The cottage is a Grade II listed barn conversion offering a welcoming base for your stay. Heating is provided by a biomass boiler, so very eco friendly. There is also a wood burning stove to keep you cosy. We are in a quiet village called East Cottingwith: a fantastic base for visiting York and touring Yorkshire. Ideal for cyclists, bird watchers, walkers and anyone who wishes to enjoy a rural location close to the attractions of the city of York. There is no regular public transport.

How could I not give 5 stars to everything. Loved, loved, loved it. Hazel and Phil were fabulous hosts. The house was so beautiful and everything you needed was there. The animals were so well cared for and you can see how passionate Hazel and Phil are about caring for them. The surrounding countryside is so peaceful and pretty. It was a very special find and would love to stay again when I return. Would absolutely recommend it.

Lovely quiet cottage tucked away with its own sunny courtyard. Ideally located for York, The Yorkshire Air Museum and the University. The pub and the village shop are an easy 5 minute walk and plenty of food/entertainment options available within easy driving distance. Used the handy OS maps provided to do some walking and biking. The cottage was nice and clean with everything needed available and working. Nice and friendly host and highly recommended for 2 person accommodation.

We had a wonderful stay! The home was really beautifully decorated with great attention to detail—it felt cozy and inviting from the moment we arrived. The hot tub was a lovely touch and made the experience even more relaxing. The host was very responsive and made sure everything we needed was available. we had a wonderful weekend staying in your accommodation. we travelled to York a fair few times and this was a 20 minute drive. the lodge was beautiful, really cosy and we felt right at home. the lockbox was hard to find in the dark as we arrived in the evening however soon noticed it once we got back in the car. really beautiful lodge and great communication from the owner. thanks again.

Louise’s lodge is absolutely beautiful and in a very peaceful location. The rooms were absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. The hot tub is a lovely addition and the fact that it is in the back garden for privacy made it even better. The location of the accommodation is fantastic, around a 30 minute drive to York city centre and also has great bus links to both York and the nearby town of Pocklington. Thank you Louise, we will definitely come back to your lovely lodge!
