Amanda's place in Camden was a great find. Clean, comfortable (the bed with its heavy, warm comforter was absolutely lucious on a cold winter day!) and it had all the amenities we needed. It is centrally located in a lovely neighborhood. Amanda was very quick to respond to every question we had.

Amanda’s apartment was fantastic. We had a very spacious lounge and dining area downstairs and upstairs was the bedroom and bathroom. Both rooms had a refrigerator which was handy. We used the small, well equipped kitchen facilities to prepare a couple of breakfasts during our stay which was nice to be able to do after being in the road for 5 weeks. The apartment was very clean and very warm. A strong NorthEasterly storm came through during our visit, and while many others in Camden lost power, we did not and we remained well protected and warm. The location is excellent as it is a 5/10 minute walk to the town centre, so very handy but very quiet at night enabling great sleeps! Thanks for a great stay.

Amanda was very responsive whenever we had questions, which was great. Her place has a good amount of space to spread out in. The location, in a nice quiet neighborhood, is wonderful. It is a very easy walk into town and is perfectly situated for exploring the mid-coast area (eg Belfast, Rockport, Rockland).

I cannot reccomend this place enough! This is one of my favorite places I've stayed in through Airbnb. The location couldn't be better with the house being near the water and about a five minute walk into town. The house was spotless and had really unique character and beauty -- I loved it the moment I walked in. John was hospitable and providedus with all the information we need. I highly, highly, highly reccomend it, the value is absolutely worth it.

John was extremely hospitable and welcoming. He gave us a detailed tour of his home, had helpful notes and reminders put up, and offered advice about places to go nearby. Definitely great value, especially for the location.

What an amazing place! My new husband and I are avid campers and came here for part of our honeymoon, and if you bring all the food and water you need, it is basically glamping with all of the fun adventurous parts of camping and all of the comforts of a real bed, fridge, and stove. Waking up to the sunrise in the Love Shack, exploring the island, eating lobsters, and watching the sunset from the main cabin was incredible to say the least. We hope to come back again soon!

This is an awesome vacation spot. Bring a lot of drinking water in case the rainwater runs out. There are new types of mosquito repellent and mosquito avoiding devices that help make this stay more comfortable. Brace yourselves for very cold water. Enjoy the total immersion in nature, starry nights, birds, wild flowers and beautiful sailboats passing by. This place is truly unique!

If you’re curious about the Maine coast and have an outdoorsy, rugged, self-sufficient heart you will absolutely love Oak Island. The two buildings are perfectly cosy, and our group of four adults and three dogs had ample room to cook, sleep and hang out between the two. Multiple beaches, rocky tide pools, and trails gave us plenty to explore and our dog still is trying to recover from all the exercise. We clocked a wide variety of birds (arctic terns and loons were highlights), a couple of seals, many live sea urchins, hermit crabs, starfish (look closely at lowest tide), periwinkles, and we think a porpoise. No blackfies, but when the breeze wasnt heavy enough mosquitoes in the thickets (none at the beach). Plenty of kitchen gear, a BBQ grill, and a few propane burners to cook great meals all week. Out in the sun it was pretty hot for Maine, but in the cabins the breeze and shade kept us comfortably cool. At night, The Milkyway and 4th of July fireworks from about six different towns on the horizon lit up the sky. Rustic, off the grid island living doesn’t get much better.

Parker's island is a piece of haven. Travis, who will bring you there with his boat, is super nice and efficient and the boat ride itself is great (Travis stopped on the way to point out seals and eagles for us). The island itself is marvellous. Trails go around it and, despite the relatively small size of it, the landscape and vegetation are varied and wonderful. We were there in mid-September, it was beautiful, the temperature was conformable (even allowing a short swim in the ocean) and we had no problem with bugs or mosquitos (which I understand from other reviews are there in other times of the year). The house is basic but super comfortable. Water depends on rain and electricity on the sun, so you might not have much of those. Remember to bring candles, torches and abundant water. There is another, even nicer, house a few minutes away but we did not use it as we were only three friends. We loved every second of our (unfortunately short) stay and would love to go back in the future.

If you are an adventurer who loves exploring Maine and loves islands, Oak Island is the place for you. We were a party of five ranging from 2 years to 71. All of us enjoyed the experience. There was enough to keep us active for the entire 7 days. Bring kites and take them to the meadow, bring your suit for swimming in the different beaches. Bring your blankets and sweaters for cold nights. Bring food to grill and s’more fixings for a fire on the beach. Bring your hiking shoes for exploring all the books and crannies. Bring mosquito repellent and fly traps! Leave your stresses behind you and welcome peace, tranquility, beauty beyond measure. Bring your stories for telling, your riddles and jokes, learn to bake on the grill! Bring your radio to listen to the baseball games. Bring your wonder and marvel at the night sky. We will be back! You come too!

A great place for an extended outdoor adventure. Beautiful views and beaches all around the island. A great place to find peace and quiet.

You will be amazed at the beauty!!!!!! I went in the end of September and the weather was perfect. Warm sunny days and cool crisp nights that if you were to go outside around 2:30-3:00 in the morning, you will see the Milky Way and most likely many shooting stars. Very little city lights to hinder star gazing. You will also find walking paths throughout the island. They will take you to all sorts of hidden places with breathtaking views. No lack of scenery anywhere you look. The wrap-a-deck on the main cottage is spectacular with an 180 degree view looking north. Distant islands like, Bear, Fling, Eagle and Great Spuce Head Island can be seen very easily on fogless days. On the southern side of the island is the,"Sleeping Cabin." This is the perfect cabin for a couple. Paradise!!! On those windy days make the best of them and bring a kite. The northeastern field is a great spot for a day of kite flying. But, on still days with no wind the mosquitoes can be fierce. Absolutely bring bugs spray with DEET. It's the only thing that works. Homeopathic stuff will just not do. There is no running water. The outdoor shower runs by gravity. All water to clean dishes and drink is rain water that is collected and held in large barrels. For drinking water, I brought a filter that I could pump the water from the barrel into my water bottles. Or just buy plenty of drinking water at Hannafords supermarket in Camden. For dish washing, I boiled the water in a big lobster pot just to be on the safe side, and there is plenty of propane to do this. There is a "Privy," or outhouse on the southern side of island which is a minute walk down the path which has a wonderful view during your private time. So bring your "Bum Wad." Toilet paper that is. Barney Appleton is your way out to the island. He will pick you at, "Steamboat Landing," in Camden with his lobster boat. It has ample room for all your friends and or family and supplies. Barney is a terrific fella and a wealth of information. The island is perfect in my view. I will do it again next year or even earlier. I hope this is helpful

We had an absolutely delightful time. A trip of a lifetime. Perfect set-up for 8 people or so, and an exceptional value. Amazing 360 degree views of the island and the bay. Non stop outdoor activities for children (teens), snorkeling, fishing, swimming, and more. Highly recommend.

A beautiful place to watch the sun set over the water. Convenient to thoroughfare and North Haven. Great walking and hiking nearby. The weather was a bit chilly for a couple of days during our stay, but the wood-stove kept us toasty warm. The outdoor shower is amazing!! The cabin is charming and comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

Great place

A spectacular cottage overlooking the water from your bedroom you will not find anywhere. If a romantic getaway is what your looking for search no more. Quiet, plenty of room and a well stock kitchen with all the amenities you need to create wonderful meals looking over the water and watching the many different boats go by. A rare find.

I have stayed at a lot of Airbnbs but this cottage (and the hosts) just topped the list. We love Vinalhaven and this property made it even more special! The photos are accurate but still can't capture the full beauty or comforts. We appreciated everything from the fresh flowers on the table to welcome us to the outdoor shower after a day at the quarries. While we often like to sleep in on vacations, we enjoyed waking up earlier and being lazy in bed while we watched the lobster boats and tall ships roll by our window. Diane and Agnes are lovely as well and eager to help with anything - although because the instructions are so clear and the house is fully stocked, we found we had no questions/concerns. In short, the place and hosts are great.

The perfect Maine cottage: snug and comfortable, a serene setting, and a mesmerizing view. Waking up to the ever-changing view of the water from my bed was a dreamy way to start each day (and so was the outdoor shower.) Agnes is a kind host and we loved exploring the island. Thank you for sharing such a magical place with us!

Diane's cottage is absolutely charming and it has the most amazing views! The cottage was super clean and well equipped. The views from the bedroom and the deck are stunning, and the outside shower is a treat. Agnes welcomed us and was super helpful. She also gave us advice on what trails to hike (amazing!). We really recommend this house and will definitely return next summer.

The views are spectacular at this perfectly appointed cottage. I couldn't have asked for anything more: quiet, romantic, and quite special. The island is wonderful and has just enough if you are looking for a retreat from city life. We hiked, swam, napped, ate lobster and dined out a few times. My husband and I can't wait to return.

This house and location had everything that one would expect from a Maine vacation! A fabulous view, beautiful sunsets, and from the deck one can see Maine's wildlife at its best... osprey, bald eagles, and seals to name a few! Agnes, Diane's mother, was a fabulous host. She was warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed! The outside shower was heaven and the kitchen had every amenity one could need. We loved going into the quaint fishing village for supplies (supermarket is well stocked), meals out, and, of course, our daily run to Go Fish for penny candy and gifts when it was time to leave. We'll be back!

Kristina was a wonderful host and quick to respond to any questions we had! The home was beautiful and filled with anything you could possibly need! It was cozy and close to everything. If we are ever back in the area, we will be booking again!

This cottage is perfect. Clean, comfortable, stylish and safe! Everything we needed and more. Easy walk to shops and stores. Quiet neighborhood. All the things you could need that make you feel at home, from kitchen items and soaps to books and games!

I kind of don't want to gush about it lest it becomes hard to book later, but that's not right so here goes... Fantastic house, perfect for a family with 3 BR & 2 BA. We were just a couple so had the run of the place. We spent most of the time in the kitchen, which was *very* well equipped. The location is lovely, a short walk to center of Camden. The hot tub is a great amenity after a day of walking and hiking around. Kirstina was an ideal host. Prompt communications, we had one glitch with the hot tub and she sent someone over very quickly to get it sorted out. We will very likely be back!

John is a great host and Camden is a Jewel. Perfect location. Attention to detail in an old classic traditional New England home.

This adorable house is in the perfect location: a 5 minute walk from downtown Camden, and a 2 minute walk to a public beach. John was a lovely host and I would stay with him again! This place is ideal to experience Camden’s small-town charm.

John was very warm and welcoming. He made our stay great and we had a total of three guests stay with him. We stayed in the bedroom with a double/queen bed and two twin beds. The beds were comfortable and the fan really was great as the temperature was perfect for sleeping. The house is in an amazing location!

What a great apartment in a neighborhood with tons of character. Lovely spot near town - easy to get everywhere from here. The apartment has a great layout, clean and cozy with everything we needed. We have rented numerous places and this is a real gem. Ethan was very communicative and also gave us our privacy. Simple check in and check out. We will definitely plan a return on future visits.

We stayed for two nights during a recent holiday and the apartment was just fanatastic! Location was perfect, just a 2 min stroll to the town center with two nice coffee shops along the way. Check in was one of the easiest experiences I've had with airbnb and the room itself was clean, spacious with a very nice en-suite. I would very much recommend this to people.

Set on a quiet Camden street a block from the harbor, this early 19th Century house has three AirbnB rooms on the second floor, two of them with a shared bath. The front door opens on to a nice shared sitting room with coffee maker, some simple dinner ware and a table top fridge. The "Sunny Suite" upstairs has a handsome private bath with traditional tub/shower. The room is spacious, with a comfortable king size bed, excellent lighting and handsome antique furnishings. No TV or air conditioning, but an efficient window vent fan that keeps the room fresh and cool. To be noted: we found the wifi too weak to receive in the upstairs "Sunny Suite" but adequate in the downstairs sitting room. For guests with mobility issues or lots of baggage, the stairs to the second floor are steep and narrow. On-street parking is convenient and accessible, even on summer weekends. The location is delightfully walkable to lively and lovely downtown Camden.

The Sunny Suite was a lovely room with a large private bath. The location to downtown and Camden harbor was ideal! We walked to the harbor each morning for breakfast and on July 4 enjoyed a dinner on the harbor the found a bench by the water to enjoy fireworks with no parking hassles.

We really enjoyed our stay in the sunny suite. It was the perfect place for a quiet New England experience. The hosts were very accommodating of our schedule and they provided dished that we could use for our meals. We would recommend this place!

Great view, parking right outside the house, easy access to the center of town but far enough away to avoid any crowds. My stay was in winter, when tourist amenities are limited, so I can't comment on available activities in the area.

The back house was much better than we expected and wonderful in every way. It was comfortable, warm, really stylish, great coffee, comfy bed. It felt spacious and private but it was very close to Belfast. We relaxed and took advantage of her suggested restaurants which were excellent. The exterior of the main house gives no indication of the adorableness of the inside. Highly recommend and hope to stay there again.

We spent two nights here on a winter weekend getaway, and loved it! I would highly recommend it. The space is cozy and charming, with great amenities - the bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The Back House is a great value and offers easy access to Belfast, or other spots in the Midcoast or Downeast region.

Cozy quiet place!

The cabin is cozy and has a fantastic location; within walking distance of the center of town. The space was very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and I loved the little porch. Great stay and I would go back again!

The home is very small, but still has everything 1-2 people could need. This is a cozy comfy tiny house, which is very clean and close to Downtown Camden. I’d recommend the home to anyone passing through the area.

Wow what an adorable cottage to stay in- almost like a “tiny house”. Full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, toaster and other cooking utensils. Different kitchen condiments left to use. The bed was comfortable and very cozy. Cottage is easy to find and very close to town! Town is adorable and fun to walk around with great restaurants and breweries. Power went out in town and Margaret was quick to respond to help us figure out why and even offered to send someone over to look at our electricity (this was before we found out the power went out in the whole town). Camden is a cute, quaint small town with friendly locals. Great stay for a great price! Will come again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Margaret’s place during a Birthday / Valentine’s Day getaway. We wanted to escape from our busy life in the city for just a little bit and this turned out to be the perfect destination for just that! It was extremely cozy. Especially during the cold, winter nights. It was also very quiet and a convenient distance away from what Downtown Camden has to offer. We would definitely stay again if we’re ever back in the area!

My boyfriend and I visited Camden in February to celebrate our anniversary and we absolutely loved this cute little cabin! Perfect location, spotlessly clean and just the right size for a couple. Enjoyed hiking Mt. Battie and sightseeing in the area; grocery store and downtown very close. Highly recommend!

This house is very large and spacious. We had a great time staying here. I was only here with my wife, our daughter and our German Shepard, we had so much space. This house could easily accommodate 3 couples or more. 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths! The views from the kitchen and off the back deck are beautiful and very peaceful. Just a wonderful experience on a beautiful island in Maine.

Cozy little cabin, in a great location!

The cabin is amazing! I stayed only 3 nights, too short to explore everything around there though ;) Marci was really sweet and everything was super clean and as perfect as one could hope for. The fireplace is amazing for a cold evening :)

We had such a great time staying in this quaint cabin. Marci was so kind as to let us have our pup stay there as well! She made checking in and checking out seamless and was very accommodating and quick to respond with any questions we had. The property is beautiful and you get the best of both worlds of being hidden in the tranquil woods of Rockport Maine and only a minute drive to the ocean views! The location is close to sevices but feels secluded. Has a nice open living area and kitchen with fireplace, comfortable seating, games and a large tv. Having the in unit washer/dryer was so helpful. We enjoyed a cozy christmas in this beautiful cabin in the woods!

Maggie welcomed us like long lost friends. The loft was spacious and beautifully furnished. We communicated via text before and during the visit which was very helpful and nonintrusive. We enjoyed hikes, galleries and a variety of restaurants in our 3 day stay. I loved being able to use their kayak. We would definitely go there again.

The place really does feel like a little home away from home. It’s spacious, clean, and there is literally everything you need; from spices to board games. The host is super friendly and replies very fast. Everything worked out perfectly and we had an amazing time. Already recommend the place to a friend.

You can expect a clean, cozy and carefree atmosphere, just like home. It is easy to relax and sit around the kitchen table with coffee in the morning or spend a casual evening at the cottage with take out food from one of the many restaurants in Belfast. It is close to everything, yet very quiet at night.

Susan’s place was so convenient for walking to the Appledore ll ship for our sunset sail (reason for our visit to Camden) and downtown activities. There is a nicely stocked convenience store within 5 min walk in the historical neighborhood. And the bed has to be the most comfortable sleep I have ever experienced. David R 10/3/19

Very comfortable, quiet and private. Susan has done a nice job with the extra touches that create a cozy and relazing respite. We loved being able to walk downtown to shop, dine and explore. Will definitely return.

Spacious, second story, own entrance, two full bedrooms, beautifully furnished, double bed in one and queen in the other, big bathroom, very friendly and helpful and accommodating host. Fridge and coffee machine. Parking on the street right in front.

Susan's place is perfect. It's conveniently located a few blocks from the main street in town, you have your own private entrance and tons of privacy, the bathroom is spacious and bright and Susan is lovely! I lost my keys one of the nights of my stay and she graciously took my (very late) phone call and unlocked the door for me. Would highly reccomend!

Loved our night there. John was great in accommodating us. Had to switch nights due to a wedding. Ended up getting another room as well. Close to town. Lovely walk in with leaves changing as well. Had things for breakfast and coffee. Homemade apple and peach pie. Will be booking again just to try those. Thanks for everything.

John is a wonderful and welcoming host. His place is minutes walking distance to a beach or the downtown area with lots to see. The mattress in the room I stayed in is firm, just fyi. Oh and he made peach pie and shared apples from his own fruit trees which were yummy! Would stay again.

Carrie was the most amazing host I have ever encountered on Airbnb. We were traveling was five kids and she had amazing recommendations for family activities that would captivate the entire crowd. She was extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area and offered excellent suggestions from food to activities that led to wonderful memories for our family! Additionally, Carrie checked up on throughout our stay to make sure we were taken care of. Upon arrival, she provided a thoughtful handwritten note and additional contact information should anything come up during our stay. I cannot speak more highly of Carrie. The home is cute and was a great location for all of our ventures. It is a dog friendly home and I believe a dog lives in the home when it is not occupied with folks from Airbnb. That is clearly explained in the description. A great stay!

A wonderful week at a very comfortable and charming country rental. A beautiful setting, off the main road (quiet), with great bird watching. Carrie put so much thought into making us feel welcome (fresh linens, soft towels, suggestions to local haunts, kayaks). The kitchen was even stocked with supplies for a yummy country breakfast! Communication is amazing with these extremely considerate hosts. Fully stocked kitchen, small patio, plenty of space to spread out (family of 5). Rent this home!

A bright, sparkling place to stay with a walk to town that offers the best views. Highly recommended!

We had a really wonderful time in Donte‘s house. Everything was so tastefully furnished and equipped with inspiring books and broschures. The location is just to be called great. Within easy walking distance from the town Centre and harbour but really off any noisy crowdedness of such a touristic hot spot as Camden. We liked it to sit in the front yard for a coffee in the morning - hope that didn‘t anoyed Donte’s neighbors.... We definitely recommend and would be glad to stay here again when getting back to Camden again.

A quick walk through neighborhood to the center of downtown Camden and waterfront activities. A lovely place with a very comfortable bed! I recommend this for couples or a single person looking for a home base for trip to the Camden area. Very good location and quick communication.

Donte's place is in a lovely location, minutes from the beach. The place is clean just as you see on the pictures. We had a great time.

This is a truly wonderful place to stay in an incredible corner of the world. We loved this space! The house is 19th century charming, incredibly stylish, cozy, and pleasingly modern in what it offers in the way of comforts. We walked to dinner and shopping and strolled the neighborhood streets enjoying the rich architectural history and views of Camden bay. The location couldn’t be more perfect... quiet and just a short walk to all we needed. Donte was a most generous and kind host who gladly helped us find incredible dining, great art galleries, museums, and scenic drives.

Very well appointed, exceptionally clean, and welcoming. Donte was tremendously accommodating and would highly recommend her property. If you have a child, the proximity to the beach and park or lovely.

Unique Maine experience in a beautiful setting!

This tiny house is much bigger than you would think. The bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom were perfect for the two of us! Lots of room to move around, and very comfortable.

Our second stay at Evelyn’s place was just as comfortable as was our first. It is exceptionally clean and cozy, and located in close proximity to a lovely nature preserve - very convenient for someone travelling with dogs. Will certainly stay here again if I happen to travel through this part of Maine.

We had originally booked James' place for 2 nights as we weren't sure what to expect since this was our first time visiting Maine's coastal areas. We absolutely loved the area, the room, the atmosphere and friendliness so much that we decided to stay an extra 2 days with a very easy arrangement for the additional 2 days. Would def stay again and have recommended to friends!

We had an excellent stay at The Lodge. We especially loved having trail access right outside the door! The room was very clean, the bed was exceedingly comfortable, and the views were great. The WiFi was unreliable, but we were there to relax and unplug anyhow. Very friendly staff, highly recommend!

A quaint cottage close to downtown Camden and an amazing mountain view via Mt Battie.

Beautiful cottage with full equiped kitchen, fireplace, private terrace with oceanview. There was tea & coffee and a refridgerator with a large bag of icecubes. The kingbed and linnen were extremely comfortable and the bathtowels thick and large. The location was perfect for visiting Camden or Rockland. We will definitely return if we will be in the area.

A very cozy home away from home. We stayed a week and this place exceeds expectations. Very clean with all the amenities. Nicely decorated and comfortable. There is a lot of attention to detail. Alana was very responsive to quickly answer questions. I highly recommend this place.

This is a comfy apartment. We stayed a long weekend and I was able to cook two full meals using the kitchen and we did our laundry in with the provided washer/dryer. The apartment is nice and warm in the wintertime. It has a spacious bathroom with a big shower. It's right off Route 1, easy to find but quiet and secluded. It's a quick walk to the footbridge into the Belfast Riverwalk along the harbor and into downtown. Alana is a great, responsive host and the place was clean and well appointed.

We had a wonderful stay. This was a nice change for our usual stay in a hotel when we visit Camden. The house was fully equipped with everything you need to live day-to-day, very clean and up to date interior design and super comfortable king-sized bed with great bedding! Ana Luisa and family and neighbors were very welcoming and friendly!

Stayed for two nights. We rented the main house and cottage since it was more than 10 of us. It allowed for some privacy but also was convenient to get together. Lots of space. The only issue is the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything that the people upstairs are doing. Host was friendly and responded to texts quickly. Main house was renovated nicely, beautiful bathrooms and rooms. Kitchen is big and spacious. Wish it wasn’t so cold so we could take advantage of the back porch which had a grill. Would return.

The house was a great location to explore Camden. It was just around the bay from the shops, maybe a 7 minute walk. This is a two story house, with this apartment on the ground floor. The street parking was easy during our stay in October. The apartment is nicely appointed, spacious, and has a great historic feel. The beds were super comfortable. The house was very clean. Ana Luisa was very responsive to a request and made the stay easy. Would stay again.

Beautiful house and great location. Upstairs tenants were quite loud and woke us up both days by stomping around all morning. We informed Ana Luisa, and she bought us breakfast, which was a nice touch.

The greatness of Airbnb is that it's possible to stay at such terrific apartments for less than a hotel and to also meet interesting and gracious people like Fred & Nud.

I would highly recommend Fred’s place as it is close to all the local attractions, easy to find, and yet nicely secluded for a peaceful stay. Fred was an amazing host with tons of knowledge and really amazing hospitality that you just don’t find anywhere. Everything was sparkling clean and beautiful, will definitely be back for another stay!

Fred & Nud are such warm and wonderful hosts of a beautiful space, which is even more amazing than the photos. We instantly felt right at home, but also enjoyed luxuries (i.e. all of the beautiful stonework, the amazing walk-in shower) you couldn't normally find at a hotel. We would love to come back again and highly recommend The Granite Chateau to anyone who has a chance to visit.

There are many reasons to stay here. The location is prime, close to the beach and down town. The place has a modern Hobbit hole vibe, very beautiful and unique. Fred is also an amazing host, he's very welcoming and offers really great suggestions on things to do or places to eat. He's also one of the kindest people I've met.

If you are staying in the Rockland area, you MUST stay at the Granite Chateau! Fred's gorgeous home in Owl's Head is a work of art, and Fred and Nud are the warmest and most accommodating hosts you will ever meet. If you are there in the winter months, even your feet will be toasty from the radiant heating under the floor! We can't recommend this sanctuary enough and look forward to our next visit.
