Boat House, Relax in a Whitstable Fisherman's Cottage

Watch the latest catch come in at the working harbour, then wander back via one of Whitstable's many good quality local restaurants, then home to this comfy and cosy period cottage tucked behind vibrant Harbour Street. Original fireplaces and soft, whitewashed floorboards retain the traditional character. Boat House cottage is decorated to a high standard and is bright and clean. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to prepare meals. However if you wish to give yourself a break from cooking you will be perfectly located in a quiet street, tucked behind the bustling Harbour Street the centre of Whitstable’s cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course the beach is only a hop, skip and a jump from there. Boat House is in the heart of the conservation area and the street leads on to the famous Harbour Street which is full of great boutiques and cafes and only moments from Whitstable Beach. The south facing garden is a real sun-trap and a very nice place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. I provide great quality bedding to make sure you get the most comfort on your holiday with a selection of feather and anti allergy pillows depending on your preference. The beds are John Lewis pocket sprung mattresses with quilted underlays to give maximum comfort and duvets from the white company with either linen or 400 thread count Egyptian cotton duvet covers. Boat House is suitable for adults and children so we can accommodate all combinations of parties and travel cots and booster seats are available on request. I also provide various combinations of welcome pack which is available upon enquiry 2 double bedrooms, one with ensuite 1 twin with 2 single beds 2 bathrooms (including the ensuite) Dining room Kitchen Sitting room Garden with dining table and chairs I would be happy to make recommendations and bookings at local restaurants for your stay. Whitstable is a quirky town famous for farming the Whitstable Native Oyster. Bracing strolls along the beach or a refreshing swim in the sea, help to work up an appetite before a pot of cockles and a pint in the pub, a great meal in one of the town's many restaurants or browsing the boutiques on nearby Harbour Street. There are so many easy ways to unwind and relax here in Whitstable. The train station is a 10 minute walk and very pleasant if you come through Stream Walk which is a pedestrian cut through on the way from the station. The Cathedral city of Canterbury is nearby and makes a fascinating historic alternative to chilling out on the beach if you want to absorb some culture while you are here for good measure! Either take the bus or a taxi if you have not brought your own car. Margate which is undergoing a revival is 20 minutes on the train. There you can enjoy the Turner Contemporary art gallery and lots of vintage shopping in the Old Town and the amusement park Dreamland which has recently reopened having been restored. Other towns along the coast worth exploring are Broadstairs and Ramsgate for their different styles of beach walks. Whitstable is only 90 minutes on road or rail from London.

Chill at the cosy Fisherman's Cottage by the Sea

While away leisurely evenings on the intimate deck with rustic wooden benches at a tranquil cottage in popular Island Wall. Pared-back neutral decor and subtle coastal accents blend with the period features, from barn-style doors, hardwood floors and a wood burner for those cosy nights in. (Please let me know in advance if you want logs ordered) Modern features to compliment, super fast broadband, smart TVs, nest heating. Please note for those with mobility issues these fisherman cottages have steeper stairs than normal and the only bathroom (no shower) is off one of the bedrooms . Our cosy fishermans cottage has everything you will need for a chilled and relaxing stay by the beach. You will enter the cottage through the barn style front door that lead into a small hallway with a fairly steep staircase ( normal for these types of properties) to the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs? The sitting room to the front of the cottage have deep comfortable sofas (separate bed for your dog if required) for watching SKYQ tv or listening to music on the Roberts radio. The cottage is warm and there is a log burner that can be used on a chilly days. The separate dining room has a wooden table that seats 6 people. The large cupboards house crockery and cutlery and the cupboard under the stairs has lounging chairs for the beach. The well equipped kitchen houses a large fridge freezer, oven, hob and microwave, washing machine and dryer and a barn style door that leads out to a private walled decking area with seating. Complimentary tea and coffee will be provided. There are 2 large double bedrooms with comfortable brass beds in each room. All windows have modern shutters that block out any light for lie-ins. All fresh white linen and a choice of pillows in either feather, foam or tempura. One bedroom has a wardrobe with hangers and space for cases and both have bedside cabinets and lighting. The second bedroom leads into the bathroom with a roll top bath and shower . Towels, toilet paper, shower gel and lotion are all provided. Please feel free to use this cottage as though it is your home. If you use or break anything please replace it and kindly let me know. If there are any problems, please do hesitate to contact me. The famous Windys is 30 seconds from the front door, serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Watch the sunset every evening whilst sipping a cocktails outside the Neptune pub which is directly on the beach . The harbour with its fabulous restaurants and local arts and crafts is less than a 10 minute walk along the beach. Noise can travel between these fishermans cottages, so please be mindful of your neighbours especially when out in the garden.

Luxury cottage, seconds from beach & restaurants

A stone's throw from the beach, Harbour, boutiques and eateries, Fig Cottage oozes luxury charm. With its newly converted cool mellow interiors, lofty living and generous eating areas, it's a wonderful space to spend time with friends and family. Think a pampering free-standing bath, Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy white towels. Three generous bedrooms (one with a secret bunk) in relaxing tones give a fabulous nights sleep after a long walk on the beach or a sea dip. An airy open-plan living space, with a comfy velvet sofa, gives some down time after a day on the beach and a large convivial dining table a place to enjoy casual suppers, with patio doors open to the garden. The kitchen is newly fitted in cool blues and leads on to a sunny courtyard for a relaxing glass of something chilled. A downstairs cloakroom adds convenience. The three luxury bedrooms and spacious bathroom are arranged over two floors, with wide wooden floorboards, a multitude of original features and antique furniture. White slatted blinds add light and shade. Lovely views down Whitstable's famous Harbour Street add to the ambience, sit in the bay window and watch the world go by. The Victorian style free-standing bath (with shower over it) makes for a glorious long soak after a day on the beach. Sitting room leading into double bedroom with en suite shower in a converted stable at the end of a delightful large garden. All Covid 19 cleaning advice followed with no contact with other people. So quiet my guests sleep like logs. Continental breakfast in hamper left outside The Stables each morning at pre agreed time. Outdoor secluded area to eat. Travel cot for one infant. Unique!
