Farmstay vacation rentals in Derbyshire Dales District

I stayed here with my husband and 2 young children on a visit to Holmfirth to see my best friend. Simon was so helpful and went above and beyond for our stay. He ensured everything was set up for us including an extra bed for the children, fresh bread on the side, and milk in the fridge. Also loved the fresh coffee available. Our kids loved running circles around the the flat and Simon even made a point to say to not worry about the kids running around as his children even loved doing that when they were young. So it was very nice to be in a family friendly place. Even the fresh tulips on the table made us smile. Thank you Simon for a lovely stay!

A wonderful stay even better than expected! Such a lovely place in a beautiful setting the perfect countryside escape. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the Annex had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. My two children absolutely loved it and are now dreaming of living on a farm! The thoughtful touches like cereal, milk, and coffee waiting for us on arrival really made it feel like a home away from home. Looking forward to returning soon if this little gem is still available!

Fernyford Barn is the perfect base for a holiday in the Peak District. There are so many things to do and places to visit just a short drive away. The barn is very comfortable, nicely decorated and perfect for families. We loved stocking up on food from the local shops and meat from the farm itself and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. Neil and his family were friendly and welcoming hosts and our little ones loved meeting the sheep and exploring the farm. We’d love to return.

We had a wonderful stay at Paula’s cottage! Paula was a lovely host and we felt like it was home from home. Great pubs nearby and lovely walks from the village. Thank you for being so lovely! We would love to visit again soon.

Linda and Keith were amazing hosts and have created such a lovely Airbnb space in a superbly located Peak District spot! The barn was exactly as we had expected from the pictures and listing, with complementary gifts awaiting our arrival. They are also a lovely and responsive couple and were a pleasure to communicate with. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning.

We had a lovely stay at Ed and Charlottes, the perfect spot to explore from. The cottage was spotless and exactly as listed with lovely scenery and stocked with the essentials for our stay we were even treated to a delicious bowl of fresh strawberries on our final morning. The place was easy to find and the prearrival instructions easy to follow and had really helpful information on local taxis and places to eat nearby perfect for our stay. You can walk straight out onto the moors from the cottage, surrounded by lovely views. Debbie welcomed us on arrival, friendly and helpful, responded very promptly. The cottage is cosy and comfortable with everything we needed for our weekend stay.

We had a great stay in Brosterfield Cottage! The place is beautiful and perfect for heading out for walks and exploring the local area. We brought our dog and the Airbnb is well located with walks literally from the front door. We had a great meal in The Bulls Head and special mention goes to Curry Cottage - best curry we’ve had in a while and delivered to the door! Thank you Penny:

Annette, Alex & Skye were fantastic Airbnb hosts. Welcoming and friendly but also conscious of ensuring you have your own privacy. A huge bonus was that the parish has an enclosed park space only a short few mins walk away which is perfect for your pet to explore and burn off some energy. A short walk to Pipstrells Cafe for a lovely morning coffee/cake and 7 minute drive to The Black Lion in Butterton for a tasty meal. Lots of walks on the doorstep as well as a lovely private patio area to ensure you relax and enjoy the scenery. Would highly recommend The Cosy Stable! We would love to return in the near future.

Had a lovely stay for a couple of days here. The place was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! Hot tub was great and Prosecco in the fridge on arrival was really lovely! Jo provided us with all the information we needed and we were able to locate the place easily, and the local area was really lovely too. Thank you Jo!

Tilly Lodge is a little piece of heaven. From the music upon your arrival, to the beautiful views and nature. It was better than expected and with so much to do in the vicinity, even my dog Peanut was entertained. This place exceeded my expectations and it is rare to find.

What a fantastic place to stay. Stunning views, peace and quiet, everything we needed in a perfect little getaway for two! We loved this little shepherd hut. Would definitely consider coming back here in future!

Great place was exactly what we wanted and as described, with great views of the countryside. Elizabeth was a great host and messaged with all necessary information and a guide to local places to visit and amenities nearby. Overall, was a really good weekend!

We stayed here for 3 nights for my wifes birthday and our 9 month daughter first holiday and it was perfect. The hot tub made the difference with our early evenings in. Short drive to local places. Accommodation has horses and cows that come say hello in the late afternoon. Only downside is the signal wasn't great for the TV. But once turned off and on again seemed to spring into life. Would recommended staying here and would happily stay again.

Wonderful atmospheric location. Secluded and private setting. You really felt in another world every time you looked out of any window across the landscape... The barn was very clean and restored in a modern yet sympathetic way. Had last little item and touch you needed. Very homely and cosy, yet imposing with it's castle like thick walls... Old and modern blended together in a charming way... The piano was a perfect touch to fit the landscapes stretching into the distance across the moorland. Such varied wildlife to see and hear too. Hosts were friendly and helpful too. So thank you!

Really cosy place to stay! The instructions were clear for getting to the property. Perfect location as it’s only 5 mins from Matlock. We would love to come back 🥰

Francesca's place totally exceeded our expectations! It is located halfway up the hill which ensured great views from the bedroom window. Surrounded by cute farm animals as well as a beautiful, well-tended garden. The interior was even better than the photos -- the accommodation not only had all the amenities and appliances we could have needed, but Francesca added a personal touch by curating a sampler of local bread, butter, honey, eggs, etc. We cannot recommend this place enough -- a perfect place to come home to after long days of exploring and hiking. We also had the chance of meeting Jocelyn who was extremely kind and personable. Cannot wait to return!

This was the perfect stop-off on our way up to the lakes, and was so lovely it felt like a mini holiday in itself! We felt right at home in the beautiful, relaxing annexe with the welcoming lounge, fully-equipped kitchen and very comfy bed. The breakfast was wonderful with home-made bread, and gluten free bread/granola to cater to my allergies. So kind - thank you so much!

Wonderful weekend stay at the Loft , 3 friends and 2 children . The arrival was a lovely warm welcome from Anita . Anita gave us a tour of the property and explained the pool use and hot tub to us . Both of which were a great facility and hit with adults and children alike . The property comfortably slept 5 of us . We all loved the large lounge in the middle of the upper floor . Super comfy sofa and range of Netflix , sky and DVD’s if required . We walked the footpath across fields into Butterton which was a nice walk . We found the Black Lion pub and booked Sunday dinner . It seems very popular and the roast lamb didn’t disappoint . We enjoyed our weekend stay that we have booked for next year . Highly recommend staying here , perfect for friends or larger families as there is actually another rental cottage - we don’t use . Anita and her family and dogs are very welcoming and gave us lots of local things to do advice . Short drive to many Peak District attractions to . Perfect 🤩

Just had 2 really chilled out days at swallow barn it’s so peaceful and the views are amazing, the barn makes you feel right at home Pru and Chris are the most friendliest people you could meet we’ll definitely be back , many thanks Craig Liz and Alfie the dog

Had a wonderful stay! Paul and his wife were friendly, welcoming, and the house was beautiful, clean, well equipped, and super comfortable. There was lots to do nearby, as well as lovely peaceful nature walks. I'm still getting through all the delicious local eggs, honey, and other foods I brought home!

As three friends getting together for a weekend of walking in the Peak District it was absolutely perfect! The cottage and location were idyllic. Mornings sat outside eating breakfast watching the chickens! More than enough space inside the cottage to accommodate us. It really had everything we needed.

Me and my mum had a wonderful stay here. The village is beautiful, and well equipped with pubs! We had a delicious dinner at the Farmyard Inn which was a 10/15 minute walk from the house, there is a pub less than 5 minutes walk away however. It is only a 10 minute drive into Bakewell down some very scenic country lanes. The room itself was super cosy, we had everything we needed, including a smart TV so we could binge watch Charmed in the evening. We were welcomed in person, Phil and Diane are both super friendly and helpful, Ben their dog, is absolutely gorgeous and loved a fuss. There was homemade sourdough bread on the side when we checked in, along with freshly picked strawberries from their garden, drinks, butter, the list goes on, we felt very cared for and appreciated it greatly. We didn't use the sauna but it looked brilliant. Overall we would definitely stay here again, it was so peaceful.
