Places to stay in Freeport
The panoramic view of the Bay of Fundy is mesmerizing. The Cottage offers all the comforts you'll need for your stay, including terrific cooking facilities. Aside from the studio bedroom, there is a pull-out couch that can sleep two, as well as a roll-out cot for a fifth guest. Perfect for a family with children. And pets are welcome. Come for the whale watching, hiking, birding, and the natural beauty and tranquility. You won't want to leave.
Your hosts live just minutes away...and are always willing to answer your questions about the area.
This cottage is located on a quiet lane in a small fishing village. Our Bay of Fundy tides are famous for being the highest in the world. You can see the dramatic difference between high and low tides at Beautiful Cove, just a few minutes walk from the Cottage.
  • My partner and I can't say enough good things about this cottage, but I will try. The setting is outstanding: a wind-battered coast in the middle of the ocean. We were here in the fall on a wet weekend where the giant water facing windows and wood stove made it wonderfully cozy. I can only imagine that it would be equally spectacular on a beautiful summer day. The cottage itself is the most well-stocked Airbnb that we have ever stayed at. Coffee, spices, a fridge full of essentials, toiletries, and homemade oatmeal cookies and muffins! If you forget something it likely won't matter because Chris and Andy will have stocked it. Finally, Chris and Andy were very accommodating. They came to meet us shortly after we arrived to give us the lay of the land and to point out where we could find treats for their horse and donkey in case we wanted to go meet them. Can't recommend staying here enough. You won't be disappointed.

  • There were so many wonderful amenities (food, kitchen gear, rain ponchos, reading material about current local and historical events, maps, etc.) in this well-stocked cottage. Too many to mention, in fact. In the food department, we had pancakes, hot chocolate, popcorn, eggs, cream, fresh fruit, canned goods, spices, and more (all from supplies in the home) AND we received home made cookies and muffins baked by Chris. We loved our short walks to Beautiful Cove, viewing Briar Island harbour activity, and watching the lighthouse. We feel like this location on Long Island (close to Briar Island) is the best place for exploring both islands. We even loved looking out the cottage's glass wall on a dramatic weather day of nearly horizontal rain and high wind. We were cozy and warm with books, games, plenty to cook, and Internet TV. The home is bright even on rainy days. The hosts, Chris and Andy were very generous and welcoming and helped us plan local adventures. We want to return!

  • It is perfect. Cozy wood stove and an amazing view. The home made goodies are very tasty and add a wonderful personal touch. Chris was so attentive, even offering to pick things up while she went into Digby. It is a wonderful place to unwind and connect with your loved one. PS, the horse loves carrots.😀😀

  • An exceptional AirBnB, absolutely loved the location and the cottage. We especially enjoyed the views over the Bay of Fundy, cosy evenings by the wood burner, local walks and whale watching off Briar Island. Chris and Andy are exceptional hosts. Chris provided delicious cookies and muffins and the kitchen is very well equipped, so we ate well. They also provide a great deal of local information in the cottage and are on hand to answer any queries or offer suggestions. We loved meeting their various furry pets. We hope to return one day.

  • Super furnished house with really everything, what you need. View from the terrace dreamlike. (When there is no fog). Feel-good character high.

  • 'Beautiful Cove Cottage', in Freeport, is an incredibly charming and comfortable place to call home while spending time on Long Island. From the moment I walked in the door, after first meeting Andy outside as I arrived, ( and Christine later when she returned from running errands in Digby ), I discovered fresh, home baked( by Christine) cookies , muffins, a fruit platter, freshly cut flowers, and a wood ,fire set- up and ready to go ( by Andy ), and all the amenities and personal touches imaginable. The location is perfect for day-tripping to Brier Island, taking in Whale watching tours, biking, hiking, touring Long Island, or simply sitting on the deck basking in the glorious sights and sounds of the Bay of Fundy. There is an unobstructed view from the deck of the cottage...and I found that it was easy to perfect the art of rest and relaxation while reading on the deck when not out exploring. I never tired of the view, and having a set of binoculars (thoughtfully provided by Andy and Christine in the cottage ) made scanning the 'waters' while sipping a cup of tea particularly appealing. I would like to say that 'Beautiful Cove Cottage' is one of those 'best kept secrets' but judging by the reviews/comments of many previous guests...I am not alone in my discovery and/or love of the place. The warmth, generosity, and hospitality of Christine and Andy made it particularly special...and I have no doubt that I'll return. Thank you again Christine and Andy for making me feel so welcome and 'at home' ....

  • If I could give Chris 10 stars, I would. My wife and I stayed a week, and it was wonderful. Chris was attentive and took great care of us. The place is neat and clean, with lots of glass and an outdoor deck facing the Bay of Fundy. The place is small and basic, sort of like a studio apartment, but it suited us just right. The kitchen is well equipped, husband Andy provided everything needed for fires in the wood stove, which was super cozy as the temperatures were starting to dip. Lots of nice touches: flowers on the table, butter in the butter dish, sodas in the fridge, fresh baked cookies and muffins. The views are beautiful. Easy walk down to Beautiful Cove. Freeport is a charming town. I just asked my wife what I should say, and she responded: “fantastic, one of a kind, feel at home, lacking nothing” Highly recommended. Just leave room for us to return! (-;

Cozy house ! This home is an open concept, so it’s perfect if you have children... Beautiful front deck to enjoy your morning coffee ! Property has many flower gardens and a berry garden for you to have some in season treats ... Relax in the shade on the hammock .This property offers a home away from feeling :)
    Quiet , picturesque community!
  • We stayed in the lower cottage. It was immaculate and exactly what we were looking for. Gail and Reid are working hard to create a wonderful experience for their guests. We were there in the off season so we walked a lot of the trails which are well groomed. We were hoping to go whale watching but the weather didn’t cooperate. And we learned the ferry schedule is clearly just a suggestion and these run more frequently than noted. When we weren’t enjoying the outdoors we relaxed inside the cottage on the big comfy couch!

  • Great spot close to the balacing rock hike

    Nick2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cottage that was up the hill a bit and thoroughly enjoyed our time there! Everything sparkled and it had all a person would need. Décor was thoughtful and so nicely done. The berry garden, sightings of the resident goats, and the hawks and seabirds all added to the whole experience. The beds were so comfy! The fire pit was a big hit in the evening. Incredible views and so much to see and do nearby meant we were always enchanted. Gayle was so thoughtful during our stay and we found that she, Reid, and their sweet boys were so inspiring in their down-to-earth values of family, the community and the earth. We took a couple of trips further up the hill to their camping area to enjoy the spectacular views and to pick a few rose hips. I have been recommending this spot to my friends who like to camp where the beauty of nature and the community make it totally worth the drive from the city. We want to return!

    Suzanne2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in the cottage at Gail's place! Excellent location - incredible views just over the hill at the back and a lovely deck in the morning. The cottage was spacious and clean with a comfortable couch and everything we needed in the kitchen. The local grocery store is a short walk away if you need anything too. We'd definitely recommend a stay here!

    Nicole2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gail’s place was perfect for our trip to Digby Neck. It is just a short drive to the Brier Island ferrry. We took the ferry across to have dinner, and there’s a small market within sight of Gail’s place. All very nicely located.

    Tim2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This space was absolutely perfect. Spotlessly clean, has everything you could need, conveniently located - so many plusses. Great home base for exploring this area.

    Cathy2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gail's Whale of a Time cottages and campgrounds are beautifully situated. The pictures are true to what you will find - a beautiful location, well maintained, and nice amenities. The cottage was spotless. Gail made our after dark arrival convenient. She informed us of the island's ferry schedule and store hours. (I do also recommend the store's fresh made sandwiches.) I would love to go back!

  • This is an idyllic spot for a couple’s getaway, at any time of the year. Bill was kind and thoughtful, providing us with all the information we needed about the house and amenities. He left us flyers and information about nearby activities and attractions, but the House was so cozy with such a great view that we ended up staying in for most of our stay! It’s a beautiful location with gorgeous Sea Views, The House was a wonderful mix of modern amenities and rustic charm, not to mention He and his Lovely Wife Karen had cleaned until it was spotless. Bill & Karen even went as far as to make sure there was some complimentary Seafood for us to So We Made a Lobster Dip. We had a great trip and would definitely stay at this Lovely Sweet Sea Views again in the near future and will take inn some whale watching next time around. Thank You Very Much Bill

  • What a lovely home and an amazing location! We watched whales from the front window as we were eating breakfast. The home is lovely with every detail taken care of. I didn’t want to leave!

  • Paulette’s place is the ultimate getaway. It is the definition of peaceful. From sitting and reading on the porch watching whales in the distance to some of the prettiest sunrises and sunsets I’ve ever seen, we felt so lucky to stay there! Thank you, Paulette!

    Claire2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Paulette's place is a beautifully decorated very spacious home. Sparkling clean with all the amenities of home away from home. You can see the whales blow right from their home. Watch the fog roll in and hear the fog horn alarm from the local lighthouse. The local people are very friendly and happy to answer any questions you might have. If you are looking for places to stay in Freeport or Brier Island I would highly recommend Paulettes place, beautiful accommodations and only minutes away from ferries and local Brier Island with the benefit of beautiful relaxing accommodations.

    Kathy2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding home and beautiful view! The place is absolutely amazing! Perfect for a peaceful getaway. Great for walks along the waterfront, rock jumping, and star gazing. We even saw whales surface and blow right from the house! Paulette is a great hostess with quick response times and when we asked if there was a blender she had one dropped off to us within minutes! Thanks Paulette, we had an awesome time! Highly recommend!

    Christina2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly a gorgeous house on an even more gorgeous piece of land west-view for perfect sunsets. The stars at night were amazing above a beautiful concrete outdoor fire pit. The house has everything you’d possibly want - fresh tasting water with three bathrooms and balconies galore. WiFi throughout and two separate electric fireplaces, one in a comfy reading nook upstairs connecting the bedrooms, one down in the main living room. There is ‘beautiful cove’ down the street to the right, where you can sit on top of monumental rocks and really see the tide come in. Weather here is insanely unpredictable, fog rolls in and is thick at times but that’s just how Nova Scotia does it’s weather. Strongly recommend the whale watching tour we booked in Freeport just before the Westport ferry. If you’re craving a beach, go to Sandy Cove, we spent the day there and watched in awe as the Ocean pulled back 30 feet going into low tide. If in Digby, the best restaurant we found was The Wheelhouse, which had amazing food but even more amazing brownies. Overall Paulette was so accommodating and welcoming that my family really enjoyed the space. Thank you Paulette!

Our centrally located, waterfront, second floor apartment boasts breathtaking panoramic views over Grand Passage.
The second floor apartment is fully furnished with two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchenette and living/dining space.
The village of Westport, Nova Scotia is the only community on Brier Island. First settled in 1769, Westport is a traditional working fishing village and has always made it's fortunes from the sea which surrounds it. With a current population of over 200 permanent residents, most who make their living fishing, Westport stands as a prime example of the industrious and friendly nature of the Nova Scotian people.   Many services are available in the village including a well stocked general store with gas pumps & liquor store, gift shops, a cafe, a restaurant & lodge, world famous whale watching excursions, churches, fish processing plant, lobster pound, fire department, community center, library, and post office.
  • Awesome apartment on a beautiful island.

  • This place was perfect! It has a fantastic view and the location is second to none on the island for convenience! We had a fantastic relaxing stay!

    Sherry2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time on Brier Island. The apartment was perfect for us and conveniently close to the store, the cafe and the whale watching (we saw Humpback whales :). The apartment had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. But the best thing about the apartment is the view. First row seats for looking out into the harbour. Really beautiful. Also, I can't thank Letisha enough. She was always fast in answering any question and even "warned" us about the loud motorcycles from the Wharf Rat Ralley before we even got there. And when we got ourselves into a bit of a pickle, she was able to help us out instantly. I would totally stay in the apartment again.

    Claudia2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to enjoy Brier Island. Close to everything, and a fabulous 180 degree view of the harbour.

    William2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to visit. Location is fantastic and a lovely place to spend some time. Really love the living room with all the glass and such a great view of the harbour.being on the second floor is great too because it gives an added level of privacy while seeing all the activity at the heart of town. The deck is great when the afternoon sun is shining. Lots of water pressure and a full kitchen with all the cooking tools you will need. Overall one of my favourite places to stay.

    Richard2019-08-11T00:00:00Z

  • It was just perfect, the best Airbnb I‘ve ever been in. Colleen was very helpful and I loved the conversations with her. I had the pleasure of having a yoga class with her, I can recommend that to everyone. The smoothies in the morning and the homemade muffins were very tasty. Her home is lovingly furnished and everything is clean. If you enjoy nature and the sea, the area is also something for you.

    Viola2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Colleen‘s house. She provided us a room with two seperat beds (very cozy and warm). The room had a lot of pretty details and we felt very comfortable sleeping there. We also had a new renovated bathroom which was super clean. The next morning Colleen prepared healthy and organic smoothies - tasty! She is a very nice person and we felt welcome. If we ever get the chance we will totally come back to visit her.

This is a waterfront heritage property, circa 1787. Located in Freeport, a small fishing village at the southern tip of Long Island, situated in the famous Bay of Fundy. Original art, antiques, ocean view and solitude are just a few of the features of this property. Guests from all backgrounds are welcome here.
This is an authentic maritime home from the days of sail. It is filled with light and boasts stunning water views. If a seaside home filled with original art, antiques and good mojo is not enough, then how about an attached working studio whose barn doors open onto a private lawn? If you've brought materials with you then you're welcome to use the studio space. If not, maybe just relax in it, enjoy a glass of wine and listen for the muse. You can also access local hiking trails from your backyard.
Freeport is one of two small villages on Long Island. Guests can enjoy hiking trails, a museum, two general stores, and delicious local seafood at Lavena's Catch Cafe. Whale watching tours leave several times a day, weather permitting until October. After another quick ferry ride to the next island you'll find a liquor store, restaurant and gift shop. Beach combers for mermaids tears & rock hounds find treasures here.
  • We had a great stay at this location. We had plenty of room to work and the house was very central and accessible.

    Muriel2018-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This Air BnB has been our absolute favourite. If you are looking for an oceanfront property that is affordable with a truly East Coast Island experience this one can not be beat. The view of the bay and the tide coming in and out is stunning. The cottage is spacious and comfortable. The artwork in the cottage is one of a kind. Patricia and her husband, Jamie are artists that live nearby. Their pieces can be seen in the local gallery as well.

  • For a great escape to the best of what Nova Scotia has to offer, make sure you stop and stay in the Freeport area of the province. Pat's place is well appointed, a perfect location and close to whale watching, hiking and enjoying the tides of the Bay of Fundy. It is a beautiful house on a great property. You will see exceptional sunsets and enjoy the night lights of the moon and stars.

    Steve2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place far exceeded our family's expectations. As far as the location goes we have fallen in love Freeport. We enjoyed watching the tides roll in and out, beautiful sunsets and local fishing vessels come and go from the front yard. Our primary goal in travelling to Freeport was to whale watch and the experiences we had with Freeport whale watching left us speechless and spellbound. Our hosts were warm, attentive and available. No detail was overlooked in the design and decor of this Atlantic classic 1780's home! The space was warm, comfy, functional and the artwork and decor was inspiring. As a family we can't recommend this place enough, although we do so with hesitation as we would love to keep it as our little secret getaway for ourselves! Doing so would be an injustice however as this home,it's heritage and this community needs to be appreciated,as we believe it is truly a magnificent place to adventure in and experience! Thank you to the Freeport community, our hosts Pat and Jaime and the whales for making our trip truly unforgettable!❤

  • This location is more than expected. Rustic but very clean and comfortable. The staff is very cordial and helpful. Room was comfortable, but there’s no TV, this wasn’t a problem for us because there was WiFi. The food and the service in the restaurant was very good. The garden and the sheep out back are such a pleasant surprise.

  • We really enjoyed our time here and loved having your lovely apartment as home base! What a beautiful spot to wake up to every morning. We especially loved your garden, patio, and view; wow! Will look forward to coming back again soon, and will definitely be letting our "circles" know about the wonderful setup here at Paradise on Brier. It was a lot of fun meeting you, talking gardening and jam making. And your homemade jams are ideal souvenirs from our Brier Island holiday. We'll be enjoying them on our toast and fondly remembering our time here, as fall settles in and we are back to routines in the city. It will be a reminder to come back soon! Thanks so much for the binder of visitor's information, as well as all your insider tips about the best spots to visit. It really was a treat to see the sunset as Western Light and go for the nature walk with Robert Galbraith. We'll never wonder again what there is to do on Brier Island besides whale watching! Thanks for the comfy, stylish accommodations, such a functional kitchen, and the amazing hospitality!! Terrific all round.

  • Had a wonderful stay at Marie Laure's elegant little apartment with ocean views and a charming garden . We went whale watching and hiked the island and had lovely meals reconnecting with our adult son. The apartment is spotless and beautifully appointed and Marie Laure is a wonderful host - big warm energy and a true love for her island way of life . Thanks for everything!!

    Pat2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Marie-Laure was so welcoming! The house is clean and very charming, with a great location right in town overlooking the water. Marie-Laure even made dinner reservations for us at the Lodge on Cuban music night! She made our stay comfortable and memorable. We would definitely stay here again! Pro tip - options for food are limited on the island - be sure to plan accordingly!

    Samantha2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Paradise on Brier is exactly that. Marie-Laure was wonderful from information prior to arrival, to helping us source fresh lobster and scallops down the road. The apartment was clean, well stocked and well designed with a gorgeous view of the ocean from the front window. The sitting area in front and in the garden are a lovely touch, with a fire pit and BBQ available for use. There are many games and puzzles which were great for our small family, and cable television available. The island itself is beautiful, at Marie-Laure's suggestion we hiked to Seal Cove, and watched a stunning sunset at the West Lighthouse. This was my first time on the East Coast and I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend a stay here.

    Tara2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about this place. It's pure paradise & the hosts are the best. The house is modern, immaculate and beautifully appointed with art on the walls that I loved looking at each day. The island itself is a gem; quiet, peaceful and beautiful. I didn't realize quite how far it was from Yarmouth about 1.5 and then 2 ferry rides but wow was it worth it. Best whale watching & dark skies we've ever seen. Our two kids were amused the whole time & Laurie & Torre were wonderful tending to all our needs, making reservations, giving directions and had puzzles abs games for the kids. Fires were an added bonus at night. If you go to Brier you'd best stay here!

    Michelle2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • My visit was better because of the comfort, caring, and convenience of Paradise on Brier. Everything is there as advertised. What can't be sold is the location, its a 'Super Natural' type of experience (old British Columbia trademark?). Brier is somewhat isolated, I'm sure Marie-Laure would expertly answer your specific questions about what to bring/expect. No crowds here, clean air, cool water (fog:)). GO! Include Paradise on Brier as part of your motoring tour of southern NS.

  • The cottage was in a perfect location for our whale watching tour. Quiet surroundings, and the cottage had everything we needed. Driving down to the ocean on the property, it had an amazing view. Probably could have watched whales from shore.

  • Gail’s place is perfect. It will not disappoint.

    Dawn2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Place was exactly as advertised. Gail is great and very helpful. Whale watching was breath taking. Thanks Gail!

    Ben2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful spot with spectacular sunsets. Gail was super welcoming (as were her goats!). Freeport has real character, the ferry from island to island super regular and the pizza from the School Street Market is a must. We were there only a couple of nights to squeeze in whale watching around other parts of NS, but wished we'd booked an extra day or so to explore the neck a little longer. Highly recommend it as a destination and Gail's Whale of a Time as a base.

  • Beautiful location and friendly, helpful hosts. Ask for directions to the walking trail at the top of the hill behind the cabins - lovely!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Penny's Place and were grateful for the information about dining options as we arrived fairly late. The accommodation and breakfast were very good and were a great way to start our tour of Nova Scotia.

  • We had a great nights stay at Penny’s Bay of Fundy Inn. Very spacious room, the bed was so comfy, and we had a good nights sleep before whale watching the next day. Penny is a great host, hope to come back soon!

  • The Bay of Fundy Inn was a beautiful place to stay. So much character and history. Room was very comfortable! Very clean, well kept and enjoyed a nice breakfast/coffee in the morning. Would highly recommend this spot! We were planning on whale watching, unfortunately it was cancelled due to the weather.

Outside the views are breathtaking. Inside it is rustic and welcoming. We have worked to update many features in the home with fresh walls, coats of paint and queen beds in many of the rooms. The house was built in 1822 and is not winterized, but that isn't an issue during the summer months. Their is an oil stove in the dinning room that we have found Heats the house well if it gets cold. There is indoor plumbing and the water is drinkable but doesn't taste good, you will want to bring your own.
The kitchen has a stove, microwave, toaster oven and fridge. There is a Flat screen tv with a dvd player and a soundbar. I also have it hooked up with a hdmi cord if you have laptop videos. The store has movie rentals up the road if you are interested. The TV is a smart TV so you can log into your netflix account or whatever. Internet access on the island can be spotty and inconsistent, their is 1 service provider and dependability is not their priority. We do pay for the service for our guests but can’t really promise it’s consistency. There is a small charcole BBQ that you can use outdoors as well!
We are the last house on the island so cars come down to the point to see the views and turn around from time to time but other than that you have the place pretty much to your self. There are walking trails on the property to a monument for Joshua Slocum that tourist come and walk. We are happy to let everyone enjoy our beautiful property. Hopefully this does not have a negative effect on your stay with us.
  • A spectacular Maritime get away that doesn't get much more Maritime than this! The salty sea air aroma, sounds of seagulls overhead, the view of the ocean and harbor activity all from the front porch as you drink your morning coffee, and a historic house so full of character that it made you feel like you arrived at home. An unforgettable 3 days that recharged our minds and souls, and left us missing this very special place. Not to mention our excellent host, Danny who was extremely responsive and attentive. A place where everyone should experience at least once!

    Nicole2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot and great location. Good communication from hosts and the spot has everything you need. Thanks!

    Jarrod2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cool, old house full of character and quirky charm. The kind of place where you are going to want to sit in the sun room, look out on the water and lighthouse, and build a puzzle, even if you haven't built a puzzle in years. The kind of place where you look out the window and notice the brief storm has passed and the light is amazing, so you sprint outside with your camera and get lost in taking pictures for an hour. I think if you come to Brier Island, you have to go out whale watching. It is amazing. Think humpback whales within 20 feet of you, and letting loose with a spray that you feel. The hikes on the island are well worth the time, and all have great views of the ocean. The general store in town was WAY better than expected, but you should still probably bring groceries out to the island. The kitchen in the house was very well stocked and a great place to cook meals. All in all, the house feels like Brier Island. Classic, timeless, comfortable, understated, beautiful, and unhurried.

    Mark2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This home is truly a gem. Everything you could ask for.....then more. The home was sparkling clean, you needed nothing. The beds are really comfortable. So much character and so many beautiful things to look at, inside and out, the scenery will knock your socks off. If you book the home just treat it with the respect it deserves so many others can experience what we did. Beth & Gary, Nova Scotia, Canada.

  • Brier Island was exactly what we needed to take a break from our hectic, city lives, and Danny's house located in one of its corners could not have been more perfect. The view was simply stunning, and was such a treat to wake up to every morning. The house was clean, and had everything you could need (including some basic first aid items that came in handy when I took a tumble one day). The kitchen had a lot of equipment, which was useful, as we cooked most of our meals during our stay. Besides the trusty internet, the many puzzles that were available kept us entertained in the evenings. As our first night there was quite chilly, we opted for one of the upstairs bedrooms (the one in front of the stairs); the bed was just amazingly comfortable. So much so that we are considering buying the same mattress for ourselves! The caretakers on the island itself, (a different) Danny and Julia, were warm and wonderful people, and also very helpful - there was a random power outage one night in the area in which the house is located , and Danny went out of his way to make sure we were informed on developments. He also came by on our first evening to let us know that a bunch of whales had been spotted throughout the day close to the coast of one part of the island. All in all, a wonderful stay.

    Aiko2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage, very Nova Scotian - felt like my grandparent's house. The island is a beautiful spot.

    Christopher2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot to stay , beautiful. Danny and his house associates were fantastic can't wait to go back

    Rachel2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Danny's place was great, it is in a beautiful area surrounded by nature and is a great place to relax technology free for a weekend! Danny himself was great at communicating and answered all the questions my friends and I had! Would definitely stay here on my next visit to the island!

  • We had a great time staying on brier island

  • Great views from the restaurant, which had surprisingly good food. It was just what we needed after a day of exploring the island.

  • Just an ok lodge to explore Brier Island. Good location, good food (little expensive but it’s an island) good local tips in front office.

    Yvonne2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the inn. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would go back again but I would request a room with a view. Our room overlooked the parking lot. While not air conditioned, a fan was supplied. I especially enjoyed being down the hall from the restaurant, as there are not a lot of restaurants on the island.

    Sharon2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge was clean &comfortable, and the location convenient.

  • Great!

    Tong2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is the "place to be" on Brier Island, in that it has a restaurant, beautiful views, and several rooms. Our only regret is that we stayed on a night with a full house, and had one of the few rooms without a view (and the view would've been really nice). Nonetheless, it was a great stay. We seemed to be the only guests who took advantage of the trail out back. (Here's a secret-- if you go through the gate out back, you can take a trail that goes to the opposite side of the island and Seal Cove. You can watch a beautiful sunset over the water with what feels like a whole island to yourself. If you keep walking north along the trail, you can then walk back on the road once you get to the lighthouse. The geology is spectacular. You'll be more likely to see whales, seals, or bald eagles than other people.) The staff was friendly.

  • Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating in the restaurant - I was traveling with 2 teens that wouldn’t wake up in time for breakfast, so they packed up breakfasts for me to take back for them. We went on a whale watching tour and saw a couple whales breaching, spy hopping, etc - it was a great adventure. Very happy with our stay

  • This was my second time staying at the lodge..had a beautiful view of the harbour and oceanfront, saw a beautiful sunrise and sunset..great location, only minutes down the road from our Whale watching tour with Mariner Cruises which was Amazing!! In the other direction , a beautiful hike from the coastguard station to Seal Cove..if you do the entire hike it's about 2 hours (one way) from lighthouse to lighthouse..a truly magical hike that heightens all your senses..nothing like smelling the wild roses and the ocean as you listen to the seals and the waves, even saw some splashes way out that were most likely whales breaching.. a wonderful place for nature lovers... The room was clean and had a coffee pot and bar fridge, lots of towels and other toiletries... Great place to stay..will definitely return! Thanks Virginia
