The Historic Ranch House

We have intentionally tried to preserve as much of the ranch house as possible while still updating the house to today’s standards. The most notable piece of history is the Monarch cook stove in the kitchen, the doorways and doors that are not as tall as today’s standards, the original wood floor in the master bedroom and original moulding around some of the doors. The house is a 3-bedroom, 1-bath house with all the amenities from home. We hope you enjoy our little piece of ranch history!

Our home is nestled on a hillside behind Salida's famous S Mountain, just over a mile from downtown. Hundreds of miles of mountain biking and hiking trails sprawl across these gorgeous hills. We have outfitted our home to reflect our modern tastes and to accommodate all the creature comforts we enjoy on vacation. Large windows and two patios make sure you've got plenty of access to Colorado sunshine and spectacular mountain views. Three spacious bedrooms and three full bathrooms. No pets.

No fishing on property. Guests like to see our wild trout. There are many fishing spots nearby.

Built-in 2015, it's featured in the "Small House Book" by Lloyd Kahn. It's clean and modern yet warm and cozy. One bedroom has a queen bed and the 2nd bedroom has two twin beds (AC in bedrooms). The main living space has a garage door that opens to the back patio. It's a hop, skip, and a jump from all you need, from biking and hiking trails, restaurants, shops, the playground, the amphitheater, and the river. Only 15-20 minutes to downtown Salida and 30 minutes to Monarch Mountain Ski Area. We have a fire pit and propane grill outside the entryway.
