This is a simple room in a family home nestled into a northern hardwood forest located about 30 minutes from both the airport and the city of Marquette. A cozy space with views of wild birds at the feeders, chickens roaming the yard and two young cats seeking attention. Two guest rooms are available so there may be others in our home too.
Small upstairs bedroom. Shared bathroom. Full sized bed. Dresser, hangers, lamp, alarm clock, small desk space. Large window with view of woods, chicken coop, garden. Access to family kitchen. Towels, linens, soap and shampoo are available. House is heated with indoor wood stove and/or propane baseboard heat.
Neighbors? Our next door neighbors are barely visible. There are only a half dozen houses on our 4 mile section of dirt road. The back 20 and nearby Forest Service Road is nice for a walk, cross country ski or snowshoe outing without having to drive to groomed trails. Several trail systems for cross country skiing are available within a 15 -45 minute drive, as are the Rock River Ice Caves and the Laughing Whitefish Falls.
  • Great response! Cozy area.

  • Jennifer is an amazing host and her home is lovely! Great amenities for guests and a beautiful location! I can't wait to go back!

    Erika2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This “bedroom in pleasant rural setting” is a sweet and special experience. The setting’s natural surroundings (woods, trails, view to Lake Superior, starry skies) and the house in the woods are a delightful place to be. The host and her family are friendly, warm, and a joy to cross paths with and I always feel very welcome and comfortable there. This is one of my sweetest Airbnb stays.

    Dean2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • It was our 4th time staying there. So that should tell you everything. We really enjoy staying there.

    Rory2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer is a great host. The accommodations were exactly as described along with friendly cats. Definitely would stay here again.

    Scott2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place rocks! Jennifer made us feel right at home. Her son and cats enhance the experience. The house had signs that made finding amenities easy peasy. Perfect for a pair of ice climbers looking for a warm place to recoup as well as warm welcome.

    Sean2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's home was cozy and quiet. It was an amazing value and with a kiddo NMU it is a gem nearby. I will definitely be back.

I stayed for a few days while snowmobiling and the place is only about 1000 ft from trail 417 Tim and his wife are very friendly and are more than willing to let you know about what the area has to offer. Loved how the place was pretty much set back in the 50s,60s and 70s era.

    Gary2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wally’s cabin was the perfect size! The owner was very helpful when we had questions and provided us with some fun extras that we weren’t expecting! We had a great time and it was very easy to find! If we go back up to the UP, we will be sure to check if Wally’s is available!

    Constantine2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was always fast to respond. Location was easy to find and much cuter in person than in some pics I saw. They left us beer and a case of water and peanuts for Chipmunks (that ate them out of our hands). The place was clean and smelled like a cabin but not musty like most cabins smell so I was thankful for that! Even tho he and family were out of town they were quick to respond for any of our questions. It was perfectly placed between Munising and Marquette. Beds are decent. Better than some hotels/motels I've stayed in. Blankets smelled fresh as well as towels. Shower does run out of hot water fairly soon (so shower fast), although it does recover rather quickly. Overall a great stay! We will stay here again and would recommend Tim's place. I forget best part..Wood burning sauna was great and easy to use if you've ever started a fire. Very relaxing and totally a bonus!! Thank you Tim!

    Shari2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is in a secluded dirt road but easy to get to from highway 28. great location in between marquette and munising, looks like the pictures and was very clean. Tim and his wife were so nice and live on the property. His wife (I think her name was Becky?) immediately thrusted a bag of peanuts in my hands and suggested we feed the chipmunks in the morning - they come right up and eat out of your hands! overall we enjoyed our stay

    Hayley2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • A fisherman’s type cabin but sparkling clean. They gifted us with Trenary cinnamon toast, bottled water and beer in the frig. A bit musty smelling, that quickly disappeared when we opened windows.

    Fanni M.2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described. Thank you for having us!

    Rachel2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancée and I stayed here for our first trip to the UP. we loved it! location was great, super clean, and we loved the little chipmunks too😊 Tim was very helpful and a wonderful host. We would definitely stay here again.

  • What a great little cabin in a fantastic location! I initially chose these accommodations because it was convenient to both Pictured Rocks and Marquette and the price couldn’t be beat. The cabin is small but cozy, comfortable, and practical. The host even made sure that we were stocked with bottled water, towels, and other necessities. We had a wonderful stay!

Rich is one of the nicest most helpful people I've ever met. He even offered to help me fix my snowmobile. Rich has many local connections if you find yourself in a situation while you're away from home and not sure who to call ( car problems etc.) Location is perfect for area attractions and snowmobile trails. I highly recommend and will be back.

  • This was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay for a little weekend getaway! It has all of the necessary amenities and is so close to Munising and the pictured rocks which we were excited to hike. It’s also right across the street from a small beach on Lake Superior which was beautiful! The fall colors were gorgeous, and we’re already planning our next trip out for the summer to enjoy the kayaking and swimming in the Lake! Rich was a great host. He communicated well with us prior to our trip as well as when we got there to check in. He had a ton of tips and suggestions for places to eat and visit and things to see while we were there. Highly recommend staying here during your visit to the UP!

    Jamie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying with Rich. He is a great host and his place is amazing. We stayed with our little baby girl and it was pleasant stay. He also gave us lot of information about the places to see around. We can truly recommend to stay here and enjoy Au Train.

Built in 1974, this rustic architecturally unique cabin is an all wood modified A Frame nestled in the woods of the Upper Peninsula. Floor to ceiling windows and a lofted second floor, allow ample light and gorgeous views of Lake Superior. Sit by the lake in the summer, or the cast iron wood stove in the winter. A short drive from down town Marquette or Munising, our home offers a quiet place to relax and feel close to nature.
We live on a dead end street, with Lake Superior on one side, and woods on the other. Our neighbors are full time residents and enjoy the quiet surroundings that the point offers. We ask that our guests respect this and enjoy the relaxing setting Point of the Point brings with out disrupting the neighbors.
  • My husband I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the fantastic view of Lake Superior. Conveniently located between Munising and Marquette which provided lots of options for outdoor exploration.

  • We spent 3 nights at Cole and Emily's place in the middle of January 2020. The location of the home is perfect about half way between 2 cities where you could do or get anything you needed but far enough to feel the privacy this home brings. It is right on Lake Superior and, unless you have seen it, you can not imagine the power and peacefullness this great lake possesses. Amazing. The home is very unique and warm and cozy as well. The wood burning stove in the living room brings great comfort throughout the house in the cold winter. The beds were awesome and the kitchen stocked with everything anyone could need. Cole and Emily provide a book with all the information you would need about the home as well as suggestions of places to eat and things to do. They were very quick to respond when I had another question as well. The surrounding area feels very save and private as well. We would go back in a heartbeat and hope to get the chance to soon!

    Lisa2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!!! This is such a fantastic place. The view is stunning, the beds were so,so comfy and the house was super clean. We had everything we needed to cook meals for a family of 6. Highly recommend this beautiful property. We will be returning.

  • Point of the Point is a terrific spot from which to enjoy the beauty of the Upper Peninsula. You’d be hard pressed to find a better view of Lake Superior! The accommodations are just as wonderful as the location. The house is well appointed with all the creature comforts. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon!

  • Jamie’s place was like right out of a fairly take. This cabin is tucked away in a beautiful secluded corner of property and is the very definition of cozy! Jamie was also so accommodating to us from providing us with snow shoes that we used to see the eben ice caves and even keeping the fire lit when we left the cabin for long periods of time. This is where you want to stay for your trip to the upper peninsula .

    Luke2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in this tipi to get a little closer to nature and it was exactly as we'd hoped. It's situated in the forest close to Lake Superior and the sound of the waves put us to sleep. The wood stove kept us warm and cozy and we still had all the amenities necessary to be comfortable. Jamie is a great host who left us to our privacy but was very responsive to my messages. There's so much to do in the area, we went snowshoeing, hiking, and enjoyed the restaurants in Marquette. We definitely want to come back!

  • Great new and clean trailer. Very nice definitely will return

  • This was a great location and a nicely laid out camper with pretty much everything we needed. Lori was responsive to questions and had some extra touches to make our stay enjoyable. The sauna worked well and was relaxing after long days sightseeing. It was a bit tricky to find the driveway at night but once we figured it out, it was easy after that. Overall we would highly recommend Lori's place and hope to be back again!

  • This was our first time renting a camper/RV and feel it was also a great way to experience the U.P. for the first time. You feel like you are camping in a very private spot, but also get the luxury of sleeping in a bed with some bonus amenities. The location between Marquette and Munising was great to be able to explore two cities with plenty to do. Lori was very accommodating and a great host. She responded to every message very quickly and we could tell she wanted to ensure we had a great experience.

    Amanda2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay, the trailer was super comfortable+clean and beds/linens even nicer than we expected. No issues communicating w the host or figuring out how to use all the things in the RV.

  • We loved staying at this RV! The location was great - about 20 minutes from downtown Marquette and 1 hour from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Across the road, there is a beautiful bike path. The RV was super clean and had plenty of amenities - cooling, heating, shower, etc. I was impressed with our experience! This was our first-time staying in any RV.

Upstairs bedroom. Shared bathroom. Queen sized bed. Dresser, hangers, lamp, alarm clock, small desk space, small table, small refrigerator. small microwave.
  • Everything about our stay at Jen’s home was outstanding! The location is perfect for adventuring to Munising, Marquette and all the natural gems in between. We loved how easy it was to find thanks to Jen’s detailed directions before arrival and how welcomed we felt from the first message all the way until the moment we departed. We will be returning for sure!

This private & cozy modern cottage is a true home-away-from home. Completely renovated in 2017 and just up the driveway (past the main house) from the shores of Lake Superior, it's the perfect place for families and those looking to take in all that Upper Michigan has to offer. Just under 10 miles from downtown Marquette is where you will enjoy local breweries, fresh Lake Superior whitefish, shopping and a variety of local cuisine.
Built in the 70's and completely renovated in 2017, this cottage sleeps 4 comfortably. It has 2 bedrooms - one with a queen size bed and the other with a twin size bed with twin trundle below. Both bedrooms have well-appointed furnishings and nice closets. We also have a Pack 'n Play available upon request. The living room hosts a variety of books and local maps as well as a TV with Dish Network access. In the linen closest ,you will also find a DVD player with an assortment of DVDs and games. The kitchen is well laid out with ample counter space to prep on and the cutest built-in booth seating for two. The bathroom has a deep soaking tub with a shower and is fully stocked with fresh towels and toiletries. A hairdryer and curling iron are provided for your convenience. You'll have access to the attached single car garage to park your car or store your outdoor toys.
Just across the street is the Iron Ore Heritage Trail; it's great for biking in the spring, summer and fall and riding your snow mobiles in the winter. This trail takes you all the way to Munising heading east and to Republic to the west.
  • Great place to stay. Convenient, very clean and super cute cottage. Excellent host who responded very quickly and gave good local tips and advice.

  • The Superior Life cottage was our home away from home. It was close to so many trails and outdoor activities and just a quick drive into town for some killer coffee at Velodrome and grocery shopping at the local Co-op. The place was so comfortable - no need to count sheep in that bed - it was heavenly. And we’ve never Airbnb’d at a place that had a kitchen as stocked as this one - it made prepping and cooking so easy. Had a great time. Highly recommend this place!

    Ashley2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • It is a wonderful cottage on Lake Superior. Excellent location perfectly clean and safe. Definitely recommend

    Veslav2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best AirBnB we’ve stayed at. It was such a cozy and stylish place. We felt right at home. We were able to walk to the Lake very easily and get to Marquette in 10 minutes for restaurants and activities. This place is close to lots of hikes and other outdoor activities. We cooked two meals and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend this place more!!

    Caitlin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was so charming and a perfect place to spend the weekend with my sisters. The water levels were high so we couldn’t get down to the beach, but we were able to sit on the access stairs with our coffee and enjoyed Lake Superior’s beautiful views and hearing the waves crash on the rocks. Casandra offered great recommendations for hikes (we did the Chapel and Mosquito trails at Pictured Rocks - amazing!) and local eateries (we loved Zephyr)! Marquette is such a fun place and the locals were so friendly. Such a lovely time!

    Frank2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is exactly what my husband and I were looking for during our stay in the UP. It was beautifully decorated, and the lake access on the property was great. Cassandra was a great host, and offered plenty of local recommendations. We would definitely recommend this listing!

    Micaela2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is outstanding. Mine and my wife's favorite out of the 5 states we've used airbnbs in. We spent our honeymoon here and the space was perfect to use as we wishes. Our privacy was beyond respected and the hosts even open up their own personal space so you can walk to their private beach. No complaints. We will stay here again.

    Adam2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at the cottage for trip to explore pictured rocks. Cassie and family were awesome to give us recommendations and respond quickly to our questions. The cottage was sparkling clean and fully stocked. Convienent location right outside of marquette. We loved the beach access, great spot for a relaxing getaway.

  • Well, just spent 6 days here... AMAZING little Beach House.. 10 miles out of the city, 3/4 acre wooded Private lot.. House is 10 yards from the water.. . If your looking for the Hilton, it's down the road. If your looking for the perfect place to enjoy lake Superior this is it... As you settle in you begin to notice each little detail.. Very interesting eclectic place.. Awesome deck and Beach.... They have everything you could possibly need from kayaks to grills.. Games, toys, direct tv.... If you forgot it, it is likely there.. I cannot stress enough what a cool place this is.. The Cons would be the well water (bring water) and the skylight directly above the bed... If you sleep in, you may need to be creative.... I would highly recommend this property.

  • My friends and I decided to come up to the UP this February to go to the annual Ice Fest in February. This little cottage was perfect- between Marquette and Munising, plenty of space for 3 people, and I was able to bring my furry little hellion along for the ride. Pat & Wendy were amazing hosts and made sure that everything was going alright even when they were out of town. As a forewarning, Marquette (and the UP in general) does get insane amounts of snow in the winter, but it's a great place to get snowed in until you can get plowed out :)

Beautiful rustic lodge directly across from a pristine, Lake Superior sand beach just 8 miles east of Marquette and 28 miles west of Munising. Nestled among red pines on a bird sanctuary pond next to the North Country Trail. Nearby trails are perfect for biking, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing. Come enjoy a sauna, campfires, paddle boats, volleyball, and maybe even the northern lights since we are just the right distance away from city lights!
There are two completely separate sides to this 4500 sq foot lodge (it's basically a duplex), and we sometimes stay in the other side; however, the only shared space is the back deck.
The lodge is located next to a campground on one side, within a red pine, wooded area with plentiful wintergreen, raspberries, blueberries and huckleberries, in season.
  • Beautiful, cozy cabin. I would highly recommend it.

  • I can't say enough about Jamie's Lodge, very understated from the photos because you can't take a photo of a warm feeling or the smell of a wood fire. Everything is as stated only much much better when you're there, I found every detail perfect and exactly what I was looking for. The little touches throughout are thoughtful and fun, I found myself wandering around looking at everything through the whole visit, always noticing something new. My favorite feature is the centrally located wood stove, more than adequate to heat the space. The smell of bacon, coffee and the fire in the morning is pure heaven. I can't wait to stay again...until then I'll dream of it and enjoy the memories. Thank you Jamie!

  • There are no words to express how unique this place is. You could spend a week looking and never see all the awesome touches. This host has went above and beyond as far as I am concerned. Truly an amazing experience! A great time was had by all! ~ Kim, Bill, Travis and Leah Niles, Mi

  • The Dragonfly Lodge is a beautiful unique log home filled with unique touches everywhere you looked. Our hiking group loved coming home to the comforts provided. Next time we will also plan time to use the sauna! Jamie is a gracious and responsive host. She even came out to meet us late at night when we arrived to make sure we were settled in and comfortable. A peaceful environment.

  • What a perfect up north cabin experience. Jamie’s place is charming and comfortable with all the right touches. A nature inspired log cabin with a cozy wood stove central in the cabin.Lots of cute nooks to hide away and read. We enjoyed a camp fire under a blanket of stars with the sound of Superior in the distance. Communication was a breeze and Jamie was so accommodating. Terrific stay.

    David2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a lovely time at the cabin. It was so relaxing and peaceful! The cabin has a quirky decor that we loved and was extremely clean. Our son had a wonderful time exploring and Jamie included nice touches such as more "natural" body washes & shampoos and changing the towels every few days. For the kiddos, she had games, coloring books (both adult and child) and toys. She thoughtfully includes a list of suggested restaurants and activities for any type of weather. (PS - Our son found and re-hid 2 painted rocks in the cabin.) Most evenings after dinner, we were at the beach nearby. We used the grill on the deck one evening for a relaxing dinner "at home." I will concur with a previous reviewer that the steps to the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom are pretty steep. While we were unable to meet Jamie because she was out of town, Jeremy checked us in, changed our towels ever few days, and was very nice as well. Jamie was quick to respond to any messages, even after we stayed for a several days then asked about the history of the cabin! We would absolutely stay here again!

The cottage is in a perfect location. Hwy M28 takes you along Lake Superior, Between Marquette and Munising. Lake Superior is across M28 at the end of our driveway. Access to the beach is a bit of a climb due to erosion and record high water level but very doable. A public stairway to the beach is a short walking distance (200 yards) from our property for easy beach access. A large patio with plenty of outdoor furniture, grill, 3 person swing, and hammock for relaxation in the back trees.

I'm going to provide hand sanitizer, and sanitizer wipes for guest to use to wipe down anything they are concerned with. I want guests feel confident that the cottage is cleaned properly to deal with this virus. • This is a perfect home for a quiet retreat. We enjoyed every bit of our stay. The beach is across the street, WiFi works great, kitchens fully stocked. Lori has even provided local menu’s and entertainment pamphlets.

  • It's a fantastic vacation spot to stay a couple of nights, the cabin is super-cozy, family friendly and has a personal character. I come from a beach city, and it is so lovely to stay in in the cabin decorated with beach theme. Few highlights - (1) the beach decor and theme in the cabin, made it a very special experience. (2) sunroom was just beautiful, we spent a loads of time in the sunroom, (3) the St Francis Sculpture in the front yard was very peaceful, (4) Brilliant Lake Superior Beach access within a 100 yard walk (5) very spacious backyard for playing a tons of game, we played some badminton and ball catch in the backyard. (6) kitchen had stock of lavazza coffee and mint dip-tea, which we enjoyed, (7) very different collection of books, especially the Loon Picture Book, it was lovely to read it sitting in the sunroom in the early morning, (8) Netflix was a life-saver to engage my 2 year old I will definitely stay in this property again, if I visit Munising or Marquette Arun.

    Arun2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We completely enjoyed our week at Cozy Loon Cabin. It was sparkling clean and the floorplan was very comfortable; and a bonus was the nicely appointed kitchen and the grill on the nicely landscaped patio. We wanted for nothing, everything we needed was always at our fingertips. The location of this cabin is special and unique. It offers the best of the outdoors -- it is surrounded by woods, and just down the drive and across the road is access to the Lake. Both spaces are peaceful and beautiful retreats. And the location gives easy access to the routes to Munising and to Marquette. We could not have asked for more convenience. The host was in town during our visit and was a great help with our questions about the local restaurants and things to do. We appreciated the hospitality and felt welcome to contact her for anything at all. All in all, this was a great location for a summer vacation!

    Andrea2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at the camp loon house. Lori was very accommodating with anything we needed or had questions about. Great location and place to stay

    Jaden2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lori's place was great. It was nice and cozy in a great location. The Sauna was a very unique and relaxing experience. Lori was very helpful and was on call for any questions and concerns.

Plenty of room for fishing gear, bikes or ATV's (right across the street from path and Lakenenland sculpture park). Large, sunny bedrooms with breathtaking lake views, fresh air and plenty of space. Master suite and bath to die for. The master suite flows into master bathroom (very open floor plan) with walk in shower. Wrap up your day with a long soak in the jacuzzi tub while watching the sunset...
  • This house is absolutely stunning. The open concept is perfect for a close-knit group of people. Our group spent most of our time hanging in the kitchen and living room. The view of Lake Superior through all of the windows was incredible during this time of year. Emma even had the driveway plowed for us because it stormed the day before. Our group enjoyed this beautiful space and we are already planning for our next stay!

    Rachel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We just loved this house. Great space for family fun. Would love to return in the summer!

    Pete2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was amazing! Perfect location as it was a great center point for traveling to numerous different areas across the U.P. Also located about 15 minutes from many awesome restaurants/bars in downtown Marquette. The sauna was very simple to use and was a great addition to the cottage. The kitchen had everything that was needed plus plenty more for cooking. I will definitely be returning to this cottage in the future!

    Julian2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, super comfy beds, gorgeous private beach, and fab location! Emma was very sweet and had great communication with us. Would definitely stay here again!

    Savannah2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s home was magical! So much more than expected and what the pictures captured. Highlights for our family- swimming in the lake and running to the sauna, enjoying the sunshine, sleeping on comfortable beds which I could have slept all day in- but I didn’t want to miss a sunrise over Lake Superior- so up every morning for it! Many walks and runs up and down the beach, paddle boarding, beach fires, sunsets and being together in a beautiful home. We would return every year if we could!

    Naomi2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Emma's home is absolutely beautiful, and couldn't have been better for our large group. Perfect communication, perfect location, and just a great, big open living space to gather together as a group without feeling cramped. And the lake! Breathtaking sunsets, peaceful mornings... wish we could have stayed longer. I highly, highly recommend this home. And Emma is a gracious, communicative host and absolutely wonderful to work with.

    Rod2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a dream house...private beach and so much fun on the paddle boards! Beach fires at night and a great kitchen to cook and serve meals to our large group!

    Kyley2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This space is a sanctuary and filled with wonderful opportunities for fun and quality time! Easily accommodates large groups. Literally 10 minutes from Marquette. Totally private beach. Impeccably clean home and fully stocked kitchen!! We cooked up Amazing food, did yoga on the deck, took a sunshine nap on the chase lounge listening to the waves, warmed up in the sauna, and made lifelong memories! ✨

    Thomas2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is absolutely magical. The pictures already are phenomenal, but they don’t do it justice! Located directly on a private stretch of Superior shoreline and nestled in amongst the towering pines, this place is a true retreat. It is secluded, quiet, and peaceful, with everything you need to stay cozy & comfy- a full kitchen, nice bedrooms, a view of the lake from the living room couch! There’s room to roam around and explore the UP (Munising & Marquette are both very close), but we were happy to stay right in Au Train at this little slice of heaven. It can be somewhat tricky to find at first, but the hosts are available for questions & once we arrived, had no issues whatsoever. Plus, once you’re there, you’ll never want to leave, so it’s worth the extra bit of effort in finding it!

    Jess2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Erin’s place is so beautiful! The location in the lake is quiet, serene, and absolutely amazing! Place is clean, and check in was a breeze! Erin helped with some directions, it’s a little tricky to find, but once we did we were blown away!

    Aaron2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks a ton for the last minute place. It’s location on the beach near town was great. Overall it was good and we’d stay again.

We are 12 miles east of Marquette, with miles of beautiful sandy beach to walk, although there isn’t a view of the lake from the carriage house. It is located only 250 feet from the shores of Lake Superior. It is a upper level one bedroom fully furnished apartment w/a queen bed, and a loft as the second sleeping space with 2 twin beds. (Low ceiling 5 feet at peak) There is also a pull out double bed in the main living area. It is quaint but very comfortable, the perfect little getaway!
This is a carriage house apartment! with 1 bedroom, a loft and a big open room that has 2 couches which one pulls out into a double bed! it sleeps 6. The carriage house is located about 250 feet from the beach, so its just a hop skip and a jump to miles of sandy beach.
We are located 12 miles east of marquette, on the sandy shores of lake superior. It is a 20 minute drive to Marquette and 28 miles west of munising which is where the pictured rocks national lakeshore is located. We are nestled away from the road with a shared driveway with two other cabins. This place is our roots, our old family property, we are happy to share with the world!!
  • The carriage house was perfect for us for the weekend! Robin is a fantastic host; it was a pleasure to stay at her adorable cozy rental. It was very clean and had all the amenities needed. We look forward to staying there again on our next visit to Marquette!

    Gina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Super quiet and private, Tons in the area to see and do! We had a nice relaxing few days!

    Abby2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • A huge slice of Lake Superior right in your back yard! Pristine sand, crystal clear water and a rock hunters dream. The kids loft is super fun and very unique. The house is tiny yet inviting, perfect for relaxing after a busy day. Its spotlessly clean and has all the little items you may have forgot to pack. Robin is super friendly and relaxed and made us feel very welcome.

    Aaron2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Carriage House was a great place to stay right along Lake Superior. The beach is just a short walk with amazing views of the lake shore and for stargazing at night. Its location is ideal for exploring either the Marquette or Munising areas.

    Ryan2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! This was a perfect location for my Dad, brother, and I to get away and explore both Marquette and Pictured Rocks. We loved being able to have a campfire in the yard (the beach was heavily eroded at the time). Robin was so nice as to share plenty of local tips on things to do and places to eat! Thanks again!

    David2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. No better place to stay than here on Robin and Mark’s property. Such an amazing location with incredible amenities and access to the lake. This was the perfect getaway with everything we needed right here at the home. It was so hard to venture out because we enjoyed our time here so much that we just wanted to stay and continue to enjoy it.

    Nicholas2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was worth every penny! The house was adorable, clean and conveniently located. Had a bonfire on the beach every night we stayed and had the beach to ourselves. Robin was great, answered all my random question prior to arrival and was available to assist with anything we needed. Had so much fun here, and will be returning!!!

    Brittney2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect hideaway just outside of downtown Marquette. The lake was beautiful with a sandy beach & we used the front porch every night. The place itself is cute inside & had everything we needed. For anyone looking to also go anywhere downtown, taxi's do drive out this far :) Robin was super responsive and helpful right from the beginning - we will definitely try to come back!

  • The location and house were both perfect for our group of 8; 2 adults, 4 teens and 2 pre-teens. The house was very accomodating, offered many amenities which allowed for a very comfortable stay, was clean and really felt like home! We would definitely stay again! Thank you!

    Raquel2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this house for one week during the second week of August and enjoyed the view of the spectacular gardens, hummingbirds and deer every morning in total seclusion. The lack of internet did us all good 😀 The location allowed us to reach Munising’s Miner, Mosquito and Chapel Rock beach, the Grand Isle biking tour, Au Train beach, Marquette and even the Manestique’s Kitch-iti-kipi Spring. We even got to swim in Lake Superior. However never got to enjoy the fire because the week just went by too fast.

    Renata2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house was in a quiet setting perfectly positioned between Marquette and Munising, our two favorite UP towns. The babbling brook was soothing as we drank our morning coffee from the very nice porch overlooking the back yard. Old school landline, but no internet or signal for us. I loved being off the grid and watching the kids come together over board games in the evening. Our kids found the inviting yard a great place to have smores and throw a football. Great host! Thanks again.

The fall colors are AMAZING!! Waking up and falling asleep to Lake Superior...Peaceful. Nightly and Morning walks on the beach were beautiful! We feel so relaxed and calm after staying here. The house has everything you could or would need. The communication was quick and we appreciated Erin checking in to see if we needed anything. Cant say enough about that beach steps from the back door on Lake Superior!

  • We had 7 people on a memorial trip. The house, area, and the lake were all so relaxing! This house is beautiful! Lake Superior is steps behind the house and the house has a wall of windows to look at it. It was clean, smelled great, and all the beds were wonderfully comfortable. We had enough showers and toilets for as many people as we had. Makes vacation that much easier! This house will not disappoint you. The property manager was very easy to communicate with and was very prompt when answering questions. She asked after our well-being several times while we were there. Wonderful experience.

Spacious & pristinely clean, every comfort & amenity provided by kind, experienced hosts. Great location for a home base to explore the area. Before we’d even left, my husband was talking about returning with extended family!

  • We really enjoyed our time at Camp Luke Charles. The location was fantastic. We loved paddling on the Sand River behind the house. They provide 2 (1 person) kayaks and a canoe along paddles and life jackets, etc. We paddled down the river out to Lake Superior almost every day we were there. We had the beach (Lake Superior) to ourselves most days. We hope to return next year!

  • Cute updated house with sweet surf style decor. Loved that there were wild berries to stop and pick on the way to the beach.

  • We have stayed at several rental homes. Joe's place is a wonderful stay! His cottage was well stocked with all your needs and wants. Beautiful beach, great location, comfy beds, a place to cookout, well stocked kitchen, clean and updated and even a few great movie options for the rainy day or down time with the family. Thanks Joe !

  • The house was great and the access to the beach was nice to have relaxing evenings watching the sunrise or just to hang out in the afternoons. Everything was super clean, and my husband and I would recommend staying here. It was nice to be between Marquette and Munising to be able to go and explore what the UP has to offer.

  • The house was better than expected. The pictures don't do the house and the location justice. We couldn't have picked a better spot for exploring the U.P. The house was well accommodated!! Highly recommended and we will book again.
