Amazing value. It's not a bad location if you're exploring the Spring Green area. Steven is a great host and has plenty of useful tips/suggestions. The Pour House has a fantastic breakfast menu at a great price too. The bed was not the best but overall my husband and I didn't mind. It was a comfortable stay, and we'll stay again if we're in the area.

This was a unique and fun place to stay. The bartender and cook were fabulous. Very quiet, and the drive to reach the time town was more than worth it!

I had a great time staying here. Hung out downstairs at the bar with the locals. Food was great, company was great. Such a great little bar and great people to make you feel at home. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

This was a great, affordable place to spend the night while passing through town on a road trip. Check-in was easy, and the bar and restaurant downstairs were super convenient.

I needed a place to break up a long drive and this was perfect. The room was inexpensive, clean, the bed firm, and the bathroom clean and everything worked well. I enjoyed a full Wisconsin dinner of cheeseburger, cheese curds, beer and ice cream downstairs and had a good sleep upstairs.

Absolutely great hospitality. Super affordable liquor. Rock is great. He even opened the kitchen just for the 6 of us late in the night after closing time. We all had a great time.

We had an amazing time staying at Dan and Kellies place! The views from the deck at sunset are amazing. The dogs had a blast running through the huge property all day. Dan stopped by a few times to make sure everything was ok and help with anything we needed. Will definitely be booking another stay here soon!

An amazing cabin in a beautiful location! We came for a few days to get away from the city and this was the perfect place to do that. The space was full of really thoughtful details and you can tell how much care goes into the place. We would absolutely come back again!

After a long drive to get there we enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable chairs in the living area. The beds were very comfortable as well. If we are in the area again, we would definitely stay at Melissa's place.

Perfect get away, walking distance from down town Shullsburg and easy drive to Galena, IL

We had a great overnight stay while attending a wedding. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking so we enjoyed a big breakfast in the morning.

Melissa was so easy to communicate with during our whole stay. She was full of kindness and her home was great. This was our first Airbnb stay and because of her we will continue to use them for our future travel. The house was very clean and there were lots of sleeping options, we were thankful for her having some toys for our kids to play with while we were there. We also had fun having a dance party in the living room powered by the Amazon Alexa she had. It was a fun stay!

This is a very picturesque property and the Farmhouse is in great condition. There are games for all ages, books, a well-appointed kitchen, outdoor grills, and cozy living spaces. The hosts were in communication and responsive to all our questions. The price is also very reasonable for what is offered.

We absolutely love this farm house. This is our third stay. So homey and in such a peaceful gorgeous setting. Wildlife everywhere you look. And the house has an old world feel but with every modern amenity. It’s beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and organized. The kitchen is very well equipped for whatever you would like to cook! We also like the proximity to Galena. Will be back again!

Jeanne and Ralph are fantastic hosts! There had been a storm and Ralph stopped by to see if we were ok. Even in the extreme heat wave, the house was comfortable. The Farmhouse is spotless. There is a nice mix of yesteryear and modern amenities to make a perfect stay. If we are ever in the area again I know where we are staying - Jeanne and Ralph's Farmhouse!

We had a GREAT stay at David's place! play some soft was very clean and means. The rehab job that they did Saturday night by 10 they pretty much roll the sidewalks up and there was nothing but silence it was wonderful to this house made an excellent value and we would definitely stay again. David’s apartment is a clean, convenient, and cute place right on Shullsburg’s downtown street. He was easy to communicate with and left everything we needed. It was quiet and comfortable.

We loved David's place! There were 3 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out. It would still be spacious with 4 people. The beds and pillows were comfy. The record player and albums were great. That was my teenage son's first time operating a record player, which he thought was really cool. David had great suggestions of places to go. We tried nearby "Gravity Hill" where you put your vehicle in neutral and your car (seemingly) rolls uphill. (Look up a video on YouTube). The local cheese store/creamery was fun, and you get to sample cheeses (adult beverages, too)! Shullsburg is a relatively close drive to Galena, IL as well. We hope to come back sometime!

A little off the beaten path but completely worth it. However you should scrutinize Google Maps routing, it sent me down the worst choice of twisty hilly ridiculous farm roads. The bed was comfy, the area spacious, the bathroom/shower was great.

Earl’s Retreat House is a charming remodeled 1930s Bungalow that has been updated and perfect as an alternative to staying in a hotel in Eastern Jo Daviess County. Teresa is a responsive host and she provides plenty of information about the area. One place we love for pizza is JJ & Freddie’s! Delicious food and great service!

Teresa's place is a tastefully renovated craftman bungalow on a quiet street. Much of the original charm has been preserved. This home is well maintained and clean. Very comfy! Location is very convenient to area scenic sites. Great value!

Great little old house with modern touches to stay in. Clean, Stocked kitchen, Comfortable beds and other helpful amenities. Checkin was super easy and Teresa left very helpful information and resources about and for the house and local communities. Stockton is a very nice little town in the middle of beautiful country. We stayed here for a little fishing trip in and around the Apple River Canyon State Park area and it was an absolutely perfect location.

Teresa is a fantastic and caring host. We had the best experience with her! Anyone who is looking to stay in Stockton or close to Galena, IL should look no further. She offered an early check-in to us and extended our stay just so we can enjoy the beautiful weather on Labor Day and their association club amenities that day. Communication was great and her replies were instant. The house is comfortable and cozy and has everything to make you feel at home while you are away. I couldn't have imagined a better experience! My friend and I wanted a quick girls get away weekend, and Sue was the Perfect Hostess for this much needed trip. She was very accommodating with our time and schedule. She has lived in the area for a long time and was willing to provide suggestions or directions as needed. If you are a dog lover, her pack will be the perfect addition, when you have to spend time away from your own. The space is huge, the beds are big and comfortable, the views are just so Beautiful and relaxing and Sue is so accommodating and everything you would want in a host. I highly recommend a stay here.

Sue’s place is beautiful and sparkling clean. Her dogs are funny and very friendly. Sue provided directions and was very responsive.

Sues home is very inviting. She does have 3 very large dogs but they are “sweeties”. The king sized beds are very comfortable and everything you could want was provided. Sue was informative about places to eat and things to do. Her home sits in a beautiful, quiet location. We hope to stay again the next time we visitGalena.

Sue was very warm and welcoming the entire trip and made sure we had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Her three dogs were very friendly and are an added bonus for any dog lover. The area is beautiful and traveling through the winding roads to Sue’s or the Owner’s Club for a swim or the rec room was always enjoyable.

The Toasted Marshmallow was fantastic! We had a girls weekend with 6 of us staying and had plenty of room. The house was great and the owners were quick to respond to any questions we had. One of the girls used the gym at the Owner's Club and said it was very nice. We will for sure be back to visit.

Perfectly sweet little cabin! The decor is adorable, fireplace was a great touch, and the beds were super comfy. The only issue we had was getting stuck in the driveway, it's pretty steep and there was a snow storm while we were there which made it hard to get out of the drive. So if it's snowy I recommend parking in the street. It was an adventure driving out there at night in all the snow as well! But it was all well worth it once we arrived PLUS there is an Italian restaurant in Galena that delivered pizza and spaghetti to us when we couldn't get out because of the weather! The cabin had plenty of room for all of us to have our own space, and the fireplace kept us super cozy. The hosts were also quick to reply to any of my questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Our family reunion was a success, thanks to Britanny's awesome place! It had everything that we needed and so much more. The house was sparkling clean and the community amenities (indoor pool, gym, game room, etc) were great. I loved that downtown Galena is just a 15 minute drive away. We really enjoyed dining at Fritz and Frites, as well as exploring the quaint shops. Would definitely come back during a different season so we can experience another side of Galena!

The cabin is spacious, and the beds are super comfortable. It was much more beautiful than I imagined and I already had the idea that it was nice in pictures. Everyone that went with me enjoyed the stay, and the beautiful scenery. The area is super country, I loved it!

Incredible location on the water. The kids had a blast using the paddle boat and the stand-up paddle board. With the trees and the setting, it felt like we were entirely alone and had the lake to ourselves.

This room has everything you need. Very clean and well kept. You can walk to all of the shops and restaurants on Water Street. Old world decor, makes for an enjoyable stay. Parking is not bad. I will use them again on my next tip to the area.

Shullsburg is a diamond in the rough - so many amazing shops and restaurants. We stumbled upon this quaint and relaxing cosy room and so enjoyed our stay. We will definitely book again the next time we are in the area.

My husband and I were attending a wedding in Apple River. The location was perfect for us and the hosts worked with us on our schedule since it was a 15:00 wedding. We were extremely happy with how clean the towels, bedding, room and bathroom were. And an added bonus was a VHS player with Back to the Future available. Definitely a great experience!

What a great spot for a weekend away! We spent three great nights among friends and campfires out in the beautiful Apple Canyon Lake area. We've been coming out to the area for over 20 years, but even it had been our first time, they had us all set up with beach passes, local tips, and a great location for a weekend spent either in the house, in the yard, or on the lake. We'll be coming back again!

Nice, clean, newer construction includes everything you need for a relaxing getway. Our group of 7 ladies all had space to spend time together or watch tv downstairs. Beautiful area close to Galena but in the country with lots of wildlife.

The place is perfect for families - with plenty of fun things to do with the kids (if the weather isn't great). A little bit of a walk to the beach but we had a car + a golf buggy from another rented house, so life was easy. Great place to hangout.

If you are looking to completely disconnect and spend time hiking, skiing, walking, visiting Galena and other towns, this is the place to stay. We saw deer, fox, hawks, and two bald eagles, and visited Apple Valley State Park.

Wonderful, quiet place, with everything you need to relax and unwind away from busy life. No internet or cell service to distract from family time. We actually took the time to play games. I would highly recommend.

Seven Sisters Suite is a fantastic rural getaway that is also an easy 15-20 minute drive into Galena. The construction is rustic and homey, very inviting. The setting is picturesque and perfect for long walks to enjoy nature. We will return!

House is great, lots of space, clean and great cabin/antique decor. Good to spend time with friends, family and avoid distractions (no WiFi or cellular). The landscape around is relaxing and calm. Quick drive to Galena and other adventure stuff around Mississippi area. Highly recommended!

This place was beautiful and the stars were magnificent. If you want to completely disconnect this is the place to do it. Galena was a quick drive away and we loved making a fire and s’mores and sitting on the back deck and looking at the deers pass by. Get groceries beforehand and next time we rent we will try to get the whole place. There were very nice people who rented below, but I was worried we were ruining their time as we had small kids, but it all worked out. Lovely touches, clean and just what the doctor ordered!!! Kitchen had everything we needed and did I mention the stars, oh yes I did but they were just stunning. God’s country for sure. We will be back!!

James was quick to answer the few questions we had during our stay. The loft was clean, the water stayed warm for four showers each morning and we had all the utensils we needed to make meals. We had a great experience and would stay here again!

We were in and out quick for a wedding at Eagle Ridge, but this was a perfect nearby spot to crash for the night. Nice secluded location. Loved the window filled breezeway with bistro table to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of Galena wine (compliments of the hosts).

James place is hands down the best Airbnb we have stayed at! We wish we would have booked one more night. It is perfectly private, but close enough to Galena, East Dubuque, and Dubuque. It was very clean with a super comfy bed! Adorable spot on the deck to drink coffee in the morning while soaking up some sun. We used the grill and patio the first night there. Although we didn’t get a chance to make s’mores - they were a perfect touch! James was also very easy to get in touch with for questions with fast replies. We truly couldn’t be happier. We will definitely book again!

Wonderful place to stay! Very secluded with a lot of natural beauty! Perfect central location to the nearby towns. Some highlights of our trip included Galena Cellars, exploring the state trails, eating at Cajun Jack’s, & relaxing at the house. I will definitely be back!

Cozy, country get away!! We had an absolute blast staying here! The place is about 17 minutes from Main Street Galena but is so comfy and cozy, you won’t want to leave! We loved the balcony and listening to nature every morning and evening. The studio is large and was super clean. James recommended Galena Cellars and it took our breath away! The view is just amazing. We also did the Yoga with Goats and got massages at Galena Day Spa. All highly recommended! Thank you James for a great stay! We will be back!

Jennifer was a remarkable host to work with. She was quick to respond and very hospitable. The Sweet Escape is a very spacious, comfy, well decorated, clean, fun, and overall beautiful home. It can accommodate about 14 people. It was 11 of us staying there and we instantly fell in love with the house after taking a tour. 😁 We barely wanted to leave. All of us plan on coming back during the summer with friends and/or family. I would definitely recommend the Sweet Escape to everyone.

House is absolutely spotless! Sheets and beds were comfortable. Many thoughtful touches including extra towels and blankets, the most detailed instructions I’ve ever seen, charging ports, WiFi signs, you name it. Jennifer was super responsive and lovely. Our family came from all over to meet up for an early thanksgiving so we really utilized the kitchen space. Plenty of bowls and serving spoons for all of our cooking. Absolutely lovely and we hope to be able to stay again! Our family wants to make it an annual tradition. Oh and the STARS were absolutely incredible!!! Saw dear and eagles and a coyote. 💙💜❤️

Jill’s place was even cooler than we expected. We rented the entire place between 3 couples and the layout worked perfectly! 3 bathrooms (one for each couple) really was amazing. We loved gathering all around the both the fireplace in the kitchen and in “the parlor”. The location was also unbelievable. A hop skip and a jump from everything we needed. Very Charming!

This space has 3 very large bedrooms and bathrooms. The common area is spacious, as well. There is an amazon fire stick in the kitchen, as well as wi-fi. We were very happy with our stay here.

We spent 2 nights with 4 couples and had plenty of space! There was lots of room for everyone and great amenities.

Great place. Large enough for 8 or 9 people to fit very comfortably. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Lots of outdoor space as well which is probably nice in the summer months. Really appreciated the layout. Having bedrooms on each level allowed each couple to have some personal space. Hot tub was awesome!!

We have the most wonderful weekend at this house. It was the perfect size for three families, and close enough to downtown, pumpkin patch, walking trails, etc. All of the amenities were wonderful (hot tub, fire pit) and the place was very clean and cozy. We had everything we needed and would certainly recommend this house (and host!) to anyone looking at Galena.

Ginger's place exceeded our expectations for our group's summer trip! I would highly recommend. Directions and check-in to the location were very easy. Communication with Ginger was very prompt and responsive. We were also welcomed with a bottle of wine, which was a really sweet touch. It had a surplus of kitchen utensils/supplies as well a plenty of plate/silverware for large groups. Also a of spices which was very appreciative! We cooked the whole weekend and had everything we needed. All of the amenities mentioned worked without any issues - the hot tub was a major plus! The fire pit was really nice for smores, although some chairs are a little broken so just be careful of that, but there's plenty of seating around. All the beds were comfortable and there's plenty of extra pillows and blankets in the closet. With the number of bathrooms, no one ever had to really wait to shower so that was also great for a large group. We hope to come back and stay here again!

The instructions were abundant and easy to understand and the place was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and serving a big meal. The hot tub was great and we even got to watch deer in the yard next door while we sat in it. With easy access to downtown and Chestnut, I’d recommend this place to anyone.

My fiancé and I had a great stay here. The place is located right downtown. There are several bars and restaurants within walking distance as well as a great coffee shop. The place itself was fantastic. I would highly recommend staying here.

We recently stayed at this property for the weekend. It was a great place to end up at the end of two busy days traveling and being out and about with family. The property was very clean and all amenities were covered. We loved the historic charm and being right downtown Shullsburg. We’d definitely recommend this property and will stay again the next time we’re in the area!

Hard to write a great review because it may jeopardize what I liked best about this cabin, It’s seclusion! Beautiful scenery, nestled in rolling hills, wildlife abounds yet minutes away from Galena. Accommodations were very comfortable, no tv, no wifi, no cell service; it was exactly what I was looking for. I will most definitely recommend this to friends and I may stay in the second cabin in the property, high on a hill & even more private.

This cabin is well maintained and a perfect getaway from the city! Our dog, Buddy, had a great time exploring the property. The weather was a little rough but more reason to watch some DVDs and enjoy some wine inside. We will consider this cabin again in the future!

Amazing house and views!!

Great home with modern finishes and very spacious. We stayed with small children and they really enjoyed the games and playing outside in the snow. We had heavy snow during our stay making the roads pretty dangerous to drive on during the snow storm. Plows for the street were there in the early morning. Welcome letter was a bit aggressive to ward off party people and those that are disrespectful. Overall it was a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful weekend. This home was immaculate and stocked full of everything we needed for a family weekend of playing games and spending time together. Just a short drive to shopping and resturaunts. We also enjoyed taking our little ones to the pool at the owners club. Highly recommend this beautiful home.

This house is prettier than the pictures. Very charming and super clean. Fire pit was great. Wood to use as well. The screened in patio is well situated in the house connected to both the living room and kitchen. Really nice place! We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time and enjoyed hours of conversation and coffee on the screened-in porch. The weather was rainy, so it was great to be in the woods in a cozy atmosphere listening to the sounds of nature. Penny was very responsive and check-in was extremely easy. The house was very comfortable and spacious. We will be back!

Beautiful home in the woods and it was very easy to get into town using a cab. A storm came through the last night we were there and the three season was the perfect place to enjoy it. I highly suggest this listing if looking to stay in a quiet house in the woods.

This home was perfect for a ladies weekend getaway! It was clean, spacious, well-stocked with odds and ends that you might need, and tucked away for a nice private stay. The hot tub was a favorite gathering space, as well as the kitchen. We loved our time here!

Penelope’s places was the perfect lodging for my best friend’s bachelorette party! We loved being close to Galena and even Dubuque while still being secluded. We were impressed by the cleanliness and the size of the rental! We were also stoked about getting some use out of the hot tub (once it cooled down from the 90+ degree weather we’ve been having). It’s secluded so the driving is a bit hard, with all the hills, curves and wildlife, but that comes with the territory. All in all it was a wonderful stay and I would stay again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful views from the windows of the trees on the hillside sitting. Very relaxing place to spend time with family and friends. Nice size home with plenty of room to stretch out and visit. Close to Galena restaurants, shopping and wineries! I would stay at this Airbnb home again.

We had a really nice stay at this cabin and were delighted with the fire pit and plenty of deck chairs and yard chairs to enjoy the nature. Grassy walking paths with pretty trees and wild flowers. Plenty of parking, very quiet and secluded. Great to hear all the animals and to see the sunset and the stars at night. Cabin was clean & organized. Room enough for our party size. We watched a movie & enjoyed dinners together. Thank you!!

Lovely cabin surrounded by forests, meadows and cornfields. Easy drive to Galena and Palisades State Park. We greatly enjoyed the quiet and beautiful nature- and dog loved romping through all the wildflowers.
