  • Trudy & Ian’s Annex was amazing. I had booked it for my partner’s birthday & he absolutely fell in love with it as did I. The whole place was beautiful, everything worked great. It was lovely and warm, the jacuzzi was amazing. I can’t think of one negative thing to say about this place! The little touches like the breakfast bits just made it that little bit extra special! It’s also amazing if you have dogs too as it’s dog friendly which I loved! We will deffo be coming back here if we’re ever in the area.

  • Trudy, Ian and pets were so friendly, super welcoming upon arrival and all the way through our four day stay. We Brough our cat with us (Milo), he seemed to enjoy himself and it was nice to have the opportunity to bring him along! Trudy and Ian's hosting skills were amazing, especially as it was our first time using Airbnb. 100% recommending the annex and we plan to return later in the year, Trudy and Ian were full of recommendations of where to visit and local pubs with good food!

  • This cottage is fantastic - 10 mins drive from Symonds Yat East and Rock where you can do lovely walking cycling trails. Probably 10 mins drive to Ross and maybe 20 to Monmouth, both of which have plenty to see, do, eat and drink. We came in February so were very thankful to have the fire to keep us warm when we got in for the day. The cottage has everything you need, and it’s so cosy! The hosts are also very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place hands down, and we’ll definitely go back.

Chesil Bank is set in the stunning countryside just 2miles ( and on a bus route) from the beautiful market town of Monmouth. The Wye valley is on the door step with the rivers Wye and Monnow brilliant for water activities. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a sparkling drink and cake in the garden all was a delight! There are two sweet dogs that love company. Lots of gorgeous hiking in the area. Llangrove, England, United Kingdom

This is a one bedroom, first floor apartment in a converted sandstone barn. Situated in a quiet rural location it is perfect as a relaxing retreat or a base to explore the wonderful local attractions. There is one double bedroom with ensuite, open plan living space with fully-equipped kitchen and lounge area. Wi-fi is included.
Llangarron is a quiet village with few amenities and we are situated at the end of a short country road approximately 3/4 mile from the centre of the village. We can offer a peaceful and relaxing place to stay yet we are only a few minutes from some excellent road links. The neighbouring village of Llangrove has a friendly country pub that serves food and welcomes visitors. The accommodation retains the original roof timbers and beams. Whilst the ceilings are high there are 2 beams which give are only approx 5'8'' above the floor. Previous guests invariably viewed these as part of the character of a traditional barn conversion.
We are in a quiet rural location and guests frequently comment on the tranquillity despite being close to good road links. As a consequence we generally have a good range of song birds, quiet lanes and traffic free footpaths to ensure you can relax and enjoy your stay. The market towns of Ross on Wye and Monmouth are equidistant in opposite directions and are approximately 5 miles away. The Lower Wye Valley region is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for very good reason. The traditional holiday activities of walking, cycling, canoeing, fishing, golf etc are all available locally. Places to visit - The Royal Forest of Dean with its wealth of wonderful scenery and social history. You can visit some local locations used to film some recent movies such as - Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which used Puzzlewood near Coleford or Coppett Hill which featured in a Harry Potter film. - Symonds Yat with it’s magnificent river views and famous Peregrine falcons, it also looks spectacular viewed from a canoe. Canoe trips are easy to organise from Ross on Wye or Monmouth. - The Dean Heritage Centre......... is worth a visit - The cathedral cities of Hereford and Gloucester. Hereford Cathedral houses the world famous mappa mundi Gloucester Cathedral was used as part of the set for the Harry Potter films - The Malvern Hills. - The River Severn (with its famous tidal wave – ‘The Severn Bore’). -The Welsh Borders, including the 'Book' town of Hay-on-Wye and the Brecon Beacons. -Goodrich Castle, plus other historical sites.
  • Mark’s place is lovely and cosy in a great rural location. The self check in was easy and convenient for us as we weren’t sure what time we were going to arrive. We loved that we could bring our dog as there were lots of walks and gorgeous surrounding countryside. It was great value for money and had everything we needed - thanks Mark!

  • My partner and I had a lovely weekend stay at foxwhelp. Mark is a great host who answered any questions we had and the accomodation was lovely and clean and filled with everything we needed, including cooking utensils, tea, coffee, sugar and milk. The surrounding area is very appealing if you prefer a quieter off the grid experience while still being a 5-10 minute drive from shops, pubs and gas stations. We really did have a wonderful time and fully recommend the property and Mark as a host. 😊

    Phoebe2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

And some wonderful welcoming touches. And the bed so comfy you will not want to get up! Great pubs around locally and very near to Ross On Wye and Hereford.

  • We stayed at Stef’s place to celebrate my partners birthday and we had such a lovely weekend- when we arrived Stef had left a cake from the local farm shop and candle so we could celebrate, such a lovely personal touch. The accommodation is beautiful with fantastic amenities and the location is excellent- such a short drive away from all the great places to explore in the Wye Valley including Symonds Yat and the Forest of Deane. Thanks so much for a great stay Stef!

    Rebecca2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed at Stef’s place last weekend and it was such a lovely getaway. The barn is so cosy, perfectly decorated and spotless. There were so many extra details that make this place so great, including a super comfy bed and a wonderful lemon drizzle cake left by the hosts. Location is great too, tucked away on a farm but only a short drive to Ross on Wye and some truly beautiful walks. All in all, couldn't ask for a nicer spot to spend a relaxed weekend!

    Amir2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. Very clean and thoughtful extra touches. We felt very welcome.

    Kerry2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, peaceful stay at the Hay Store. Really comfortable bed! Great location for visiting the surrounding area. Would highly recommend The Red Lion and The Lough Pool for food. Stephanie was a great host.

    Maria2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter booked this accommodation for a Birthday present for a weekend. Grove View Barn is situated in a beautiful and quiet location with easy access to surrounding places of interest. The Haystore where we resided was quaint, clean and very homely. This is attached to the main barn with good parking and easy access. Our host Stefanie greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome when she popped in shortly after our arrival. The Haystore is very charismatic and cosy throughout and has all the utilities that you would require for a pleasant stay. The Haystore comprises of a bedroom, walk in shower / ablutions and kitchen, dining and living area. During our stay we visited the Red Lion Pub that is within walking distance or very short drive. The food was excellent and nicely priced, well worth a visit. In the daytime we visited and walked the Sculpture Walk in the Forest of Dean and Goodrich Castle and had a Sunday Roast in the Lion Inn, Trellech. The local Pengethley Garden Centre is also worth a visit. On our return home my wife and I were impressed by the accommodation, friendliness and beautiful surroundings. We intend to return for another weekend. (Chloe's parents)

The self contained studio is a bright and airy space with underfloor heating throughout, featuring a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living area with large windows overlooking the beautiful garden and fields beyond. From the kitchen/dining one step leads down to the sitting area. From the sitting area, a door leads out onto a private patio with table, chairs, sunshade and charcoal barbecue. There is one bedroom with a king size bed, bedside tables and a large wardrobe, and an en-suite shower room with large shower, wash hand basin, toilet, mirror cabinet and magnifying mirror.
Langstone is a very quiet hamlet, with only a handful of houses scattered around. Neighbouring Langstone Court, a 16th Century country house, is open during the summer months on select days. Nearby Whitchurch has a charming village shop and café where you can have a leisurely Sunday breakfast or pick up freshly baked bread and croissants. There are a number of wonderful country pubs in the surrounding area, offering outstanding cuisine.
  • We have had an amazing week’s stay here. The Studio is so relaxing and comfortable, stylish and well situated. Views of the garden and watching all the birds really add to the pleasure of being there. We would recommend this without reservation, and hope to return.

Ingrid is a lovely host, not at all intrusive, and very welcoming. The bungalow is spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, the bed is very comfortable and made for a great night's sleep. Ideally situated for visiting

  • We have just come home from the most amazing stay at Ingrid's studio. The space is beautifully decorated, stylish with thoughtful touches & immaculately clean. There is everything you could possibly need for a home away from home and we enjoyed an evening out in the local area as much as we enjoyed a night in, cooking and taking in the peace of the surroundings. Ingrid was an exceptional host who was incredibly welcoming, but also gave us space to enjoy our stay. We honestly couldn't recommend the studio and the area enough. We wish we didn't have to tell anyone in case it gets too popular & we can't book a return trip! Thanks again, Ingrid.

  • Wisteria Cottage is a cosy, comfortable and well equipped cottage. We had a lovely week here; enjoyed eating outside in the courtyard, stargazing in the garden and just relaxing in the cottage. Gill is a friendly and helpful host. Llangrove is a beautiful village with nearby countryside walks and a fantastic local pub! It is well placed for visiting Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Forest of Dean and many more. I would recommend this cottage and hope to return at a later date.

  • A perfect base for exploring the Wye Valley and getting into Monmouth.

  • Wisteria Cottage is a beautiful converted barn with all the facilities you need. Located in the courtyard of the main house it has access to the garden and eating outside. Situated in the village, it is walkable to the local pub and close to Monmouth and Ross. But what really made our break was the hospitality of Gillian, nothing was too much trouble and the little extras were great. She really had thought of everything and such a lovely lady. We will definitely stay again.

    Linda2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian is a wonderful host - always there with helpful suggestions and local offers that we might be able to take advantage of. She was also respectful and didn't intrude - just right! It's a great location to explore the area, near to the Breacon Beacons and the Forest of Dean.

    Jeannette2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian was a great host, responding promptly to queries with helpful information before we arrived, and providing a smooth check in, with lots of additional thoughtful touches such as a fresh loaf of bread & eggs for us. She made it clear she was happy to be at hand if required but gave us plenty of space & privacy. The cottage had everything we needed & was very comfortable. It's cosy but didn't feel small and there was plenty of outside space which we were told we were welcome to use. It was a good base to use for walks, including Symonds Yat & the Forest of Dean, and there was even a friendly pub a few minutes walk away to provide a rewarding pint after clocking up the miles!

Purpose built annex (30 sq m), with its own entrance and central heating, in idyllic village location. The Annex is attached to a period stone-built house in large and interesting grounds (3.5 acres) set on a south facing slope with 2 ponds and a variety of specimen shrubs and trees. It is perfect for the solo traveller (tourist or business person) as a relaxing rural retreat, or a base to explore the wonderful local attractions, being only 2 miles west of A40. Basic price quoted is for 1 guest.
Llangrove (see www.llangrove.org.uk) is a quiet village with a church, primary school and a friendly country pub (within walking distance) that serves food and welcomes visitors. We are situated on the periphery of the village but less than 0.5km from the centre and the village hall. The Annex has its own entrance, sitting room with mini kitchen, bedroom and shower room. The mini IKEA kitchen includes microwave, refrigerator, and electric hob. Bedding and towels are provided including kitchen cloths etc. Robin and Francesca offer a peaceful and relaxing place to stay yet we are only a few minutes (2 miles) from some excellent road links, particularly the A40 with ready access to the M4 and M50.
Llangrove is almost centrally located between the 3 market towns of Ross on Wye, Hereford, and Monmouth; each being 10 to 20 minutes by car. The area has many attractions including the Wye Valley (eg Symonds Yat), the Brecon Beacons, Offa’s Dyke, and plenty of history and castles (eg Goodrich, Wilton, Skenfrith, Grosmont etc) to explore. • We stayed in Monmouth over night. Lovely town. Great pubs and a superb Italian restaurant. The room in Kate's bungalow was stylishly decorated including a very comfortable bed and we could use the bathroom (with in-bath shower) across the hallway. Tea and coffee and a kettle in the room. Less than 10 minutes walk into town. Good value. If we need to go to Monmouth again, Kate's place would be my first choice.

The cottage is a charming converted smithy barn located within easy access of the Wye Valley and Herefordshire countryside. The cottage has it's own private courtyard where you can relax and enjoy the BBQ and Fire Pit and pick your own figs from the mature fig tree that overhangs the balcony. Easy access to main routes means the cottage is an ideal base for the immediate local area as well as those a little further afield such as Wales.
The cottage has two bed rooms (upstairs), there is also a sofa bed in the main hallway downstairs. The Smithy is a Dog friendly property (court yard is fully enclosed). Parking for 3 cars outside the property. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, cooker, dishwasher and washing machine.
Across the road from the Smithy is the Harewood End Inn pub, which is open Tue - Sunday, they have an extensive menu and will do take away food as well! Pool table and beer garden (the bar area is dog friendly).
  • Really lovely property, stylish and yet full of character. Very helpful hosts, will definitely come back.

  • What can I say - an outstanding Airbnb stay and host from start to finish. The photos don’t do justice for the size and space of the cottage and it is beautifully decorated. Rachel was an incredible host from start to finish. Very communicative, quick to respond and great at going that extra mile. The little touches of amenities in the house like fresh bread, eggs, milk etc were a welcome addition. One of the best Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in as a family!

    Bethan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

This deceptively spacious Annexe has a kitchen area with a fridge, cooker, hob, toaster, kettle, microwave and enough utensils to make meals. With a shower and loo, the Annexe has its own heating so is quite cosy and comfortable. An ideal location for short breaks whether you wish to be active or just enjoy the peace and quiet and spectacular views. The River Wye is just a 10 min walk away and the Forest of Dean a short distance beyond. We supply all bedding and towels so you can travel light.
The Annexe is at the end of a single track road (with passing places) and the accommodation is reached via external stairs Rocklands Annexe is at the top of the hill overlooking the Wye valley and so the downhill walk (or drive) to reach the river will inevitably mean an uphill return! Three good Inns serve excellent food on the West side of the river with either a direct short ferry or a pleasant riverside walk to the Biblins footbridge leading you to more Inns and good eating on the East side of Symonds Yat
Rocklands Annexe is in an ideal location overlooking the River Wye and the Forest of Dean. The area is famous for its diversity of walking, running and cycling trails or for the more adventurous - local climbing Canoeing on River Wye is a very popular pursuit - with many local companies providing Canoe Hire and tuition. Most will transport you to a safe launch point at the start of a part or full day's expedition which can be taken leisurely or at a pace to suit yourselves
  • The views are amazing from the room, I can’t recommend this place enough!

    Chris2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a view! Excellent space. Private and everything you need including tips of the local area. Definitely recommend. And lovely hosts too. Thanks.

    Joseph2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe was lovely and the view to wake up to is absolutely stunning. Martin and Jude were great, attentive hosts who really made an effort to make everything perfect and that we made the most being in Symonds Yat. Would definitely recommend and we can't wait to come back!

    Charlotte2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks Martin & Jude for being such great hosts. Rocklands Annexe was the perfect place for a much needed break. A warm, comfortable and relaxing stay which ticked all the boxes. Stunning views of the Wye Valley offered a small glimpse of heaven. We couldn't have asked for more.

    Jon2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning annex in a perfect setting. The walk down to Symonds Yat is not for the faint hearted, but the views make it so worth it. Martin and Judy had thought of everything and we had the best weekend. Definitely recommend!

    Cara2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional hosts and a truly wonderful place to stay. The weather was atrocious when we stayed but the Annexe was so cosy and the view was so stunning it was hard to leave anyway! So much thought has gone into this place and Martin & Judy were so welcoming and helpful. We look forward to returning in (hopefully) better weather!

    Jemma2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We were delighted with every aspect of Rocklands. It's an absolutely beautiful annexe. Jude and Martin are great hosts, quick to correspond and very welcoming when we arrived. Waking up to such an incredible vista took our breath away and the location allowed us to explore an area of the river Wye that was wonderfully unspoilt. If you choose to eat out the local hostelries offer a good standard of food and drink; you get a really good workout on the way back uphill to the annexe!

  • We have just spent 2 days at The Smithy Cottage which is set in a lovely, peaceful location about 15 minutes from Ross on Wye and Monmouth. The space is ideal for 2-4 people with good sized bedrooms and living/dining area. The cottage is cosy and very well presented with all the amenities you need. Sarah is a great host and was available to answer any questions we had. This was our second visit to the area and would be our first choice of accommodation for any future stays. A little gem! Decorated to a high standard. We would highly recommend.

The Old Dairy is a cosy , spacious self contained annex to our beautiful Georgian farmhouse. It is situated on our working farm in stunning, peaceful Herefordshire. It is conveniently situated just off the A49 at the end of our farm drive.
The Old Dairy comprises a small entrance hall with coat hanging space and shoe rack leading into the lounge with 2 seater sofa and arm chair. There is a table and 2 chairs under the window so that you can eat your breakfast and enjoy the view. The Old Dairy now has its own internet connection so enjoys reasonable download speed. There is a smart TV in the lounge so that guests can enjoy catch up TV etc. There is a king size bed in the bedroom which will split into 2 x 3' single beds if required. The bathroom has a walk in shower and the whole property has under floor heating which makes it very cosy! The fully equipped kitchen allows you to be completely self sufficient if you wish to cook for yourselves. The accommodation is on one level and is suitable for those with mobility issues.
The farm is situated in beautiful countryside. Pengethley Park, which is National Trust land, is accessed directly from the farm and is a lovely place to walk. Our sheep and cattle graze there and the ancient church of St. Dubricius nestles at the bottom of the park. The River Wye is a short walk of 3 miles & you can take a pit stop at The Lough Pool Inn should you need refreshments. The Red Lion is a short walk away & provides good pub food. The Welsh borders are a treasure trove of castles, gardens & National Trust properties with something for everyone. The beautiful Forest of Dean is a short drive away & I can recommend tea at The Speech House Hotel. The market town of Monmouth is only 10 miles from the farm & has an interesting selection of shops, cafes & restaurants. The Savoy Theatre holds regular showing of films, live music & plays. There is ample on farm parking & safe, secure storage for bikes and canoes if required.

  • We came to the forest of dean for the first time and had an amazing stay at the old dairy. The accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed (including great kitchen facilities). Sue was very welcoming and friendly and we felt we could contact her any time during our stay. The location was great and we loved being so close to many of the attractions the forest of dean has to offer. We particularly enjoyed visiting symonds yat rock, may hill and monmouth. There are lots of pubs nearby and it’s easy to get to shops and amenities. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the old dairy. Thanks Sue!!!

  • We had a fantastic weekend break at Susan’s lovely cottage. The space was beautifully decorated and we were very comfortable. We had great fun exploring nearby towns and sampling cider at Weston’s Cider Mill. Thank you for a great stay!

The Annex at Meredith Barns. Enjoy a peaceful stay in our characterful and spacious cottage nestled in the pretty Herefordshire village of Llancloudy. Within easy driving distance to Monmouth, Symonds Yacht, Ross on Wye and Hereford. Dogs are very welcome but please keep them on a lead outside the property. We look forward to welcoming you!
  • A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the views. Lovely hosts who were helpful beforehand and very welcoming on arrival. Really nice extra touches with a welcome basket full of goodies including prosecco, jams, ginger cake, chocolate and even treats for our dog! Although the weather wasn't too good, the paddock next to the main house provided a great space to let the dog run around - thank you! Monmouth itself is only ten minutes drive away and we enjoyed plenty of visits to dog friendly shops, cafes and pubs.

Tucked away in the woods, Sacred Tree Spirit is a beautifully quirky escape from the stresses of modern life. Jon is a sound therapy practitioner and craftsman, so you could have a relaxing sound session or learn to make a spoon during your stay. There are all manner of interesting details in the house and in the grounds, a fire pit and wood fired spa pool are amongst them. A sculpture trail is an upcoming project. This unique place to stay might interest someone ready to rekindle creativity.
  • Jon and Michelle were exceptional hosts. They made us feel welcome, guided us to the pub and local caves and made the most delicious pancakes. We would highly recommend a stay here.

  • Such a beautiful retreat in the woods! Quiet and close to nature, the surrounding area is stunning and great for walking around the valley. Great pubs by the river too that do lovely food!

    Kylan2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jon’s place is a fantastic, peaceful woodland retreat! Exactly as advertised. Perfect for a relaxing getaway or adventure in the Wye valley. Just a short walk away from many of the hiking trails that run all the way along the river and right next to some excellent pubs in Symonds Yat. The location couldn’t be any more perfect. Jon was a fantastic host during my stay. He even drew a detailed map to help me with my walk to the pub on the first day. I would highly recommend staying here and have already planned to go back myself!

    Andrew2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, quirky woodland retreat. There really is no place quite like it. Jon is incredibly helpful and friendly and has great knowledge of the local area and the best places to walk in the surrounding woods. He and his partner went out of their way to accommodate me at short notice and make me welcome. Home cooked meals are offered for an extra small fee: home from home! But of a magic place really. Would definitely visit again.

Come enjoy the spectacular River Wye from our comfortable chalet offering wonderful views, great walking, biking and canoeing on your doorstep. We are within easy walking distance of 5 pubs and restaurants. We have everything you might need for a lovely self catering holiday with accommodation for up to 4 people having a double bedroom and two sofa beds. We are next door if you forgot or need anything. Dogs are acceptable with prior arrangement and an extra £5/night/dog. No parties.
The chalet is cozy, comfortable and you feel very connected to the out-of-doors as there are fantastic views from every room. There is a double bedroom and extra sleeping accommodation with a sofa that converts to a single bed and a futon sofa into a double bed. Both are very comfortable. We often sit outside just watching the weather, birds and life pass us by. Guests are welcome to use the flat lawn area in front of the chalet to bask in the sun, enjoy the evening air (in front of and left of the bench in the third picture). For those rainy days, you can curl up and watch programmes on the Smart TV while watching the weather happen on the river and hills of the valley. We have gas BBQ that can be used by prior arrangement and a fire bowl that can be used with either charcoal or wood. Upon reqest, we can provide an iron/ironing board and may be able to arrange access to our washer and dryer. Please note the following: The ceilings are low, but this is offset by the large windows bringing in the light and great views (take a look at the pictures). Access to the chalet is an unpaved footpath leading up hill from the car parking area to the elevated position of the chalet. We do not require a security deposit at this time. However, this means that we are fully reliant on our guests to be honest about breakage, spillage and damage so that we can resolve when you check out.
We are next to Ye Old Ferrie Inn, Paddocks Hotel and just down the lane from Wye Knott pub. A short walk away is The aMazing Hedge Puzzle with a butterfly museum, crazy golf and laser tag. There is also an arcade and bar on the nearby caravan park and a restaurant and bar at the Old Court Hotel. In Whitchurch (10-15 minute walk) is the village shop/cafe, The Potting Shed cafe/restaurant and a The Crown curry restaurant and pub. A lovely 45min walk or a much shorter rope ferrie ride takes you to the other side of the river where you can hike up to Yat Rock where the Peregrine falcons can be seen. There are pubs, restaurants and other amenities there too.
  • Lovely chalet in a great location- all round a great stay.

The hosts are really kind and helpful and gave us great tips on how to get around. The chalet is beautifully clean and well presented and the welcome basket is a great touch. We intend to visit again some time and will look up Maureen’s chalet before anything else.

  • We had a brief but very enjoyable stay with Janee and Nigel. The space was lovely, warm and very comfortable with a fridge, microwave and DIY breakfast. Janee was a very amiable host and we will definitely be back when we are in the area, hopefully for longer next time! Highly recommend.

    Thomas2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Janee and Nigel were great hosts. Janee had lit the fire ahead of our arrival to make it a very warm welcome. Breakfast was a lovely touch - with fresh bread and a selection of cereals - plus tea/coffee/juice to enjoy. The cottage has a cosy feel and had off street parking. The bathroom/shower room was clean and perfectly fine. There are a few pubs/coffee shops within walking distance and access to footpaths for decent walking in the area. It was a great stay and would recommend to others.

  • If you are looking for a chilled, relaxing getaway, this little gem is a great choice! The guest suite was cosy and comfortable, just what we needed for a little break before Christmas. Janee was quick to respond to messages and she was accommodating with requests (we had to check-in an hour earlier), which was handy when you have a little one. She also has a selection of games which we played in front of the fire most nights.

    Michael2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay, just off the A40. The place was very clean, the hosts very hospitable and welcoming and our privacy respected. The fire was lit as arrived and a box of logs was provided both evenings that we stayed. Breakfast facilities were provided (cereals, fresh bread, milk, toaster, kettle, microwave etc), as well as cutlery and crockery. Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, perfect for a few nights stay. Hosts were very communicative before arriving and full of helpful tips of the local area. 5*.

  • Stayed for a few days here and really liked it. All the reviews were spot on. The cottage is really lovely. We arrived and went out to do local sights and used the brand new swimming pool sauna steam rooms at Monmouth which was great to relax after walking in the area. Definitely recommend this place. Thankyou Mark for such a straight forward stay.

  • A lovely cottage in a quiet, yet not isolated spot. The kitchen is well equipped, and the french doors onto the garden make it feel very airy. We stayed in the heatwave with two children and our dog, and the stone walls were great insulation, providing a cool welcome when we got back after a day exploring. The patio is a sun trap, great for relaxing when the kids are in bed. The beds provided a great nights sleep for all, and the pub in the next village is a free house with hearty English food. We could have spent a week here easily, and will be back!

Granton Coach House in Goodrich is in the grounds of our house in a quiet part of the village. Accommodation for 2 people is on the first floor of the building. Many original features have been retained and it's very well equipped to make your stay comfortable. A home from home! We like to welcome guests personally so can offer advice on places to visit, places to dine. There's a wealth of info/leaflets on local walks, cycle and canoe hire etc. The Wye Valley is beautiful at all times of year.
We renovated the coach house with an aim to transform it into an attractive living space for our guests to relax in and enjoy. Several original features still are evident such as the floor and the beams. At one time the coach house had been used by a governess to a young girl living in the main house. We are lucky enough to know a lot of history of the property and have photos depicting that time and these are displayed by the dining area. There is an open plan well equipped kitchen, living, dining space and a bedroom with a super-king bed, wardrobe with hanging and shelf space. A hairdryer and a fan are also provided. The ensuite shower/WC is roomy and the vanity unit has cupboard space. There is a cosy wood-burner in the lounge and central heating throughout. The washing machine and iron and ironing board is in the utility room just off the veranda. The veranda is a perfect place to sit and listen to birdsong. Apart from the TV with Freeview, there are a few board and card games. WIFI is available for our guests to use in the property. All bed linen is fine Egyptian cotton and is provided as well as hand and bath white fluffy towels.Tea towels, dish cloths, paper towels etc are also in the kitchen.
The Wye Valley is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Goodrich is a lovely village conveniently situated between Ross on Wye (just off the M50) and Monmouth just off the A40 and so is ideally placed for visiting the The Forest of Dean, The Brecon Beacons, including Hay on Wye (famous for its literary festival), Abergaenny (famous for its food festival) ,The Malvern Hills (famous for RHS Flower Shows), Hereford, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cardiff and Bristol etc.
  • A lovely, well appointed place for 2 people, with en suite bath room , with large comfortable living room / kitchen area which provided ample cooking equipment and space. A small patio with BBQ is also available for when the weather is more appropriate than we had. Although Liz was away during our stay, she made sure someone was available to provide anything we needed. Ruth and I would highly recommend The Coach House, and will be looking to return in the future

Our hosts kindly left some delicious fresh eggs and fruit and they provide much interesting and useful local information. It is a quiet location but with easy access to the lovely Wye Valley. The food at the local pub, The Hostelrie, was excellent. So much to enjoy on your doorstep

  • The Coach house is a real home from home. It’s clean, pretty and everything has been thought of. You’ll want for nothing. There’s parking right outside, access on arrival was easy, the bed was huge and super comfortable, nice shower and plenty of hot water. We were given some eggs and fresh fruit too which was lovely. Goodrich itself is very well situated for exploring the Wye Valley. Would highly recommend the Coach House.

  • A beautiful and romantic property surrounded by gorgeous countryside. We had a lovely time enjoy the peaceful grounds and wider area. The house had everything we needed including a bottle of of the estate wine! Bear in mind this is an older property which can get cold in winter so bring appropriate clothes.

    Ed2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jamie was wonderfully accommodating with quick responses and flexibility from the start, and made us feel very much at home. At late notice he found us a space on his wine tour (which was fantastic) and allowed us to check out late. Please do try the wine from their vineyards - it's deserving of the award-winning status. The location is stunning and a short drive to the Forest of Dean where we went on long walks. The accommodation is set in wonderful grounds with a lake and large tudor house. Definitely a great experience I'd recommend to anyone. Thanks Jamie!!!

  • After such a warm welcome from Jamie we had an amazing couple of days stay. The accommodation is packed with historic charm and the surroundings are beautiful! Plenty of picturesque walks to keep to dog entertained.

  • Tranquil - historic surrounds in a great location. A real olde-world feel. The bottle of wine grown by Jamie in the vineyard was a lovely welcome gift.

    Neil2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning house and the location is beautiful. If we’d have planned better we would have gone exploring. Jamie couldn’t have been more helpful and is a fantastic host. The cottage we stayed in was lovely, lots of character and spotlessly clean. Bear in mind this is an extremely old property so there are some creaky floorboards, but for us it just added to the stay. If you can, organise a wine tour at the property with Jamie; the wines are truly delicious!!!

  • Booked for a 40th birthday treat weekend and had a fantastic time! Superb hospitality from our hosts with great tips for eating out (The Loughpool Inn in Sellack and Number 3 in Ross on Wye were great but do need booking well in advance), as well as amazing home cooked breakfasts (choose from a large and varied menu with the choice of having it delivered to your accommodation to be enjoyed in bed or the option of eating in the conservatory dining room) with fresh duck eggs daily from the resident ducks along with locally sourced bacon/sausage etc. The accommodation was spotless and had all the facilities you would expect (WiFi, Hairdryer, Towels etc) along with some added extras (a large selection of DVD's, books, local guides and leaflets, directory of Taxi numbers and a selection of board games). Couldnt have asked for more The location is also great for exploring the local area and is only a £6.00 taxi ride to Ross if you fancy a night out too. A great base from which to enjoy the beautiful Wye Valley.

  • From the start of our trip we were made to feel very welcome. Edward contacted us to let us know when the room was ready incase we wanted to check in early which was very helpful. When we arrived at the barn, there was a welcome hamper full of all tea, coffee and some home made treats which was lovely. Edward popped by to check everything was okay and helped us with the WiFi. As it was New Years he gave us some sparkling wine to toast in the new year. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

It's also really well located, with beautiful countryside and walking right outside the door, and heaps of great attractions only a short drive away.

  • Brown's cottage and garden are beautiful, comfortable and well maintained. We were awestruck when we drove in and saw it. It was even better than shown in the pictures. The location is quiet, looking out over fields and we could see and hear lambs. The lawn is great for kids to play. The conservatory is large and warm, with awesome views and a table. There are an outside table and chairs also. Upstairs the three bedrooms were comfortable and well furnished. The cottage just feels like a perfect blend of the old and new. What a Gem to stay there in such easy access to all the Wye Valley has to offer.

  • Lovely old house with bags of character. Large room with a great little ensuite and a sofa. The house is a short walk into town with plenty of places to eat and drink. We ate at The Royal and had a good meal at a reasonable price. Unfortunately we did not have much time to explore Ross so its a good excuse to go back and have another stay!

    Julie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is beautiful and the hospitality superb and the amenities just right. It is just a few minutes walk from Ross town centre and some nice eating places. We were made to feel at home straight away and enjoyed some good conversation with our hosts. I would recommend the Victorian house.

  • Lovely, comfortable room in a very welcoming household. Lots of lovely touches in case you’ve forgotten anything and a real eye to detail. Just what I needed, on an all too short visit to Herefordshire. Thank you.

  • We've stayed here several times now, its our 'go to' in Ross on Wye. Great local tips, very comfortable room, excellent hosts, just need to fix the weather!

  • Sumptuous house in a great location that is easy walking distance of town centre. Lynn, Ed and the labs made us feel so welcome, and we look forward to staying again.

  • Lovely couple and a beautiful house. Lynn and Ed were attentive when we needed them, but gave us our privacy also. I would recommend them.

    Helen2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn and Ed's home is beautiful - and their welcome and attention to detail wonderful. (We also loved their two gorgeous labradors!) The situation is perfect - very easy to find and with secure parking. Our room had everything we needed, incuding mini fridge with fresh milk for drinks, and was spacious and comfortable; there was a settee and television (perfect, as we happened to be there the weekend of the rugby world cup semi finals). The pub across the road apparently does not serve food (we did not check this out) but the centre of Ross is very close and we found a lovely Italian restaurant for dinner on Saturday evening. NB some other restaurants were fully booked, so it might be worth reserving a table in advance if you plan to visit at the weekend. (Although, it would also have been possible to have take-away food in our room.) Sunday breakfast was good and we had chance to meet the other couple staying that weekend as well as talk with Lynn and Ed, who are delightful. We were able to stay and watch the rugby before leaving about 11am - there was no case of having to rush to check-out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Lynn and Ed and will pass their Airbnb details on to friends/family.
