Tent vacation rentals in East Sussex

We had a great trip here with friends - the safari tent was exactly as described and perfect for what we wanted! Liz was a great host, responsive if we needed anything but equally left us to our own privacy. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings but not too far from local amenities and village life! Would definitely recommend!

Myself and 16 other University students stayed at the campsite for 2 nights and can definitely say we all had an incredible time. Tony was absolutely brilliant, communicating very well prior to booking, the days leading up to the trip and during our stay. He helped us with directions, local takeaways (which was extremely helpful for our large group) and was very easy to contact if we had any issues throughout our stay. The campsite was spotless when we arrived, all toilets and shower facilities were in good clean and working order. Would highly recommend booking this campsite for a peaceful, countryside getaway.

tony was very helpful indeed and made sure we had a good time! it's practical...plenty of fridges and BBQ space as well as room to play cricket. the only downside is that the site isn't totally secluded as there's another house nearby. overall we had a great time.

Very nice place on the heel, plenty parking area. Even in the wild she arranged for eco-friendly toilets and washing sink, shower booth. I thought we are alone but on the field are other 3-4 tents.

We absolutely loved our stay at Idle Hours! Charlotte was super helpful, providing recommendations in the local area and even securing us a booking at the vineyard next door when it was fully booked- honestly she couldn’t have done more. We loved Julie (her mum) and we felt right at home, she even made us a cup of tea in the morning as we arrived a little under prepared! Easy to walk from the train station and great facilities onsite - will recommend to friends and can’t wait to visit again soon!

Thanks for a great stay - the hosts were very communicative and helpful, and the spaces have been very thoughtfully designed and laid out. Brilliant to hear the chorus of birdsong in the morning too!

Perfect summer weekend camping! The countryside views are beautiful and a treat to have hot water and shower facilities that were just for us! We enjoyed walking to the local pub and boating station in Newenden during our stay plus visited Rye/Camber Sands beach which was only a 15 minute drive. Alex and his lovely dachshund popped by to say hello briefly and to check we had all we needed. As per the listing their house and garden are on the perimeter of the field but we felt like we had total privacy and loved having the field completely to ourselves. Will definitely come back!

We both had a fantastic stay at Oastbrook! The setting was beautiful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The tent was comfortable and thoughtfully set up, everything you need for a cozy night in! Nick was an exceptional host, super responsive and helpful, which made everything even smoother. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a unique and memorable experience!

Wonderful couple of days relaxing and getting back to nature. Kids adored the red yurt and all its treasures and the parents loved the spa! Look forward to coming back for foraging.

I love love loved it here! honestly, I have no complaints at all. Everything surpassed my expectations. The quality of the little things, towels, linens, wool blankets to having everything, absolutely everything we needed add in the most beautiful location, a hot tub and great friends and I truly didn't want to leave. I'm over the moon I've found this place and without doubt will be coming back . A proper gem of a place, you really won't be disappointed. it's impossible!

John is a brilliant host very friendly and welcoming. it was such a pleasure to stay. it’s a lovely place with beautiful surroundings. perfect place to get away from it all and have a break. everyone was lovely, and the price was great - saved me an absolute fortune over the bank holiday when everywhere else was a rip-off! I really enjoyed the laid- back and fun atmosphere at Johns, and it was a great pleasure meeting everyone. I have to give all the other housemates a mention as well - they were all brilliant hosts - so thank you to everyone for making it a memorable experience! X 😊❤️🌈🌤️

I had the most amazing time here. We stayed in the Russet Retreat which was so secluded and peaceful. Would love to come back yearly as it offers complete privacy and there is so much to explore.

We loved our little getaway to the tents. It’s such a beautiful place in the orchard. The tent is comfortable and bigger than I thought. The outdoor shower is great, very hot and easy to use. I loved all the sheep with their lambs everywhere. We had the Friday dinner and 2 breakfasts at Stubbs cafe, all the food was great. The pancakes and coffee were excellent but the food we had at the dinner on Friday was really good, top quality meal at a very reasonable price. They only do it on Fridays at the moment so if you are staying on a Friday I’d suggest booking a table. The service was great at the restaurant too, everyone was lovely. Phillip was so helpful and lovely too. The other tents are far enough away that we barely even noticed them. It was like we had the orchard to ourselves. We really wanted to disconnect and relax and that’s exactly what we got. We will be back!

What a little haven, just what we needed for our 2 year old daughters first night under the stars, and dingo the pony and olive the goat where the cherry’s on the cake. Thanks for a great stay, hope to come back to dogwood.

Melissa was a great host very communicative, check in and finding the location was very straight forward. Camp site was gorgeous in a stunning location nestled in the heart of the South Downs national park. Highly recommended.
