Chalet vacation rentals in Portugal

We spent 5 nights at Maria's place and felt very comfortable. The surrounding area is very quiet and you can take great walks and hikes through the woods. But you can also get to Caminha for dinner quickly.

In the beautiful area in the lovely house airy and stylish apartment to stay- we loved it a lot!

Our stay in this house was really fantastic! The house itself was amazing and offered incredible tranquility. The hostess is one of the friendliest people we have ever met. Upon arrival we could easily park our car in the driveway of the hostess's house. She was so thoughtful in helping us get our luggage to the vacation house. To get to the house, you walk through a beautiful vineyard. This walk is an experience in itself, the surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful. Once we arrived at the cottage, we were treated to an amazing view of the vineyard. The house itself is cozy and comfortably furnished, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a swimming pool within walking distance of the house, located on a hill. The pool is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and it was wonderful to spend time there with the family. All in all, this house was really a highlight of our first holiday in Portugal. We can recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay!

The place is great, it's cozy, there's plenty of space and you can cook well. Above all, the location on the island is great for exploring the island from there. Communication with Mário & Filipa was straightforward and very friendly. Highly recommend!

We fully agree with all the superlatives in previous reviews: luxurious house at the foot of the forest with breathtaking view of the ocean. Very private and very well maintained. Our children who were studying for exams during the stay pronounced the WIFI excellent and were thankful the house had a separate room with a big desk where one could study, paint, etc. The wooden fire is easy to light and ample wood is provided. The AC wall-heaters provide additional, more than sufficient, heat in case you consider renting as us in late December. The host Jorge was extremely responsive from start to finish. We have stayed at quite a lot of places via airbnb and could say with confidence Jorge’s hospitality was unprecedented. Such a nice person! We have never been to the Açores and Terceira before but after spending 10 days here believe Biscoitos is the best location, especially for people who like hiking, nature and appreciate home cooking in family restaurants! Recommended 100%!

We loved that walking through the picturesque village you can get to the river where you can get in and enjoy!

This was an amazing stay! The Chalet is beautiful and offers tranquility as it is nestled in the mountains and has serene views. Despite being hard to find, it was worth every penny. We would definitely stay there again! Bonus, Carla was an amazing host! She was so helpful in finding the chalet as we got lost twice. Carla and her husband even drove to find us and led us to the Chalet. If we needed anything she seemed to always respond rather quickly. Overall, it was a great stay!

This home was lovely! Clean, spacious, and so historically unique - and located just a short walk from the bridge and University areas. We loved the deck and view. The host was flexible with our arrival time and gave us great restaurant suggestions. Highly recommend.

Very nice villa in Porto Covo with large terrace. Well-equipped kitchen and nicely decorated. Would recommend the house for 7 instead of 10 people, 3 people sleep on pull-out beds, so it gets quite tight in 2 rooms. There is also only one bathroom accessible from the corridor. Otherwise everything was great, thank you very much. Value for money is great.

Everything was perfect! The accommodation is clean, convenient, full of charm ( wood, original and warm decoration stone) and beautifully located! Amazing views and breathtaking sunsets. Small downside: the insulation between the rooms.

What a find! This is a beautiful luxury chalet with spectacular views in total privacy - yet being close enough to amenities a short car trip away. We wanted a base outside of Lisbon for some R&R and this place was perfect. The hosts were great giving us local recommendations and you could tell how much they loved the house also. We will be back for sure!

We had a great stay in July 2024. I was staying at the property with my kids and a bunch of their friends and there was always something to do or somewhere to hang out for everyone. We had a problem with the stove - and there the instructions could perhaps have been a bit better. However, the team managing the property helped solve it to everyone's satisfaction. We would definitely stay at the property again!

Leonor has been flexible, kind and always super reactive! She was easy to connect with especially during our stay through phone and did everything to answer any of our requests or needs! We had an amazing stay with my friends. I definitely recommend this place! Thanks again

Beautiful home. Well located. Easily accommodated our family of 12. With off street parking. 5 minute walk to the beach and train station. Grocery store, bakery, restaurants, banks all very close. Rick was very helpful and responsive. Will definitely return.

I spent two magnificent days with my family at Casa dos Vinhais. The host, José, is very nice, attentive and helpful and we were optimally received by him. The house is really special with the family's antique furniture and crockery with the very nice living room and the very beloved bedrooms. Here you sit and breathe the story. The view from the house to the Douro River is beautiful and we could not take advantage to bathe in the river but, in the warmer months, it would be possible to enjoy the outside well. We can ask to make dinner at home and the cod with cream and the alheira prepared by José e Graça was divine. In addition, the small Almoco is included in the stay and is really delicious! I hope to return here again to this home. Thank you for everything!

The hosts were very kind and attentive all the time. The location is beautiful, and the house is very good and clean. Overall, a very nice stay. Would like to repeat in the future.

It was an amazing surprise to stay in this little treasure. Maria Helena was an amazing host and explained everything right. Only those who are on this site really feel how special it is. From the common areas, to the windows between the bedrooms, living room and kitchen (even tastes to wash the dishes with that view), the much-loved "rooftop"/terrace, never drinking a cafe was so good. For those who need to rest a few days, this is undoubtedly one of the places to stay, 3 days that seemed like a week. No doubt I will return!! Our thanks to D. Beautiful house by the lake, in a very peaceful village. Had a wonderful stay with my girlfriend and we couldn't be happier!

The place is beautiful and very quiet. We miss having a supermarket closer. The closest place where you can buy everything was 15 km away

What an amazing house! The drive is down a steep lane and then you arrive at the wonderful house. Perched by the lake (grassy banks leading down to lake with pontoon with steps) the house is set in the hill surrounded by beautiful trees. An amazing terrace with picture perfect view across the lake. Swimming pool lovely temperature. We are outside on the terrace every night and swam in the lovely lake every day. Vicente was the most wonderful host. He met us to help direct us to the house and showed us around. Any question I had he was quick to reply. The house had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Thank you 😊

Impeccable accommodation, positively surprised us in every way. Spectacular view, it looked like a painting because we were paralyzed only to admire so much beauty. All very functional for a comfortable stay. Extremely clean and fragrant with a special twist of rosemary in every corner that was just taken out in the backyard. We had memorable moments and recommend Casa Azul to everyone who wants to spend some calm and happy days in Montalegre. Thank you to Luis for your availability and kindness to us.

Beautiful house that is perfectly designed to go with surrounding nature in the area. You feel at home the moment you come in. Luis was extra nice and put the heating on before our arrival as it was cold and raining that day. Very thoughtful host indeed. Luis understands that those little gestures make his guests feel cosy and comfortable the moment they enter his place.
