Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Þingeyjarsveit

The view from this house is everything! This little house is separated from the rest of the town, so you really get a feeling of isolation! It also helps that we got to see the northern lights. Just wow! Spacey enough for 6 adults!

Olof was a wonderful host! Her and her husband met us at the rental and gave us a tour and was there to see if we had any questions. Beautiful home and great location!

The house was in a great location and had access to a lot of attractions in either direction. In particular, Alejandro himself was the highlight of the stay—he helped us with the real local travel advice, weather advice (we were there during a storm!), recommendations, was attentive and prompt for answering questions, and a cool guy overall. Beautiful area, great central location, and a great experience!

Beautiful location - plus we were lucky enough to see northern lights right there! Place was as described, very comfortable, easy drive to downtown Akureyri. We had a wonderful time - thank you!

Absolutely perfect place for our visit! The pictures do not do this house justice. Felt cleaner and airier and has a better view than we even expected! Has a commanding view of Akureyri and you can watch airplanes take off and land from the living room window. The hot tub was perfect as well! Cannot recommend highly enough!

I wish we could have stayed here for a week. Or a month. Such a beautiful home in a beautiful location. Great design and architecture. Happy little signs of family life but also spacious and accommodating. Both secluded and close to Akureyri. Only regret is that I didn’t try out one of the many hammocks on the property. Loved taking a small watercolor, painted by the host’s mother, home as a reminder of our stay.

A beautiful spot! The house is cozy and better than the photos. We had some issues with getting the hot tub to fill up and get hot. But other than that, the house was great and fully equipped! Please note- the tunnel is approx $21 each way so plan your trips to Akureryi and such accordingly! The only restaurant I think nearby is at the golf course. But the house is a great spot for dining in.

We stayed 3 nights and it was a very comfortable house (6 people). Spacious, clean with a beautiful view of the fjord. Quiet neighborhood with icelandic ponies, sheep and cows nearby. Downtown was close by so we could eat at some of the excellent restaurants in Akureyri. We used the house as a gateway to Myvatn lake area and Husavik. One of my favorite AirBNB stays ever.

The house is a fabulous base from which to explore Akureyri and the local area. You need a car. The outlook over Akureyi is absolutely stunning and we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights from there.

Wonderful house, great location in Akureyri, just a few min to walk anywhere in town. Perfectly clean, very well planned so we were 8 adults/teens sleeping comfortable. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend!! Absolutely beautiful house and location. Haraldur is an incredibly friendly and gracious host - we felt very welcomed. We loved the geothermal pool and natural hot spring. Would love to come back!

One of the best guesthouses of our trip. Warm welcome with visit of the house by the hosts. The guesthouse is large and pleasant with carefully decorated themed rooms. The beds are very large and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and overlooks a terrace with hot tub. There are two fridges for guests with storage boxes depending on the bedrooms. It feels like home in this guesthouse 🙂

We really enjoyed our stay in Grenivík. The house is beautifully designed inside—every room felt thoughtfully put together and very comfortable. The views outside were just as impressive, making it a peaceful and scenic place to stay.

We stayed here one night, and it met our needs, arriving fairly late. Plenty of shared spaces for guests to use. Breakfast started at 8am (currently listing shows 7:30), but it was worth the wait for the delicious spread and interaction with other guests!

Kaldbakur’s cottages is a special spot near Husavik. We had bad weather in our trip or else we could have taken more of the amenities but even still our stay was great. Before arriving the host sent us clear instructions about how to get access to the cabin which was contact free. Rolling up to the cottage the view was majestic. Inside we were able to get settled quickly and there were detailed information packets. They go to extraordinary efforts to stay environmental. The beds were quite soft. The blankets were super warm. On our departure day the weather finally cleared up and we were able to see tons of bird families during our short walk around the property. Husavik is also a great spot to stay. We chose it over Mývatn and were glad for it. One word of warning is the rooms are quite compact so if don’t expect to have place to store your luggage open. For us we had the luggage closed up in the common area and made use of the plentiful hooks for our immediate needs.

In Sara's house, we had to tidy up and clean up on the first day to feel comfortable. Maybe other people are more relaxed about it, but we had slightly higher standards when it comes to cleanliness. There was also little space to store your own things and clothes. After that, we felt very comfortable and enjoyed the time. It was cozy and relaxing, the view fantastic and the hot tub a great extra!! We were in it almost every day, even in storms and hail... Everything is available in the kitchen and there are even toys and books for children, which we really liked. Sara responded quickly and also made a discount on a whale safari possible. Thank you for everything, Sara!

Great location for visiting attractions in northern Iceland, such as Akureyri, Húsavík for whale watching, Godafoss and the geothermal area of Hverir. The cabin is very beautiful and cozy, set in a green landscape, with a spacious common area. The highlight of the house is the hot tub outside! The host is very kind and accommodating. We experienced an unforeseen issue and Stefán responded and reached out to us promptly. Highly recommended!

After we had been looking forward to staying in Heiðas cabin for so long, we just fell in love with it even more from the very moment we arrived. What a gem <3 Aparts from being perfectly clean and well-equipped, the cabin simply just spread such charme and warmth that it was the best possible place we could have returned to after long days of exploration and adventure.
