Live like a Portland native for a short or long term stay. Park in the driveway and easily walk to every corner of the city. Original pumpkin pine floors, nine foot ceilings, exposed brick, and sunny southern exposure make this 177 year old Greek revival feel immediately like home. A recently renovated kitchen and bathroom offer modern comforts steeped in historic surround.
“My friends and I had an amazing week at Gary's apartment. We took a working vacation (work during the day/explore Portland on nights and weekends), and this was just a great stay all-around. Can definitely recommend. Apartment: The apartment is on the first floor of a renovated house. It had all the amenities we needed, everything was in great condition. The shower had good water pressure, the beds were comfortable, and we had no issues with noise or anything else. There is a cute seating area in the back, and we used the parking spot in the driveway (though we also used street parking with no issues). Host: Gary was a fantastic host! He was very flexible with our check-in, which was much appreciated. He thoughtfully left us flowers, fruit, chocolates, etc. which was such a sweet touch, and dropped off an extra umbrella on a rainy day. He was easy to reach, and helped us find/arrange the trip to a nice beach on the weekend. Location: We thought the location was really good. It's not in the bustling center of Portland, but an easy (flat) mile walk to most of the restaurants, and you can walk along the water. It was very easy to drive to, and does have a few cafes and restaurants right around. We felt totally safe, and walked almost everywhere.”

“We had a great time in Portland, ME staying with Peter and Julia! The rental is a cozy finished loft above the garage, with plenty of room to relax and a nice level of privacy. When we arrived, they had us all set up with a code to access the space, masks, hand santizers, a few local beers in the fridge and fresh cookies waiting for us on the desk! We were traveling with our dog, and felt immediately welcomed in by our hosts, there was no awkwardness about having our pup with us. We were well accommodated with room to walk him and dispose of his messes. We also enjoyed using the shared space of the outdoor patio to sit in the evening and relax after a day of exploring. A+ rating for making our trip comfortable and easy, even during a pandemic.”
5 minute walk to Congress square. 10 minute walk to the top of the Old Port- [walk time- tested with two unfocused dogs]. We are very centrally located on the Portland peninsula. 5 to 10 minute walk- to all Portland has to offer; restaurants, galleries, parks, shops, and two farmers markets. Just a few short blocks from the State Theater, Portland Museum of Art, Portland Stage Company, Art's district, Old Port area, and Congress Square.
“The apartment was very cute, super clean and spacious for my family of 4. We had plenty of space and slept really well! I don’t know where the comforters are from, but I want them! The air conditioning worked great! As a tea drinker, I really appreciated the large mugs and tea kettle. Also the half and half in the fridge was most appreciated! The coffee pot worked great for the coffee drinkers. Congress Street was a 5 minute walk. A lot was closed due to COVID, but it was nice to walk around. We drove to Old Port in the evening, but that was a quick drive. It really is near everything. Carolyn met us the first day at the door and recommended a great place for breakfast (Dutch’s). Also we loved meeting Wally and Elmo, and considered the trip complete when we got to meet Mack the cat! Highly recommend.”
