We took a short weekend trip north with our dog to enjoy the peak fall colors. Our stay at Bill's was great, and we appreciated it being pet friendly! His place was as described, very peaceful location with his horses and chickens as well as lots of visits from local wildlife. Bill was very accommodating and gave us lots of recommendations on things to do. His barn is very cool! There were nice trails within a short walking distance, just behind his property, and he's also only a few minutes outside of town. Short's Brewery is right in town. We did some day hikes around the area and around Old Mission Bay along the water as well. This would be a fun spot to return to . Thanks again Bill!

Tom and Kitty were excellent! The island is gorgeous and the beach area is perfect. The water does not get too deep which was wonderful for the kids and my sanity. Perfect spot for a family getaway! They allowed us to use their kayaks, canoe and swimming platform. Tom also put out children at play signs which was such a thoughtful touch. All together an unforgettable family experience. Just lovely!

Very beautiful location and a very short drive from downtown Charlevoix. It took a few minutes of walking to get from Cabin 1 to the main cabin where we could charge our devices and use the bathroom, which we didn't mind too much since it was a short stay. If you'd enjoy a camping-like experience with a comfy bed and no bugs, this is a great place to stay! Carl was also super helpful and responsive :)

A nice private place to call your own. I stayed a week and was gone most of the days but it was nice to come home to. The washer & dryer were a nice touch so I didn’t take a suitcase full of dirty clothes home. Easy location to jump on the freeway and see the sights. Thanks Glen

Such a lovely place! Well maintained trails to explore. The instructions to get in and out were super clear + easy to follow. Although they live right next door, we truly felt like we had the place to ourselves. Everything you could need was provided. Close to town, but feels like a country getaway! Hope to return again and again while visiting family in the area.

Three of us friends spent an idyllic 2 nights here. We absolutely loved the screened in gazebo where we had coffee in the mornings and peaceful afternoons and evenings. One of the highlights of the trip was helping Brett with the livestock in the morning. He was so friendly and informative! We ordered eggs, bacon, and brats which we enjoyed while we stayed. The grounds were beautiful and we loved the fire pit. We enjoyed the books and the binoculars! We would love to come again in the winter to try out the beautiful looking sauna. Molly was super friendly and helpful. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Thank you for the wonderful stay. I loved watching the deer, rabbits and birds in the back yard. The location made it easy to get around town. Only negative was the loud road noise from the highway out front but I knew that when I booked it the location. This is a wonderful house with wonderful owners. My sister’s family rented a house more in town and it was not in a nice location. She definitely wished she had rented this place instead. I loved all the kitchen supplies and toiletries in the bathroom. We look forward to renting this place again.

Kristen's place was awesome! Just as she described and all the little personal touches were great. The property is beautiful and peaceful. The deer, turkeys, goats and puppies were all a bonus. Kristen is a wonderful host, so nice and made us feel very welcomed. Will definitely be returning!

From the hustle and bustle of CA to peace, quiet & lightning bugs - our stay was just what we needed. We came in late one evening and my daughter exclaimed “look at all the stars!” The place is not far from “all the things”, but far enough away from traffic and noise. The apartment is quite spacious and has everything you need - even fresh eggs and veggies if they’re in season! The hosts are friendly and accommodating. We’d definitely consider this lovely place again for our next visit!

The house is really a neat place. Much larger in person with extra nooks, etc. We had more than enough room for two people and a small dog. Cool retro decor, like in a farmhouse. We really loved the back enclosed porch & fenced yard, esp. early evenings as the sun went down. Loki, our little Dandie Dinmont Terrier loved running around in the grass. But there is a nice walkway there and a fire pit, as well [if you want to use it]. The bathroom was very well stocked, as was the kitchen. We were out an about most of the days in Holland & surrounding areas, so we did not cook much. Especially as we found Biggby Coffee in Dorr [11 min]! Must try a breakfast bragel, if you have not. We did not meet Valerie, but I think we met Diane [who I believe was staying upstairs, though we hardly knew she was there]. We got to talking about Loki's competitions in scentwork and she was very nice. Easy checkout also. One last pointer: check out New Salem Country Store. Very nice lady works there.

It was great. Aarron was very friendly. We loved the place. Was decorated as rustic, a lot of ground to walk, and perfect parking. Our lil dog loved it too. Was close to shopping and eats. Plenty big enough for 2 people. Would definitely stay there again

Really cute place! It had everything we needed while traveling with an 8 month old. The host is thoughtful and communicated quickly and proactively.

The place is absolutely beautiful and it was great for our work getaway. The only issue we ran into during our stay was water. We woke up on the 2nd day of our stay and had absolutely no water. After messaging Adam we were informed that the well water runs on a pump that takes time to refill. We had to come up with a shower schedule and managed to make it work for the rest of our trip, and to do dishes. The upper level of the tower worked great for our classes and there was lots of room in the property for all sorts of activities.

Our family vacation was extra special in this peaceful setting. We enjoyed bonfires, grilled food, and wildlife as well as fun games and a great indoor pool. It was a perfect size for our family of 5. Linda is a great host - friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend booking her place. Fabulous house on Long Lake. Such a wonderful location on the peninsula. So peaceful and just beautiful. The house was great for us. We felt very much at home. But most of all, Beth & Keegan were amazing. So helpful and responsive! Nothing was too much trouble. If only all hosts could be like this!! Highly, highly recommend!!

The Apple House was a wonderful cozy stay in a beautiful secluded wooded setting. My 13 year old daughter, mobility challenged mother, and I came for a special girls weekend and we are so happy we chose Kathleen's house. It was so cozy and perfectly equipped and accommodating. Kathleen had everything we could need to make the stay comfortable. The beds were all so cozy, it was nice and quiet and we slept in each morning and then made coffee and breakfast before going on our adventures for the day. It is close to Petoskey and Mackinac City for day trips. In the evenings we came back and popped popcorn, watched movies, and played games. Wonderful memories were made, thank you Kathleen!

Incredible stay at the Flying Diamond Ranch - When planning for a big trip, this listing stood out for all the unique qualities shown for a reasonable cost. The location is private and very spacious. A notable kitchen and outdoor fireplace make for terrific group dinners or morning breakfasts. We took the ranch tour on the second day and had a wonderful time feeding the cows and listening to the history of the land. Stores and beaches are never further than 20 minutes - we couldn't recommend this place enough!

The barn home was beautifully preserved and was decorated perfectly. It accommodated our group well. We would definitely stay again or recommend the home to others.

Home away from home! We needed a place to stay that wasn't too far from our house as we are remodeling and The August Hill Farm was perfect! They really thought of everything and they provide lots of amenities, the home was clean and has a very cozy feeling! Would recommend to anyone!
