We absolutely loved our time here and only wish we could have stayed longer. The setting is incredibly peaceful, with breathtaking views in every direction—perfect for relaxing and taking in the beauty of Iceland’s countryside. One of the highlights was getting to visit with the adorable sheep and their lambs, as well as the playful goats and their kids. It was such a joy to watch them and learn about life on the farm. The hosts were so welcoming and made us feel right at home, giving us the freedom to explore and enjoy the surroundings. In the evenings, we loved cozying up in the comfortable house and gazing out at the vast, quiet landscape. It truly felt like a retreat from the world. If you’re looking for an authentic Icelandic countryside experience with kind hosts, incredible animals, and stunning views, this is the place! Highly recommend staying more than one night—you won’t want to leave.

The cottage is really warm and cute, decorated with the drawings from people around the world. The view from the window is great, nearby a lovely creek. The cottage is fully equipped with all you need for cooking. The bathroom is clean and neat. The bed is comfortable. There was a storm the day we arrived. Ellen contacted us the day before to remind us of the bad weather and told us to check the road conditions on app. We really appreciated it! Ellen’s daughter greeted us in person when we arrived and showed us around the entire cottage. I also petted the horses they raised, which is a unique experience for me. Hope next time I can stay for a longer time if I visit Iceland again in the future. Really would like to recommend Ellen’s cottage to travelers in Iceland!

This was tranquil escape in the beautiful country of Iceland. Right next to the cottage is a peaceful waterfall along with a river on the other side. We woke up in the morning to a greeting from local sheep. A wonderful experience!

The most wonderful cozy place! Absolutely beautiful surroundings, very private feel and the backyard and view was wonderful! The cottage was super clean, cozy, warm, adorable and it had every possible thing you could need! Stove, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee maker.... so much more. On the patio is also a grill, and seating with a heating lamp so you can enjoy sitting outside even if it's chilly. Everything feels very home-y and decorated adorably, fun books around, some games and a TV. Even had little custom chocolates waiting for us inside on the table! It has just everything you need and you won't want to leave❤️ Location is wonderful and peaceful. Hosts were very nice, and came and greeted us by our arrival, obviously very attentive and it shows as everything around the cottage is really neat and well kept. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back sometime☺️
