We had the most wonderful stay at this gorgeous "private desert" retreat! From start to finish, everything was flawless. Privacy: The place felt like our own secluded desert oasis—totally peaceful and surrounded by stunning views. Perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Impeccably Clean: The space was spotless, with fresh linens, a sparkling bathroom, and a well-kept kitchen. It’s clear the hosts take great care in maintaining the property. Easy Communication: The host was incredibly responsive, friendly, and helpful. Check-in was a breeze, and they provided great local recommendations. Overall Experience: Cozy, stylish, and thoughtfully designed—we couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. We’ll definitely be back! We loved our stay! There was plenty of activities to do at the house and the pool and hot tub were fantastic. The location is in great proximity to Joshua Tree and close enough to town to make a quick run for something but far enough out to be relaxing and peaceful. Our host was super friendly and very responsive.

Such a cool spot to stay in: you can’t be bored! The wind killed some of our activities though, but we still had a great time hanging out inside. Hosts are so incredibly friendly and amazing!!

Amazing views and peaceful home but still close to any activity, retail or dining. Very clean & comfortable home with many seating options for privacy or small group conversations. The spa and pool were very clean and heating the spa was a quick and easy process. Ryan was very responsive and pleasant during the entire process and would not hesitate to book this home again.

This is one of the best airbnbs I’ve ever had! Super warm and cozy interior! I like everything in the house! The beds are wonderful, soft and supportive! The location is private with unpaved road. Close to Joshua Tree national Park!

We enjoyed our time at The Home Sweet Homesteader so much that we extended our stay! Michael and Jenna are awesome hosts and very responsive and kind. The house is thoughtfully decorated, cozy, and clean. The patio is amazing- a fireplace and outdoor tub with a magical view for sunrise and sunset. The location is private yet convenient to Pioneertown, Integratron, Joshua Tree, and Twentynine Palms. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Simon’s place was clean and beautiful and just as described! We sat outside and watched as the sunset and we enjoyed the most incredible starry night. I was so fortunate to book this place! Make sure your car can handle dirt roads and definitely don’t go down George Road because of soft sand. Also, my maps didn’t show Judy road so you’ll just have to keep an eye out. Other than that, there were plenty of towels, everything worked, they had shower essentials and everything was pristine, wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Ethan’s place was a great spot to rest our heads while visiting Joshua tree. The home was just as described and very clean. We appreciated the privacy of the location. The kids loved all the Jack rabbit sightings. Definitely get outside at night, the stars were beautiful!

Better than the pictures! Everything was perfectly clean and organized with all the necessities provided. You can’t beat being able to relax in the hot tub while looking up at the stars.

Me and my fiancée spent our 8 year anniversary here and we had such a good time. It was a little vacation that felt like home away from home. Our host was so communicative and responded our messages so friendly and quickly. Our favorite part was the hammock under the stars.

This is the 3rd time we have rented this nice house for our music club canping and jamming weekends 7 minutes away. We always enjoy the many nice touches added to this comfortable home.

Such a cute, well-appointed place. The outdoor shower is stellar! I'd just say it's very light and bright; so maybe bring a sleep mask, especially if you're on the living room sofa bed!

The holiday house is the perfect remote getaway. You'll find everything you need to make an amazing meal in the kitchen. You can get lost in the beautiful art all around the gardens and inside the house. The 360° views of the landscape are absolutely breathtaking and the night sky is otherworldly. This is by far my favorite stay out in the high desert.

Starlight Mesa Hotel was amazing. Erik's description was picture perfect. The setting is private and peaceful with many great restaurants and shops only a short drive away. The house was equipped with everything needed for a great getaway; the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The livingroom was inviting with a fireplace and wood to burn. He also provided books, games, and a record player with a great selection of tunes. If you need a place to stay while attending a venue in the area, or just looking for a relaxing getaway I totally recommend the Starlight Mesa Hotel.

Gorgeous place, will be back. WiFi is pretty slow, but minor complaint.

I’ve stayed a bunch of different places in the area, and this is definitely my favorite so far! Clean, easy, felt safe, etc. I stop just for the night on long drives (I arrive at night and leave early morning), so I can’t speak to cooking in the kitchen, using the tv projector, etc., but the shower was hot, and the enclosed yard is perfect for a dog. Thanks, and I’ll be back!

We had a wonderful stay here! The place was beautiful and we esp loved relaxing in the hammocks and chilling in the jacuzzi under the stars. Host was fantastic — super nice, proactive, and easy to communicate with. The handbook with local recs was really helpful and made exploring the area so much easier and more fun. As expected for a desert location, there were some bugs and the water pressure was a bit low, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. Truly an amazing place with amazing hosts. Would absolutely come back!
