Walks along country lanes to unwind and relax straight from the doorstep. Price is per guest
My cosy stone cottage has a woodburner but also electric heating for those who are unsure. There is a double bed on mezzanine area but 2 can squeeze in the ground floor sofa bed if needed. there is a kitchenette with beverages available and microwave to use for snacks. Electric heating and hot water ,bedlinen and towels are inclusive in the price. The woodburner will be made up ready to light for your convenience and the remainder of the full bag will be stacked by it. This, and further bags, can be purchased at cost from myself or from the local garage (currently £5 per bag and enough for the night)
My cottage is situated within the rolling green countryside of Carmarthenshire, 1 mile from the village of Peniel with its garage and shop, and 3 miles from Carmarthen town , the oldest town in Wales. • We had such a lovely time at Nicola’s place! The cottage was so lovely and cosy! Nicola had the fire going for our arrival so it was nice and warm. She was so helpful with loads of knowledge on local things to do and gave us fab recommendations for events going on. Nicola is so friendly and approachable and was there straight away if we needed anything! The cottage was completely renovated by herself and had loads of nice little touches to make it so homely. Honestly I was blown away by her skills in carpentry! We love sight seeing and we managed to see so much in one day! We went to llansteffan castle first which had a gorgeous beach and stunning views from the castle. We stopped for tea in a little cafe and sat outside soaking in the sun. We then went to tally abbey and were awestruck by the magnitude of the ruins. From there we went to dryslwyn castle and Payton’s tower which again gave us the opportunity to take in the stunning views of the countryside. We then had a quick stop off in camarthen town to see the castle and have a quick nose about the shops before heading back to the cottage for a lovely cosy night in front of the fire. Overall we had such a fabulous time! We will definitely be returning to complete our tour of historical sites that we didn’t manage to do on the Sunday due to the storm. Which is fab as it gives us the opportunity to stay with Nicola in her beautiful cottage again and get to play with her stunning dogs!

  • Amazing eco roundhouse, very inspiring and calming space. New mattress and wooden crafted bed was lovely to sleep on for the two nights, will definitely be booking again for a longer stay. 5*!

  • We didn’t actually with Ross as storm Dennis made the prospect of travelling too dangerous and we cancelled last minute. Ross kindly agreed to allow us to re-book another time with one night for free. Thanks Ross

  • Had the most wonderful stay in the most wonderful little house with an incredible atmosphere, really didn’t want to leave!!! Ross has been great and super helpful 🙏

  • Very nice relaxing stay

    Shaun2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location is quite and nice! Very cosy wood fire. The bed is not very comfortable. Is a sofa bed. We moved the mattress to the floor, which was ok for two days. But, not sure if I could sleep on the floor for more nights. Ross is a very friendly and helpful host. I would really recommend this little pad for a get away from the noisy cities or as a romantic weekend away.

Red Kite Cottage is a small traditional farm house thought to date back to the late 18th century. It has recently been renovated with a new kitchen and modern facilities but maintaining traditional features such as exposed beams, terracotta floor tiles and a woodburning stove. (If this cottage is not available for the dates that you require we have another property on the same site, feel free to try this one if you like -https://www.airbnb.co.uk/25838043)

A new TV with built in DVD player is provided. Wifi is available and free (please note that because of the rural location, broadband speed is not super fast, it's fine for web browsing, social media, emails etc but may not be sufficient for video streaming etc. Mobile signal can also be patchy, but is much improved by connecting through the internet. Bedroom 1 can be set as twin beds or one super king size. Bedroom 2 can be set up as twin beds or one king size. Just let us know in advance how you would like the beds configured. There is a travel cot available if required (please request in advance). Please note the shower room does not contain a bath. A BBQ is also available.
The cottage is located in a rural farming area adjacent to a quiet country road. The road is used lightly by some local traffic but mainly tractors. So please be aware that there may be a little road noise.

It’s in a very quiet spot of South Wales which did mean some travelling but we went to 2 different beaches, Narberth and Blue Lagoon In 4 days, so made the most of what the weather gave us! The cottage was great, very clean and with all the amenities we needed. We also got to meet the horses!

Newly converted barn, welcoming, spacious, comfortable and full of light has great walking, road and mountain biking and horse riding on the doorstep. A perfect base for exploring the hills, beaches, towns and villages of west Wales. Sleeps five - one king size bed (on mezzanine), one single, one set of bunks with full-sized mattresses. Self catering - brand new kitchen. Breakfasts bookable ahead.
Guests have their own space and access and as much privacy as they want. But should you need advice or help then we live close by and are really happy to help you make the most of your visit. So please feel free to ask.
We have friendly neighbours, great views, and a lot of sheep, cows, and wildlife. The valley is a quiet one but definitely alive with working forestry and farms around. We regularly walk and bike (mountain and road) and horse ride in the forests and quiet roads around the house and further afield. There are highly rated mountain bike trails in Brechfa forest close by. It is an area where you will hear lots of Welsh being spoken. You will also meet other people who have moved in to live here from elsewhere. There is good local produce and some very good places to eat it. The neighbouring village of Brechfa has a very good community shop. We can see the sea from the top of a nearby hill and local beaches are well worth the drive - you may even find you have them to yourselves when you get there - perfect for an evening picnic.
  • We had a great new years at Rosie and Dominic's property in Brechfa. They were welcoming and accommodating. The property was comfortable and modern, and the scenery and nearby walks (maps provided for easy navigation) were very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend to others!

  • Rosie and Dominic were incredibly kind and attentive when we stayed. They kindly accommodated our dog and let us stay an extra day. The barn is perfect - everything has been thought of, there was even fresh bread and jam and butter provided for us (delicious). The space in the barn is wonderful, there are lots of games and everything is modern and clean. The shower is fab! And the warm room is perfect for drying things off. There are some really beautiful walks nearby. We loved our stay so much and we would definitely stay again. Thanks so much guys!

  • Rosie and Dominic made us feel very welcome. We were on a mountain biking trip to the trails at Brechfa and the accommodation was ideally placed, just a ten minute drive to the trail head. I loved the clean and stylish finish to the barn accommodation and the addition of an effective drying room is very useful to mountain bikers coming off the trails. Quiet, clean, warm and stylish - thats all the boxes ticked for me...

    Simon2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is fantastic and had everything we needed. It was warm, very comfortable, great shower, wifi, washing machine, etc. The location is stunning - beautiful views and access to some great cycling. We explored the area well over the weekend and were blown away by the variety of cycling and quiet roads. Rosie and Dominic looked after us well and made us feel very at home. We'll definitely be back!

Yr Hafan is a converted barn having been recently refurbished and delightfully decorated and furnished to a high modern standard. All rooms are light, airy and very well equiped as we have endeavoured to provide all that is necessary for a relaxing stay. Surrounded by fields, you will find the cottage a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of life whilst also offering you the choice of exploring Wales in all directions. Perfect for families, couples, business travellers and pets.
We may be biased, but we'd certainly enjoy staying in Yr Hafan. No street lights, no noise apart from the odd tractor, the bleat of a lamb or moo of a cow and beautiful scenery, it is certainly a place to unwind. The cottage itself is well appointed and tastefully decorated, some rooms with local handicrafts, and extremely comfortable with previous guests telling us that they've had the best night's sleep in ages whilst staying with us. We like to think that we've thought of most things to make your stay easy with towels, tea, coffee and sugar provided and the kitchen and bedroom 2 having the benefit of USB charging sockets. Additional extras are also provided such as beach chairs and buckets and spades - hopefully this gives you an idea as to how well spec'd the cottage is. Certainly it's a good place to base yourself too. Within an hour drive you can visit a multitude of castles, beaches (closest beach is 35mins), walk superb coastal walks and numerous historical towns. On top of this there are a plethora of family friendly places to visit, both educational or just for fun ranging from animal or theme parks, museums or gold mines and caves, dolphin watching or even climbing a mountain.
What is there not to do locally - sandy beaches, rock pools, sand dunes, waterfalls, woodland walks, coastal walks, river walks, gold mining, cave exploring, dolphin watching, white water swimming, canoeing, sea kayaking, surfing, exploring castles, botanical gardens, climbing a mountain to name but a few. Or you could just simply kick back and relax and enjoy a slower pace of life and take it as it comes, enjoying a glass of wine on the private patio overlooking fields as far as you can see, snuggling up in front of the wood burner with a takeaway or lighting the patio chiminea and watching the stars at night.
  • Nice and quiet location.

    Katarina2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We (party of 3 adults) stayed at this fabulous cottage for 3 nights. It was squeaky clean and extremely well equipped, you literally don’t need to bring anything with you. It was the perfect base for travelling around South Wales, The Pembrokeshire Coast, Tenby, The Mumbles, The Brecon Beacons and many more. Beverley and Jason were indeed ‘super hosts’ they gave us loads of great advice and ideas of where to go and where to avoid, good places to eat and the best beaches in the area. 100% recommend this place to stay, just wished we could’ve stayed longer than our 3 nights. There’s so much to see and do in this part of the country, you could easily stay here for a week and still not get to see everything. Stay here once and you will definitely want to come back.

    Sandra2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • House is in a beautiful rural location with the stunning welsh countryside on the doorstep. It is perfect as a base to explore this part of Wales, as nothing is too far and here are local walks and nature around the house. We found it very clean and well catered, not wanting for anything. Booking and communication was great and the kids enjoyed the stay - wanting to come back in the summer to play in the garden. Highly recommend

  • Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a break away, very peaceful, nice and secluded with very comfy beds. We were able to check in at 1 (2 hours early) which was very appreciated. We met Beverley and her family later in the evening and they were so welcoming, couldn't have asked for better hosts, really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much to ask. Ideal spot to explore so much of Wales and the beautiful beaches. 10/10 recommend!

  • Lovely place, lovely host, couldn't have asked for anything else. Thank you.

  • My partner and I were looking for an escape from our daily routine and The Nook provided the perfect location for this. We were able to explore South Wales with The Nook as a great base. As we were on a budget The Nook was idea, as we were able to cook our own meals and pack lunches for our daily adventures. Our holiday was about spending quality time together and Charaka respected our privacy and gave us space but was always on-hand, to answer any questions or give recommendations of places to visit in the area.

    Tamara2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little Airbnb in the Welsh countryside but easy to get to Carmarthen and other towns near by. The accommodation was absolutely immaculate, and very good use of the space. Everything you needed was provided. Nice little outside area to sit and read or take in the country air. Charaka was a great host, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Just to note for other Airbnbers that there is NO signal for internet or phone.

    Sarah2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Charaka was a great host with good hospitality. Enjoyed the conversations with Charaka about temples etc. No problem during check-in and out, easy to find (clear directions provided). The Nook is a small and cozy place for 2 as described with beautiful surroundings. Its very close to Skanda Vale (10 min) and close to Carmarthen (15 min) with access to supermarkets etc. Phone signals may be tricky - EE and 3 works. Will stay again for sure. Definitely recommend.

Our cosy little thatched croglofft cottage in West Wales was formerly a small milking parlour and dairy. The barn has been lovingly converted into cosy, eco friendly accommodation with underfloor heating and a log stove.
Tucked away along a private track, Croglofft Cottage has been lovingly converted with environmentally friendly, natural materials. The traditional Welsh slate floor has luxurious underfloor heating fired by a low carbon log boiler. There is also a log burner in the cottage.
We're in the heart of the Teifi Valley...people love to come here to get away from it all and go walking, fishing, cycling, canoeing and visit the gorgeous beaches of Cardigan Bay. Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Club is close by and other outdoor activity organisations. There are footpaths and cycle routes. We can recommend local pubs, restaurants and cafes. Llandysul is a centre for fishing.

Relax in a unique woodland escape with breathtaking views over the Welsh countryside. Tucked away on the edge of a 20 acre smallholding and woodland in West Wales, Larkhill Tipis and Yurts offers a complete escape from the hustle and bustle of life. Our family run glamping site also prides itself as providing an eco-friendly and sustainable holiday with a focus on our guests enjoying the nature and the wildlife that surrounds it.
Unusual accommodation for the discerning traveller! Inspired by a dwelling used by the Sami people of northern Scandinavia - these nomadic people travel the cold tundra of Norway, Sweden and Finland with their reindeer herds. The Lavvu is similar to a Tipi in shape, incorporates a crown like a yurt and has a wonderfully unique cocoon-like feel to it. Sleeping 4 - Furnishings include a double bed and two singles - with colourful throws, cushions, sheepskins and rugs creating a warm ambience. With an easy to use central wood burning stove and a basket of firewood - ready and waiting for your arrival. There is a dining table and a storage chest full of blankets in case it gets a little cold during the night. The Lavvu also has a gas hob and all the cooking equipment, utensils and crockery you could need! Outside there is a private campfire area, seating and a picnic bench - perfect for a spot of outdoor cooking or roasting some marshmallows!
With stunning views of the Teifi Valley, and being in a very rural location, we overlook what was once the hub for the woollen industry in Wales - with the National Woollen Museum just 3 miles away. Good access to both the Cardigan Bay coastline (famous for its dolphins) and the Carmarthen Bay with its long sandy beaches. Castles galore (its Wales!) Activities include horse riding, canoeing, coasteering, etc.
  • Awesome spot. You won't be disappointed.

You will get everything you want and more at larkhill, with wonderful facilities and hosts, there is nothing more to ask for.

With its tall roof this yurt feels very spacious. Furnished with warm tones a cosy and homely feeling awaits you. The Bentwood yurt has a wood-burning stove which gives out plenty of heat, even in the depths of winter, and is furnished with two single beds and a double. There is a gas hob and all the cooking equipment, utensils and crockery you could need. Soft lighting, sheepskins and rugs create a comfortable and superb place to relax and unwind from the chaos that is the world today!
The Bentwood yurt, or 'oba' as it is called in its native region of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, has a wonderful sense of 'space'. It has been built on a platform, giving it an elevation which allows a fine view, and is located on the fringes of a mixed woodland. The whole campsite (and our home) is powered by alternative energy - sun, wind and water which we have been developing for the last 25 years! Available for use by all our customers is a log cabin which has a full size calor gas cooker with an oven, a cast iron Victorian cooking range, a low energy power supply for mobile phones (mobile phone reception here is good), battery charging, etc, a sink for washing up, a central table and is also furnished with sheepskins, rugs and cushions. We have a good range of books covering all aspects of nature, from insects to trees and wild flowers, as well as books on tipis and yurt and their construction, nomadic structures and rustic retreats. There are also books on walks in the area - in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire and a very good supply of flyers giving details of tourist attractions in the area. We are passionate about recycling and would ask you to use the facilities provided. All cooking equipment is supplied, i.e. pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, etc... together with a cold box (as we are 'off grid' and fridges take a constant supply of power). We will supply you with ice packs when you arrive and replace these each morning. Meals are not included in the holiday but you can cook on an open fire (a basket of firewood included per day - any more than that is £3 a basket) outside the yurt or on a barbeque. Alternatively there are several good local restaurants - menus and directions available! All you need to bring are sleeping bags, your own food, a towel for the shower and a torch. Lighting is supplied via LED lights around the crown and we also supply small rechargeable lanterns. Freshly laid eggs and honey are available (subject to availability). Also on site there are two hot showers, a tiled compost loo (praised by many of our guests!) and a bog standard flush loo! All cleaning products used are environmentally friendly, and we supply eco friendly shampoo, conditioner, soap and clothes washing products. There is a play area for children located on the edge of woodland which has been much praised by parents and children alike!
Castles galore (its Wales!) • We love the hospitality and are looking to book for the summer! This location has everything. Be sure to pack light on kitchen and bedding.

    Carolyn2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space, you get the cosiness and comfort of the yurt as well as having the beautiful outdoors right on your doorstep. We enjoyed a beer round our own private campfire and toasted marshmallows on our little stove. • Matt and Martine's place is amazing! Isolated in the middle of a wonderful farm, next to a little stream and a river-gorge! Matt was very discreet and helpful and the cottage was sparkling clean. The only thing I would mention is that WiFi connection is a bit low and mobile phone hard to connect. Ideal if you wish to disconnect yourself, tricky if you wish to work from distance. Best wishes from all three of us.

  • Wow, this property was simply amazing. Martine and Matt are fabulous hosts, attentive but not intrusive at all. What a wonderful construction this is! The Alachigh is used by a nomadic tribe, the Shahsavan, from northern Iran. Set a little apart from the rest of the campsite you will have your own tranquil private area. There is also an outdoor campfire area with table and seating. The Alachigh is eight meters in diameter and has an oak breakfast bar which allows you to soak up the stunning view across the Teifi Valley. In the centre is a wood-burning stove surrounded by a fitted fireguard. There are four single beds and one double - bedding is available at prior request at an additional charge. Sheepskins, rugs, colourful throws, pillows, cushions and soft lighting adorn the Alachigh for that extra comfort, with drapes between the beds for a little privacy. There is also a sofa bed/settee, a large coffee table/chest (which contains plenty of extra blankets), three bedside tables, a cooking area which contains a gas hob, cooking equipment and all the crockery and cutlery you could possibly want! A bigger kitchen in the log cabin is a short distance away, as are the toilet and shower facilities.

  • The cottage is lovely in a beautiful rural location. You feel like you really are in the country it was dark with no street lights and quiet, no traffic noise just the birds! We had a cheerful welcome by Nicola when we arrived. She took the time to show us everything we needed to know around the cottage. She had even thoughtfully put a pint of fresh milk in the fridge and Welsh cakes fur us. There was tea, coffee and sugar available too. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of room for a family to stay. A good size bathroom with a bath and a good shower. It has been tastefully decorated throughout. Nicola answers any messages promptly and was very friendly and we even got a Christmas gift of a bottle of wine! A super lovely host and a beautiful cottage. Would highly recommend and would love to stay again. Thank you Nicola.

Our beautiful 2 bedroomed Welsh cottage in quiet countryside giving valley views, is simply charming with a traditional mix of exposed stone and open vaulted ceilings. Nestled in the secluded Welsh countryside of Llanllawddog, near Brechfa, Danygraig Cottage is the perfect retreat for couples or a family wanting to just get away.
The cottage is a renovated barn with 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen/living area with TV & WiFi. There is a small outside seating area with table & chairs. We are in a rural area which is great for walking & cycling. There is a separate shed for keeping bicycles if needed. We are approx 6 miles from the nearest town of Carmarthen.
Our cosy cottage is well positioned just a short distance from the market town of Carmarthen and within striking distance of some great beaches and the Wales Coastal Path. Take advantage of the quiet countryside, forest walks or for the more adventurous the many mountain bike trails near the village of Brechfa? Brechfa also has a good local pub and a handy village store which is manned by volunteers. The area is rich in wildlife and is perfect for both walkers and cyclists - much of the best walking in the area is straight from your doorstep, giving easy access to the Brechfa forest.
  • Lovely cottage, lovely location and lovely hosts! Would highly recommend a stay, the cottage was spotless, the forest is right on your doorstep and the hosts are very kind & accommodating. Everything you need for a forest get away.

  • A massive thank you to Steve, Linda & family. We had such a lovely stay in their peaceful farmhouse. You were so helpful & kind bringing us a bottle of bubbly to celebrate the new year. • Steve and Linda have been fantastic hosts right from the beginning of booking to guiding us how to get there to answering our questions very promptly every time. Llwyncrychyddood Bunkhouse is a fantastic place and looks exactly like how it is in the pictures, it accommodates 15 people easily and comfortably. We thoroughly enjoyed the living space in the barn and the covered BBQ area outside. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the utensils you'd need for cooking for a very large group. The house is very well decorated and has very good touches, I personally loved the sky lights for natural lights in the bathrooms and living space in the mornings :) They have a lovely farm where we met the lovely dogs, fed the horses and enjoyed watching lil lambs run around. All in all I'd like to say that our bank holiday was very well spent here with Steve and Linda's hospitality and wouldn't hesitate to come back in future. This place is best for large groups to spend great time together and bond. Wishing Steve and Linda our best :)

  • A fabulous well equipped Cottage nestled in a sheltered valley with direct access In to Brecfa forest. A ideal location for a walking, biking or bring your horse on holiday, the later which we did. The stables, turnout paddocks and riding are excellent and the hosts could not have been more hospitable. We will definitely return! Lynn, Jen and Sandra

  • This is a beautiful location for anyone wanting a few days 'away from it all', yet is only a short drive from Carmarthen with shops, cinema etc if needed. The cottage itself is very spacious, well-equipped, and tastefully decorated. All four of us commented on how comfortable the beds were! Julie is a lovely host, friendly and welcoming. The cakes and fresh farm eggs given to us on arrival were much appreciated, thank you.

  • A perfect location, on the edge of the forest, to get away from it all! Excellent mountain biking trails are nearby and Julie and Barry were very kind in letting us clean off and store our bikes after riding. The cottage was very well presented and had everything you would need for a relaxing time away. Julie and Barry couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, very much recommended.

  • It's a beautiful, clean, tidy and spacious house off the beaten path. There's a forest at the end of the garden on one side and farm walks with friendly animals you can say hello to if you like on the other. Hosts Julie and Barry are lovely and as helpful with ideas as you want them to be.

    Alisa2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely cottage! A complete retreat (very rural!). Julie was really helpful with detailed directions, on hand as and when, and gave us a lovely welcome even though traffic meant we were almost 2 hours late! The cottage itself is great - very well equipped and large kitchen, comfortable lounge, nice garden and well sized bedrooms. Access is via a fairly rough track - we managed fine in a Ford Fiesta but I wouldn't come in a sports car. I hope we'll be back to this cottage, which is a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside and villages.

  • Really can't praise Larkhill enough! We had an amazing weekend and wish we could have stayed longer. A very cosy, relaxing and scenic place to get away from city life and enjoy the outdoors. The Yurt was lovely and warm, furnished beautifully and equipped with everything you need inside including cooking equipment, utensils and a basket of logs for the wood burner, which Fran kindly lit for us. There were even freshly laid eggs available in the morning! Outside is beautiful woodlands with lots of mystical carvings and fairy lights to light the pathways leading to the toilets, shower and lovely communal cabin. We enjoyed sitting round our campfire for hours. I could write a lot more about how wonderful this place is... We will definitely be returning soon and hopefully for a longer period of time! Thanks again! xx
