Stop by 44 North Coffee just around the corner and catch the local gossip. The cottage is so close to amenities but is tucked away in the woods at the top of the hill. Deer and fox wander into the yard and eagles and osprey fly overhead. There are many artists' studios to visit or take a trip to Acadia National Park just a little over an hour away.

My husband and I stayed at Nicole’s for 4 days in September and it was so peaceful, beautiful, and rejuvenating. The studio lets in natural light with a scenic view of a meadow in the back where we watched her horse Caspian grazing while we drank our morning coffees. It was the perfect escape into a place that felt one with nature. The beach is 3 houses down from her property and we enjoyed walking our dogs down there and exploring at low tide. The place itself was extremely clean, comfortable, and we really enjoyed cooking dinners in the kitchenette and found it to have everything we needed to make meals. Nicole was very responsive, welcoming, and so helpful with recommendations. She kindly gave us eggs from her hens as a welcome gift which we enjoyed as breakfast one of the days. Deer Isle has a lot to offer in the way of nature trails, local artists, and delicious food. We would definitely stay with her again!

Cynthia’s place is beautiful. It’s an easy walk (or 3 minute drive) to downtown, and the upstairs deck has a view of the port and town. We were very comfortable and only wish we could have stayed longer. Cynthia is a great host, too - eager to share the best of Stonington and easy to communicate with. Be sure to get some lobsters right off the boat at Greenhead lobster co (a short walk away) and ask Cynthia where to stream them (outside)

The Stronghold

The Stronghold property was spectacular inside and out. We appreciated a short walk to the downtown area for shopping and ice cream. We made lobster several times that we purchased from the nearby lobster co-op and they were delicious. Local community was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay very, very much! Many thanks to our thoughtful host, Sallie, who took great care of us and even welcomed us with delicious brownies!

Can’t say enough amazing things about our stay! The cabin and property are so thoughtfully designed and laid out, it’s so peaceful and relaxing. David & Bill shared local recommendations prior to our trip and all of them were 10/10 - from restaurants to general stores, everywhere we went was a standout. We knew going into it we’d be about an hour from Acadia, so the drive didn’t bother us. We spent our days in Bar Harbor and our evenings near the house, eating at incredible local spots exploring the Sedgwick area. The local snacks upon arrival were really the cherry on top.

A welcoming outdoor space features wooden deck seating overlooking a serene waterfront view. Lush green grass and vibrant flowering shrubs enhance the atmosphere. The calm waters are framed by distant trees and a harbor, creating a peaceful coastal setting.

Perfect! We loved our stay at Amy’s place - just like the photos and as described. Well appointed, maintained and comfortable. Easy walk into Stonington town or to the beautiful quiet Sand Beach. Easy access to lots of good nature preserves and lobster rolls all across the islands. The front yard is so peaceful - set up nicely with chairs & picnic table. Beautiful view to the harbor. On a main-ish street but very little traffic and the placement of shrubs & bushes give you plenty of privacy. We will come again!

Oceanville Oasis on the Peaceful Island

Alice's place is lovely, truly it felt like a home away from home. It was cozy and very clean. My friends and I will not forget the time we living room and kitchen. The kitchen was exceptionally nice as it's design is embossed with a warm colors. Alice was a gracious host, whom I did not get a chance to meet but was very friendly and responsive, and helped us out a lot with suggestions for local nature and cafes. Would definitely stay with Alice again, truly a wonderful experience.
