Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Athens

This cottage and our hosts were so wonderful I'm afraid I'll forget to name them all! The setting is GORGEOUS. So private and magical. Every room is charming. The house offers a lot of privacy if you're there with a group. Beds and linens are new and luxurious. I have NEVER been in a cleaner place. Nobody missed a spot when they cleaned before our stay! Kayla was delightful--always responsive, friendly, and accommodating. I had such a good feeling about her. I suggest guests take advice about getting up the driveway seriously, especially if it's wet or icy. It was muddy and I got up just fine in my Subaru Forester and my friend got up without all-wheel drive. The place IS within reasonable distance of all the delights of Athens, but once we saw how delicious it was to be on the property, we just stayed put--we didn't want to leave.

Spacious house! Lots of seating in living room. Well-equipped kitchen. Large deck with grill. Remote location, less than 15 minutes into town. Less than 5 minutes to walking trails around the lake. Greatly enjoyed our stay!

We had a great time and would def return trip there!

My brothers and I were in the area over Memorial weekend on our motorcycles to ride The Windy Nine motorcycle roads. This location was perfect, just outside of Athens but not too far. Quaint little cabin in the woods the also offered cover for our bikes to keep them from collecting morning dew. This small cottage offered everything we needed but bot too fancy. The only caution is finding the driveway on the initial arrival can be a bit tricky especially on motorcycles as the winding road that leads to the cottage is not too U-turn friendly for motorcycles. Overall, awesome place and we will be back!

My partner and I had a lovely time—we really enjoyed the space! It was so nice to get away and just focus on enjoying each other’s company. The whole experience was wonderful, and I especially loved the cozy cabin feel. Chad was incredibly helpful and very friendly, which made everything even better. Just a couple of small things to note: the toilet is a compost toilet, which took a minute to get used to—not a bad thing at all, just different. Also, the freezer was stocked with frozen meat, and we had brought our own frozen meals without checking first. It didn’t leave us much room to put stuff in there but It wasn’t a big deal though—we just ate ours frozen stuff first. All in all, I’ll 100% be back and absolutely recommend this place!

Brookside cottage was a magical experience in terms of its location. The creek the water running the woods. It’s just spectacular. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was clean. You had everything that you needed. Location was quite peaceful. It was everything that we wanted. I spent a mom’s weekend there with my daughter from Ohio University, and we also enjoyed the hot tub despite the rain.

This worked out perfectly for our group of three! The home was a comfortable, clean, peaceful place to relax between explorations of the local area, particularly the nearby town of Logan and trails in the Hocking Hills area. The spacious backyard was especially welcoming, with the neighboring animals (goats, ponies, horses, etc.) and mowed pathways among the trees that made for a lovely stroll before settling down for evening s'mores at the fire pit. Caleb clearly cares about his guests, and was an active communicator making sure we had everything we needed!

We had a fantastic stay in Athens! The outdoor accommodations, kitchen and rooms were fantastic! Our dogs loved the entire place! Our motorcycle adventures were great! We had a couple of rain days and took advantage of the local winery and brewery. Everyone was so friendly! We’ll be back

We had a great time as a big group from out of the US, all the house felt comfortable with a lot of different activities inside that we wish to stayed longer to be able to use them. I personally recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in southeastern Ohio and would like a relaxing time with family

The place was clean and the description accurate. The owners' place is right across the pool, but they were very discrete. The depandance is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood. If you're not seeking complete privacy, Holly's place will provide a very pleasant stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay and found the place clean, inviting and the decor was perfect. The host was very responsive to any questions we had and it was a great stay all around!

Lovely cabin and location for a long weekend. Clean with enough towels, hand soap, garbage bags, and TP for our weekend (even left the TP we brought behind :) ). Little things like a dog dish so I didn't have to use ours and the solar light in front so you can see the cabin from the road at night are special touches. Location was nice as it was close to Logan for a quick dinner out or to grab food to make in the cabin, but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful. Appreciated having some level of WiFi, but be warned it isn't enough to work from or use multiple devices - which was fine by me this weekend! We enjoyed playing games and cards and were only slightly sad to not be able to watch March Madness as easily as at home. My only wish for this cabin is to have a washer/dryer after a day of muddy hiking and playing in streams. Did I mention how clean it was when we arrived? Wonderful place to stay!

Beautiful and peaceful place to spend quality time with my family. The cabin was very clean and had everything needed to hang out, cook, play games, and enjoy swimming. Love the porch! We spent almost all of our time on it. There was a grocery just 20 minutes away in Pomeroy that had any essentials you may want or need, including Mothman potato chips.😀 If you are looking to go and do something, I recommend the 45 minute trip to Point Pleasant to visit the Mothman museum. Be sure to watch the Mothman Prophecies the night before. It adds to the thrill. There is also a beautiful park by the river with great history. The town has quaint and unique shops. Overall, it was a wonderful relaxing stay!

We loved our stay at the Hummingbird Cabin. Our group of seven was more than comfortable. We had a blast in the private salt water pool. Playing volleyball with my nephews every night after hiking will always be a fun memory for us. The pool and hot tub were both clean and warm. We had rain our whole stay, so coming back after hiking in the rain to a warm pool and hot tub really saved our trip from being wet and boring. The cabin is close enough to all the trails, but also secluded enough to enjoy the tranquil nature of the cabin. The hosts were always kind leading up to our stay, and made sure we were always happy. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. We won’t hesitate to come back.

This was the perfect little spot for my daughter and I for a one night get away to hike and chill. The A-Frame is in a great little development with an excellent pool, a beautiful fire pit to share, an a great woods view from the little aframe porch. The check in staff at the front reception building were so helpful and attentive. We would stay again in a heart beat! It was also nice to be near shops and food of the town of Logan - close enough to just run up in the car about 10 minutes to restaurants & groceries instead of having to bring all our food.

Quaint and quiet spot! Short distance to Athens and under an hour drive to Hocking Hills! Very welcoming and invited to check out the property.

Beautiful area located near Hocking Hills! No service available, be sure to come prepared with maps of surrounding areas. Previous person left trash at campsite so I did my best to pack out what they left behind with the trash bags the host provided. My first solo car camping trip was quite unforgettable! 💗

This place was perfect for Mom's weekend at OU. It was about a 10 minute drive to campus.

Collin was a great host, and he was super responsive to our communication. We had a large group of 14 and we felt right at home. The house has everything you need, and if not, its easy to find and easy to communicate with Collins. Great place if you have a good size group and want a place to hang out together, but also a private space to chill by yourself.

We had a nice stay during our time in Athens. It’s a convenient and walkable location, and the updates/ renovations are great. The kitchen was really nice, and everything was very clean. As the description says, it’s in the lower part of a family’s home, so we did hear the kids playing and dog barking above at times. Otherwise, it was a peaceful and convenient stay. Thanks!

Unique stay at a container home! Very cute/clean and excellent use of the small space. Host was friendly and responsive. As noted in the listing, the driveway to get to the home is steep and we were glad to have 4 wheel drive. Great location near the highway for an overnight stay on the way home to Michigan. We would stay again.

this was perfect for my wife and I. we were on a road trip with our child and dog. it was awesome seeing the horses and having the space for our doctor run around.
