This place was very homely and slept 11 of us very well. Beds were all really comfortable. Kitchen had great crockery, perfect amount for the amount of people that can stay here. Beautiful surroundings and pub only 10 minute walk away. Lovely wildlife; bunnies, birds and cows in opposite field. Easy parking with plenty of space. Easy location and check in instructions. Property felt very safe. Very good value for money and responsive host.

A gorgeous bolt hole for three weeks of blissful walks and peace. The private access to the lake was great for us as swimmers; easy to get home and warm up! I really liked the laundry room after our walks - could was and dry clothes really easily. Comfortable bed, kitchen perfect for self catering and relaxing sofa and tv and bath at the end of the day.

Our stay at Luxury Escapes was just what we needed. We stayed in the Herdwick house which had a lovely hot tub and a nice scenic view from the balcony. The rooms were as described and kept clean. We were slightly disappointed as we were contacted prior to our arrival about booking at the Wilson’s Arms pub. When we arrived it turned out the booking wasn’t confirmed and we either had to wait an out for a table, or take away our dinner. We were expecting to sit in and have a lovely pub dinner but unfortunately we couldn’t. I also realised when we tried to book through the Airbnb messages, we actually didn’t get a reply, even though it was a few days prior to our check in. We also had some trouble with the wifi, I think the house had poor signal so wouldn’t allow us to log in unless we were outside. Overall, was a lovely stay, we had some good walks, and enjoyed a relaxing weekend with a hot tub

Bowmanstead studio is a lovely, bright, comfortable stone cottage, set in the most amazing little garden, with flowers and birds galore, and even a friendly visitor in Alfie the cat! It is a lovely little walk along the bridle path into Coniston or through the wood to the lake shore. Coniston is quieter, less crowded and more peaceful than Ambleside or Bowness and the Steam Yacht Gondola is well worth a cruise.
