Fox Den Cabin (Cabin #1) at Buffalo Gap Retreat

NicolaRating, 5 stars21 months ago
A rustic cabin in the woods for some R and R was what we had hoped for…and we got it! Beautiful wood beams. So nice to have a private bathroom, as well as a window unit for heat and A/C. The shared kitchen was less than 50 feet away and had all the cooking vessels, utensils and cookware to make a meal. But we loved going to cafe! Barbara and her team served up delicious meals.

We loved our short stay at Mason’s place!! We needed a peaceful getaway to just relax and it’s exactly what we needed. The hot tub was amazing, and we hiked all around the property and campgrounds! Had so much fun connecting with nature and relaxing. Also loved how many amenities, spices, oils, pots and pans, etc in the kitchen!!

We loved our visit at Sarah’s, hadn’t stayed in a rustic cabin for a few decades, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our goal was Harper’s Ferry, and the drive was easy. Her restaurant recommendations were perfect

The Shady Bear Cabin

CassidyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This is a beautiful, private place with amazing nature. We saw deer and hummingbirds, and they were pretty close to us. This place has a wonderful cat (Mr. Moo) who will give you much love! It is a bummer that we didn’t see dogs, but we got to see the chickens and got eggs from them! Amazing place! Although we may not hear beautiful sounds like others mentioned, we felt the peace and mindless presence. We enjoyed our time, and it was a perfect place for our short retreat.

Lost River Tiny House, dog-friendly + hot tub

KirstenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This was great! We enjoyed riding the gravel roads, seeing wildlife. We did think it would be a little bit more private you can see 3 houses from inside but that was not a deal breaker just not what we had expected. To be fair it’s possible we did not read description very well.

The Laurel Haven Container

MistyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This private little shipping container was everything I hoped it would be. Easy access with immense privacy and everything you would need for a relaxing and quiet getaway. The fishing area was wonderful and my partner was catching bass and blue gills left and right. My partner and I needed to check out a little later than expected and Grant was super responsive with coordinating with the cleaning crew to arrive a bit later. He even found something local for us to do between the later checkout and our scheduled lunch date. The negatives I would mention is the super high bed that literally needs a step stool to get onto, a very slow draining shower that collects water at your feet and stains or spots that were all over the couch. We also had an issue with the hanging table not detaching from the wall correctly, as the permanent anchors were coming out the drywall. Even with those small drawbacks, I would rent here again because of the location, privacy, and attentive host.

Copper Flat Cottage

JessicaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The cottage was the perfect little getaway for our anniversary trip. It was clean and cozy and Jessica added a lot of really sweet touches that made us feel right at home. The location feels private without being too far from local amenities. It was quiet and relaxing. We stayed here primarily to visit Gettysburg, which is about half an hour from the house, but there are also several small towns a bit closer that had stores and farms and other cute places to check out. The listing was exactly as described and besides our own groceries, we really didn't need anything else that wasn't already there. Definitely would stay here again!

The hobbit hole was such a quaint and unique place to stay that was clean, comfortable and cozy. Marlan was warm and welcoming at check in and gave us the best kettle corn I’ve ever had. There were also quail eggs in the fridge to try which added to the fairytale feel. Perfect stop for our little weekend adventure.

Hideaway Cabin- Tiny Cabin, Hot Tub, View, Firepit

BriannaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Such a beautiful spot! Definitely a hideaway cabin! I do want to emphasize if you aren’t used to up the mountain/trail drive and you have a car - borrow the SUV! Thankfully we had an SUV but to help us get up the mountain we were in trail mode. The place was clean and quiet! Perfect getaway. Close to things to do! Highly recommend Triple Crown BBQ in Luray. Apple House for the donuts in Front Royal. Absolutely the bakery “Main Street Bakery” in Luray!

Peace of mind country living at its best

SaraRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
This house is absolutely incredible! It was the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy some true peace and quiet, this is the place to be. The home is beautifully decorated, both inside and out, with thoughtful touches that make it feel warm and welcoming. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking. Ira went above and beyond by stocking the house with all sorts of essentials—many of which came in handy during our stay. I truly can’t say enough great things about this place, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Huge thanks to Ira for being such a fantastic host!
