"Hidden Land ~ Kamihara Seiryu" "Grandmountain Park, Gemeinde, Gemeinde, Japan", a separate building, a mineral spring, a large public bath, breakfast included

Taiji-San is an awesome host! He is super friendly and communicates well in English, and makes us feel at home right away. It’s a traditional Japanese house and we get the experience of living in a traditional Japanese house, sleeping in futons on tatami floor. The futons are very comfortable and I don’t wake up having any back aches. The highlight of the stay has to be the incredible dinner that Taiji-San whipped up for us! It’s a 10-course Kaiseki dinner prepared by Taiji-San himself who is a trained French Chef. The stay also came with traditional Japanese breakfast. Highly recommended. The weather was rainy and cold but we didn’t have to worry as the air-conditioner is able to provide heating. There’s is not much to explore on foot, but it is a really good stay if you drive and plan to explore Aso. Will definitely come back again if we are visiting Aso!

Japanese-style room with garden

The room I stayed in was a beautiful Japanese-style room with a view of the garden from the hallway. The host, Kasumi, was very kind, recommending a shop for dinner and taking us to a hot spring in the morning.I was also grateful for the pick-up and drop-off from Mr. Hiromu at night. My dog Momo-chan is cute, and I want to come back soon😊

We were in Nishihara with three children for five days and we enjoyed it very much despite the rainy season. The accommodation is spacious and has a nice bathroom. Without a rental car, it would have been very challenging to implement our activities. + Plenty of space + nice bathroom + Very friendly and helpful landlords + Quiet location - Beautiful wooden floor and tatami is covered/protected with a carpet.

Samurai Residence in Obi: 'Kyushu's Little Kyoto'

There is no place like this around, it is so special. There is the history of the house as relates to the surrounding castle town, and its amazing renovation to comfortable modern standards. The furniture and decor is so well matched with the space, and the surrounding garden is a delight. The bath was so relaxing, and all the included amenities (beer on tap, pajamas, toiletries, wonderful soaps/shampoo/conditioner) were true luxury. It exceeded my expectations! You can walk to all the historic and cultural sites as well as wonderful restaurants, including one in a very special house with a beautiful garden and view, set menu with 10 delicious dishes impeccably presented. I would love to come again and spend more time!

I was in Japan for three weeks, and this was my favourite place that I’ve stayed. The farm is a very beautiful and calming place to stay with a lovely garden. There is a fireplace with a mountain view, where we had a really really good dinner and breakfast made for us by the owner. The owner is the kindest man who really took the time to cook for us and get to know us. I couldn’t recommend this place more!!

The house is very clean, spacious, cozy, and perfect for relaxing. There are no stores nearby, but the hosts were very thoughtful in preparing breakfast and drinks for us, which we really appreciated. Everything we needed was provided and we really appreciated the attention to detail and hospitality. Thank you so much for your warm welcome.
