit down and enjoy those dishes. Quiet time in the evenings were spent watching movies in the family rooms. The house is centrally located and never more than an hour away from our daily adventures in various areas in the state. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would gladly stay here again.

Jennifer was great with communication from start to end. We had everything that we needed for our stay. Loved the fact that it was VERY dog friendly. Great water views and sunsets. Short drive to the heart of Door County, shops, wineries, and more.

We stayed at the Chalet the weekend of Cherry Festival and found the price to be VERY reasonable. We were a party of 8 and felt comfortable with the space and bed layouyt (2 couples and 4 kids). The decor was very tasteful and we noticed all the little touches such as bringing extra dish soap over, fresh flowers in multiple places, and delicious, fresh cookies! There is a basketball hoop and campfire. They have a wonderful deck out by the lake, perfect for parents to hang out while the kids swim. Next time, we'll make use of the grill down by the lake and make a meal down there as well! Plenty to do on the property alone! Becky was very helpful when we wanted information on Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and provided information on the area before we got there. Thanks for a WONDERFUL stay!

Carrie’s place was fantastic! Easily slept 12, easy to get to right off of a paved road.

there was plenty of room for seven people. the rooms were all big. there was enough stuff in the kitchen to use. the only thing I wish was a half bath upstairs people had to come down to use the bathrooms. but other than that it was great

beautiful home far from road. peaceful and spacious. very comfortable inside and out with large deck and fireplace for relaxing at night.

We had an amazing stay at this home in the woods. Brittany was extremely communicative ahead of our stay, and instructions for check and check out were very clear. The home was beautiful and extremely peaceful - a great place to unwind. Between the living room with the flood of natural light and the beautiful, fully furnished deck, and comfy rooms, it was a perfect stay. Brittany also shared a list of recommendations for things to do in the area which was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a relax and unwind moment!

We had a great time at the A-frame and Peggy was extremely helpful and responsive. Our two girls loved using the indoor pool-at times we had it all to ourselves! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We will have to come back when the weather is warmer and we can take full advantage of all the amenities.

Lovely updated home perfect for our family of 3. We had every thing we needed as well as incredible views of the sunrise and a 5 minute walk to the beach to view the sunset. Neighborhood is also very nice and quiet. Host was top notch, David was very responsive and provided excellent recommendations. Only criticism would be the cleanliness could have been better but David did reply quickly regarding our concerns to address it.

The Chalet provided our family with a peaceful, comfortable, and fun place to gather! The kitchen was well stocked with glasses, mugs, dishes, and cookware. Basic supplies were readily available. The deck, large dining table, and couches provided various places to relax and hangout. The beds were comfy. The guidebook was very helpful for restaurant and outing choices. The pool and hot tub at Lakeview Hotel is the preferred choice. We enjoyed Cellar 1914 and Torch Lake. Kara and Nate were welcoming and responsive via text. This was the most welcoming and thoughtfully furnished Airbnb in which we have stayed. Thank you for sharing The Chalet with us!

My family had to pivot at the last minute when our vacation home sprung a leak in the roof and into the home. We found this home available and had a response immediately from Susan. We actually like this place better than our own! The mid-century modern decor is amazing and cozy.. the home was extremely clean, the bedding was even cozy comfy. The kitchen had all the necessities and wow did we love the sauna especially after going snow tubing! The star of this place for us was the view out the dining room window to the beautiful Hills of Bellaire/Shanty Creek. Thank you Susan, we would definitely look you up again if in need in the future😊

The house was very clean and a cool layout. We loved the sauna, the fireplace and the were able to use the pool table. The house had everything we could have needed. It was the perfect cozy winter weekend getaway. Close by to the highlands if you will be doing activities at that resort. About 40 minute drive to Boyne Mountain. Very pretty and a quiet peaceful area. Would definitely love to stay here in the summer months next time. Would highly recommend for a family!

Lakewood is gorgeous and exclusive. It is 2 minute drive down a private road and then into a long driveway which finally reveals the gorgeous home. It is the perfect house for a couple or small family getaway to DC. Our 6 night stay in May was rainy and cold but this allowed us to spend time together enjoying the house. The TV is very small. If you want to watch a movie in the living room we recommend bringing your own projector. The house was really clean. The only downfall is that quite a few light bulbs were out and needed to be changed. Due to the height of the lights special equipment was needed so it didn’t happen while we were there. Also wobbly toilet seat in the master bath. For the cost of our stay I expected perfection. It came close but those 2 things would have made it perfect. I still highly recommend staying here. We enjoyed our stay.

This is a vacation rental like no other. The house is really unique and beautiful, and Marcus' attention to detail is impeccable. The house is walking distance from lots of cozy restaurants and shops and a short distance from hiking/walking trails and a beach on Lake Michigan. We were a group of 5 adults, so having three full bathrooms made a big difference. Never once did we feel crowded or on top of each other. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Brandy’s place was just what our family needed for time away. There was plenty of fun with 4 kayaks, a pedal boat, and fishing poles. The lake was quiet enough that sitting on the multi-tiered deck reminiscing about our childhood, brought moments of laughter and joy for me and my adult siblings. Brandy was very responsive and exceptionally easy to work with.

Diane’s place offered us exactly what we needed which was peace and serenity! The lake was beautiful and quiet yet close to lots of things to do! We enjoyed our stay! Thank you Diane!

This was the perfect place for my family of six adults and one dog. We loved having the four kayaks and it was easy to get into the water from the dock. We enjoyed fishing from the dock too. Our dog loved the beach access to the water. We went in the hot tub and soaked up the beautiful view. The kitchen table seats six and was exactly what we needed when we played games. We played a few games of ping pong and foosball in the garage. The outdoor shared pool, pickleball court, playground, and basketball court are only a 5 minute walk away. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioners kept the whole place cool. We loved this home on the lake.

The cabin itself was fantastic. Clean and accommodated our family of 6 including a pet well. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The cabin was cozy and had great finishes. We enjoyed the fire pit and provided firewood. It was a fantastic tough having a fire going when we arrived. A couple of things to consider that are not necessarily in the owners control but helpful: the water off the dock is extremely weedy and not conducive to swimming or bobber fishing for kids. We are a tad disappointed in that. The lawn area was quite mushy given the lake was high so was practically unusable this time of year. Fishing was also pretty rough but likely due to high water and time of year. Again, time of year and not due to anything the owners can control for all the above. We enjoyed the two kayaks, canoe and paddle boat provided. The grill was a little banged up but got the job done. Overall the owners have a very well kept, cozy cabin that is very charming

We unfortunately seen people complain about this place because of the spiders or the bees, little critters, etc… however it’s a chalet in the woods, cozy and comfy! Nice people all around and we really enjoyed the entertainment of the boats going up and down the channel. Will definitely come back and recommend to others. I had an excellent stay! This place is very nice. Close to the downtown area of Traverse City, but yet secluded and private. The place was very clean and made me feel right at home. I would stay here again for sure! Very close to the lake!

Great home very warm and comfy, we had a blast

Came down for a friends wedding and. The place was great clean and easy to check in. Host was quick to communicate and even offered a complimentary late checkout for us which was very nice after the late night festivities.
