single bed + breakfast, shared bathroom, parking

Lyn and John were fantastic hosts - being generous with lively conversation but also providing options for privacy as desired. I paid a reduced rate due to some regulars being out of town, but they are already providing an excellent value classic bed and breakfast service with homestay personal touches. Lyn offers a full cooked breakfast and cereals to all guests, but was happy to make adjustments to tastes and needs. John also makes a tasty coffee from the espresso machine. I would be glad to return if I am able to find a moment when they are not fully booked!

Hammerdown Self Catering

Lovely little place in very gorgeous surroundings. Carol was more than friendly and we had pretty much everything we needed. We had the slight issue of getting around and did have to change our plans due to lack of public transport as we were there on a Sunday and bank holiday Monday, but completely our fault. Uber did work in the area and was around £10 to chipping sodbury, but just something to bear in mind if not bringing a car.

The Cubby ‘Tincture Tailor’

I needed somewhere to stay for one night as I was out in Bristol (along Gloucester road) for a works social and this room was perfect. The room was quirky and had everything i needed as a solo traveller for one night. Carly was a great host as well. To note, the pub just down the road (the Wellington) served quite a nice breakfast.

Characteristic Countryside Farmhouse

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Hazel’s place! Although the location is a bit farther from the city center, we were traveling by car, so it was very convenient and stress-free. In fact, the peaceful setting and beautiful natural surroundings turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Hazel is an incredibly warm and welcoming host—responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about making her guests feel at home. From the moment we arrived, everything was well-prepared, and her hospitality really stood out. The home itself was spotless, cozy, and exactly as shown in the photos. We especially enjoyed the warm and inviting dining area—it became our favorite corner for slow breakfasts and evening chats. The atmosphere of the entire place is calm and comforting, making it a perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing. If you’re looking for a quiet and scenic getaway with a host who truly cares, we highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Hazel, for making our experience s
