[Kawachin House] Come and play with the feeling of visiting your relatives' house!

JamesRating, 5 stars66 months ago
A lovely place about 20 minutes drive from Saiki. Highlights were: incredible sashimi (saiki is known for its fish); local onsens (one of them over looking the sea with salt water); hiking in the surroundings and on the nearby island. I would recommend coming with a car as the bus service is fairly infrequent. However the family very kindly took time to drive us around to the places we wanted to visit. Highly recommend!

Its the place that you felt right at home and relaxed, we had a car so we did activities in the afternoon but the evening together with other guests and the host is our highlight during the stay. So many laughs and stories was shared during evening bbq and evening time, thank you jiro and chai for having us and for making our trip in south japan more memorable

The host she was so sweet and kind and caring. I was traveling alone and she gave me clear instruction on how to get around via bus and train. She picked me up from the bus station bc I didn’t have a car. She helped me Call a taxi. She was worried about me bc I was by myself. Her house was beautiful and in such a peaceful area. Seeing the horses was a cool experience. There is also an ostrich farm and a rice terrace within minute walking distance. Highly recommends. Thank you so much! :)

It’s a very cosy beautiful home and it’s surrounding. Totally feel relax and breathing in the freshest air. Despite the chilling cold night, me and my wife are overwhelmed by the our host, to show us the moon using his modified telescope. What an experience for us, it’s totally pleasant bonus I would say. That made our night there so memorable. Thanks for the lovely breakfast too and the coffee.

Wagyu and rice farmer <free pickup and drop-off>

MakiRating, 5 stars65 months ago
Our homestay at Takachiho has been the best so far! Tomoko is the most thoughtful host we ever met, with her fluent english, she explained to us the traditional japanese culture, history and also recommend us to places only the locals know! Before bed, her kids even performed some cute ninja dance for us! So adorable! Before saying good bye, she even sang us hubby's fav song coz she overheard our alarm ringtone. Haha. Oh nearly forgot to mention, Tomoko family is Wagyu breeder & farmer. So u are free to feed the Wagyu anytime!

Hikoboshi,Japanese-style room with star view

AyakaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
I stayed for 2 days and 1 night during a business trip, but it was a valuable time that made me want to stay again for about a week with friends and family. From the welcome, they were very polite, and we talked over drinks and snacks in the evening, and took a walk along the river together in the morning, and they welcomed us like we were a member of the family. My mom's Japanese cuisine was also carefully prepared one by one, and I felt very warm. Thank you, Miyazaki's mom and dad!

Such a friendly and homely stay. Hitomi was incredibly helpful and recommended a visit to a local pottery (with the longest climbing kiln) where you can do a pottery experience course with a great English speaking teacher. the breakfast are delicious and healthy and the guest house is like a home from home. I highly recommend. If you arrive by train and take a taxi, I advise writing down the address in japanese as the taxi driver may not use Googlemaps or speak English. Hitomi was really helpful in sorting out the confusion I had with my taxi driver!

Megumi was truly one of the best hosts I’ve ever had. She genuinely cares about her guests and goes above and beyond to make sure they feel at home. On our last day, she kindly offered to drive us to the train station in the pouring rain and even surprised us with a homemade cake. Her home is beautiful, and she is a kind, thoughtful person. She gave us great local recommendations and generously let us borrow her bikes to explore the area. Her breakfasts were absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. If you’re looking for a place to stay, I highly recommend choosing Megumi’s home.

(Mixed Dorm) A cozy hostel close to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and Futsukaichi Onsen!

민수Rating, 5 stars17 months ago
It was really retro and cozy, and most of all, Siko Sang, the host, welcomed us with the kindness and gentleness of a grandfather. Since it was a guesthouse made by renovating Siko Sang's grandmother's house, the feeling was quite different from other guesthouses. There are a little over 10 beds and 5 bedrooms (there is also an annex). Honestly, I don't need to say anything else. If you like to get along with people, I definitely recommend it. There's a review that says he's a pervert, but he's not a real pervert, and he calls himself a pervert jokingly. (He never sexually harasses anyone.) Thanks to him, I was able to make friends with people of various nationalities, regardless of gender or age, and each of these things was so good that I believe it will be a big stepping stone in the future. I hope you book it!!!
