Ydilische Bed en Breakfast Walden (walden is the Frisian word for forests) is located in the National landscape Northern Frisian forests. Characteristic is the ‘smûke’ scenery with thousands of kilometres of alder, dykswâlen (wooden ramparts) and hundreds of pingos and pools. The area has unique flora and fauna. Biodiversity is high here. A short distance from Groningen, Leeuwarden, Dokkum and the Ydillian Wadden Islands. The area is very suitable for hiking, cycling, canoeing.

Unique! Right on the Fluessen, unobstructed view!

Our house on de Koggeplaet in Elahuizen is really right on de Fluessen and by the harbor. From the terrace, unobstructed views over the lake. Also there is a terrace on the harbor and in the garden! Elahuizen is located in the middle of the water sports area of Friesland. A quiet place for sailing, cycling, hiking or skating! The forest and a golf course in Gaasterland are also nearby! In the months of July and August we only use Friday as arrival and departure day.

The tower is good isolated. The tower is near to woods, the IJssellake and not far from Amsterdam. The tower is situated on a quiet spot. Lelystad has a few good restaurants, musea and 'Bataviastad', an outlet shopping center. It is nice to have your own car or bike, because public transport is not nearby. The tower has a beautiful view on a pond and trees. It is suitable for singles, couples or a small family.

Lovingly and thoughtfully, we have set up our cottage under Reet - in the hope that you feel comfortable with your family and / or your friends - just like home! A newly covered, typical local thatched roof, the restoration of the old pigeon and a careful process of expanding to preserve as much as possible - that was important to us and shapes this unique building. Unfortunately, party groups do not suit us!
