Places to stay in Saint Clears
On a family smallholding in beautiful rural Carmarthenshire, the cosy, historic cottage has been lovingly renovated to include underfloor heating, woodburning stove, well equipped 'farmhouse' kitchen, private garden and outdoor electric hot tub for your exclusive use during your stay and a shared games barn. Plenty of family-friendly activities and both coasts are within easy driving range. One well behaved dog welcome, please see dog rules. Please read description and house rules carefully.
The cottage has been carefully renovated using lime, and other sustainable building materials. We have installed high tech heating and hot water that is super eco friendly and reliable. No matter what time of year you stay it will be cosy: as well as underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, there is an optional woodburner with complimentary starter pack of logs and kindling. The whole cottage is well equipped with a fantastic bespoke 'farmhouse' kitchen including antique Welsh dresser, traditionally oiled Welsh slate worktops, a belfast sink, Neff dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, Bosch fan oven, coffee maker and Miele washing machine. Outside is our fantastic, luxury hot tub, the perfect way to relax and unwind! The hot tub is electric, so ready at the touch of a button and we use 'skin friendlier' bromine to keep it sparkling clean. The tub has been carefully sited on it's own patio area adjacent to the cottage garden, which ensures both easy access for over 16's to the tub and a safe area of garden for young children. The tub takes in the stunning countryside view and during the evening our very dark skies make it a perfect spot for stargazing. Even on a wet night, with the fairy lights on and the soothing jets going it's a perfect way to end your day. We live next door and it's an outdoor hot tub, so it's not completely private, however we feel that the carefully considered landscaping balances guest's privacy and the view from the tub; the vast majority of guests who have used the tub have loved it, we hope you will too. Upstairs the 2 bedrooms have beautiful views, radiators, waxed wooden floors and comfortable beds. The romantic master bedroom has a period fireplace and super comfortable brass bed with luxury wool duvet and feather pillows - we've had lots of guests remark on what a wonderful night's sleep they've enjoyed! The bunk bed room has been carefully planned as a children's space, with a great collection of kids books, and has a built in cupboard with hanging space and drawers and the window has a blackout blind and curtains.. The bathroom upstairs has a bath with Mira thermostatic shower over, with glass shower screen. There is a heated towel radiator and we supply luxury Egyptian cotton towels. Other provisions include TV with Freesat, DVD player and Amazon Fire Stick, BBQ, games barn with table tennis, travel cot (up 10 15kg/can't climb out), highchair (up to 15kg) and a good selection of books, toys, games and collection of DVD's. The skies here are perfect for stargazing as we have very little light pollution. The local roads are very quiet and there are plenty of countryside walks. We actively encourage wildlife, have re-established wildflower meadows and planted over 7000 native trees. As a result we have lots of birds to watch, including Herons, Woodpeckers and Wood Warblers, we frequently see Sparrow Hawks, Red Kites, Buzzards, and visiting Barn Owls, to name but a few! Guests can access the river, at the bottom of the field -which is fun to splash around in, or a great place for a picnic. However if you're quiet you might even spot the Kingfisher? Newcastle Emlyn (9 miles) and St Clears (8 miles) are both within easy reach for shopping and some fantastic restaurants and we sell eggs and "the best meat we've ever eaten", according to some of our guests. If you're a knitter or crocheter, why not treat yourself to some of our luxury 100% alpaca wool too? The cottage is on our small family farm; run on Organic, pesticide free principles, nestled in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. We raise a variety of traditional & rare breed animals, producing the very finest quality meat. Although the farm feels very tucked away, it is easily accessible. If you would like a 'farm tour' we're happy to show you round and introduce you to some of the farm animals. We offer a whistlestop free tour, or an extended payable tour where you can meet and feed some of our animals. If you would like one of our very popular finest quality and locally sourced food hampers, homemade birthday cake or loaf of organic farmhouse bread, then please ask for details!
For day to day shopping you can't go wrong with Newcastle Emlyn to the north, jam packed with small independant shops and cafes. To the south is St Clears with a supermarket and art centre and we are only a 20 minute drive from Carmarthen. There is plenty to explore nearby; some of our favourite spots include Fynnone woods with it's dramatic waterfall and Tenby, Llansteffan, Laugharne and Llangrannog for their beaches and castles. For those looking for adventure Oakwood adventure park is a short drive away, as are Anna's Zoo and Blue Lagoon water park. For a spot of culture (aside from any of Wales' 600+ castles!) we are within easy reach of the National Botanic Gardens, Dylan Thomas' boat house and the Gwili Valley Steam railway to name but a few. For food enthusiasts Caws Cenarth cheese factory and tasting room is not to be missed and we have some award winning restaurants within a short drive.
  • Claire and Oli’s cottage was absolutely beautiful. It was sparkling clean and so so cosy. Claire was always on hand when we had questions and recommended some great places for us to visit, including Ffynone Waterfall, which was so picturesque. We went on the farm tour with Oli. It was great! Oli was really knowledgable and it was interesting to hear about their journey with the farm. We would absolutely recommend staying here. The cottage was super peaceful, the hot tub was great, and not too far from some of the bigger towns. We’d even go as far to say it was our favourite Airbnb stay. Thank you Claire and Oli ☺️

  • Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. It was sparkling clean with lovely touches. We had an amazing time.

  • Superb - this is a real gem, and not just because it's very cosy, picturesque and run by two friendly hosts. It's also one of the most environmentally conscious BnBs I've ever stayed in. Huge efforts have been made to make the house as environmentally friendly as possible and the same goes for the farm and local produce as well. The hot tub and wood burning stove are also great fun. I would strongly recommend staying here if you're passing through Carmarthenshire, particularly if the environment is an issue close to your heart.

  • Rural, homely cottage on a small working farm. Easy to find following Claire's directions. Made full use of the log burner and hot tub! Helpful instructions on how to use these are provided. We had ideal weather and clear, starry nights which made our stay extra special. We will be back in the near future

  • We arrived as a family four looking for a quiet weekend away from our usually busy abode. We found ourselves at a rural farm cottage dotted with cheerful farm animals. Parking was ideal as had a gated drive and we could bring items back and forth to the cottage with ease. The cottage itself was cosy, warm and inviting. A massive pull for us was the wood burner as it is something myself and partner thoroughly enjoy as it adds an extra comfort factor to the colder months. The place was immaculate, towels were provided and the beds were extremely clean and comfortable. One thing that surprised us and took me back to my rural upbringing was going to sleep in absolute darkness. We could not see our hands infront of our faces, no street light, shouting from the street or sounds of cars... BLISS! We did sneak out to the hot tub after the kids went to bed, flip flops on and beach towels in hand, we loved it. Perfect little twinkling lights and the chance to spend time together with the jacuzzi bubbling away. Essentially, it was wonderful. We ventured to Tenby beach for a day out which is always pleasant for us and further enhanced our stay. In all, we shall be returning to this cottage as for us, it was a perfect escape.

  • Had a pleasant stay and it was a lovely place. Difficult to order a cab to get out for dinner and drinks in the evening. Smoking at the designated spot in the evening was difficult when torch on phone battery died and trudging through mud in the dark - consequences of being a smoker.

    Kurt2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Small break away in Welsh countryside, one of the best stays ever. Hosts went above and beyond to make our stay lovely. Would highly recommend, would of loved to stay longer and enjoy more west Wales.

  • Sian’s cottage is really lovely, the perfect rural retreat. Cute and cosy with lots of thoughtful touches and quirky decor (including some gorgeous traditional welsh blankets!). Log fire, comfy bed, great bath tub, beautiful stream at the bottom of the garden. The stairs to the next floor are steep so take care after a glass of wine :) We would definitely stay again.

  • One of my favourite air bnb I’ve stayed in, photos don’t do this places justice was super cosy, and had everything you need. No faults at all would definitely recommend.

    Emelia2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! Cosy, warm with everything you could possibly need! And what a stunning location!

    Rachel2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sian's place is really beautiful - the flat is super cosy and wonderfully decorated and it was so lovely to be close to the river and to watch all the birds from the window. The location is gorgeous. The bed was really comfy and it was so nice to wake up in the morning to the beautiful views. We went for a walk through the local area which was lovely - all the moss and old trees. We were really well catered for in the flat - there was everything we needed and more (cooking equipment, games, a TV, bath, etc.). Thanks Sian!

    Adam2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sian's cottage is in a beautiful location. If you like the sound of a babbling brook and birds, then this is the place for you. The house was spotless and has everything you need to cater for yourselves. Although the stairs look steep in the photos, it is well built and manageable. In the winter, with the log fire, it becomes a warm, cosy and comfortable home. In the summer, the ability to eat outside overlooking a brook in a quiet wooded location, makes it great for all seasons. Top tip: Leave one set of keys in the key blister. This will avoid becoming locked out. Many thanks to Simone for help us out on New Year's Day!!

    Brian2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a magical stay at Sian's cottage over Christmas, it was the perfect place to spend a week away. Sian met us on arrival and showed us around and then left us to enjoy our time. Thoughtful touches with chocolates and fruit, tealights, and decorated with fairy lights and Xmas decs. Loved having fires and the kitchen was perfectly equipped for cooking our veggie Xmas dinner! Lovely bathroom for soaks in the tub, cosy bed with the river at the bottom of the garden giving us a lullaby every evening! Great local tips for places to visit and a great base to explore Pembrokeshire - particularly loved Narbeth and lunch at the Tarfenn Sinc (Tavern Zinc at Rosebush) Thanks for a great holiday Sian! We hope to come back again.

    Cheryl2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sian's place is a perfect getaway in Pembrokeshire. Her space itself is lovely and looks like something out of an interior design magazine! The heating was great and the view is spectacular. It was slightly hard to locate in the dark so I would advise you make it in time before sunset or if you follow Sian's directions, it should be fine! Sian was a great host and made our stay wonderful by suggesting multiple activities nearby. Loved it all!

Lovely, tranquil retreat on the road to Llansteffan, three miles from Carmarthen. The log cabin is at the far end of a large lily pond within the grounds of our three-acre garden. Features include a log burner, fluffy bathrobes, slippers and towels, DVD library, large box of games, private deck and garden area overlooking the pond, BBQ and outdoor lighting. Six miles to the coast at Llansteffan for walks along the stunning beach and up to the castle.
The log cabin is perfect for a rural getaway providing a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's a great base from which to explore south west Wales and cosy nights in with the wood burner will also help you to unwind and recharge the batteries! While the cabin is compact, the three rooms are stylishly designed for comfort as well as for practical living with everything you need to make your stay relaxing. The main room combines the living space and kitchen and features a wood burning stove (we provide all the wood you may need). The cabin is fully insulated but if you feel a bit chilly there are additional electric heaters. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook up a feast, oils and condiments provided. You will be able to settle in as soon as you arrive with a selection of teas, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits! The bedroom and bathroom are accessed from the living room; bedding, bathrobes and fluffy towels are provided for our guests. Right next to the cabin is a small, fully furnished annexe with its own entrance. It has an additional single bed and ensuite bathroom (but no kitchen). If you require use of the annexe there is a supplementary charge of £25 per night. (NB the main log cabin accommodates two people maximum).
We're on the edge of an ancient woodland and a short drive from some of the most beautiful beaches in South Wales (our nearest beach is six miles away in Llansteffan). Carmarthenshire is a wonderful county to explore: plenty of castles nearby and the Dylan Thomas heritage in Laugharne is not to be missed. There are lots of local attractions and beauty spots close by: to the west - Llansteffan, Laugharne, Tenby, Saundersfoot, St David's and of course the Pembrokeshire coastal path; to the east - National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Llandeilo, Swansea and the Gower; to the north west - Cardiganshire; to the north east - the Brecon Beacons. If the countryside or the coast doesn't provide all the entertainment you need there is even a six-screen cinema in Carmarthen, a lively market town. A 15 minute drive takes you to some of the regions top eateries: Wright's Food Emporium and Y Polyn. Carmarthen town also has a number of restaurants - we can give you recommendations. For self catering purposes there are large supermarkets as well as a Spar shop within a short drive of our home.
  • Marlene and Tony are wonderful hosts. Above and beyond with the extra touches such as a birthday bunting and card for my partner. Such a peaceful and relaxing weekend. Thank you so much xx

  • Many thanks Marlene and Tony for being great hosts. We truly enjoyed our stay and we love what you've done with the place. Is really cozy, sparkling clean and fully equipped with everything needed. We appreciate the little touches as well. It was easy to get there and to find the cabin. I cannot recommend it enough. Definitely worth to stay here. And we will be back in summer.

    Naomi2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Marlene and Tony were both amazing hosts. The cosy cabin was brilliant and by far the best Airbnb we have stayed in. The cabin is in a great location, clean and tidy with everything you need. Marlene and Tony were there if we needed them and thought of everything for our stay. Even a bottle of bubbly for NYE. It's on our list to stay again in the near future.

    Jamie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The wooden cabin is a magical and private place to spend Christmas/New Years, the whole place was lit so beautifully when we arrived and saw the landscaper lake and grounds. Spotlessly clean, the kitchen is really well equipped and we were able to cook complete meals. The wood burning stove is a great touch and really made it cosy. Marlene went out of her way to accommodate us when we had to change dates and brought along an unexpected guest (our new pup) - very much appreciated. Highly recommend!

  • Such a fantastic property in a stunning location. Very clean, great amenities (wi-fi, tv, sound-system all amazing). Jethro was a great host who greeted us on arrival, left us to it and was helpful when we asked for tips. We’ll be returning next year for sure - everything you want from a cabin getaway.

  • Cosy cabin with everything you need, lovely views , clean and comfortable. Fantastic value and friendly host.

    Lisa2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a really stylish little cabin. My husband and I stayed with our toddler and baby. Particular highlights were the woodburner with plenty of wood to burn, nice heavy duvets, interesting antique furniture, well stocked kitchen, background noise of the river and birds and a local cat that the toddler was fascinated by. Would like to come in warmer weather to enjoy the veranda more. Many thanks !

    Eleanore2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Just wow....what I was expecting and more. Bit of a crazy dirt track ride down to the cabin but all adds to the excitement of being away from everything. Jethro has lit the fire fir our welcome so as we arrived we saw smoke plumes coming from the top of the cabin ..so cosy..the sort if place youd want to visit all seasons to see the changes. Sitting on the veranda forgetting the world was just perfect. 30/40 min drive to the coast if your a nature lover like me and need to see the see as well as a trundle through woods. We visited fishguard, newport & tenby.

    Amanda2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stunning cabin in a remote part of Wales where you can just unwind and take in the views and sounds. The balcony makes this place truly special, because you can enjoy the surroundings whatever the weather. The kitchen is well equipped with all the necessary equipment. We will definitely be back.

  • Very nice relaxing stay

    Shaun2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location is quite and nice! Very cosy wood fire. The bed is not very comfortable. Is a sofa bed. We moved the mattress to the floor, which was ok for two days. But, not sure if I could sleep on the floor for more nights. Ross is a very friendly and helpful host. I would really recommend this little pad for a get away from the noisy cities or as a romantic weekend away.

Rustic 300 year old farmhouse cottage in remote private Victorian country estate, Carmarthenshire, south west Wales. Large kitchen, lounge with sofa bed and woodburner, leading to conservatory with views across the valley, bathroom, one bedroom, private garden area.
There is a large farmhouse kitchen with Electric cooker with oven and fridge with freezer, together with microwave etc. The kitchen stable door opens out onto the back garden. The main bedroom is along the landing a double bed and ample cupboard space plus original oak shutters; next along is the main bathroom with sink, WC and shower/bath and fitted airing cupboards The lounge has a sofa-bed that sleeps one/two, a TV and sofa, some chairs, and the conservatory entrance. It features original shutters and several antique stained glass windows, reclaimed doors plus stand-alone antique furniture pieces. The conservatory is seated along both sides and opens out onto the garden at the rear, which in turn is surrounded by fields (with occasional sheep wandering around). The listing has been altered from April 2019, with the addition of the wood-burning stove plus improvements to the kitchen facilities, and overall decoration. It is now all on one floor, and accommodates fewer people but to a higher standard! There is oil- fired central heating, plus the new woodburner in the sitting room. There are many original features in this unique property, built in 1738, including a large stone archway between the living room and the conservatory, beautiful oak A-frames, shutters. There are also double-glazed conservation roof windows in every room. The farmhouse looks out onto the Dolwilym Estate situated in the river Tâf valley. The mansion plus the various converted buildings are the only properties in this splendidly secluded valley. Our only neighbours are bats, owls, woodpeckers, herons, foxes, badgers etc. There are many ancient and beautiful trees . . oak, ash, beech, etc plus many rhododendrons, azaleas, bluebells and daffodils. Given that there is no light or sound pollution here, on a clear night, shooting stars are commonplace, visible in amongst the multiple layers of stars and this can be truly magical, especially when the only sounds are owls hooting amongst the trees. Dolwilym was the one-time home of the Garrick acting family who referred to it as their 'Happy Valley'. It has been my home for over 30 years.
The most extra-ordinary thing about the Dolwilym estate is its location. Dolwilym Farm is at the top of the estate, and has been converted from 300 + year old outbuildings into several gorgeous living spaces. A little further down the track is a recording studio coupled with a log cabin which is used as residential commercial studio. Further down the track still are the main houses, consisting of two converted outbuildings, the original mansion kitchen (the mansion itself has been knocked down), a coach house, a stable, a chicken shed, a pigsty, and an outdoor swimming pool and garden. Following the track around you will see the original walled garden, this is also viewable from the cottage. The track then loops around and goes back up to the top where St Cledwyn's church is situated. All of this land is private, and all properties face down Dolwilym valley towards the river Taf. There are Tescos in both Haverfordwest and Carmarthen about 30mins away. Tescos will also deliver. There is a local shop and garage that serves fish & chips roughly 5 mins drive away. The nearest pub (Peny Bont) is 12mins walk in Llanglydwen. The Market town of Narberth is 15 minutes down the road with various trendy restaurants and shops and pubs. Tenby, Saundersfoot, Pembroke and Manorbier are just a few gorgeous tourist locations to visit with castles and beaches a-plenty on the Pembrokeshre coastline. Heading up to Cardiganshire there is Cardigan, Mwnt, St Dogmaels, Newport, Fishguard again featuring castles, beaches, churches, chapels, coastal walks, and a plethora of other stunning places of natural beauty and wildlife. Many of the local towns have a lively night life, with pubs, music venues, restaurants, hotels and clubs all catering to tourists out to enjoy the local culture. For sporty types the local area is good for: fishing, canoeing, swimming, diving, snorkeling, horse riding, surfing, golf, off-road motoring, cycling, running, hiking, sailing, etc. The Preseli mountains are as steeped in local history as the Dolwilym Estate, and are a stonesthrow away. There are a host of iron age forts across the mountains, including Foel Drigarn just outside Crymych, and Castell Henllys in Newport, which is a tourist friendly site. Just outside Pembroke you will also find unusual places such as Bosherston lily ponds, leading onto Barafundle beach, which is a lovely walk through the ponds to this beautiful sandy beach, listed as one of the ten top beaches in the UK. Further along the coast is Manorbier castle, which is the location used to film the original TV series of Narnia (The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe), also popular with surfers! Tenby (little England in Wales) is a picturesque period town 18 miles from Dolwilym, with glorious beaches, a castle, endless tourist attractions, pubs, restaurants, boat trips to Caldey Island to see the monastery, plus much more. The Witch's Cauldron can be found in Cardiganshire in the other direction, accassible via the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, it is an axtra-ordinary blow hole in the cliff side frequented by seals, and the occasional porpoise... Newport is a short distance from Dolwilym and is another attractive period seaside town with great pubs and restaurants, a small castle, a golf club, and fantastic walks.
  • Had a great little winter break here. Lovely spot, really quiet, beautiful and close to lots of great walking (Hills, rivers and coast). The place itself is really homely and has everything you need.

  • I thought the trip would be a nice little break but nothing too memorable. I was wrong and it was magical. Loved every minute, and my husband who usually complains constantly about nature, loved it too.

    Kim2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect! We wanted something cozy and quirky, and this fit this criteria exactly. The host was very accommodating - we were able to add an extra night to our booking quite late, and arrived early but were still able to access the cabin. The hot tub was spot on, and the whole site felt well cared for. A lovely getaway from the real world, with great access to South Wales and the Pembrokeshire coast. 100% would recommend.

    Diane2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with my boyfriend and we had the best time. The hot tub was great and the hosts were so helpful and prompt with responses. Loved the layout of the tiny house and was actually a lot bigger than we expected it to be. Will definitely return!

The kitchen had everything we needed to self-cater. We felt very welcome. The property was easy driving distance to the main road, but set back enough that it felt quiet and peaceful. We had a great stay, would definitely recommend.

  • The accommodation is perfect lovely sized living/ kitchen area for 2 people and our dog. Plenty of lovely walks and places to visit near by. The dog exercise area was fantastic added extra didn’t expect it to be so big Chloe loved running around in it each evening after racing. We were in the Wales for the weekend racing at the cani-x Canicross weekend at pembrey and it was so nice to have such a lovely place to stay and chill out each afternoon/ evening after racing. The cooking facilities were great and made it so easy to make meals etc each day. And the dishwasher and washing machine were great added bonuses 😊 The bed was very comfortable. The rooms were a lot bigger than they looked in the photographs.

  • The Barn was absolutely beautiful and Robert was a fantastic host. He made sure that we had everything we needed and and kept us well informed before our arrival. The Barn was very spacious but homely feeling and was absolutely spotless. The welcome pack on arrival was a really nice treat after a long journey as well, full of lots of local welsh goodies! The weekend was booked as a surprise for my Dads 50th and the whole experience of staying at the Barn really made his birthday. The location of the Barn is perfect as you really feel as though you are escaping all of the hustle of bustle of normal life. I will definitely be looking to stay here again and already can’t wait to go back!

We were extremely lucky with the weather and managed a few dry and sunny days out to Tenby and Laugharne itself. I highly recommend this cottage whether you're a couple looking to get away for a couple of nights or a big family holiday getaway . There's plenty of room! Robert is a great host and he couldn't have done more for us. Super quick with replying as well. Cheers

  • I stayed at Jon and Moira's for one night with my partner and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay in the area. Before arrival we were sent detailed directions which came in very handy. Jon met us on arrival and was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable straight away (we were also greeted by their lovely pets who were very sweet). Their house is beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed for a nice stay, including a book of useful information for our stay which was very well thought out. We had good access to parking at the property and were in a good location not too far from the town centre. We would highly recommend a stay here!

  • Jon, Moira and of course the beautiful Riley were extremely friendly and helped us to settle in well. It was extremely well located for Many Tears, the animal rescue we drove over 7 hours to visit. It was nice to get somewhere that was like a home from home. The area was very peaceful leaving us with undisturbed sleep and the shower in the morning was great, which for us is always important as were the amenities. I would highly recommend

  • A beautifully converted and tastefully decorated barn conversion with everything you could need. Lovely added bonus of a private little sitting area right outside the front door. Squishy sofas, a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. We were initially concerned that the blinds over the skylights would let in the light, like at previous places we’d stayed, and wake our baby. However, we were happy to find the blind in the bedroom was a blackout blind and the light didn’t disturb our little one at all. Although we brought our own travel cot we were happy to find one at the flat too. The accommodation was easy to find with the instructions Iola sent a few days before and there was ample space to park next to the barn. Iola and her husband were very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • A cosy yet spacious cottage perfect for our two young daughters who loved sleeping in the attic space. A great base to explore the local area. Tenby beaches are fantastic! The cottage was clean and well equipped. Even had some welsh cakes left on the table for our arrival. Thanks to Iola and family for a great holiday stay.

  • We had the most perfect stay at the barn, it was a home from home and had everything you could possibly need. Our two daughters loved the mezzanine room and were excited to go to bed every night! Iola was the most helpful host and gave us lots of tips and recommendations which helped plan some amazing day trips in the most beautiful settings. Some great memories made and a new-found love of Wales.

A private luxury cabin which sleeps two is situated in our very large rear garden in a quiet rural setting. One well behaved pet is welcome where there is an enclosed garden where it can run freely. Private parking is provided for one car. We are half a mile away from the famous Pendine beach. Laugharne where the famous poet Dylan Thomas was born is 4 miles away. We are close to the Pembrokeshire coast.
Our cabin has a very well equipped bedroom with a handmade wrought iron double bed. Oak furniture throughout. It is fully insulated and double glazed with thermostacially controlled heating so cosy and warm on a cold day and nice and cool on a hot day. The ensuite room consists of a very large shower, handbasin, toilet and a heated towel rail. We don't supply breakfast but there are tea / coffee making facilities. Our cabin also has a mini fridge/freezer and a microwave. There is free Wifi provided and a flat screen tv with a built in DVD player and free view. Bed linen and towels are provided. There is a table and chairs for two people outside the cabin.
We love living here because we live on the outskirts of the village where we have fields surrounding front and back. It is a very peaceful country setting but we are only a 10/15 minute walk away from the beautiful beach of Pendine.
  • What a beautiful cabin, everything you need, much better than some hotels we have stopped in. Lovely peaceful setting, we will definitely go back.

St Clears is a charming town with a good choice of coffee shops, a handful of pubs and restaurants. It is a small town perfectly located to explore Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. It is 4 miles to Laugharne and 9 miles to Carmarthen. Laugharne is a small town sitting on the estuary of the Taf River and offers stunning estuary walks, including the infamous Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk. There are also plenty of woodland walks and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path starts nearby. It is an ancient town steeped in history, and a popular tourist destination with many great attractions in the area. With its easy accessibility to the M4 and ferry links, it's a prime location and makes it a great base to visit Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The Boathouse, where Dylan and Caitlin lived with their children is now a heritage centre. Overlooking the estuary are the dramatic ruins of a Norman Castle, a popular visitor attraction. Laugharne is a charming sleepy town with a mixture of large Georgian houses and pretty small cottages, set amongst a good choice of cafes and restaurants, including the well known Browns Hotel. There are also a good choice of outdoor activities available in the area, ranging from horse riding, coasteering, to a variety of water sports, abseiling, orienteering, caving and gorge walking. There are many beautiful rugged beaches in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, along with the more popular coastal resorts of Pendine, Saundersfoot and Tenby. Pendine Sands as the location for numerous attempts at the land speed record, with the important history in land speed achievements from Bluebird Sunbeam & Campbell 1924, Parry Thomas and Babs in 1926 & 1927 to Guili Foresti ‘Djelmo ‘1927 and more recently Bluebird Electronic record, Guy Martin’s bicycle record and Idris Elba’s (one of the UK’s top earning actors) flying mile record. The Museum of Speed displays ‘Babs’, one of the cars that smashed the record, restored to her original glory. There is an abundance of interesting attractions locally, including Castles, historic houses and National Botanical Gardens to name a few. For the younger generation we are a short drive away from the likes of Folly Farm, Oakwood, Manor House Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Activities and Dinosaur Park to name a few. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all.
  • Really lovely house and wonderful, friendly hosts. Recently refurbished, and they did a great job. Spacious living room and kitchen downstairs with everything you could want. The two main bedrooms are very large and comfortable. Off street parking which is extremely useful in St Clears, and the hosts live next door so check-in and check-out was super easy. Highly recommended :)

Charming private room in a cosy three bedroom terrace house. Shared living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. Garden and shower room are currently a work in progress which I aim to complete asap. See @housebybettyguesthouse on Instagram if you'd like to have a look at the progress, or if you just love interiors and DIY.
The guesthouse is a relaxing place to stay with wooden flooring throughout and a rustic, earthy vibe. The spaces are all communal so you can have the option of company if you wish. The rooms are very spacious and there is a shared TV room if you'd like to sit and watch movies or just read a book on the bean bag or sofa. There is a beautiful tabby cat called Betty who lives here too, she's super cute and loves people.
Carmarthen is a beautiful town filled with things to do. Stretching from Carmarthen Bay in the south to the western Beacons and Cambrian Mountains in the north, with wondrous gardens, awe-inspiring castles, Wales’s longest beaches, and market towns brimming with local produce and independent shopping.

There was everything in the caravan for us to stay confortably inside. Our 3 years old son loved running around and watch the goats looking at him. Debbie was also kind enough to let him go fetch some fresh eggs ! Very peaceful place. Strongly recommend

We experienced an amazing attention to detail in terms of how Morris was decorated and how many items Frances and Bill had thought to include during our stay. The Hot Tub was perfect with the most amazing views of the night sky and the log burner kept us cosy all night. We had lots of privacy with the security of having the hosts near by if we were to need anything. I truly recommend visiting Morris in this beautiful location either during the winter months or summer.

  • Great hospitality, cosy and warm shepherd’s hat with many snacks and dvds. Frances Louise is a very sweet host, she took care of showing us everything at the check in.

  • Fantastic location for a total break from the business of everyday life. An escape in tthe countrysife but also near the sea. Beautiful scenery to experience and so much to explore close by. Anything you could possibly need is provided and Frances and Bill were outstanding hosts and extremely welcoming. A cosy, comfortable and very relaxing atmosphere created by all the finishing touches and decor. Marvellous few days away - would highly recommend!

  • Myself and my wife spent our honeymoon here in Morris. Frances and Bill went out of their way to make the place so comfortable and special for us, they even left us a cake and some fizz! Frances and Bill are great hosts; There when you need them, but they give space so you can enjoy everything to yourselves. Their local knowledge is also very helpful as we didn't know the area at all! - I hugely recommend the brewery/Tap room in Tenby! 10/10 - Great place to stay and chill out. Great beaches nearby, and lots to explore!

  • Frances and Bill are very warm, friendly and accommodating hosts, The shepards hut has everything you need. If you want it as a base for walking or just a space to relax in front of a camp fire, it has it all, the detail that has been put into the hut really makes it feel like a home from home. We will definately be back and will be recommending to family and friends.

    Dean2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolute gem! Frances and Bill are clearly passionate about where they live and have put so much thought and effort into sharing that with their guests. This was without doubt the most well equipped air bnb I’ve stayed in (before we came I mentioned to Frances that we would be stopping on route to buy Welsh Cakes and she baked us some!). Everything has been thought of and the attention to detail is evident throughout. Great recommendations for local things to do and see and places to eat and the location is beyond beautiful. The hut itself is well laid out with excellent amenities and many thoughtful touches. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

  • A perfect tranquil retreat but lots to do and see a short drive away, this place is perfect. This little shepherds hut has everything you could ask for and the hosts are extremely helpful and accommodating too

    Amy-Louise2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! I cannot express to you how much you must stay at Morris! The hut was gorgeous, quaint and totally out in the woods (the only thing you can hear is the stream and birds!) it was just what I needed for a bit of TLC and time to myself. Added bonus was that I could have turned up with just a spare pair of pants and nothing else as Frances had catered to every need - ample food, dvds, games, towels, bbq equipment, outdoor chairs, suncream, shower gel AND a can of G&T in the fridge (to name just a few of the things on hand) I Have already recommended you to anyone who will listen to me!

The pod is 8ft x 8ft, with its own kitchen area, supplied with cooking utensils and crockery for cooking a picnic bench and fire pit. The big Dutch barn is now the heart of the campsite site, where you will find 3 hot showers, a washing up area and composting toilets. You will be glad to know that part of your fee goes towards planting a tree to help climate change and off-set against some of your carbon footprint and since August 2018, 350 sapling trees have been planted on the farm. Hilltop Barn & Cwtch Barn are located in Taf valley field with great views, these Barns can be booked together for a family and friends getaway.

The walk is approximately 2 miles/3.2 kilometres in length and will take you uphill. Enjoy the magnificent views of the estuary, Dylan's Boathouse, the Gower, North Devon, Caldey Island and Tenby. Laugharne offers a great day out. Visit Laugharne Castle dating back to 1116 or walk the area identifying filming locations for Keeping Faith. Only 15 mins from the local beaches and local to the A40 it's the ideal place to stay to link you to the best of Carmarthenshire and Pembrolkshires best places and attractions, Big Barn cannot be a nicer place to stay on a small eco friendly site where time passes you by.

BRAND NEW AIRBNB! Weavers cottage is notably one of the oldest cottages in the historic town of Carmarthen sited on the river Towy. Carmarthen lays claim to being one of, the oldest towns in Wales. Weavers cottage is on the doorstep of the town centre. The town boasts many independent and bespoke shops, cafes and restaurants but also high street stores such as Debenhams and Marks and Spencer’s. There are various outlets such as Domino’s, KFC, Dunelm, MacDonald’s etc. We provide a permit to park in a secure Apcoa carpark directly opposite Weavers Cottage. We have taken two years to restore Weavers Cottage in a sensitive way. We have kept or restored as many of the original features as possible. The cottage has a living room which has four comfy seats but plenty of stools and cushions. There is a large television and wifi. The first staircase leads to a double bedroom. Unfortunately, we must apologise for traffic noise from this bedroom but we are currently organising secondary double glazing. There is also a twin room adjacent and also a toilet and sink on the same level. There is an additional surprise bedroom leading from the kitchen via a paddle staircase. This currently has one single bed but should further accommodation be required I am sure we can find an inflatable mattress. We don’t allow smoking in the house but there is a small back yard with table and chairs. This area is a real suntrap in the summer and always pretty with bedding plants. The kitchen is modern with microwave. There is a table that seats four but is expandable to seat another four. From Carmarthen, seaside resorts are easy to access such as Laugharne (associated with Dylan Thomas) and the beautiful beaches of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. It is great for walkers or cyclists with Brechfa Forest, Preseli’s and even the Brecon Beacons.
  • What an amazing find this extremely beautiful cottage in the middle of town with secure car parking! The finishing touches and attention to detail was superb. Local produce supplied made it extra special and at a price you would not believe. Contact with the owner was easy and keenly dedicated to giving a fab experience as if you were family. We hope to come back again.

  • Best air B&b in camarthen. Arabella couldn’t do enough for us and we wish we could have stayed for longer. Excellent location and superb accommodation. Cannot recommend enough!

    Gemma2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay Arabella’s lovely home. We were welcomed with lots of lovely local food and drink - yum yum!! The decor of the house was amazing and had everything that we needed...and more. There is a large shopping/ leisure area just 2 minutes walk away - perfect for our 3 teenage kids. We went to lovely Tenby for the day - about a 40 minute drive away. Overall a great three days away. Thanks Arabella.

  • What a gem of a place this is! So central to walk anywhere in Carmarthen and a great place to explore the area. Beautifully decorated space, great amenities and excellent value for money!

  • We had a lovely stay in this beautifully renovated cottage. From the very warm welcome from Kay the owner to the thoughtful welcome items she provided, we enjoyed it all. It was great having a kitchen to cook our own meals but as the cottage is so centrally located it is also close to restaurants and takeaways. We particularly enjoyed the curries at Cinnamon. The cottage is a calm and relaxing space, just what we needed for a weekend of studying at the university. I highly recommend Weavers Cottage and hope to be back. Thankyou again to Kay and Arabella.

  • We had a very enjoyable stay at Adrians, a lovely country retreat, and only a short drive from several lovely beaches. Laugharne was stunning and there was a good long walk that led from the castle that looped back into the village. We enjoyed our days out exploring then coming back to the cabins to cook on the Bbq or fire pit. We would recomend packing a frying pan if you want to cook things like paella, chilli or other one pan wanders. Our daughter enjoyed feeding the sheep and its worth saying hello to the 2 hand reared sheep in the field opposite. Marian and Adrian where warm and friendly hosts, we where offered freshly caught mackeral that they had caught which went down a treat. We would highly recommend staying there and we would be happy to return in the future.

    Siobhan2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This little place is a little gem. The hosts were amazing and asked if our children would like to go and see their beehives and also feed the sheep. We had a lovey time here and will definitely be back again. Thank you

  • Adrian's place is an absolute gem. The facilities were excellent. We had a great time exploring the local area. I would highly recommend Barafundle Bay and Skrinkle Haven beaches. Both were stunning. Adrian and Marion were the perfect hosts and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you!!

  • Fantastic cabins with everything you need. There is a fabulous fire pit and bbq to use to cook out and eat outside. The peace and quiet is superb! Our teenagers loved it too as it had a perfect mix and WiFi! The dog loved the garden area to run around. Marion and Adrian are superb hosts. From the moment we booked we had direct communication and. The directions we were given were easy to follow. Marion even had a cast protector she leant my daughter so she could have a shower - all the little things made the stay so perfect! Absolutely love this place and would recommend to everyone.

  • One of the nicest Airb&b places we’ve stayed in.....the two cabins were perfect for me and my husband and my sister and her husband visiting us from America. Our two little dogs loved the place too....but would have loved to run in the garden off-leash if the garden were wired/fenced off! But altogether a wonderful stay was had by all 4+2!! The Coop down the road towards St Clears was very convenient for daily needs and apart from other great eating places round South Wales, my sister and I would recommend the Elaichi restaurant....and the Amroth Arms recommended by Marion was superb! Even though we hadn’t read the instructions so we hadn’t brought towels, Marion very kindly provided us with her own.....extremely hospitable hosts.

  • Fantastic experience. Friendly hosts. Good location. Highly recommended.

    Roha2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend it to anyone that is looking to escape the city and find a perfect balance of nature and relaxation. Me and my friends enjoyed our stay and the farm was idlic for us to enjoy our bank holiday weekend. The morning sunrise view from one of the cabin was the highlight of our stay along with the wood-firing and bbq facilities. Although it says no kitchen in the list, there are all the basic needs provided there for you to cook and eat. Wished we could have stayed a little more longer ! Hidden gem in Wales! Thank you Adrian & Marion for all the help and being a great Host! xx

  • Celia was a fantastic host , she was there to greet us on arrival and had pre contacted us to know what time we would be there , she let us walk in her very large gardens and explained the views over the estuary were great at the top , she also explained about how to walk down to the beach and also checked ferry crossing times to . There were cereal yoghurts bread and milk and orange juice in the fridge which was a lovely touch . She advised of where to eat and places of interest to visit , beautiful location and we would definitely love to stay here again , great base to go off exploring the west from ,

    Elaine2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely breakfast touches, local jam and butter and a good choice of cereals plus fairtrade coffee. Plentiful outside area and the swing at the very topwas awe-some. You felt like you were flying! Thanks Celia, definitely be coming back!

  • We had a wonderful time at Celia's place. The location is superb. It has breathtaking views of the river estuary. Very close to the beach. Quite remote and offers a unique and restful stay. The facilities were just what is required. It was very clean and has all the necessary equipment for a comfortable stay. Celia provided very good and nutritious breakfast. We loved the locally baked bread it was very tasty. We used Celia's place to make short trips around the area such as the National Botanical Gardens, Dylan Thomas's shed in Laugharne, Tenby and so on. We wished our trip could have been longer as this is a beautiful area of Wales, perhaps we can visit again in the near future.

Ideally situated near the Carmarthenshire / Pembrokeshire / Ceredigion border, for easy access to the beautiful countryside & historic locations around the counties. After years of working in various countries abroad, Catherine & Kevin have returned to Llanboidy, to their beautiful home. It is full of interesting decorations picked up on their travels. An ideal location as a centre for visiting West Wales, just to relax or as a base whilst working in the area.
A 'help yourself' continental style breakfast is included in the price & provided in the bedroom. This includes cereals, bread (toast) & Jams. The room is self contained with a microwave, hob, toaster, kettle, mini fridge & tv (with built in dvd player). An ironing board & iron can be provided on request or for a small fee we can do any ironing for you. We will accept one dog with guests as long as it is well behaved & friendly towards our little dog (if they should meet).
A short journey will get you to The Pembrokeshire National Park, The Preseli Hills, Tenby, Saundersfoot, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, Pembroke, Cardigan and all surrounding areas. There is a local pub about a 2 minute walk from the property, that does good 'pub grub', unfortunately it is not always open early in the week. There is also a small shop & post office in the village.

  • We had the MOST amazing time in the Pod. It was clean, comfortable and super warm! In a great location for exploring! The host responded quickly when we were unsure how to use the heater. Really amazing experience all around. Couple of helpful tips... If you're using the hot tub in months when it gets dark quickly, bring some fairy lights. It's a little dark, so we bought fairy lights which helped! Also, bring a bath Mat! We brought towels but forgot a bath Mat it gets pretty wet otherwise Haha. Thanks for having us! We LOVED it and will be coming back <3

  • We loved our stay at the Pod, everything was perfect and the hot tub was great. Despite being a little house it didn't feel cramped at all :) Thank you!
