Places to stay in Llangadog
A comfortable single room in a detached house situated in a small Welsh village with all amenities close by. The village has a shop and a train station (Heart of Wales line) and many lovely walks. The area is set within the pretty Cambrian and Black mountains offering waterfalls, bike rides and mountain walks and the magnificent Brecon Beacons are also within a 20 minute drive.
A single room, but I have a spare mattress should a second person wish to stay too, although the bed will be on the floor.

A cosy 3 storey, 3 bedroom townhouse with all modern facilities in the centre of Llandeilo, walking distance to Dinewr Park, Dinefwr Castle, NT's Newton House, the Towy River and its historical bridge as well all the lovely shops, cafes and pubs. I only take one booking at a time regardless of the number of rooms booked so there is no sharing.
The house is part of a former Auction House which has been converted into a courtyard of 6 terraced stone town houses, individually painted with slate roofs. Each room is well presented and all modern facilities are available.
The Welsh love to chat so call into any cafe, pub or restaurant and you will feel at home. Llandeilo is a very welcoming town to visitors. We are also a short drive to The National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, Carreg Cennen and Dryslwyn Castles, The Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the West Wales coast with its lovely beaches. From my house you can walk to Dinefwr Castle ( 1 hour round trip), and in town The Gin Haus, Cawdor Hotel, Angel Hotel and The White Horse ( local brewery) are all within a 5 minute walk.
  • A lovely, comfortable, clean and very well presented home with every amenity you could need . The breakfast provisions were a welcome extra. Parking right outside. Very conveniently located in town centre and near to several parks, gardens and castles.Great stay!

  • The town house was really comfortable and super clean. It was so well equipped with food, drinks, toiletries and everything had been thought of! Perfect location too. Would definitely recommend.

  • We had a lovely stay at Dawn's house in Llandeilo – it's clean, comfortable and cosy. We'd recommend it to anyone. Dawn sent helpful directions prior to our trip, and left nice touches on our arrival. We didn't have much opportunity to explore the town of Llandeilo itself, but it looked lovely. The National Botanic Gardens are also nearby, which was great for kids.

    S2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dawn’s place was decorated so beautifully. It was comfortable and clean and the town is small and charming.

    Walter2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house is tucked away nicely in the town of Llandeilo, within easy reach of amenities and main roads. The house is warm, clean, comfortable and full of many extra bits and pieces that make your holiday special and more enjoyable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to cook evening meals, dawn has provided a breakfast tray with cereals, jams and teas/coffees. The living room was very comfortable and if you get time there is sky TV available. The bedroom was a good size, very comfortable and I slept very well here. There is a courtyard garden and two parking spaces making this very convenient if you have a dog or muddy boots. The price and location make this place a must visit. Highly recommend and will definitely look to go back.

Fresh clean accommodation, tucked away up in the hills with fantastic views across the Brecon Beacons National Park. We have a 12 acre smallholding with a flock of Black Welsh Mountain Sheep and 2 delightful Pygmy Goats. It’s the perfect location to watch the magnificent red kite birds of prey soaring above. The accommodation is self-contained with it’s own entrance. It’s part of the farmhouse where your hosts, Ken and Sue, live. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise.
There is a strong 4G mobile phone signal at the property but currently no WiFi. There’s a small TV and DVD player with a selection of DVD’s. You are welcome walk around our land and woods, but please leave all gates as you found them.
We are in a very quiet rural location, so its a great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. Our nearest neighbours are a 10 minute walk across the fields. You won’t hear any traffic only birdsong and bleating sheep. The views from the property are spectacular. The nearest town is Llandovery which is about 6 miles away. It has 3 cafe’s, several pubs serving delicious good value food, a proper fish & chip shop, Indian and Chinese takeaways, a couple of small supermarkets, doctor/dentist and pharmacy. The nearest shop for milk, bread, chocolate etc is the Village Shop in Llanwrda, 1.5 miles away. There is also a good cafe in Llanwrda serving delicious breakfasts and lunch. Llandeilo is around 8 miles away and offers more than Llandovery for shopping, but if you are looking for “High Street” shops you will have to go to Carmarthen which is about 17 miles away.
  • Sue and Ken are great hosts being on hand to help with any queries. Their property was lovely. Everything was sparkling clean. It is in a beautiful location. We really enjoyed our stay and they definitely deserve the 5 stars we gave them.

    Jayne2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's Place is a really fab find. The accommodation was exactly as I had hoped, in fact even better because everything seemed either new or very well looked after. We hardly saw anyone the entire weekend but it was great knowing that Sue was just next door if we needed her. What really took us by surprise is the views from the land, which you can walk all around. There is a little woodland area at the back of the house that takes you up even higher and you can walk all the way down the lane and through an avenue of hazels to the river. It is incredibly peaceful. Could not fault it at all and will be recommending to friends.

    Clare2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had the perfect stay at Sue's. The annex is warm and cosy with great facilities. After a very long blustery day walking The Brecons it was lovely to get back to. The bed was extremely comfy and my husband and I slept very well. We very much I joyed watching the pigmy goats play, all the animals were very friendly. Its a great spot, we highly recommend!

The Half Moon is an ex-pub, 10 mins walk from the station, in a conservation area on a street where once 18 pubs served passing drovers. An eco-venue, we offer vegan options, PV panels, rainwater collection, EV charging & grow some food. You can buy all you need very nearby in local boutique shops, incl. newsagent, patisserie, P.O, butcher, shoe, hardware, gift & organic wholefood shops. Great cafes, eateries & pubs are in easy walking distance –even a place where the first cheque was written!
The Half Moon is much larger inside than it seems on the outside, with a beautiful, calm feeling, spacious rooms and pleasant garden. Make yourself at home.
Llandovery is a lovely market town sandwiched between the spectacular Brecon Beacons National Park and little explored but equally amazing Cambrian Mountains. Its name means Church of the Waters, since several rivers meet here. A Roman settlement, it's not far from the gold mines and the hideout of Twm Siôn Cati, known as the Welsh Robin Hood.
  • A friendly welcome at a clean and natural home environment.

    John2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • David was such a good host, he had so much knowledge of the local area and let us borrow a map for a route we hadnt thought about. The room was lovely and the bed super comfy if a little creaky. The whole house was beautiful and pancho the cat is adorable.

    Ali2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • David's place is a unique, special house. He has a very big kitchen where we could make tea/coffee and have breakfast if wanted. There's also a lounge for guests to use with a TV. Llandovery is a very nice small town and the house is very close to everything. It would be a great place to explore from.

    Anne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A clean and very interesting house and its owner. An old pub changed to a house with upstairs bedroom, bathroom and drying room and downstairs spacious, fully equipped kitchen we could use. We were greeted in person by David and shown everything in his house, this personal touch made our stay a delight. Thanks David!

  • Helen's place is a little gem. I booked this for my daughters birthday to switch off and enjoy some time together. The hut has everything you need, and the log burner makes it very cosy indeed. The welshcakes, fresh eggs and BBQ pack were great. The books and games kept us entertained for hours. The hot shower was a real treat. We hope to visit Helen and her family again, not forgetting all of the friendly animals too.

    Sabina2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a place. We’ve had such a restful stay. Due to a storm we arrived later than planned so Helen lit the fire and a candle, and put hot water bottles in the bed for us. Such lovely thoughtful touches. The cabin is super cosy, has everything you need, and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The home made welsh cakes on arrival were lovely, and coupled with the amazing welcome we received made the stay awesome. I would definitely stay again. We went for dinner locally to the Angel and that was lovely. But just being able to switch off, and enjoy the tranquility was a wonderful but very rare treat. Thank you so much Helen.

  • Accommodation is in a great location and was lovely with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Andrea and Ron are lovely hosts and I can highly recommend.

    Sally2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea and Ron's place was fantastic. We only stayed for 1 night but were warmly welcomed on our arrival by Andrea. We had a delicious breakfast using the fresh eggs and on checking out had a lovely chat with Ron about our travels and the farm. We hope to stay again one day.

    Alison2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really nice stay in the house, it was so spacious inside especially downstairs with the open plan kitchen/living area and great views out onto the land from the decking. Andrea and Ron were very welcoming and friendly and the place had everything we needed for the weekend - well kitted out kitchen. Our dog really enjoyed his stay too - liked looking out from the balcony - and there's a perfect secure area for toileting at night too.

Everyone welcome to stay in this characterful 260 year old stone farmhouse overlooking the beautiful hills and valleys of the Black Mountains. You'll be warmly welcomed by the host with a generous cup of tea or coffee.............
The location is in the far north western corner of the Brecon Beacons National Park with stunning views of the hills and easy access to the nearest towns of Llandovery, Brecon and Llandeilo as well as the mountains, lakes and rivers. The house itself is set on a hillside down a quiet and remote country lane surrounded by the beauty of nature - the only sounds coming from the leaves rustling in the wind, the water from the small waterfalls in the stream and the abundance of birds and wildlife. This is an area where we try and keep it part of the Dark Skies Reserve so at night there is total darkness where you can see a million stars. A place to relax, revitalise your soul, rejuvenate your energies and immerse yourself in peace, tranquillity and beauty.
These rural lanes are very quiet and walkable with extremely few if no traffic at all - mainly the postman once every few days. Just a few hundred metres down into the valley from the house there is a bridge straddling a river which will soon have salmon swimming through it. The nearest village (approx 4miles) has a very helpful Tourist Information Centre, some interesting shops and a stunning stainless steel statue of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan on the remnants of Llandovery Castle (1116) - a must to be seen at night! There's The Bear Inn in the Market Square for lunch or evening meal or The Old Post Shop for delicious hand-made chocolates, gifts or coffees. There's two larger eateries, take aways, an Indian and Chinese, numerous pubs, a Post Office and Library. Further affield you have Myddfai (where Prince Charles has his famous B & B); near Llangadog you have the mountains of Lyn-y-Fan Fach from the famous Lady of the Lake folk lore who gave birth to the Physicians of Mydffai; then you have the road through Llangadog and up onto the mountains and over to Brynaman - totally awe inspiring and even better if you turn down one of the side lanes and let the adventures begin.....and so much more to explore!
  • I had a wonderful experience staying at Tilly's place and spent a great time with Tilly for a week in her unique stone house in Wales. The room I stayed was very clean, spacious, and comfortable with an amazing view of natural landscape. Tilly is very kind, sweet, and considerably caring with a heart-warming hospitality as well as her wisdom. I recommend Tilly's place for Airbnb guests who are seeking for a quite, peaceful, and unique cottage retreat to experience a taste of Wales.

  • A beautiful, peaceful and remote rural location. Sparkling clean, friendly and helpful. A perfect retreat.

    Greg2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my overnight stay here. It's an old traditional farmhouse, very tastefully decorated and furnished and guests can use the kitchen for cooking and dining. Tilly was very welcoming and informative and the room was great. As a cyclist, the only thing which would have made it even better would be provision of a cooked breakfast, as the house is three miles or so from Llandovery. But i would highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay in a quiet location.

    Bryn2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • If it's peace and quiet you're after, you will find no better location. Couple that with an excellent host, comfortable bed and you have 5 star accommodation at a superb price. Don't forget the wonderful spring water out of the taps. What's not to like?

The barn/craft studio is situated in a corner of a field with only a river between the property and the open moorlands of the Brecon Beacons. It's tranquil setting makes it an ideal getaway/retreat.
This space is ideal for small families with children over the age of 8yrs, the open stair case/mezzanine floor being the only obstacle for younger children.
The hamlet of Rhosamman is nestled between two villages, Cwmllynfell and Brynamman and sits right on the the Brecon Beacons with its breathtaking scenery. The vast open moorlands attracts travellers of all interests from walkers, cyclists, and motor vehicle enthusiast. The friendly Welsh speaking community is welcoming to visitors. The nearest shopping area is Ystradgynlais (10-15 mins) which is small yet characterful and has a number of pubs, cafes, independent shops and a bank.
  • 5* throughout. The space was instantly welcoming to be greeted with a warm wood burner and we fell in love with the accommodation and setting. It was unexpected that the fridge be stocked with milk and other bits, fresh bread on the counter and even access to some lovely local beers! Everything was beautifully clean, it was appreciated to have access to Wifi and to be provided with towels and other toiletries. I am sure that we will be back again in the near future.

The place is cozy, comfortable and has every thing you need. Helen is an amazing host. Very welcoming and friendly. The hospitality was also great with fresh eggs, bread, milk and juice wait in the fridge. If you want to relax in Wales for a weekend I’d highly recommend this place.

Set in the heart of Wales, the home is ideally located for those ready to get away from it all and to enjoy a true Welsh holiday. Guests will find a peaceful family home which will always provide a warm and stress-free welcome at the end of your day. The home away from home is ideal for walkers, cyclists, couples and families. A real hidden gem!
The home is on the edge of the small picturesque town of Llandovery. The town centre is minutes walk from my front door as is the town rail station on the Heart of Wales railway line. The large bedroom is warm and clean with a beautiful view; there is ample storage space for belongings. The garden backs onto a footpath that can be followed down to the banks of the River Towy, under 2 minutes walk away! There is a 3/4 size snooker table in the home with chalk, cues and balls. Full signal and Wifi is available throughout the property. There is off-road parking available. Smoking is allowed outside the house in the rear garden. The house is centrally heated and laundry is available for those staying a minimum of three nights.
There are a number of charming little shops and a selection of pubs and restaurants in Llandovery to spend an evening. Llandovery’s unique location makes it the perfect place for you to base yourself for your Welsh holiday. The following are just some of the places to visit, the driving time there is in brackets. To the North….... Cwm-Rhaedyr red route Mountain Biking (15min) Mountain Bike Rider magazine quoted it has “one of the best trails we’ve ridden anywhere in the UK” Dolaucothi Gold Mines (20min) The ancient Roman Gold Mines are great for adults and kids. Twm Sion Cati Nature Reserve and Cave (20min) My favourite walk in the local area! Walk along the boardwalk in thick woods rife with bird species to a circular walk, and the "cave" where the Welsh Robin Hood used to hide from the law! Llyn Brianne Dam (30min) There are numerous walks around and across the huge Dam wall in the foothills of the Elan Valley. Elan Valley (1hr) A walker’s and cyclist’s dream. The stunning Elan Valley is criss-crossed with trails for all levels and abilities. To the East........... Brecon Beacons and Pen-y-Fan (30min) The spectacular Brecon Beacons is on the doorstep. A half hour drive to the highest mountain in South Wales, Pen-y-Fan is also a must! Usk reservoir (30min) A great place for a picnic, numerous trails go around the lake. A good point to begin and end a day’s hiking. Llangorse lake riding and climbing centre (40min) Perfect for kids of all ages. I used to take my boys there for their birthday every year, perfect for a rainy day! The Big Pit Museum (1hr 10min) A great chance to understand the history of South Wales by going down a Welsh mine, with underground tours. To the South and West............ Red Kite feeding station (15min) A good place to stop off at on the way to or back from a day on the Black Mountain or up Llyn-y-Fan Fach. National Trust Property Dinefwr House and Castle (20 mins) Beautiful walk from the grounds of the country estate to the castle through a deer park. The house is perfect for a rainy day. Black Mountain, (25min) The Black Mountain is a great ascent on a clear day. Talley Abbey and Nature Reserve (25min) The Abbey itself is in ruins now but the walks around the Nature Reserve are beautiful. Dan yr Ogof Caves (30 min) Spend a day at one of the largest cave systems in Europe. There are loads of great walks in the surrounding mountains too. Castles: Carrig Cennen, Dinefwr, Dryslwyn (30min). Wales has more castles per square mile than anywhere in the world! Carrig Cennen is just a short drive away and in my view is the best of the bunch! Llyn-y-Fan Fach (30min) An absolutely incredible walk to a lake which sits in the shadow of the mountain summit. The lake itself is the subject of the Lady of the Lake legend. The views from the summit are well worth the hike. National Botanic Gardens (35min) Llansteffan Beach (50min) A personal favourite of mine as you can walk around the headland of the beach and up to a castle that looks out over the estuary. Dylan Thomas Boathouse (55min) The boathouse in Laugharne where Dylan penned his poems is a wonderful change from the hills and mountains of mid Wales. The town of Laugharne is beautiful and has some lovely walks along the coastal path. There are also plenty of wonderful trails around Llandovery for those who don't want to venture too far from the house. I'm happy to show you on a map all my favourite trails around the local area!

My Mountain View glamping pod is situated overlooking the Black Mountains at the Southern tip of the Brecon Beacons National Park, offering the best glamping experience and a true opportunity to experience nature in luxury. Located on a working hill farm guests can find excellent way-marked walks that start right from the door. The outdoor heated hot tub overlooks the mountains and is perfect for either a romantic break or just a well needed escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Set between the trees inside the pod you will find a self contained kitchen, shower room, dining area and a comfy double bed along with satellite TV & DVD player. Traditional charm and a warm Welsh welcome guaranteed...this is truly glamping at its best!! PLEASE NOTE: The hot tub has recently been upgraded to a fully heated electric one with jets and lights! • Absolutely amazing. Took my partner away for his birthday and we both loved it. Gorgeous location, very private, really helpful (but not at all intrusive) hosts who gave us great tips of where to go for nice meals and the sights to see, hot tub was glorious even in the rain, all round great trip! Thank you!

    Ani2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location if you're into your walking! But also a brilliant place to just chill for a few days, especially with the hot tub. Friendly and informative host. The Glamping Pod was probably the best equipped my partner and I have stayed in, lovely space. Great touch having some prosecco and breakfast items too!

  • A lovely place to stay if you want some quiet away from the busy towns. The accommodation was really lovely, lovely hosts. In the town everyone is really nice helpful. We enjoyed really much our stay there. Definitely will be going back 😊

    Petra2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place! Enjoyed everything there is about this perfect little retreat. Kieran and his mum were so welcoming and friendly, giving you everything you could ask for & also hints and tips for things to do and places to eat. The place itself is gorgeous, homey and an absolute delight to stay in!! Words do not do this place justice!! We would be back to stay again in a heartbeat.

    Emily2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing bad to say about this place. From the bottle of prosecco left on the table to the hot tub that was waiting for us to jump in even though we were late (close to 10pm), every box was ticked . The storm made our stay even more adventurous as the strong winds felt like they would take the little pod flying. The mattress was extra soft and that's where my back felt neglected, but this is a personal preference and I don't expect to have it catered everywhere i go. Who enjoys sleeping on a cloud will definitely be happy here. The tub never went under 35°c event after we sat in it during the cold rain for more then 45 minutes. Don't let the bad wether scare you ( we went during a storm) and we were still able to explore the area as google maps will guide you to good parking sports to visit the waterfalls in the area. Kieran, thanks again for everything. We had a chance to meet someone on our way out as we was gone for most of the day. Lovely to meet her and good luck with this little slice of heaven!

The house is in a conservation area, not far from the centre. This listing is for the single room; another is for the double.
At the end of the street is where the first cheque was ever issued. The Black Ox was a pub, became a bank, and was bought by Lloyds. The ox became the black horse! The street was an old drovers' route and used to have 18 pubs on it to cater for them; this house was once one of them.
  • David’s place is fascinating and full of (nice) surprises - particularly for anyone with an interest in books, music and art generally - the best sort of AirBnB experience...

  • We arrived at this sweet little cottage late at night and in atrocious weather. We were immediately made to feel welcome with lights on to greet us and the place warm and cosy. We had a relaxing stay and I have to say that the equipment provided was first class. Our hosts had thought of everything from handy emergency rain ponchos to dog bowls and spare reading glasses! The bed was comfy and the whole place prettily decorated. There was a wonderful selection of reading books, DVD's and games .. just right for rainy days. The location is great for exploring this fascinating part of Wales and although we know the area well, it never ceases to surprise us.

Above and beyond all expectations and a prime example for the reason we use the site. A five star all over rating for an unbelievable price. Could not rate our stay highly enough. They've put a lot of thought into the facilities and amenities to make this an exceptional and easy glamping experience, especially for those new to it - fire pit was pre-laid for us to just simply light when evening came, provided with milk and water in a coolbox that stayed cool for the duration of our visit. Was made to feel comfortable and welcome upon arrival. Great hosts, great location, great amenities, already planning a return trip.

Wild Dragon Escapes' latest addition, Mr Imp has had her decks scrubbed, her insides refitted and has now been dry docked in her very own field on the 22 acre private nature reserve. Mr Imp has room for two passengers and is ready to take you on an adventure of a lifetime. Fitted out with 1 double bed (incl bedding), wood stove, gas hob and grill, fire pit, showers, WC and compost loo, Mr Imp has all you need for your voyage.
Mr Imp is 2 berth 25' yacht which includes a wood stove, gas hob and grill, sink, led lighting, a double bed (NB bedding NOT provided), fire pit and compost loo. WC, shower and laundry also available nearby. Dry docked in her own field within a private 22 acre nature reserve with lakes, ponds, flower meadows, huge oaks, hammock swings and a Whomping Willow, Mr Imp's guests are invited to enjoy the peace and explore locally. Surrounded by wild land, Mr Imp is situated down a long track. There is no litter, no dog mess and no traffic. There are trees to climb, dens to make, and streams to play in. There is an indoor play space with ride on toys, a large trampoline, and a basketball hoop. There is also a massive bird box in the barn, but that is for the owls! As you adventure round the land you can spot the other owl boxes and will also hear the owls almost every night. Due to some hazardous drops Mr Imp may not be suitable for very young children. The nature reserve is not a tidy place, what is mess to adults can be prime real estate for wild animals or fun stuff for kids. In our long career as parents and foster carers we have found that children (and adults) tend to be happiest when they can make dens and play in the wild. Our aim in setting up this holiday business was to create an environment that gave native wild animals and children some much needed breathing space. We aim to keep the nature reserve free of harmful chemicals and we provide eco friendly shampoos and soap for our guests. Even the water here is chlorine and fluoride free as it is from our own spring. We believe we are creating a children's wonderland and it's pretty wonderful for adults too! If all this clean living is too much you can escape to the excellent village pub which is an easy walk away! Nearby Llandeilo is a beautiful market town with great cafes, pubs and bars, antique and craft shops. Other local attractions include Newton House, Dinefwr Castle, Carreg Cennen Castle, Aberglasney House and Gardens and The National Botanic Garden of Wales. There is fabulous walking and mountain biking in the Brechfa Forest and, the beautiful beaches of The Gower, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion are just an hour away.
  • A wonderful find. The nature reserve is magical to explore and it’s all v practical too with everything you need. Mr Imp has its own field with a hammock and swing at the bottom. And I never knew a compost loo could be so nice!

  • Wild dragon escapes is the most amazing place. We have had a wonderful stay aboard Mr Imp and are looking forward to visiting again soon. We are a family of 4 and found we had enough room. The reserve is an incredible place to make memories. Our children loved the nature package and can't wait to visit our family tree soon. If you are on the fence about visiting, just do it. You won't regret it. The whole team at wild dragon are welcoming and friendly but we also felt we had the privacy to enjoy our holiday our way.

    Amy2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a great holiday and experience. We were concerned that the space might be too tight for 2 adults, and 2 fully grown children, but it wasn't. You would have less room in a tent, and this was much more fun and quirky. Such a different experience staying in a boat on a field. Location was amazing, privacy was amazing and everything we needed was to hand. Couldn't ask for anymore. And our hosts were friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and were okay. What a fantastic trip, enjoyed by us all. Thank you for providing an experience we needed, enjoyed and will remember.

    Darren2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a amazing and magical place to go and stay, the ship itself was incredible charming and the land around make me feel like a was a nature reserve.

  • Had an amazing time staying in the boat. Cliff and Sheilas place is so beautiful and tranquil it was great to relax here. Will definitely be back for more!

    James2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Well there are very few places that feel as magical as this. In the middle of the beautiful welsh country side you’ll find a cozy boat, Mr Imp, to rest your head. And even while you walk around the lovely walking trails you’ll see a double decker bus and even a massive shoe! It’s a place made for fairytales. I absolutely loved getting away from the world for a bit and really taking in the fun nature of the place. You’ll find ponds, sitting trees... it truly felt like you would discover something new at every turn. Nearby I was also able to visit the local Castle and the town of Llandeilo has lots of fancy shops and restaurants. I highly recommend Mr. Imp for a cozy and fun experience. Sleeping in a boat, on land, is definitely a unique experience that I will surely remember for a lifetime.

With a dishwasher, washing machine, electric over and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, slow cooker and all crockery and cooking utensils, cooking will not be a chore at Cae'r Beili! Dine in the conservatory . The large farmhouse table is a place for coming together. Watch the birds ( over 30 species of birds spotted in the garden recently) and sheep in the fields nearby or the red kites soaring overhead. Or just relax and spend quality time together watching country life from the comfort of a chair - whatever the weather! Situated in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt valleys in Wales - the Tywi, many of our guests tell us that they spend more time than they thought just relaxing in Cae’r Beili. However, for the more adventurous there is plenty to see and do and despite our rural and peaceful location we are very centrally placed, easy to reach and an ideal spot from which to explore Mid, South and West Wales. The village of Cil-y-cwm, has a small friendly pub serving excellent food. The village street was once a drovers’ road and the cobbled watercourses which used to be filled with water for cattle to drink can still be seen today. The village church has fifteenth century wall murals and a yew tree which is at least 1, 500 years old. The Methodist Chapel, built in 1740, was one of the first Methodist Chapels in Wales. The whole area, in the lower foothills of the Cambrian Mountains and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, is outstanding for walkers, birdwatchers, photographers, artist and all country lovers. There are gentle strolls or more strenuous hikes from the cottage door including one to a magnificent waterfall. The area is a natural habitat for all kinds of wildlife and flora and it is common to see red kites, kestrels , sparrow hawks and many other birds. There are two RSPB Reserves - Dinas and Gwenffrwd. There are even red squirrels in the area! Cycling, fishing, riding and golf can all be arranged locally. Other attractions in the area include: • National Botanic Garden of Wales • Aberglasney Garden • Dolaucothi Gold Mines . RSPB Dinas Reserve • Dan yr Ogof Show Caves • Dinefwr Castle • Carreg Cennen Castle • Llyn Brianne . Red Kite Feeding Centre • Elan Valley • Brecon Beacons National Park • Pembrokeshire National Park • Gower Peninsula

Longbarn Cottage One is a barn conversion with exposed beams on our smallholding. In a quiet location in the Carmarthenshire countryside. It is one of two cottages converted from our former stables. The other cottage, Longbarn Dairy End, is also available on Airbnb, it sleeps four people in one double and one twin bedroom. Please note we charge one price all year, with no extra charges for cleaning or heating.
A great place for a relaxing break away from it all. We are about 40 minutes from the Breacon Beacons National Park. The nearest seaside places are the colourful harbour town Aberaeron, Newquay famed for its dolphins and Aberystwyth. The market town of Carmarthen is about one hour away. Lampeter, Llandelio and Llandovery are the nearest towns. Pumsaint village has a pub and a goldmine both open to visiters! Lots of nice walks and biking with in easy distance. Birdwatch from the balcony while enjoying the peace and quiet. Usual farmyard noises, sheep, tractors etc to be expected!
The cottage is surrounded by open countryside. The fields are usually home to sheep, and lambs in season. They wander onto and sometimes sleep on the track so you will need to be aware of them when using the track. If you like bird watching there are plenty to see from red kites to robins! Bring your binos. We also have lots of wildflowers, spring is the best hundreds of primroses and bluebells. Lots of daffodils too! Not wild flowers I know but from mid March onwards Wales is daff heaven! Star watching is recommended. On a clear night, turn off the lights and sit on the balcony to enjoy the night sky. Put the Night Sky ap on your phone or tablet to help you identify the stars and planets. We live across the farmyard from the cottage, our nearest neighbours are half a mile away down the track. Lots of guests have asked us where they can eat around here the nearest places are:- Dolaucothi Arms, Pumsaint SA19 8UW Brunant Arms, Caio SA19 8RD Tafarn Jem, SA48 8HF on the A482 towards Lampeter.

    Jo2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian's place is a clean, warm and comfortable converted barn. It is across the yard from their home on their farm, up a rough farm track. There is a huge bathroom, comfy bed and everything you need to cook a meal from scratch. A beautiful quiet place, but you will need to use a car to get to the shops.

    Hannie2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

John, Andy & Dylan their Border Collie welcome you to Carreg Yr Ogof (which means Stone Cave) and 'The Cobblers Cottage' (your accommodation under the arrow) which dates back 300 years, a stone built annex attached to our cottage on the South West edge of the beautiful Brecon Beacons in Llandyfan. The traditional Welsh cottage has a locked connecting door and has a separate private outside entrance. We welcome well behaved dogs (please let us know at the time of booking if bringing a dog).
We offer clean and comfortable accommodation comprising of a standard double bed with bedside tables and individual reading lights, seating area, TV with DVD player, log burner (logs supplied), WIFI, and a small hanging space for clothes. Slippers are provided for guests as there is a stone floor. The dining area (there is no cooker/Hob or kitchen sink) contains a small dining table and chairs, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, kettle and complimentary hospitality tray. All utensils are provided. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast which is provided for the first day in case you forget to bring anything with you, consisting of cereals, bread, croissants, butter, jams, and various preserves, milk, orange juice, local spring water and a fruit basket. Biscuits and other nibbles are also provided. Bathroom consists of a rain shower, sink and toilet (no bathtub). Fresh towels are provided. Guests should note that the property is NOT suitable for wheelchair access and those who have difficulty walking. Access to the private entrance is approx. 20 metres walk from the driveway around the back of our cottage and there are 5 steps, some uneven surfaces and the general area is hilly. Mobile phone reception is very poor, however there is wifi available. If bringing a dog, they must have their own bedding.
Llandyfan is a small quiet village that derives its name from a saint of the name 'Dyvan' who came to Wales from Rome about the year 180. Carreg Yr Ogof is near the small Church and Holy Well. The house is approx. 3 miles from Carreg Cennen Castle which sits high above the river Cennen. Other local amenities include a traditional pub that serves home cooked food about 2 miles away, fishing, golf course, cycling, walking and two equestrian centres. The whole area is designated a 'dark skies area' and has recently been listed as the best place in the UK to observe the night sky.
  • We had such a fantastic stay. Cobblers Cottage is such a lovely little place. Our dog, Woody, also loved it. The place was so clean and cosy. With lovely little touches. We will definitely be back.

  • This is a true gem of a place. John is a wonderful host and his attention to detail is just amazing. We stayed with our dog Rufus and could not believe how much effort is made by our host to make our stay comfortable. The extras like teas, coffee and breakfast assortment was unexpected but very much appreciated. My husband was so pleased to be able to have the log burner to play with. I cannot Recommend this place more highly or our hosts.

Self contained room and en suite with it's own entrance within a large 1800's Welsh Farmhouse, situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. Amazing walking, cycling (road and off road) and running on the doorstep plus two lovely small towns (Llandovery and Llandeilo) full of independent shops and cafes just a few minutes away. The room is spacious with high ceilings and a huge bathroom. Original shutters at the window along with a window seat that is the perfect spot for a morning coffee.
The room can be a twin or super king and includes a kettle, toaster and small fridge to allow you to make breakfast or simple meals. Along with a selection of china (plates, bowls, mugs). Happy to also provide a travel cot if needed. The room is within the house with a (locked) door joining the inner hallway, so you may hear the noise of family life going on. But our children are primary school aged so out at school Monday-Friday and in bed by 7pm so unlikely to disturb your stay. Given the location within the house we do of course also request for you to be considerate when it comes to noise of both us and our neighbours. No loud music at any time and if coming or going when others may be asleep please keep noise to a minimum. Parking is to the front of the main house on the large gravel drive way.
The Western Brecon Beacons is a somewhat undiscovered area with fewer tourists but some of the best scenery Wales has to offer. Our smallholding is situated just outside the park a few miles south of Llandovery. The property is very quiet being set back from the road up a short track and stepping outside all you can normally hear are sheep, a tractor or a Red Kite whistling. If you enjoy the outdoors there are great walks/trail runs a short drive away (Llyn y Fan Fach is a real gem), great cycling with 3 of the Top 100 climbs within 30km and some awesome mountain biking in Brechfa. Happy to share route recommendations and also provide bike cleaning or maintenance facilities if needed. If you're looking for something more relaxing to do then head for Llandeilo which has some wonderful independent shops and cafes (the Ginhaus Deli does the best flat white in my opinion). You can also reach a number of beaches within an hour or so drive either south or west. Llansteffan, Pembrey and New Quay to name but a few. All generally quiet especially outside of the summer holidays.

A gorgeous, sympathetically restored character barn, set in the beautiful countryside within the Brecon Beacons National Park with exposed stonework, oak beams, flag stone floor with under-floor heating and log burner. The living area is spacious, yet cosy, with a well equipped kitchen and dining area. Large bedroom with a king size bed and a stylish bathroom with shower. The ground floor includes a fully fitted kitchen, dining area and living room - in all around 500 sq. ft. A parcel of logs and kindling will be provided on arrival if required (the house has underfloor heating as its primary source and the woodburner is not usually needed for heat! )Additional logs can be supplied at cost. The kitchen is well equipped, with granite work surfaces, butler's sink overlooking the garden, butchers block, freestanding oven/hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, washing machine and dishwasher. A single quality guest bed with slatted support and sprung mattress can be provided, as shown in the photographs, upon request for a third guest. There is a separate built in wardrobe cupboard. The property is adjacent to the owner’s home, but it is not overlooked and you will have sole use of a south west facing terrace with wonderful views to the rear of the barn. A barbeque and patio furniture are included. Locked storage for bicycles can be provided. We provide an initial supply of milk, sugar, tea, coffee and welsh cakes , together with some oil, salt and pepper.
The barn is located in within the UNESCO Fforest Fawr Geopark in the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park and lies equidistant between the towns of Llandeilo, with its numerous boutique shops, pubs and restaurants and the market town of Llandovery. Both offer a good choice of places to eat and drink. Llandeilo has a number of literary and music festivals throughout the year, and it is always worth checking if anything is on. There is an abundance of outdoor activities to choose from: road and mountain biking, spectacular walking on the ridges of Llyn y Fan, around the Usk Reservoir, or the Cambrian Mountains near Cilycwm. Geocaching and other organised outdoor activities are plentiful. If pulling on outdoor gear is not your thing, you can wander around the ships of Llandeilo, Newton House in Dinefwr Park (a National Trust property), the magnificent 12th century Carreg Cennen Castle, the Dolau Cothi Gold Mines, the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens: all are a short drive away. Just over an hour’s drive away, you will find the waterfall country of Ystradfellte and the stunning beaches of the Gower Peninsular (to the south), Laugharne (Dylan Thomas’s Boathouse), picturesque Tenby, Cardigan and Newquay (to the West), Llyn Briane (to the North) and Hay on Wye, home to the world famous book festival (to the East).
  • Sian is such a lovely host, her place is just perfect. Enjoy!

  • Really lovely space, very clean and had everything we needed. The perfect hosts, friendly and happy to help with anything. Had a lovely stay here and would happily return!

  • An absolutely wonderful stay, Sian and Jan were fantastic hosts. The photos really don't do Pantygrafog Fach justice, it's amazing, really amazing! Every little thing had been thought of.

    David2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sian's house is beautifully decorated and well located in the Brecon Beacons. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and living area and bedroom very cosy. There was local information on hand and the house was very clean. I would love to stay again!

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sian's cottage was absolutely gorgeous. A real escape in the heart of the welsh countryside and just a stones throw from some great walks in the Brecon Beacons. Sian was a great host, coming out to help us find the cottage when we got a little lost on the way and showed us how everything worked inside before leaving us to enjoy the rest of our trip. She had also left a detailed folder of all the info you would need regarding the cottage and the local area. As well as some homemade welsh cakes which we enjoyed with a cuppa in front of the wood burner after a nice long walk around Llyn-Y-Fan. In terms of local foodie spots we enjoyed a great dinner at The Castle Hotel in Llandovery and a gem of a brunch find called The Hangout in Llandeilo, both about 15 mins drive away and with delicious food. The perfect little getaway spot to switch off and recharge!

Comfortable and spacious heritage cottage (3 bedrooms - double, twin and single) in own grounds on banks of the River Cothi on edge of Brecon Beacons in Wales. Pretty location. Part of the centuries old Edwinsford Estate. Good for the soul and ideal for walking, fishing, cycling or simply chill out holidays. Fully equipped.
The Dairy House offers a unique experience - modern amenities in an historic setting. The house is ideally situated for touring throughout Wales or, if you prefer, for simply staying put and chilling out. Truly stress busting !
  • We were on the hunt for a quiet place to unwind and relax over the new year period and the Dairy House exceeded our expectations! The house is spacious, clean, surrounded by beauty and packed with history. Robert was a fantastic host and showed us around when we arrived, which was a great touch and very much appreciated (as were the tray of treats!). We have returned feeling genuinely relaxed and our dog seemed very disappointed when he realised we weren’t staying forever! I’d be very happy to come back again - thanks for having us.

  • The Dairy House is a delightful place to stay. The house is spacious and characterful and set in a charming rural location with the River Cothi running through its grounds. It is the ideal place to have a relaxing holiday.

  • This is a treasure!! Stunning location, fantastically equipped, brilliant garden with access to the beautiful River Cothi with Little Grebes, Dippers and Kingfishers. Wonderful accommodation and extremely responsive host. All added up to a brilliant holiday with some of the best local food both at home and in the pubs and restaurants of the area.

    Simon2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Dairy house is like a little paradise for those who seek for some rest and a dive in Welsh nature and culture. Internet not available all the time made our kids aware that's something you can do without or makes you do other things. The house is very well equipped, complete and has a wonderful spacious garden. A special place!

    Henny2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a delightful house. We enjoyed the peaceful river (skimming stones, paddling, birdwatching) and the lovely garden. The house is comfy and has lots of space - it feels homely and we enjoyed incredible castles, walks and a fascinating NT gold mine nearby. We took our ow blow up canoe and enjoyed the river. We are a family of 5 inc 3 boys aged 16, 13 and 11. We all thoroughly recommend this house. Thank you Robert.

Situated alongside the riverside with surrounding fields and rolling hills.
  • Absolutely stunning pods set off from campsite in quiet, riverside spot. The pod is the best I’ve stayed in, spacious, clean and absolutely perfect. Lovely little touches and all we could have wanted. Campsite staff were very friendly and approachable, campsite was fairly busy but very welcoming and lovely atmosphere. For dog owners it is very friendly, although the decking isn’t fully enclosed so we had to tie our little wanderers to the posts. Walking distance from Llandovery and a 15 minute drive from some lovely waterfall walks! Perfect weekend!

The Coach House is a charming cosy cottage situated well off the beaten track amongst the beautiful Carmarthanshire countryside & bluebell woods. Situated on the owners' smallholding; you are welcome to wander in the fields and woodland to meet our extended family of pet sheep, alpacas & goats plus 2 friendly horses and a donkey. In the garden are assorted hens & ducks to help wake you up in the morning & help to keep you entertained! Come and enjoy picnics & stunning sunsets in complete seclusion in any of the fields. Some of our recent lovely guests shared pictures on Instagram too! https://www.instagram.com/izogadventure/
The Coach House is a peaceful cosy retreat. It has been lovingly converted from a former outbuilding and has much charm and character. Consisting of one beautiful open plan space with cosy living area with large antique wood burner (that can be opened to give the experience of an open fire), there is oil fired central heating but we would advise bringing slippers if booking in the winter months, Wi-Fi (nb. signal can be intermittent especially in bad weather!), TV (freeview over 100 channels), DVD player & CD/radio (with Bluetooth connection for playing music from any of your own devices). There is a beautiful bedroom on the mezzanine level as well as a fully equiped kitchen and bathroom. The private covered outside area is perfect for enjoying the peace of the countryside with a drink and a bbq. The dark skies at night are perfect for stargazing. There is a beautiful view from the owner's garden which you can enjoy from the bench (pictured) just below the Coach House and also from the stunning circular feature window in the bedroom. The Coach House is perfectly suited as a romantic retreat for couples but can also be enjoyed by families due to the sofa bed in the living area. A cot and high chair can be provided on request; although care should be taken with small children due to the cottage layout with 2 sets of stairs and the sitting area is not enclosed. Initial supply of logs included and additional wood can be provided for a small charge.
The Coach House is situated just a few minutes from the beautiful village of Talley with it's stunning lakes, fascinating historic Abbey and plentiful woodland walks. There are some village pubs in nearby Cwmdu and Llansawell and the historic town of Llandeilo is approx. 7 miles away. Here you will find all amenities; Co op supermarket, local butchers & bakery as well as plentiful pubs, takeaways, cafes & restaurants including the famous Gin House, The Cawdor & Chocolate Emporium. Here in Llandeilo you also have the fantastic National Trust Dinefwr; stunning parkland with historic house and castle. Talley is situated within 30 mins drive to the market towns of Llandovery, Carmarthan & Lampeter; all of which have their unique history charm as well as modern shopping facilities and cinema, swimming pools etc. Close by you will find other National Trust treats such as the famous Goldmines. The fantastic Brecha forest, Black Mountains and stunning Pembrokeshire beaches such as Pendine Sands, the Cardigan bay coastal beaches such as New Quay & Aberaron as well as the Gower are all within an hour's drive. Nearest beach is Llansteffan, only 45 mins drive.
  • Claire and Shaun’s little haven is absolutely dreamy. The views are idyllic, the space is peaceful and private and the animals are such a joy. Claire and Shaun are wonderful people with a wonderful ethos. The couch house was a lovely space, with everything you could need! Thanks for everything! 💜

    Rachel2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve just returned from a few days away at The Coach House and are already planning when we can return! Claire and Shaun are wonderful hosts, we felt so welcomed and it’s obvious how much they care about their guests’ experience. A perfect place for a relaxing getaway. We loved all of the animals, and especially appreciated the opportunity to feed them! They all have their own characters and it was lovely to hear the stories of where they came from, and to see how much Claire and Shaun care for all of them. The Coach House itself is cosy, super clean and a relaxing space to stay in. It has everything you’d need and more! If you’re thinking about staying here then just book it, you won’t regret it!

  • If you want cosy, secluded, relaxing, clean, beautiful, close to nature, quiet, calm, characterful, off the beaten track...the list goes on, then Shaun and Claire’s Coach House is the perfect getaway. From the gorgeous building itself, to the warming wood stove, the cute animals to the stunning views, the friendly hosts to the characterful coach house, this place was a beaut! We will be coming back in the summer!

    Chris2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Claire and Shaun's Coach House and it was just as perfect as the first time. It's such a cosy space and the rural location is so tranquil. The Coach House has everything you need for your stay and is so well looked after. We absolutely love it here and hope to return soon!

    Gemma2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t be disappointed! The Coach House is an immaculately converted home with high ceilings and comfy furniture. We loved the opportunity to feed the animals and enjoyed opening the curtains in the mornings to see the faces of inquisitive geese and ducks peeking back at us. Claire and Shaun are wonderful hosts. We were only away for a day and a half but we feel as though we have had a week’s holiday. We’ll be back 😁

    Rebecca2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Claire and Shaun are the most spectacular hosts going above and beyond to cater for their guests. Prosecco and welsh cakes on arrival is always a treat! Stunning home, with breath taking surroundings. Happy to make this our annual get away when visiting family and would recommend a million times over to anyone to stay here. Thank-you again for a wonderful experience, we look forward to seeing you again very soon x

    Jade2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for two nights and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The coach house was beautiful - spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we would need for a comfortable stay. However the thing that really made this weekend break amazing was the atmosphere and the hosting. Shaun and Claire are the perfect hosts. From showing us around the fields and introducing us to all their beautiful, gentle animals, to providing extra board games for the children. They absolutely respected and ensured our privacy but were always on hand for a chat or if we needed anything. We felt completely relaxed, welcome and at home. We couldn't recommend the coach house more, and we are already planning our next stay with them very soon!
