Vacation rentals with lake access in South Haven

This is a hidden gem! Our group stayed here for a weekend and had an awesome time. We loved the hot tub, the cozy couch and big common spaces, the tricked out finished garage space, and easy access to the lakes (both by kayaking or a nice 25 min path walk). Aaron is a phenomenal host. He stocked the place with anything we could’ve needed and more. Would stay here again for sure. Only knock is we overestimated the number of bedrooms by 1, but that might’ve been our own fault. We had someone sleep on the nice big couch so it wasn’t an issue.

We really enjoyed our time at this house. It was perfect for a quiet weekend out of the city. The house had everything we needed and was quiet and peaceful. We brought the dog, and they were really accommodating with bowls and treats! It was also really easy to get to downtown South Haven and Saugatuck. Will definitely be back.

This place lived up to the hype! It was tucked in a serene wooded area with the beach a short distance away. The stay was clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities needed for our five day stay, including super comfortable beach chairs. We spent many hours reading and playing chess in the three season room. It was nice the place was equidistant from Saugatuck and Holland, making exploring both towns easy. One disclaimer for anyone with mobility issues—Laketown Beach can be extremely challenging to access (particularly on the way back) since it is a large hill and a super sandy trail. Something to keep in mind when booking.

We enjoyed our vacation at John’s home - we had everything we needed for a relaxing week in South Haven. Great location around other nice homes.

Perfect spot near the beach and walking distance from town. The home was the perfect size, super cute, and had everything we needed for our short stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Brad & Gabrielle's house! The house! -It was VERY clean when we arrived and all of the basics were provided -linens, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, soap, garbage bags, etc. -My girls loved the upstairs bedroom with two twin beds. There's two other bedrooms with queen beds (one downstairs and one upstairs). Beds were very comfortable. -The bathroom was downstairs but it worked out fine for us. The shower was fabulous and always warm. -The fenced in yard was PERFECT for our two pups. We also loved the hot tub & bags set. Communication -Simply fantastic! They made sure we had all of our check-in information beforehand, had the house ready for us before the scheduled check-in time, and sent us a South Haven guide that was very helpful in planning our vacation. They checked in on us and were always very responsive. Location -Wonderful! Very close to downtown SH and both North & South beach (15 minute walk or ~5 minute drive). We loved it!

Great private space on a quiet street. Lots of breweries and restaurants a quick drive away. Amenities were just as described and the space is in great condition.

This home is private, peaceful, and the wildlife is great. The grandbabies for to see a turtle have her babies, swans, geese, ducks with their babies, cranes, pike, mongoose and so much more. The home held the entire family so we didn't have to get 2 houses and we made amazing memories in this beautiful home. Thank you so much Jaleen:)

This was one of the very best Airbnb experiences I’ve ever had. Very clean. Very well stocked. Communicative host. And things that were convenient were provided. For instance, beach toys and a beach blanket. Also-we had four people in our party and the space was just a perfect size to have some personal space or to meet all together. I would definitely recommend staying there.

Excellent location. Unit is small and bathroom/toilet is a tight fit. Very clean on arrival and furnishings are nice.

The place is exactly as described. We always enjoy staying here. It is peaceful. Stephaney and Kelli are great hosts! We are thankful and happy we have a place to stay with our dogs!! Thanks!

My two girlfriends and I stayed here for two nights and it has the most beautiful view of Lake Michigan! We arrived later in the evening and were so thankful that our host left us with restaurant menus and recommendations, we loved the pizza. Place was clean and very well stocked with linens and even coffee and some water in the fridge. The beach is a steep staircase away (it was a bit rough, and my legs hurt, but it’s worth the trek). Also thank you sooo much for letting us use your beach chairs! We stayed on the beach from sunrise to sunset. It was magical and the views are to die for! Our only complaint would be the lack of communication that the host would be staying on site during the same weekend as us. The listing brags about a private beach and yet at one point the hosts wife appeared 15-20 feet sitting directly behind us reading a book. We felt like teenagers being watched by our mother. We decided to take a walk, and when we came back she was gone, but it was weird.

Loved the uniqueness of this property, which was both charming and comfortable. Beautiful grounds, great location that was walkable to shops, beach, lighthouse, eateries, etc. Would gladly stay again!

The Neighborhood Hotel is located in a fantastic spot in New Buffalo, making it super easy to park in your assigned parking spot and walk everywhere downtown. The property is beautifully finished inside and out, and the A/C works great. There are lots of community outdoor space with different seating moments to accomidate your needs. The only issue we had was that the wifi was very spotty/did not work on the first day of our stay throughout the property, but it worked great on the second day. Overall I would recommend this property as a great hybrid hotel/AirBnB rental for anyone looking to explore New Buffalo!

This unit was very comfortable and very spacious. It really has everything you need - towels galore, pool and beach amenities (chairs,noodles,cooler,etc), cleaning products, extra mirrors, cords, kitchen stuff - even those toiletries that you might have forgotten. The beds and bedding were very comfortable which is always lovely on a vacation! Patricia was so easy to work with and always answered my questions quickly. The pool was nicely heated and clean. The beach was mostly deserted so I felt like it was my private beach! The walkway down to the beach is paved and renting the golf cart made it even more of an adventure to go up and down that hill! I plan to be back!

We love this place. We’ve now been three times and are already planning our next time. The cottage has everything you need and is cozy and relaxing. Perfect for a lovely few days away from the hub bub of everyday. Meta Rose is proactive and responsive. We’ll be coming back again and again. 💕

We absolutely loved the location of this adorable cottage right in town and so walkable to everywhere in Saugatuck. The views were great and the chairs on the patio looking out on the water were so relaxing. The bed was comfy and it had everything we needed. I also loved that they had cable, so we could relax for a bit before bed and not have to try to remember passwords to log into our streaming platforms.

Third stay in two weeks. Everything about the cottage and grounds is perfect and I am already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the cute cabin! It was just as pictured, was very clean, & had everything we could have needed. When we checked in, there were fresh eggs & local hard cider in the fridge. There were also plenty of movies, games, books, & kids toys stocked around the cabin. The outdoor amenities made this a super fun stay! There is a bar/seating area, a kids playhouse, a lake with a paddleboat and life vests, a ping pong table, a volleyball net, & even a hiking trail! The trail was very fun to explore, & we saw turkeys & a deer on the path. They also have chickens & a very friendly cat on the property. Anne was very accommodating. She provided us with bikes & helmets & offered us a later check-out time. She gave very clear instructions on how to find the property. We met her in-person (she lives on the property) & she was super friendly. The cabin is walking distance from downtown Douglas, a few restaurants, a grocery store, the Dunes Resort, & the Root Beer Barrel.

Great place to stay. Christine is a really good host. The house was clean, and the back yard is great. The only thing is that the access to the beach is a bit challenging than described. But, overall, we had a great expereince at Christine's place.

Wonderful little get away. Visited with another couple. The cottage is so cute and was everything that was described in the listing. There were travel guides o. the table, and the location was in the middle of everything we wanted to do. Thank you sp much for a wonderful stay. We can't wait to come back!

This is a wonderful find in Michiana Shores: close enough to the "action" of New Buffalo but secluded and peaceful. The walk/bike ride to the beach is very pleasant, but you may wish to stay in the backyard of the cottage to enjoy the beautiful surroundings/firepit. Grilling and eating outside on the large table was a blast. The outdoor shower is amazing, especially on a chilly morning! Don't miss a perfect Lake Michigan sunset at Stop 37-39 beach. Meals at Bentwood Tavern and Stop 50 Pizza (which you can WALK TO) were delicious as always. You will not be disappointed staying at this Cottage! A+ hosts and property!
