Roybal Ranch is a gated property that is just off of the main road, offering a quiet setting. Come relax in this cozy upstairs space in beautiful Northern New Mexico! Enjoy the mountains, enjoy the scenery! This area has plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, rafting, geocaching, camping, skiing and snowboarding and is just off of the famous High Road toTaos. We are located an hour away from Santa Fe and a scenic 30 minutes from Taos.
There are two bedrooms in this upstairs apartment along with a futon in the living room. Wifi, basic satellite tv, and some board games are provided. Please note there is no kitchen or cooking space, but there is a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig machine available. Upon arriving, you will find a small complimentary goody basket (keurig pods one per person per day, and a combo of candy, chips, granola bars, sodas, ect.)
There are no grocery stores in town. Taos would be the closest area (just to keep in mind if you want certain foods or snacks). We do have a Family Dollar store along with a locally owned general store as well as a few restaurants and gas stations in town. We live in a quiet part of town and a wonderful area for star gazing!
  • Great place! Perfect for what we needed. Would definitely stay again and hope to soon!

  • Awesome place and great host! Definitely a great place to stay!

  • The pictures don’t do this place justice. It is very well kept & the bedrooms are huge! A serene location with a quick 15-20 minute drive to Sipapu, is exactly what we wanted.

  • Thanks!

  • This place was wonderful, took a guys weekend trip to go skiing at Sipapu. We arrived right where it said it was. (Google Maps) It’s nice and spacious and when you walk in you feel right at home. There was nice touches like snacks and water, each room as it’s own Keurig, which is nice so early risers don’t disrupt others. I stayed in the bed adjacent to the bathroom, the bed was super comfortable and bedding was nice. This place was great will definitely be staying here again! Thanks Andrew and Justina!

  • By far one of the best AirBnBs I’ve ever stayed at. The communication and hospitality from the owners are five star.

    Jon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, very accessible to all the local ski resorts

    Dalton2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We used “The Ranch” for a ski trip to Sipapu and the whole family had a great time. Helpful tips like the local Sugar Nymphs restaurant were great (fantastic pizza) and great rates. My youngest loved feeding the cat and I loved the price.

Here is your chance to experience Tiny Living. We welcome you at this beautiful home-base ideal for skiing, hiking, fishing, painting and enjoying Taos' beauty. This space was a labor of love from a very close friend and we are so exited to share this little bit of paradise with you. Visiting our B&B will also allow you to travel to France - off sorts, as Jah - our permanent French cook, offers as an option to try real homemade Croissants, Jams and Beverages for a relaxed at home breakfast!
Taos has a magical quality. Its rugged beauty, majestic mountains, wild Rio Grande river and unique blend of cultures. There's no rat race here; a fair share of non-mainstreamers have made this laid-back, low-key mecca their home and so did we when we decided to make it our part time home. We bought this beautiful Tiny home from a very talented local artist who built and designed this home himself, using new and recycled eco-friendly materials. The natural materials make this tiny house cozy and warm. With 10 ft ceilings and many windows the space is surprisingly spacious. The Kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans to prepare meals and towels are provided too.
  • A super cute place with helpful hosts!

  • From Justin, my boyfriend. 'We both liked the space. I'm 6'3 and the space was very comfortable for my girlfriend and I.' I really wanted to check out a tiny home and this satisfied me! Wonderfully designed! -Annette

The Taos Cool Bus (Tilly) used to deliver ice cream treats all over Taos. She was a popular fixture among kids of all ages. Sadly, Tilly had to retire in 2013. It is with great joy then, that Tilly has "reincarnated" as a unique Airbnb rental. 100% off-grid, she is powered by solar and wood. She even has a portable flush toilet! Tilly's resting place boasts amazing sunset views and tons of tranquility for guests who want to have an authentic, off-grid, Taos hippy experience.
Tilly is an authentic, converted hippy bus. There is no electricity but she comes with a solar phone/laptop charger, solar-powered lights, an outdoor grill and charcoals for cooking. Inside there's a woodstove (with a hot water reservoir) for warmth and cooking. The "bathroom" is outside and consists of a private, enclosed, portable toilet and a solar shower (if you aren't familiar with a solar shower, please look it up so that you understand their limits). Your experience in the bus is more like camping than staying in a motel and we've priced it accordingly--less expensive than many campgrounds but with more privacy and amenities. Plus, there's no set-up to do, it's in a beautiful setting, is very cozy, and the sunsets and views are amazing!
Tilly is located within walking distance of a post office, the historic Ranchos Church and the historic Ranchos Plaza. Also within walking distance (1/2 mile) are the Ranchos Grill, Oh My Garden restaurant, Old Martina's Hall bar and restaurant and a few galleries.
  • This place is sooo cute. I will definitely be coming back. Perfect little spot to enjoy nature. The host Kelly is very attentive to your needs. Checking in and out was so simple.

    Jennifer2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The value for this unique experience can't be beat. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Tilly, as it had been unlike any other place I have stayed before. Tilly was exactly as I had expected and in a nice, quiet location. Thank you to Kelly for allowing me to add Tilly to my first New Mexico experience!

    Shane2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fun and funky place to stay! Nice views, very cozy and totally unique!

    Nancy2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! If you are looking for the hippie experience, Tilly the bus is the way to do it. Great location just t the south of Taos and the drive into town is absolutely gorgeous with the mountains in the backdrop. Kelly was great to provide us with everything that we could possibly need. Even setting us up with firewood in the wood stove in the bus. Thanks again!

    Angel2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The bus is a cozy spot for a night in Taos. A quick ride from historic downtown it’s the perfect place to sleep in the outdoors without camping. The fire pit was a great bonus! I even got dog and cat snuggles which is my fav! Kelly was very responsive. The bus has cots which were great. I used my bed roll on it and slept soundly. It’s a gorgeous spot to wake up and start your day!

    AmyLynn2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly & Teddy are super awesome folk with an awesome spot there just on the outskirts of town, it's absolutely, I will be staying there again next time thru!!- DASHDOWN

Eclectically furnished artist/writers retreat, huge welcoming living area with wood burning stove, private bedrooms, great kitchen-gas and electric stoves. walk in shower/bath/steam room combo. light filled, quiet. amazing skies! 8,200 ft altitude.
  • This was our second stay at Paula’s place. It was just as charming and cozy as our first time, 5 months ago. She was very responsive, and helped us make arrangements for our visit. She also made sure we arrived to a warm house with the wood burning stove already lit. She sent suggestions for places we could find snow, since I had previously mentioned my kids were hoping to experience snow. We loved New Mexico in the fall! The colors were beautiful and the weather was perfect (crisp, cool but sunny).

    Amber2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Paula’s adobe casita is secluded and quiet in a rural area just off the high road to Taos. The house itself is surprisingly large once you get inside and has lots of character. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a nice free-standing fireplace. There is no central heat so be prepared in cold weather to make do with the fireplace and a couple of space heaters. The area around the house is quite scenic with horses grazing in fields and mountains in the distance. The house is within reasonable driving distance to Dixon (16 miles), Taos (28 miles), Santa Fe (53 miles) and Las Vegas, NM (66 miles). Be sure to eat at Sugar Nymphs restaurant just a short distance from the house. Zully’s in Dixon also has reliably good food. We found ourselves doing lots of driving excursions throughout the surrounding area. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back. Kudos to Paula for a great experience.

    Robert2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paula's place is a lovely gem of a historic home. Her decorating style is divine and everywhere you could comfortable, interesting spots to relax. The property is so peaceful and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset walk. A very fully equipped home, a nice fireplace, secure parking and picturesque in every way! Would totally stay here again.

    Nicky2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • A night sky unblemished by city lights, a garden that shows much love and effort, and the peace and quiet of a high alpine valley.

    Richard2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, warm, inviting, and relaxing. We've already booked for next year.

    Barb2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Paula’s place is the perfect quiet getaway spot. Her home is cozy and well-curated. The kitchen is stocked with every tool you need to make a delicious meal. The light in the sunroom is gorgeous and the couches in the den make for a comfy evening spot. The beds are perfectly firm and linens are great! Peñasco and Dixon are short drives for groceries, wineries, a few galleries and restaurants. We stayed in Paula’s home for a month and were truly sad to leave it!

    Katelyn2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Paula’s house, the house is much bigger in person and very uniquely decorated which gives it a great vibe. It’s about 30 minutes out of Taos and the drive is beautiful on the high road to Taos, lots to do in the area. The house is well appointed as far as comfort goes, and quite private whether you’re hanging out on the porch or inside the house.

Sweet studio apartment with patio and gardens on quiet dead-end street within walking distance of Taos best cafes, coffeeshops, and groceries. Pet-friendly fenced private yard and off-street parking.
Fun and efficient tiny house with new IKEA kitchen. Cozy bed space divided from open work/living space is the recipe for easy Taos living. Inviting yard for lazy summer days.
I love this quiet, safe, traffic free neighborhood. Everything I need is within walking or biking distance.

Very quiet. Enjoy your coffee and/or cocktail on the portal enchanted by the scenery and the lush gardens. Minimal light pollution at night. Ideal spot for star watching in the hot tub. Easy to find on the south side of Taos, 2 blocks east of Paseo del Pueblo Sur, I block south of the Canon Bypass leading to Angel Fire. 3 minutes from Sagebrush Inn and 5 Star burgers, 5-10 minutes from Taos Inn and Taos Plaza, depending on traffic. 5 minutes north of the Ranchos church and Old Martina's Hall.
  • Very comfortable place with lots of interesting books to check out. The hot tub was a nice plus after a long day of travel. Would definitely stay here again.

  • John was a great host and the room was very comfortable. He also provided tons of recommendations.

    Noah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • There's really nothing to add to John's already stellar reviews. If you are okay with sharing a bathroom and kitchen, John's place will be great for you. On my stay of seven days, John was away on a trip for the first four days. Entry into his house was very easy. John is a great communicator and a very pleasant and easy-going host. I did not utilize (as so many others have) any of his knowledge of the area or recommendations for things to do, as I was just there to ski for a week so my dance card was full. The skiing at Taos is great and unique, if you haven't experienced it and if you are a proficient enough skier to enjoy it. Highly recommend the "Taos Ski Week," if you're going to Taos to ski--awesome experience!

    Mark2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • John has a very lovely spot in Taos, with beautiful views of the mountains and plains from the hot tub. We'll be back, it's just a matter of time!

    Wallace2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • John has been a great host. He has made me feel like home. It has been my first experience in Airbnb and it has been beyond awesome. I highly recommend John if you want to visit Taos or skiing at Taos Ski Valley.

    Eric2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a good stay at John's house. Spacious bedroom with comfortable bed. Nice amenities including the hot tub. John provided info about Taos including good mexican restaurants to eat at. John was a gracious host.

    Ron2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • John is the absolute best! He gave us very details instructions on where to go/do and how to get there. He made us coffee in the morning and was very interesting to chat with. His backyard and hot tub were an added bonus and very beautiful. He lives about 5 minutes from town so very easy to get to everything.

    Marisa2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at John’s place for two nights while on a solo snowboarding trip. The place was as I expected from the reviews, a private entrance, cozy bed, and the great amenity of a hot tub. John and I only encountered each other in the morning as we both got ready for the day, and he was very friendly and helpful with info about the area, and in particular I really enjoyed the homemade rhubarb jam he shared with me over breakfast! The instructions he shared and tips he gives on Taos upon confirming your booking will be clear and helpful for your trip. Thank you, John!

Grandmas Ol'House is a cozy little house next to the main highway, and 10 miles from the Sipapu Ski Loge. There is also great places to go tubbing, hiking, and bike riding. There are a couple of grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations for your convenience. If you are looking for a nice peaceful getaway, then this is a great place to stay! We look forward to hosting you and your family! See you soon!
I spent a lot of time at Grandma's Ol' House when I was growing up. It's a very special place. Our goal is to make our guests as comfortable as possible.
The neighborhood is very quite and everyone is very friendly. What makes us so unique is that we love to host different families and meet new friends. Our location is central to skiing, tubing, hiking, and close to Taos, Espanola and Santa Fe. The home is also close to the highway for easy access.
  • We had a fantastic tobe staying here! The house was cozy and clean! We'll hope to stay again soon.

    Kristen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Loretta has a lovely home that was just about 15 minutes from Sipapu Ski Lodge. Plenty of linens, perfect hot water, and a very nice washer and dryer. Loretta was great at communicating quickly. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!

    Molly2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Grandma’s ol’ house was perfect after a day of skiing at Sipapu!!! We were able to cook dinner in the fully stocked kitchen and then enjoy a movie. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were soft and smelled great!! Loretta was a wonderful host, very accommodating and was available when needed. Definitely reminded me of grandma’s house!

    Jolie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • You will feel like you are home if you stay here. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is modern and is fully stocked for cooking. Also has a great oven and stove. ( and a new washer and dryer) This place must have a large capacity water heater because all 6 of us could shower and not run out of hot water. Loretta was quick with responses. There is a nice TV, WiFi, games in the closet, extra bedding. Easy 15 minutes to Sipapu Ski Resort and about a 30 minute drive to Taos. Places to hike and sled down on the way to Taos. In Penasco there is a Dollar General that is fully stocked for items you may have forgotten. And a cute Bistro Restaurant in the Penasco Theater. I highly recommend this place Oh...a large table to gather around for meals, games, laughter, and love!!!

    Suzanne2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This space was exactly as advertised. Awesome home close to Sipapu Ski Area. The host are great people.

    Jess2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to stay while my family and I went skiing over Christmas. The location was ideal - only 15 mins from Sipapu. Loretta made it so special with Christmas decorations in the yard and even a Christmas tree! If we visit Sipapu again we will most definitely stay here again.

    Becky2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Loretta’s house worked great for a family weekend in the mountains. Convenient location to Sipapu.

This little cabin is nestled in the pines with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The roads are a little rough, but this will only assure you a quite and peaceful retreat away from crowded campgrounds and congested resort areas. If you are interested in hiking or exploring, this is the perfect place, or you can simply relax and enjoy some quite solitude on the mountain. Contact host during inclement weather to check on the roads
The cabin is off grid, We do have a few solar lights and a lantern for your convenience and there is an outhouse in the back. The cabin is situated in a beautiful meadow with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. There is a wood stove to take the chill away on those cool evenings. There is no running water in the cabin, but we provide adequate water for dishes and drinking. There is plenty of water available on the property.. The small kitchen is set up with a propane stovetop, a sink and all the dishes you need for cooking a good meal. Outside you will find a fire pit to sit and enjoy the stars and roast marshmallows or make s'mores. There is an abundance of firewood to take away the chill on a cold night or barbeque outside. The cabin sits on a ranch known as Los Vallecitos. We raise grass-fed beef and lamb that is certified through AWA and market produce seasonally. Our meats and produce are available for purchase if you notify us in advance. Please keep in mind, this cabin is secluded which means it is a good drive off of the interstate. The entrance to the property is 3.5 miles up and county road and another 2 miles on a mountain road. This is a perfect spot for getting away, cell service is spotty, depending on who your provider is. Verizon seems to get the best service. On the property you will find a pond, river frontage and lots of hiking opportunities. We are a short drive to the Santa Fe National Forest for longer hikes.
We are close to the Santa Fe National Forest and the Pecos wilderness is not far if you are looking for hiking adventures. We also have a couple of locals who offer trail rides into the Santa Fe National Forest. But you need to book in advance. If you want to enjoy some of the local flavor, you can visit the Victory Ranch where they raise alpacas, The Mora Valley Spinning Mill where you can watch how worsted yarns are produced, purchase their yarns / drink a cup of coffee. Mora also has several restaurants, but we do not have a grocery store, so make sure you bring your food supplies.
  • Awesome spot for an off grid adventure. You can’t beat the views and stars. As others have commented, the road is no joke, that first hill is a steep mountain road. My tundra 4x4 did well. Carla is a great host, place was clean and she is quick to respond to all needs.

    Tracey2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My dogs and I had the greatest evening getaway! Carla was very responsive, and checked in on me to be sure I arrived ok! It is definitely set back on a windy road, but once you get there it is well worth it! Hope to come back again!

    Montana2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • There is too many good things to say about the place. The view is amazing and full of amazing small additions. Highly recommend a visit.

    Ashlee2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous rural property perfect for escaping your busy life to enjoy peace in nature. Carla was a lovely host and made sure we arrived and left safely and that we had everything we needed. She employs locals who work on the property and they were also just the kindest souls. The tiny house has just what you need and is simple in the best way. Our dog Nelly had a blast running around and so did our new puppy (he was a sweet surprise that we found on the way up). The stars were amazing and nothing beats fresh crisp air. Road is definitely rough. The leftover snow made the roads wet and VERY muddy. We were in a big jeep so it was no issue but I would not recommend driving anything without a bit of clearance and four wheel drive. We are already looking at our calendar for our next adventure back up to the tiny house! Thank you Carla!

    Olivia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fun stay here. Super remote with great views. The road going up to the cabin is no joke. Our wimpy city car got stuck in the snow before even making it to the first gate! Be sure to arrange a lift up to and from the cabin with Carla ahead of time.

    Hunter2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Complete peace and quite in a secluded little off-the-grid cabin with some breathe taking views.. no neighbors no anybody. What more could you ask for.

    Cody2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a great retreat into nature, to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Beautiful scenery, great place for walks, and the cabin had everything we needed! We stayed toasty warm too while it snowed outside!

    Jenn2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing if you want solitude, nature and to spend quality time with your family. We played in the snow, read, played board games and just hung around poking at the fire. It was great to slow down and appreciate how the light changes on the mountains throughout the day. The road is no joke, though. If you are like us and don’t have 4 wheel drive, and there is a chance of snow, I highly recommend you ask Carla to bring you and your stuff up. We got stuck and luckily Carla called her neighbor to tow us out. Thank you Carla, Rubin and Lee!

Scenic simplicity in beautiful Taos, New Mexico. Our recently converted garage-to-studio apartment features stunning views of the Taos Valley and Pueblo Peak in a private yet convenient setting. The studio's location on the south side of town is a minute away from Holy Cross Hospital, and serves as an excellent jumping off point for Taos Ski Valley (40 min.), Angel Fire (40 min.), and Sipapu Ski And Summer Resort (30 min.). Explore nearby Taos Plaza and Taos Pueblo for unique art and culture.
Understated without being rustic, this simple studio space has everything you need for a nice vacation in Northern New Mexico. Please be aware that the studio has a kitchenette. There is a refrigerator, two burner hot plate, toaster, griddle and microwave.
The southern part of Taos is one of the areas where the locals live, with quick access to downtown, the hospital, dining options and more.
  • Super cute and cozy studio that's very conveniently located to Taos and not too far from the Taos Ski Valley. The bed was comfy and everything was spotless. The host was responsive and provided great driving directions, since Google maps isn't accurate to find the location. Great worth for the cost! I would definitely recommend this place for people wanting to visit Taos or ski nearby, and also wanting a reasonable price for 1 or 2 people.

  • Great place to stay because of the location right off main road in Taos and an easy drive to Taos ski resort. The room is very nice and clean.

  • This is a great spot! The host is close and takes great care of the property. Great privacy and seclusion but also very close to town.

    Trevor2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was nice but the host was rude. I just spent my honeymoon, and husband's birthday, and Valentine's day and when we left she started making excuses to charge us more saying that she needed to charge us extra money for cleaning fees because her rug and towels got dirty which is ridiculous to us, if she doesn't want a rug to get dirty then why to put it there in the first place especially such a light colored rug. It seems she failed to provide enough cleaning supplies deliberately just to charge more, because there was no mop (well knowing that there is no road only mud). Also, There were faulty electrical plugs, If you wanna make coffee or toast bread you have to find a plug that actually works which is not even at the kitchen itself. All this after having such a happy feeling that we spent our special time together, we ended up being extremely disappointed of the bad reviews and feedback from the host and unexpected remarks. She failed to provide house rules and said to us that we had to use "common sense". I advice you future guests, take off your shoes before you enter the house if you don't want the same thing to happen to you.

    Amanda2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! The instructions for arrival we're very helpful and the place had everything we needed. Definitely a little colder than expected inside, but was comfortable for sleeping! Perfect jumping off point to explore the town or go ski!

Experience authentic Northern New Mexico living (with all the comforts of home) in your own 380 square foot adobe suite with private entrance. Enjoy authentic log Viga ceiling, Spanish tile floors, and a classic wood stove. If you feel like company, open the side door to Vera’s lovely home and she will make it feel like your own. Art and artistic vibrations fill every room. Wander the three acres that border National Park Land. Experience the true land of enchantment!
My charming adobe sits beautifully in the Ojo Sarco Valley, a great small community along the Scenic High Road. We are located roughly half way between Taos and Santa Fe, with skiing in all directions! Pets allowed! I'm a retired teacher from the area and would love to welcome you to my home! It's a beautiful spot tucked away in the valley off the main road where it's amazingly quite (except for the occasional cow). I'll make sure there's plenty of wood for your stove to accommodate for any temperature changes. I also want to offer to cook breakfast for guests, anything from my neighbor’s fresh eggs to vegan options, as it is about a 12 mile round trip drive to the nearest restaurant. I can accommodate food allergies.
Beautiful sunsets and sunrises and the peacefulness of being surrounded by NM beauty!
  • Our stay was wonderful. The hospitality was way above expectations. Will stay again!!

  • This cute adobe suite has beautiful sunrises and the night sky stargazing is spectacular. The bed was very comfortable and there were extra pillows available for us to use. The wood burning stove did a great job heating the suite up. Cozy and comfy! We loved the breakfast (especially the pancakes) that Vera made for us. She even let my brother (new to the Ojo Sarco community) come for the pancakes breakfast. Loved her hospitality!!

  • Vera's place was just right for me and my enormous GS pup. He played happily with her dog(s) and loved being adjacent to the Nat Forest where we took long snowy hikes. I especially appreciated Vera making me welcome when I showed up a day early (my confusion). Highly recommend this place.

    Nancy2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Vera's place is welcoming and warm. Vera was king enough to make breakfast every morning we stayed at her place. Best pancakes from scratch I have had in a very long time. :-)

Adobe Mtn Retreat is a warm ,cozy home nestled in a small valley high in the Rocky Mountains of Northern New Mexico.Back yard perfect for picnic, campfire, setting up your tent, or relaxing in the hammocks beside the creek. 15 miles to Sipapu with the best ski pkgs. in NM. Just 47 miles to Santa Fe and 30 miles to Taos. Both have an abundance of world class art galleries, restaurants, night life and more. Yes, we warmly invite you to come and experience the allure of your vacation getaway. WiFi.
The back yard was the main attraction for us to Adobe Mountain Retreat. The grass surrounding the creek, the bridge where we sat and dangled our bare feet in the cold mountain stream above the cutthroat trout, imagining family gatherings around the campfire. The first step through the front door said “This is your home. Welcome”. During our 7 years here we’ve done a lot of remodeling. The wood stove mesmerizes, lighting and warming the hardwood floor. The coved log ceiling beams, called vigas, reflect centuries old architecture. The quiet speaks to reflection on today, yesterday, and tomorrow, on life and purpose. The dark looks back through milleniums of time and displays an eternity of celestial bodies (starry skies). Yes, we warmly invite you to come and experience the alluring appeal of your Vacation Retreat. The 1600 sq ft make for a spacious 2 bedroom house that is wheel chair friendly. All rooms are large. The cozy, comfy living room has the wood stove with plenty of firewood. TV’s, DVD’s, and VCR’s are in both the living room and Buffalo Room The Buffalo Room also serves as an extra sleeping area. It also allows for either individual program viewing or unified family viewing. A number of family friendly movies are on hand. An HDMI cable is available to connect your own personal device. Board games are in the entertainment center in the Buffalo Room. There’s also the opportunity for wildlife viewing from the Buffalo Room and dining room windows. Many times we’ve seen elk, coyote, and birds. Humming birds are a real attraction at the feeders outside the window. The cool summer nights, the thick adobe walls, and moderate daytime highs mean air conditioning is not necessary. However, there are 4 ceiling fans and a free standing fan if necessary. A special note: bedroom 2 (with a queen bed) is accessed through master bedroom (also with a queen bed). The Buffalo Room is on the other side of the house with a double hide-a-bed and 2 single beds. Absolutely no smoking is allowed in the house. Designated outside smoking areas are provided. Gas heat and wood stove. Plenty of firewood provided. Well stocked kitchen includes; coffee maker w/ coffee, Keurig, blender, crockpot, electric skillet, mixer, food processor, toaster, citrus juicer, cake and muffin pans cookie sheets, etc. refrigerator w/ ice maker.
Neighbors are descendants of Spanish conquistadors and for the most part are friendly but like their privacy. A Family Dollar Store, 2 mom and pop stores, and 3 gas stations will fill most of your needs. Sugar Nymph restaurant is chef owned and well known for it’s delicious home cooked meals.
  • Jim & MariLu went above and beyond to make us comfortable and help us out when we were dealing with a broken down vehicle. Their home was beautiful! We would love to stay again under more pleasant conditions on our end.

  • Mari Lu and Jim are extremely nice and helpful. They answered any questions we had in timely manner. The cabin was clean and cozy. We definitely would stay again. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us and felt right at home. All amenities we needed were available in the home. Also they make a mean salsa and guacamole. It was delicious! Highly recommend!!!

  • We had an amazing time staying in this house. Jim&Mari Lu were both thoughtful and helpful with whatever we needed. They are willing to come out of their way to help even later in the evening times. The house was clean and spacious. Our kids loved staying here as well. They have a good variety of family games and movies to watch. We were able to enjoy the snow in their yard with their sleds they rented to us as well. I would highly recommned this place and will go again if we revisit this area!

    LeeAnna2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Mari Lu’s home was the perfect home base for our day trips to Sipapu. The home was spacious for our group of six and had all the amenities we could have asked for. The kitchen was fully stocked and the rooms had additional blankets for colder nights. Jim and Mari Lu were extremely helpful when we had car problems, and brought us delicious homemade salsa. I look forward to returning next year!

  • Incredibly lovely and warm oasis

    Jane2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place is conveniently located close to Taos plaza and not far from Taos Ski Valley. Though it was chilly and rainy outside, the unit was warm and there were plenty of blankets. Although I didn't personally meet Robert, he called me around check-in time to make sure I understood how to get into the unit and to ask if I had any questions about getting around Taos.

    Rhea2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as advertised, great location every point of interest in Taos is less than 15 minutes away. On the final day we had limited hot water (which wasn't an issue) However Robert offered to cover a day at the local spa for us to freshen up. Overall 10/10 experience and look forward to coming back.

This charming REMOTE adobe sits in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains . The village of Mora lies ~ 15 minutes away, Sipapu ski resort 40 minutes, & Taos ski area 1 hour. The casita sits 4 miles into a canyon on a DIRT road at ~8500 feet. Surrounded by 10 acres of Ponderosa Pine/Douglas Fir it is a wonderful base for nearby hiking, hunting, fishing, skiing & dirt biking.
The adobe is very remote according to most people. Directions should be carefully followed. GPS and cell service are not reliable! Although this mountain adobe is a wonderful getaway it is far from 'rustic'. All modern conveniences (minus wifi and tv) are available. It is situated less than 2 miles from Morphy lake. The surrounding mountains offer spectacular views and cool summer evenings. Great starting place for hunters, hikers, fishing and leaf peaking in the fall. Local residents offer horse back riding, guiding and local tour spots including pick your own raspberries at Salmon Ranch, the Alpaca Ranch, Tapetes de Lana, Mill Fest at Cleveland Roller Mill and Fort Union tours.
Mora is a mountain community with rich cultural heritage. There are several events that celebrate this heritage including the Mora Fiestas (end of July) the Cleveland Mill Fest (early September) Raspberry picking (end of summer) and of course hunting & fishing. It is a beautiful gateway to amazing ski adventures such as Angel Fire, Sipapu, Red River and Taos.
  • What a great place! Romantic and charming. Cozy and out of the way, we just loved it. No TV. No internet. No pushy people in overpriced SUVs adamant to turn illegally in front of you to get into Starbucks. It was the perfect hideout for our annual mountain adventure! Truly a getaway. And the wood stove took me right back to my childhood. What is better than a warm mug and a warm fire on a cold morning? We loved it! It was an experience we will always remember.

    Justin2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The mountain casita was a great place to stay. Despite there being snow on the last few miles getting there, our Subaru handled it just fine. The horses were sweet but we had to be sure they did not sneak out. They came right up behind me while I opened and closed the gate. The casita was clean and welcoming. The snow and stars added a beautiful touch to the mountain scenery. My wife and I had a great time just relaxing.

    Andrew2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This casita was so lovely! It had everything we needed for an amazing getaway. It was not hard to find and the inside was perfect. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone. Beautiful location!

  • Beautiful country and lovely landscapes, friendly horses are wonderful. Thank you!

    Cara2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, we canceled our late November stay on Erika and Albert's recommendation given the serious snow accumulation limiting access to the Mountain casita. Erika and Albert were excellent communicators, keeping us updated on weather conditions and working with us to cancel the reservation. I'd feel confident booking with them again, and hope to do so when the season permits.

    Sam & Alli2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway ! It s on a beautiful mountain property and very private. The wood stove and the bbq grill was a plus . Very clean and cozy . I have no complaints, It was better than I expected.

    Charles2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The home exceeds expectations and the atmosphere is what dreams are made of. Sitting on the porch and drinking coffee in the morning and seeing the friendly horses with the mountains and forest as your view makes it a tranquil and relaxing experience. Easy to get to as long as you follow the directions provided by the owners and they are available anytime you need assistance. I will be looking to come back for sure.

lots of organic food home made, old buildings explore, green valleys rivers and mountains fishing streams, and only 6 miles hiking trails to the sangra del cristal mountains forest and wilderness, happy to guild, good and friendly people, good spanish restaurant with very good new mexican music and food ex. don't forget that we are only a few miles away from well know resort areas like angle fire resort, and the sipapo ski resort area, find more resort areas in our web site Mora new mexico.com
  • This is a very rustic and homey place. We felt very comfortable and Manuel is a great host. He helped us wherever he could and even told us about some secret places to go and visit. The house has a fireplace and gas heaters for the winter. It is very cozy. The beds where clean and freshly made. There is a bedroom with one queen size bed and a children room with two twins. The house has everything that you would need even washer and dryer. It is a little close to a street but there is not much traffic so it is not loud at all. Right behind the house begins a nice little way up the mountain. Goof for joggers :-) And that big fluffy dog that runs around in the neighborhood is so friendly don't be scared. Overall it is a very nice place that I can recommend for families that want to wind down from the stress of the daily routine.

Beautiful country setting in historic compound. The guest suite has a private bathroom with a shower and private deck. In-room coffee and tea service. AC to keep you cool in the warm summer months and radiant heat in the winter. Cotton sheets, down comforters. Queen bed & twin sofa sleeper. We enjoy hosting your stay and respect our guests' privacy. As there is a pond on the property, our insurance company does not allow us to host children under the age of 12 years.
Located on the historic Plaza del Cerro dating back to the mid-1700's. Terrific book to read about the old plaza is "Sabino's Map" by Don Usner. The setting is unique and very peaceful. Great location if you want to visit Taos, Bandelier National Monument and Native American Pueblos and a short pretty drive to Santa Fe.
Historic neighborhood. The Santuario de Chimayo is a mile away, best known for its "healing earth" and commands the largest pilgrimage in Northern America during Holy Week. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU STAY ON OUR 4 ACRE HISTORIC PROPERTY, LOCATED IN THE COUNTRY, 24 MILES FROM SANTA FE: · Beautiful views, exquisite sunsets and dramatic evening skies · The occasional egret or duck in the pond · The howls of coyotes at night · Catch sight of a fox or a family of raccoons scampering across the fields · The occasional spider, fly or ant – we do not us “bug spays” or any toxic chemicals on our plants and 35 fruit trees. This is a conscious choice that our many returning guests appreciate · A walk around the 300 year old historic Plaza del Cerro, out our back door · 100% cotton linens and bath towels · Organic soap and shampoos · Organic coffee and teas · Fresh, tasty water from the community water well · Radiant hot water radiators. Will heat the room to a toasty 85 degrees · Outdoor fire pit
  • Jody's East Casita is so cute and comfortable! We came in January but stayed warm the whole time- the place is well heated and insulated! Jody's property is lovely and the location is quiet, but close to the Chimayo attractions. Jody was an accommodating and friendly host. The WiFi signal was weak and inconsistent but other than that expect a comfortable and scenic stay!

  • My best friend and I are on a road trip through NM and stayed in the East Casita for 2 nights. Communication with our host was clear and detailed and check in was easy. We loved the many windows in both the room and the bathroom, the radiator that kept us plenty warm, lots of extra blankets, stargazing from our own porch, the beauty of our environment, and saying hello to the kitties, dogs, beetles, spiders, birds and morning walks around the ranch. Great home base to explore the area and surrounding hiking trails. Our host kindly welcomed us to use the fire pit next to the West Casita and provided us with wood and marshmallows - a perfect way to ring in the new year. I would not hesitate to stay here again and grateful to our host for having us.

  • Another great stay.

    Erin2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special rural space for a getaway near Santa Fe, Los Alamos and other nearby attractions. Everything is as pictured. Easy in and out. Very private. We didn't hear our neighbors in the adjacent casita at all. You will probably want a cooler with ice. The hostess supplied coffee and toiletries and ultrasoft towels. Definitely try to arrive before dark. It is on an unlit narrow road but it is easy to find using host's directions. It is rural and there are mosquitoes, you might want some repellent so you can sit on the porch and enjoy the sunset. P. S. Don't miss Rancho de Chimayo restaurant!

    Amy2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, great gardens! Close to town. Jody is very nice I am not just saying that cause we have the same name!

    Jody2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! We did not have time to meet Jody. The communication was super. She gave us great tips. The cottage is super comfortable and everything was top clean - we would go back anytime.

    Davide2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jody has a fantastic place to call home during your stay. The casita was clean and cozy and the beds were super comfortable. The advice to get there the first time before dark is good because it is tucked away on a little side road, but once you get there, you will have no problems finding your way around. Also, a good tip that really helped us was to download Google Maps for the area so that you can use them offline. The cell service can be a bit spotty, but that is an easy fix. The casita had great wifi which allowed us to stream shows on our iPads to watch before bed. The patio on the back deck was super sweet and a relaxing haven especially on cool mornings. The provided coffee maker and k-cups were so nice:) Jody kindly offered us to use an ice box, but we brought along our own small cooler which worked great for us. We brought back a fresh bag of ice after our daily adventures and it kept our wine chilled, creamer for our coffee, and some yogurt for breakfast. We especially enjoyed the pets including a variety of very friendly cats and three small dogs. We also saw a very large bullfrog on our front porch one morning! He probably lives in the adorable pond just up from the casita. The property is large with lots of apple trees and a couple of apricot trees and plenty of room to walk around and explore. Although you cannot see the mountains from the house, the drive to and from provides gorgeous vistas and breathtaking views. We also enjoyed eating more than once at the Rancho de Chimayo restaurant which is just a stone's throw from the casita. The food was outstanding and the service was great even when we had no reservation. Jody's place is a steal for the price and is the perfect getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will remember Rancho Manzana if we come to Santa Fe in the future.

Our rustic little cabin is located in a small residential neighborhood 4.5 miles outside of the town of Taos (10-15 minute drive)--off the beaten track, but still on the outskirts of town. The cabin is a charming one room structure including a full bed and single (twin) sleep sofa, dining area, kitchenette, and full bathroom with stall shower. As a writer's or artist's retreat, you may be inspired by the sweeping mountain views, the light and the sheer magic of the area.
The cabin, a pebble's toss from our own small house, was originally a Ute Valley Park, Colorado, summer camp cabin, moved here about twenty-five years ago. Sunrises and sunsets are daily marvels, and at night the stars shine bright. The romance of the area has been enough to have inspired guests to elope while here or to become engaged! Visiting the nearby yet remote Ponce de Leon Hot Springs is a must. The hot springs are a 1.5 mile drive and then a short hike away. It is a peaceful, quiet, remarkably private outdoor place. Our guests have told us that this off the beaten track destination was the highlight of their trip to Taos (and it is a sacred place so remember to be respectful if you visit). There are biking, hiking and walking trails nearby, also within reasonable distance to the Ski Valley, the little mountain villages in the Picuris mountain range (the High Road to Santa Fe), and the Rio Grande. The beautiful San Francisco de Asis Church, an old and impressive adobe Mission building, is not to be missed, and it's just a mile down the road in the Ranchos Plaza, which has shops and restaurants, including our own Two Graces Plaza Gallery, full of art, books and curios of the Southwest. The town of Taos has museums, galleries, shops, and lots of great places to eat.
Llano Quemado is an old residential neighborhood outside of and to the south of Taos. We have big, wide-open views of the mountains all around. The Acequia Llano Quemado runs a few feet from the cabin on its way to water the fields of the community. The little farm right next door raises sheep and goats, and there are dogs, cats, chickens, and horses, too. Even Georgia O'Keeffe found found this neighborhood charming--she was a frequent overnight guest of one of our neighbors!
  • Cute cabin, they've put together a book of local places and directions that was super helpful. Thanks for everything!

    Russ2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • A totally lovely, charming, restful place with everything one needs - lovingly attended too.

    Regina2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot. Unique cabin. Had everything we could have wanted. Highly recommend!

    Claudia2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin was my personal heaven. It has such a warmth to it and I loved all the wood and unique decor! Holly and Robert could not have been sweeter (one of these lovely people scraped ice and snow off my car before I even woke up!), and I had a beautiful morning hike up to the hot springs among many other things. It was a gorgeous experience in a gorgeous place. If you’re seeking peace and beauty this place will be a salve for the soul.

    Jenni2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin near a fantastic hot spring we were lucky enough to have all to ourselves 2 mornings in a row.

    Luke2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin on the Hot Springs Road is lovely, comfortable and charming. The hosts, Robert and Holly, are artists, have a knack for decorating, and a gallery in downtown Taos. They welcomed me in person right away, and were very responsive to my questions and needs. Highly recommended.

    Barbara2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is AMAZING!!! We love Taos and were so excited to find a getaway like this so close to town. The cabin has some awesome vibes and brings out the relaxation you need. The cabin has everything you need during your stay and the decorations and tiny knick-knack's make this place one of a kind! The directions to the hot spring can be a little trick but we figured it out and had the whole spring to ourselves. Can't wait to .come back and stay here soon.

    Julian2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so cool. Never having been to Taos, I didn’t know what to expect. It felt like it was in the middle of no where but it was only a 10 minute drive to things we planned on doing. We enjoyed our coffee one morning in the sun staring at the mountains. The stars are amazing at night. If you can withstand the chilly nights, stargaze! The cabin was decorated so sweet. Loved the recommendations. We never could figure out how to use the main heater, but the smaller one helped just fine. Thanks for letting us stay and having the place ready for us.

Walk to the Taos Plaza, boutique shops, local breweries, restaurants, galleries & historic museums. Catch the free shuttle to Taos Ski Valley a few streets away. Includes a pillow-top queen bed, kiva fireplace, internet, cable TV, full kitchen, private bathroom and free parking.
Our newly-renovated 318 sq. ft. casita-style studio features a kiva fireplace, 10-foot ceilings with traditional viga beams, comfortable bed and beautiful kitchen space. It is adorned with turquoise accents and artwork from local and international artists. Wi-Fi and cable TV allow you to stay connected and enjoy a relaxing evening watching your favorite TV channels. Casita Turquoise is the culmination of a vision we began to develop in the mid-2010s as our careers took us to many special places in the world, including Taos. Casita Turquoise is an homage to our various peregrinations across the globe. The artistic maps above the bed are of cities in which we lived in the U.S., Canada and Haiti, and some of the elements of the décor, such as the bedside rugs, are handwoven products made by skilled artisans of Ethiopia, where our careers took us in 2017. We are so happy to welcome you into this space and share a bit of our journey with you.
Casita Turquoise is located just 2 blocks from the Historic District in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood. It boasts beautifully landscaped grounds with cottonwood and juniper trees. The unit comes with one free parking spot and additional public parking is just one block away.
  • Comfortable, cozy, and luxurious! We loved our stay. The perfect place to stay while attending a wedding at El Monte Sagrado.

    Maggie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Well-located in the heart of downtown Taos, I highly recommend a stay here. It was welcoming, clean, and well-maintained with all the amenities one could hope for (including the most comfortable bed ever) in a cozy, romantic, getaway.

    Karl2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely little place. Cozy and comfortable.

    Shannon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was perfect! The place was the perfect launching pad for both exploring town and skiing at Taos. The ski area is only 30 minutes driving and town is walking distance. We were able to explore the plaza and hit up some museums without driving, which is always an added bonus. The place is super cozy and stylish and the perfect size for 2 people. Loved being able to have a fire!

  • Great location! Super cute cottage!!!

    Sue2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is such a lovely and cozy space. It has so many special touches, including the traditional kiva fireplace, the fully-equipped and colorful kitchen, the beautiful exposed-wood beam ceiling, and the wonderfully comfortable bed. And on top of that, the location truly can’t be beat. I walked & wandered all thru the historic district every day I was there, grabbing coffee down the street, dipping into countless art galleries and finding so much amazing food within a couple blocks. I also snowboarded one day and the resort was an easy and scenic 20 minutes away. Hugo was very friendly with his messages and thorough with his check-in process, as well as with their guestbook, which has some great restaurant tips. I really hope to come back soon!

    Dylan2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is beautifully decorated and makes for a cozy stay for one or two people. Check-in is a breeze with Hugo and Jessica providing detailed information you need to make yourself at home. The location is also great - easy walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars, and galleries. Highly recommend.

    Megan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z

Escape to the natural beauty of the Embudo River Valley in this private, quiet casita on a 5+ acre property in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Located in the village of Dixon, this is the perfect jumping off point for ski trips to Taos, Sipapu, and Sante Fe, for snowshoeing or cross country skiing, or visits to Ghost Ranch and Ojo Caliente. Visit local wineries and the majestic Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. Enjoy long mornings and evenings relaxing by the fire.
Bosque Cottage is our beautiful property which includes the main house, a small art studio, a tiny house, a garden, and the casita. The property is on the Embudo River and the bosque (forest) that lines the river. The approximately 900 square foot, straw bale casita is bermed into a hillside approximately 50 yards (150 feet) from the main house and is situated for maximum privacy. When inside, the thick, straw bale insulated walls add to the quiet and keep the space cool in summer and warm in winter. The space has a mini split air conditioner for those hot summer days. In the winter the casita is warmed with radiant in-floor heating, the mini split heater, and a wood stove fireplace. The artist owned and decorated space features a modern aesthetic with rustic touches, a rotating collection of small-scale works of contemporary art, and a beautifully designed patio with sunset views of the surrounding hills and mesas. The patio has a chiminea fire pit, a charcoal grill, shade, seating, and lighting. The shade is removed in winter to let in more sunshine. Off of the patio is a short trail that leads to an arroyo which can be explored by guests. One bundle of firewood and firestarter are provided for the chiminea and/or wood stove. Additional firewood (with firestarter) can be purchased for $5.00 per bundle. The kitchen is stocked with organic olive oil, organic cooking oil, coffee, coffee filters, sugar, salt, pepper, and some other basic spices. We also provide basic cookware, dishes, utensils, a coffee maker, and an ice maker. There is a stackable washer/dryer in the kitchen with eco-friendly laundry detergent. Note that the washer is appropriate for light loads only. The television streams Netflix, Hulu, and Hulu Live, which provides many cable and local channels. Guests can also play music using the Pandora app on the television. In the bathroom we provide Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Stairs lead off the living room to the loft bedroom with a queen sized bed. Downstairs in the living room, a chair folds out to a comfortable twin bed (this is the “sofa bed”).
Dixon is a small, agricultural community famous for its orchards. The community is very diverse and peaceful. The Sipapu Ski Resort, a favorite of locals, is just 30 minutes away. About the same distance are areas good for sledding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. The casita is just 25 minutes from Taos and 45 minutes from Santa Fe, and all of the cultural attractions these cities have to offer. Drive 20 minutes in another direction and you will be high in the Sangre de Cristo mountains where opportunities for hiking, fishing, and enjoying nature abound. About one mile from the casita is the Dixon Co-op Market, a small but well-stocked grocery store and deli. The village has a restaurant, Zuly’s, which has excellent New Mexican food and a patio. There are three wineries very nearby, one within walking distance. Access to the Rio Grande National Monument (a.k.a., “the gorge”) is approximately 10 miles from Bosque Cottage and not to be missed.

  • The house was very clean and welcoming. Good location for skiing at Sipapu with an easy 20-30 minute drive in good road conditions. The house feels spacious even with a small footprint and sitting in front of the wood burning fireplace is a great way to unwind after a long day.

  • This casita is absolutely adorable and inspiring. The setting is amazing, the attention to detail superb and it's one of the best short term rental properties I've stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot! Hope to stay in the tiny house on the property next time!

    Tracy2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy space. Love that firewood was provided. A great touch. The minimalist and relaxing aesthetic was wonderful. Gorgeous bathroom. Comfortable couch. We appreciated the radiant heat floors, washer and dryer and simple guidebook to the workings of the house.

    Jordan2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is hands down the most impressive Airbnb I have ever stayed in. The casita itself is taste fully decorated and has all the small creature comforts you could want, down to the cooking supplies in the kitchen and soaps in the bathroom. The bedroom loft is pleasantly warm, even in the dead of winter, and the property surrounding the home is stunning. It feels like you can see every star in the sky from the back porch. Rachel and Bart were excellent hosts and provided very clear instructions on how to find the home; they also offered local tips on where to eat. I am extremely happy with how our stay in Dixon went and I would love to return for a longer stay sometime soon.

Tucked behind the Dixon Plaza, and situated directly above the Acequia de la Plaza, the Long House is one of the true gems in Dixon. Built in the 1700s and lovingly renovated in the 1990s, the Long House offers a unique and historic experience in the heart of Dixon. Centrally located off the Dixon Plaza, you'll be a five minute walk to the Coop, library, post office, and Zuly's Cafe. It's a great place to relax and enjoy Dixon and as a home base to venture and explore northern NM.
3/28/20 Update: Due to covid 19, orders given for people to stay home and my concern for my family and the communities of northern New Mexico, I have made some temporary changes. Since access to testing is a challenge and the symptoms can mimic the flu, if you or anyone in your party are sick in any way prior to your arrival date or, if you are traveling from a known hot spot of covid 19, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible. I've also removed the Instant Book option so that I have the option to connect with you prior to accepting a reservation. I increased the minimum stay to 5 days with a day blocked out on either side of each reservation, and I've also blocked out the rest of April. The extra day will allow for the additional cleaning and disinfecting that is recommended in between guests. Guests should still reach out to the caretakers prior to their arrival date, but face to face interactions with the guests will be kept to a minimum and phone calls and texts with the caretakers should be used. Since the washer and dryer are in the caretakers' living space, I've removed access to it to protect their them. I hope that you understand the intention to keep you and everyone safe during these unprecedented times, and hopefully soon, things will return to normal! While some businesses have temporarily closed, the Coop and Sugar Nymphs have remained open and are offering pick up and curb side options so you can get what you need. Call ahead to any of the places nearby to find out if they're open and their hours of operation. **** Having recently traveled to Europe and Canada, and having stayed in airbnb listed apartments managed by hosts who manage many properties with minimally equipped kitchens with sparse furnishings, I realized that the airbnb experience of being a guest in someone's home is becoming less common. The Long House was my mom's house, where my family and I have gathered since the early 90's. I built the Addition on the back of the Long House where she painted and practiced her photography and entertained friends and family from the area and all over the world. In that spirit, I have opened up my family home to the airbnb community. I am proud to let you know that this is my home and I live here too! The art and the furnishings and the kitchen (without a microwave!) are the way that I want it because I return each year with my family for extended stays. I work on the house and the property so that you too can enjoy being in this special place! New for 2019, I'm super excited to share that I laid flagstone on the back patio! I bought 4 tons of Colorado red flagstone from my friend Mark Saxe at Southwest Stoneworks, just up the road in Rinconada, and worked on leveling the ground and installing the flagstone. I've wanted to lay flagstone on the back patio for a very long time and I'm so happy that I had the time this year to get it done. In 2017, I replaced the kitchen countertops with granite and an undermount sink and new pulldown faucet, added a great, new sectional couch with lots of pillows and other new furniture, more lighting and floor coverings, and a new refrigerator to make the Long House even more comfortable and inviting! Check out the photos to see the new countertop, sectional couch and comfy chair in the living room, and all new photos of the rest of the house. Time spent at the Long House is the kind of quality time that we so rarely get elsewhere. The thick, adobe walls help to keep the house quiet and cool in the summer and warm in the winter. As there is rarely any traffic by the house, you will be amazed at how quiet it is. This summer, we awoke to the sounds of the Rio Embudo as there is still snow runoff rushing down the valley. The acequias are full, and the sounds of the wind and the rain and the thunder greeted us every day. The front porch is a great place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and to greet the neighbors on their morning walk. The back porch is my favorite spot as the house is perched above the acequia and the lower fields that run to the river. The expansive view of the Dixon valley and the hills beyond is an inspiration. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always a treat on the back patio table. The beauty of being in Dixon is that time seems to move more slowly. A walk up to the Co-op for some food or a little bit farther to La Chiripada Winery to get a bottle of wine for dinner is enough to break up a perfect day spent enjoying time being at home. Our neighbor's dog, Romeo, loves to make the rounds in the evening and will often stop by to say hello! He's super friendly and loves a good scratch by his tail. He's getting older now, and unfortunately is no longer able to control his bowels, so keep an eye out for him and his droppings! Named after its construction, the Long House was built by adding one room at a time from east to west in the 1700s. As the original family expanded and grew, another room was added next to the last room built. Room to room access used to be through doors that opened to the exterior, as there were no doors between rooms until much later. You’ll find that each room still has a door that opens to the exterior (except the bathroom), although the yoga room’s old exterior door now opens into the sunroom, which I added in the 1990s. Unique and lovingly renovated, the Long House encompasses 1800 square feet of living space and boasts traditional vigas with split cedar and rough cut, plank ceilings, 2.5’ thick adobe walls with traditional mud plaster on the exterior, and diamond point plaster on the interior walls. The secluded back porch area offers a wonderful setting for meals and a gorgeous view of the Dixon valley and Rio Embudo, while the front porch offers a wonderful view of the sunsets. As someone who loves to cook, the full kitchen has everything you'll need, including a new natural gas stove with oven, coffee grinder and maker, toaster oven, blender, frig/freezer and all the cooking utensils and pans you’ll need to enjoy a home cooked meal. A microwave you will not find, though. The master bedroom has a king size, Sleep Number bed, with a new, gel foam mattress topper, a wood stove to take off the chill, and private access to the back porch. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, private access to the front porch, and connects directly to the yoga/meditation room (with yoga mats included) and the adobe sunroom added onto the front side of the yoga room. The entire house is heated with radiant and baseboard heat, and each room has its own thermostat (except for the sunroom). The bathroom features a clawfoot bath tub for long, slow baths and modified for showers too. If you need to do laundry, the washer/dryer are located in the Addition, where my caretakers live. Just coordinate with the Gabrielle or Noel and they'll give you access to the laundry.
Early November each year, the Dixon Studio Tour features the renowned, local Embudo valley artists and their work. Visit their studios, talk to the artists and see their work from the past year. It's an exceptional opportunity to go places in the area that are only available during this weekend, and to purchase art directly from the artists. November in Dixon is not to be missed! The website has the listing of the artists and a map to their studios and a preview of what you'll find. Use your favorite search engine to check out the Dixon Studio Tour (for some unknown reason, airbnb won't let me show you the website address) According to my neighbor down the lane who teaches archeology at Barnard College and spends his summers in Dixon, the Dixon Plaza was the prior location of the Picuris Pueblo. Old pottery shards can be found on the lanes and pathways as you walk. And if you have the pleasure of visiting in the summer, be sure to check out the farmer's market each Wednesday starting around 3:30 pm in front of the Coop in June, July, August and into the fall!
  • This stay exceeded expectations. David and the caretaker were very communicative before my arrival. The drive to get there is STUNNING. As soon as I pulled up, I got excited because the view off the back porch is incredible! I quickly ran inside and was greeted by gentle, welcoming music. The house is darling. The bedrooms are spacious. There’s plenty of room to stretch out and get comfy in the living spaces, and I cooked a bunch in the kitchen. Lots of cooking utensils, pots, pans, and slices were available. The little town of Dixon was secluded enough to make my stay feel like a getaway but close enough to Taos and Santa Fe that I could have day trip adventures. I heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful stay in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.

  • Beautiful New Mexico stylings abound in this house. Noel, a young man who works is part of David’s family came to check on us shortly after we had checked in, and he told us the 200 - year old history of it. Despite having been added onto twice over that period, the kitchen is modern and very equipped. We had everything we needed to cook meals on a high - end gas range. Communication with David and Noel was top - notch. I would definitely stay again here!

  • Fabulous spot, we enjoyed this trip so much we starting thinking about when we could return! The house was clean, there were items in the kitchen which were helpful, the hosts were amazing, and we loved the feel of the place!

  • An amazing home, what a privilege it was to stay here in this wonderful community. Great place to stay. We had snow on our second morning but that just served to make it even more magical. Go..you will not regret it.

  • A great and comfy place to stay in the countryside of Northern New Mexico. Great location to get to skiing, wine and other outdoor activities. The historic house is obviously loved and cared for, the colors inside are so peaceful. It was a cold weekend, but the radiant in floor heating was a treat after skiing. A well stocked and appointed kitchen made cooking while away from home a breeze.

  • Gary was such a pleasure to speak with and was extremely helpful in helping us find wonderful things to do locally. The house was in pristine condition and very pleasant to stay in. The sound of the river at night was one of the highlights of our stay! Along with Gary's homemade cookies! We would definitely return to the Riverside guest house.

    Jackie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cute house with all that you need for a nice stay. The view from the bed in the morning was amazing and the stars at night were great.

    Martin2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is awesome and being right on the river was so peaceful. Gary was so easy to communicate with and made sure everything was in order and went above and beyond making sure everyone was comfortable. He gave different options on directions in case we wanted to take the scenic route. (You should always take the scenic route!) Looking forward to visiting again!

  • Gary is a sweetie. He left a personal touch that was really sweet for us to walk into later. He came over and helped us get the hot tub going when we had a problem. The river and view of the mountains is gorgeous and the hot tub is fantabulous (great showers too.) Rejuvenating to be in nature like that, my sweetie and I luved it.

  • What a wonderful little getaway this was. We only wish that we could have stayed longer.

    Tiara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The home is very well kept and had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the fireplace and the collection of movies and games. The house is off the main road, but not difficult to find. The hosts are very easy to communicate with and responsive to questions etc. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

    Linda2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding location just 20’ from Sipapu and less to some great hikes. The house comfortably sleeps 8 (3x couples). The proprietor even built a fire to start, but we didn’t have time to enjoy it :-( Bring your groceries, it’s a little remote, but a beautiful little spot. Reasonable rental price; We’ll be back!

  • Martha’s place was a great! It was very clean and cozy, a perfect mountain getaway.

    Raven2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • 11/10 would recommend to anyone! The house was in a great spot for anybody skiing at Sipapu. The house has everything you could possibly need. Really clean and everything works.

    Ethan2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house was the perfect size for our family of 8 people. The attic bedroom is adorable and the littles loved staying there - it was like a treehouse they said. The house was very clean and the fireplace worked well making us nice and cozy. The drive up to Sipapu ski resort is gorgeous and short making it a perfect place to stay if you plan to go to that resort. The owners were always quick to respond to messages from us during our stay. Over all great experience!

The tipi is set in an isolated spot on the mountain where you can find peace and beauty beyond your expectations. Away from the hustle bustle of city life and away from congested campgrounds you can enjoy the simple beauty of a Tipi surrounded by spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Some people might use the word Glamping. Guests are often surprised to find a nice comfy bed with an open fire pit inside. You can describe this experience as authentic, rustic or perhaps ROMANTIC!!!
While a tipi does not have the indoor conveniences you might find in a hotel, we have adequate restroom facilities (an outhouse), everything you need to cook over a fire, as well as an ample supply of water and firewood. The tipi has a double bed with flannel sheets to keep you warm and cozy at night. There is a fire pit inside of the tipi for warmth and enjoyment. If you enjoy cooking on a campfire, we have a cast iron Dutch oven and skillet as well as a good grill for cooking. If you need a quick cup of coffee in the morning, there is a butane burner with a percolator. You can hang a hammock in the trees, take your shoes off and enjoy the time away from the hustle bustle. If you are looking for something with a little more comfort and out of the elements, look up comfort in the woods. This is a tiny house, with a loft. It has a wood heat stove and a propane cook stove with a queen bed in the loft and a twin bed with a trundle downstairs. You can sit on the swing on the front porch and enjoy your morning cup of coffee or Serenity on the mountain which is another cabin with electricity and running water all with spectacular views and total privacy.
The only neighbors you have besides the few of us living on the ranch are the birds and the squirrels. Sometimes a deer or an elk might be seen grazing in the meadows in the early morning or evening. As we are a working ranch, we also have horses, sheep and cattle.
  • Carla is not joking when she says high clearance/AWD recommended!! I have a Volvo XC70 with AWD and the clearance of a Subaru outback. We barely made it up the hill! But we DID make it, and it was a lovely spot to stay.

  • Spending the night in a tipi and walking up to snow inside is an unforgettable experience!! And Carla provides plenty of blankets, water and other kitchen or fire items. It does get cold when the sun goes down so be sure you can keep a fire going!!! Loved it, beautiful place to escape to!

    Jenn2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a blast staying with my brother in the teepee! Beautiful scenery and stars, although can get a bit chilly so bring appropriate gear. Carla was very helpful, even let us borrow chains for snowy roads!

Cute, comfortable, convenient micro home; 1 block from the famous San Fransisco Church. Fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, DishTV, WIFI, air conditioning. Quiet neighborhood - a quick drive from Taos Plaza, less than one hour from 2 world-renowned ski resorts.
This affordable micro home is the perfect place to stay while enjoying everything Taos and the surrounding areas have to offer. Our bright and cheery space takes full advantage of all the New Mexico sunshine with skylights and a large window. The space is about the size of med-sized Airstream, and features a fully equipped kitchen, including dishware, gas range, oven, microwave and refrigerator - everything you need to cook! Comfy double size bed and linens sleeps a single or a couple. Robes and slippers are provided. There is also a washer/dryer. The building is tucked behind the main gate to the property, and shares the driveway with the main house. Guests enjoy the experience of living in an exquisite tiny house. It's perfect for two people for short visits, or one person for extended stays. Please inquire about special monthly rates ( 28 nights +) too! Taos has many exciting tourist attractions, but if you chose to stay in, take advantage of the lovely yard and seating areas. It is located in Taos' oldest neighborhood, Ranchos de Taos, one block from the most photographed church in the southwest. It is also just two blocks from the bus stop (bus runs Mon-Fri.) if you don't have a car.
"Ranchos" has the oldest buildings in Taos Valley and three of them house restaurants. Old Martina's is a good choice for their early dinner special (and sometimes they have music and dancing in the dance hall. The Trading Post Cafe (sign in front says ITALIAN RESTAURANT) is not really very Italian - it is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Also there is great New Mexican food at the Ranchos Plaza Grill which looks onto the Church. I can never decide which is better, the green or red chili so I ask for both ( referred to as Christmas) on the blue corn chicken enchiladas.
  • This quaint little place is a perfect getaway in Taos! We came for a long ski weekend and the location is perfect. Just a short drive to Red River and Angel Fire. The fresh flowers and snacks were a perfect touch and Pat was very accommodating! We will definitely be back!

    Cindy2020-03-07T00:00:00Z

  • Pat’s place was warm and cozy. It was the perfect place to stay for an extended weekend visiting Taos. Pat even left snacks for my sister and I!

    Emily2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is very well designed, modern, and comfortable. Pat is a great host and can point you in the right direction for whatever you are looking for.

  • The gate house seems much larger on the inside than it does from the outside. It's a very well curated space with all the amenities as listed. Girlfriend thought it was very cute. Pat left some treats as I mentioned we were on a birthday trip. Very thoughtful. I'm 6'3", and I had enough space to sleep and shower. Very comfy bed.

    William2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was a great host! The place was perfect for my needs and in a perfect location (cross country skiing). The backyard view of the mountains was marvelous. Pat was great with communication leading up to the trip and also while I was there. This will definitely be my home base again next time I visit the area.

    Toure2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Pat’s tiny house is adorable and so comfortable - we were happy campers for a few days with two of us. Ranchos de Taos is a great location; it’s a quick drive into town and it’s so nice walking to Ranchos plaza. Most importantly, Pat is incredibly thoughtful and hospitable. The tiny house was full of treats and personal touches, and Pat was so helpful.

  • This is a great little farmhouse to stay at if you’re thinking of visiting Taos, Santa Fe, or both while enjoying more of a private/secluded feel. Jessica and her family are extremely welcoming and kind. There’s a book in the living room that gives local tips as well as a quick run down on how best to enjoy the place (you shouldn’t be cold at all like some other reviews if you read through it). Dixon locals are very friendly and there’s even a brewery right around the corner!

This little cabins nestled in the pines with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The roads are a little rough, but this will only assure you a quite and peaceful retreat away from the crowded campgrounds and congested resort areas. If you are interested in hiking or exploring, this is the perfect place, or you can simply relax and enjoy some quite solitude on the mountain. Contact host during inclement weather to check road conditions.
This tiny house is located on a private ranch. It is a 2 mile drive in from County Road B028. This ensures that you will have beauty and privacy with plenty of space for hiking and enjoying nature. We are only a couple of miles from the Santa Fe National Forest, so if you want to do some serious hiking we are not far away.
  • This tiny home was truly amazing. The view from every angle is breath taking! We loved how absolutely secluded it was. There’s no quiet like that. Carla was so helpful, and even drove us into the home because the roads were too icy. Be sure to bring a portable charger, and food! This was the best stay ever

    Addison2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Carla's place is AWESOME!! It is not for the faint of heart - the drive is an off-roaders pleasure (I drive a 4x4 Jeep with big tires and a lift so my car and I were happy as clams) - the solitude is spectacular, the nature delightful and Carla and co are delightful, helpful and respectful. We had crazy mountain weather - super high winds, a mini blizzard, and some clear bright sun during our week - every bit was wonderful!!! Love th cozy cabin and sponge baths by the fire. 😊 If you love the wilderness but like a little shelter, this is your place. We will be back!! Thank you Carla!!!!

  • If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded mountain get-a-way, this is the place. All the basic essentials are provided in this tiny house and the host will go out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. This is my second time to stay on their ranch. It’s absolutely beautiful and so quiet.

  • Awesome place to stay if you're looking for a quiet place away from everything! Awesome mountain views. Like other people said, the road is rough so be prepared for that.

    Rachel2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The tranquility cabin was perfect for us. The dog loved being able to roam within sight of the cabin. So much solitude and quiet. Be aware the roads are ROUGH!! High clearance needed.

  • Carla was great. She always responded quickly if we needed something. The farm is amazing. It is so beautiful! Note the roads to it are a bit rough. One can’t be in a hurry. The tiny house that we stayed in is as cute as can be. I would highly recommend this ranch!

  • This was the perfect get away for my wife and I. Carla’s property is beyond beautiful and she is so welcoming and friendly. If you are looking for a true mountain experience, a time to disconnect from the world and connect with your loved ones - you’ve found it. We have previously stayed in Carla's teepee and had such a great time we knew we would be back again and again.

The cabin sets in a meadow looking at the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, A pond and lush green grass make this a special place. The cabin has all of the amenities. While it boasts having running water, a bathroom and a full kitchen, the special part is the beautiful setting. The entrance of the property borders the Rio de La Casa, a small river running with clear mountain runoff. You may see sheep grazing the meadows, the quiet solitude in this beautiful valley will bring peace to your soul.
This space is unique in it's location. Set on the edge of Los Vallecitos (Little Valley) at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. There are 2 ponds as well as River frontage at the entrance to the property. This small cabin is a beautiful quite retreat. Please note that the roads can be rough particularly in inclement weather conditions. We try to maintain them but the weather is at time challenging. I travel these roads regularly in my Subaru which has 8 1/2" of clearance and don't have trouble except in snow.
We are located at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We are a couple of miles from the Santa Fe National Forest and from there not far from the Pecos Wilderness. In the valley there are a range of restaurants and other activities. Please visit ourmora.com for more local activities.
  • Our family of 5 loved our stay. We have 3 daughters who didn't want to leave. The view is breathtaking!! Property caretakers, Audrey and Austin were so sweet and informative. The road to get up there is a bit rough and definitely questionable for a city car in bad weather. Overall, we had a wonderful time.

I was looking forward to catching some sights of the animals but was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the horses & cattle grazing right next to the cabin when we first arrived. The companion dogs are adorable and super friendly, and loved to say hello as we were walking around and exploring the grounds. Carla is the coolest, btw. This is definitely a great spot to breathe and slow down for a few days.

  • Carla's cabin was great! Tranquil and remote, yet not too far from civilization. She was very flexible with our arrival timeline.

  • Loved this airbnb! It was worth every penny. Carla was very responsive, the cabin was equipped with all essentials, including firewood to have a nice fire in the fire pit. The location is at the top of a beautiful meadow overlooking the mountains. We were able to explore, hike around, and watch a beautiful sunset. There is one hill leading up to the cabin, roughly 200 yards in length, that was pretty steep and muddy from the melted snow, but we were able to get up it with no problem in a 4 wheel drive F150. Overall great experience and great location!

  • We had a wonderful stay in this cozy cabin. Carla was very helpful and accommodating. Her large, wooded property has stunning views of the mountains, and we especially loved exploring on hikes.

  • Craig was so nice. On our first morning we had issues with the coffee maker and he came over to check on it and made sure we had our morning coffee the next day (it was user error). He also gave us a good recommendation for a burger spot in town. His house had everything we needed for our stay! Check in and out was so easy!

  • Cute little guest house! It was a perfect space for two couples. Super close to everything and normally it was less than a 15 minute drive into town.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Great central location for us to visit some of the local ski resorts.

  • Beautiful place with equally beautiful views. Craig is an excellent host, even checking in on our stay part of the way through. His communication and the amount of local guides was impecable.

  • My recent 4 day stay at Craig's casita was perfect and relaxing! The location was great and not too far from Taos center city. The full size kitchen is roomy and is stocked with everything you need to cook meals, make coffee, and even do some baking. The kitchen opens up to the living room area with a great double recliner where I spent an entire day relaxing, reading, and working. Both bedrooms are roomy, I slept in the master and the bed was super comfortable! The master also has a roomy walk-in closet with extra blankets, and in the corner is a closet with stackable washer and dryer. Having washer/dryer worked out perfectly for me as I like to do my laundry before heading home from my monthly road trips. The bathroom is spacious, and the shower is roomy. Last, but not least: the view! The view of the mountains is amazing and especially beautiful during sunrise. I made sure to open the shade in the master so that I could experience the sunrises every morning. Follow your morning sunny welcome with a cup of coffee on the front porch, the best part of my mornings! I also sat out on the front porch and enjoyed the starry nights. Be sure to buy a nice bottle of wine down at Parcht Wine Bar (below The Gorge Restaurant) located on the Taos Plaza to enjoy whilst you star gaze on the casita's porch. Craig was an amazing host who was always available by message or phone and communicated with me very quickly when I reached out with questions. Parking is extremely secure (not on the street) on the property between main dwelling and casita so you are super close to the front casita door. I travel alone or with my teenager, so my/our safety is something I consider paramount. I felt super safe here. I will be returning to stay at Craig’s casita again soon. Oh! Wait, did I mention the recliner? The recliner is amazingly comfortable, so much so that I didn’t want to get up for anything. I highly recommend his place!
